Abstract
Description
Vehicle projection device
[0001] The present disclosure relates to a vehicle projection device, and more particularly, to a vehicle projection device capable of outputting a clear projection image while increasing the resolution of the projection image.
[0002] A vehicle is a device that allows the user to move in the desired direction. A representative example is an automobile.
[0003] Meanwhile, for the convenience of vehicle users, a vehicle projector is installed inside the vehicle.
[0004] For example, there is a trend toward adopting head-up displays that output projection images onto the windshield or projecting images onto the vehicle's front lamps.
[0005] Meanwhile, Korean Patent Publication No. 10-2006-0101026, a prior art document, discloses a display device and method to which a resolution enhancement device is applied, which can effectively enhance the resolution of a projection display device.
[0006] In particular, the prior art discloses providing an improved resolution with the same number of pixels by using an input signal applying means for applying an input signal to an image displacement driving means to periodically display a different image on a screen and visually recognizing the same, thereby making it feel as if there are many pixels.
[0007] However, according to prior literature, when driving the movable member of a resolution enhancement device, it is difficult to create an ideal input signal, so there is a disadvantage in that image distortion occurs due to overshoot and rising time of the input signal.
[0008] The problem of the present disclosure is to provide a vehicle projection device capable of outputting a clear projection image while increasing the resolution of the projection image.

[0015] Meanwhile, the signal processing device can control the actuator to operate in response to a projection image of one color among the projection images of multiple colors when sequentially outputting projection images of multiple colors based on a vertical synchronization signal.

[0070] Meanwhile, a vehicle projection device (100) according to another embodiment of the present disclosure includes an image generating device (300) that outputs a projection image, an actuator (325) that varies the direction of projection from the image generating device (300) to output a partially overlapping projection image, a detection unit (335) that detects the operation of the actuator (325), and a signal processing device (370) that calculates a resonance frequency based on the operation of the actuator (325) and varies a reference signal (Sd) for driving the actuator (325) based on the calculated resonance frequency. As a result, it is possible to output a clear projection image while increasing the resolution of the projection image.
[0071] FIGS. 2b to 3b are drawings illustrating the internal configuration of a vehicle projection device according to various embodiments of the present disclosure.
[0072] FIG. 2b is a drawing showing the internal configuration of a vehicle projection device according to another embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0073] Referring to the drawings, a vehicle projection device (100b) according to another embodiment of the present disclosure includes, similarly to the vehicle projection device (100) of FIG. 2A, an image generating device (300) that outputs a projection image, an actuator (325) that varies the direction of projection from the image generating device (300) to output a partially overlapping projection image, a signal processing device (370), and a detection unit (335) that detects the operation of the actuator (325).

[0100] Meanwhile, based on the reference signal waveform (GRm), the actual actuator driving waveform (GRn) can be illustrated as in (b) of Fig. 4a.
[0101] The actuator driving waveform (GRn) can repeat a first level maintenance period (PT1) and a second level maintenance period (PT2) lower than the first level.
[0102] FIG. 4b illustrates an example of a first projection image and a second projection image based on the reference signal waveform or actuator drive waveform of FIG. 4a.

