Overhead line passive impact mechanical deicing device and method

[0001] CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS

[0002] This application is based on the Chinese patent application with application number 202311063879.X and application date August 23, 2023, and claims the priority of the above-mentioned Chinese patent application. The entire content of the above-mentioned Chinese patent application is hereby introduced into this application as a reference. Technical Field

[0003] The present application belongs to the technical field of overhead line deicing, and specifically relates to a passive impact mechanical deicing device and method for overhead lines. Background Art

[0004] Overhead transmission lines are the vehicles for large-capacity, long-distance energy transmission. Large-scale renewable energy bases and ultra-high / ultra-high voltage transmission lines are being planned and constructed. Due to the harsh weather and topographical conditions along their routes, an increasing number of overhead transmission lines inevitably pass through heavily iced areas. Severe icing can cause a variety of transmission line accidents, including mechanical failures such as damage to hardware, wire and strand breakage, tower deformation, and tower collapse, as well as electrical failures such as flashovers, short circuits, and burns. These can impact the safe operation of power grids and cause significant economic losses. Therefore, developing efficient and reliable anti-icing and de-icing technologies is crucial for ensuring the structural and electrical safety of transmission lines.

[0005] Currently, there are more than 30 de-icing technologies for transmission lines, which can be mainly divided into three categories: passive de-icing technology, mechanical de-icing technology, and thermal ice melting technology.

[0006] Passive de-icing relies on natural factors such as gravity, wind, and temperature fluctuations. It is highly dependent on the natural environment. These methods primarily utilize counterweights, snow rings, and wind skirts, but are effective only in small areas or under specific natural conditions.

[0007] The basic principle of thermal deicing technology is to melt the ice by heating the conductors. These methods primarily include DC and AC methods, overcurrent, high-frequency excitation, and phase-shifter-based load-based deicing. AC and DC deicing are currently the most valuable deicing methods worldwide, but they are prohibitively expensive and cannot be applied to ground wire deicing. They also have limitations in areas with specific weather conditions or microclimates.

[0008] Mechanical de-icing uses mechanical force to remove ice. This method offers advantages such as low cost, low energy consumption, and rapid de-icing. It has been the most widely studied de-icing method in recent years and holds promising prospects. Current mechanical de-icing methods are categorized in various ways. Based on the principle by which the ice is removed, they can be divided into percussion or scraping de-icing and vibration or impact de-icing. Percussion or scraping de-icing involves manually or robotically breaking up and removing the ice from the transmission line by tapping, squeezing, scraping, or other methods. Vibration or impact de-icing involves applying a sudden, large impact load to the transmission line, causing it to vibrate and jump. This results in the ice being subjected to a force greater than its adhesion or bonding strength, causing it to fall off. Depending on whether external energy is required during the de-icing process, de-icing can be further categorized into active and passive de-icing.

[0009] Hydro-Quebec's Electricity Research Institute in Canada has developed a portable mechanical de-icing device, the DAC, which employs an active impact de-icing