[0105] Meanwhile, a detection unit (335), for example, a photo detector, can detect a first projection image (IGa) and a second projection image (IGb).
[0106] Alternatively, the detection unit (335), for example, a photo detector, can detect the first and second operations of the actuator (325).
[0107] FIG. 4c illustrates an example of multiple projection images based on the reference signal waveform or actuator drive waveform of FIG. 4a.
[0108] Referring to the drawings, a vehicle projection device (100) according to one embodiment of the present disclosure can output a first projection image (IGc), a second projection image based on a first operation of an actuator (325) based on the first projection image (IGc), a third projection image (IGd), and a fourth projection image based on a second operation of the actuator (325) based on the third projection image (IGd).
[0109] Meanwhile, the first to fourth projection images may have an overlapping area (Ar) in pixel units.
[0110] Meanwhile, a detection unit (335), for example, a photo detector, can detect the first to fourth projection images.
[0111] Alternatively, the detection unit (335), for example, a photo detector, can detect the first and second operations of the actuator (325).
[0112] Figure 4d is a drawing explaining the operation of an actuator based on a vertical synchronization signal.
[0113] Referring to the drawing, the signal processing device (370) can output a projection image based on a vertical synchronization signal (Vsync).
[0114] For example, the signal processing device (370) can sequentially output projection images of multiple colors (R, G, B) based on a vertical synchronization signal (Vsync).
[0115] In the drawing, it is exemplified that a red projection image is output during a TR period within a vertical synchronization signal (Vsync), a green projection image is output during a TG period, and a blue projection image is output during a TB period.
[0116] Meanwhile, the signal processing device (370) can control the actuator (325) to operate in response to a projection image of one color among the projection images of multiple colors when sequentially outputting projection images of multiple colors based on a vertical synchronization signal.
[0117] For example, the signal processing device (370) can control the actuator (325) to operate in response to a blue projection image among multiple color projection images.
[0118] Fig. 4d (a) illustrates a reference signal waveform (Sdr) for the operation of the actuator (325) corresponding to the blue projection image.
[0119] As shown in the drawing, at the time Tst, the reference signal waveform (Sdr) can rise from a low level to a high level, and accordingly, the actuator (325) operates at the time Tst.
[0120] For example, the actuator (325) may perform a first operation before the Tst time point and then perform a second operation of rotating partially at the Tst time point.
[0121] Accordingly, a superimposed image corresponding to the blue projection image among the multiple color projection images can be generated.
[0122] Meanwhile, the signal processing device (370) can output a compensation image signal (Sc) that compensates for the overlapping area (Ar) of a projection image of a certain color by the actuator (325) to the image generating device (300) based on the operation of the actuator (325).
[0123] Meanwhile, unlike the drawing, the signal processing device (370) can also be controlled to simultaneously output multiple color projection images based on a vertical synchronization signal.
[0124] Meanwhile, the signal processing device (370) can control the actuator (325) to operate in response to the projection images of multiple colors when simultaneously outputting projection images of multiple colors based on a vertical synchronization signal. This makes it possible to output a clear projection image while increasing the resolution of the projection image.
[0125] FIG. 5 is an example of an internal block diagram of the signal processing device of FIGS. 2a to 3b.
[0126] Referring to the drawing, the signal processing device (370) may be provided with an image generating unit (372), an image output unit (378), a resonance frequency calculating unit (374), and a reference signal output unit (375) that receive operation information or operation waveform information of the actuator (325) from the detection unit (335 or 336) and operate based on the operation information or operation waveform information of the actuator (325).
[0127] Meanwhile, the image generation unit (372) can generate a compensation image signal (Sc) that compensates for the overlapping area (Ar) of the projection image by the actuator (325) based on the operation information or operation waveform information of the actuator (325) from the detection unit (335 or 336).
[0128] And, the image output unit (378) can output a compensation image signal (Sc) to the image generation device (300).
[0129] Meanwhile, the resonance frequency calculation unit (374) can calculate the resonance frequency based on the operation information or operation waveform information of the actuator (325) from the detection unit (335 or 336).
[0130] Meanwhile, the resonance frequency calculation unit (374) can calculate the resonance frequency based on the operation of the actuator (325) and the temperature detected by the temperature detection unit (374).
[0131] Meanwhile, the resonance frequency calculation unit (374) can calculate the resonance frequency based on the operation of the actuator (325) and the operation period of the actuator (325) from the timer (372).
[0132] Meanwhile, the reference signal output unit (375) can output a variable reference signal (Sd) for driving the actuator (325) based on the calculated resonance frequency.
[0133] Fig. 6a illustrates an example of superimposition of projection images based on the operation of the actuator (325).
[0134] Referring to the drawing, the signal processing device (370) can control the actuator (325) to perform the first operation and the second operation.
[0135] Accordingly, as shown in (a) of Fig. 6a, the actuator (325) operates in a first operation mode and a second operation mode in which it rotates partially.
[0136] Meanwhile, the first operation mode and the second operation mode of the actuator (325) are operated by the reference signal (GRn) of (b) of Fig. 6a.
[0137] (c) of FIG. 6a illustrates a first projection image (IGa) based on a first operation of the actuator (325) and a second projection image (IGb) based on a second operation of the actuator (325).
[0138] The first projection image (IGa) and the second projection image (IGb) may overlap in some area (Ar).
[0139] Meanwhile, the signal processing device (370) can calculate a compensation luminance value of the first pixel (Pxa) using the luminance value of the first pixel (Pxa) in the overlapping area (Ar) of the second projection image (IGb) by the actuator (325) and the luminance value of the second pixel (Pxd) adjacent to the first pixel (Pxa), and output a compensation image signal (Sc) based on the compensation luminance value of the first pixel (Pxa) to the image generating device (300). As a result, it is possible to output a clear projection image while increasing the resolution of the projection image.
[0140] In the drawing, since a second projection image (IGb) that is diagonally shifted from the first projection image (IGa) is output, the second pixel (Pxd) adjacent to the first pixel (Pxa) may be a pixel adjacent in the diagonal direction of the first pixel (Pxa).
[0141] Fig. 6b illustrates an example of superimposition of projection images based on the operation of the actuator (325).
[0142] Referring to the drawing, the signal processing device (370) can control the actuator (325) to perform the first to fourth operations.
[0143] Accordingly, as shown in (a) of Fig. 6b, the actuator (325) operates in the first operation mode to the fourth operation mode by rotation.
[0144] Meanwhile, the first to fourth operation modes of the actuator (325) can be operated by the reference signals (GRa, GRb) of (b) of FIG. 6b.
[0145] For example, a first direction pixel movement can be performed by a first reference signal (GRa), and a second direction pixel movement different from the first direction can be performed by a second reference signal (GRb).
[0146] (c) of FIG. 6b illustrates a first projection image (IG1) based on the first operation of the actuator (325), a second projection image (IG2) moving in the first direction, a third projection image (IG3) moving in the second direction, and a fourth projection image (IG4) moving in the third direction.
[0147] Meanwhile, when the fourth projection image (IG4) moves in the third direction, the first projection image (IG1) can be output again.
[0148] Here, the first direction may be right, the second direction may be downward, the third direction may be left, and the fourth direction may be upward.
[0149] Meanwhile, the signal processing device (370) can calculate a compensation luminance value of the first pixel using the luminance value of the first pixel within the overlapping area of the plurality of projection images (IG1 to IG4) by the actuator (325) and the luminance value of the second pixel adjacent to the first pixel, and output a compensation image signal based on the compensation luminance value of the first pixel to the image generating device (300). This makes it possible to output a clear projection image while increasing the resolution of the projection image.
[0150] Meanwhile, although the preferred embodiments of the present disclosure have been illustrated and described above, the present disclosure is not limited to the specific embodiments described above, and various modifications may be made by a person having ordinary skill in the art to which the present invention pertains without departing from the gist of the present disclosure as claimed in the claims, and such modifications should not be understood individually from the technical idea or prospect of the present disclosure.
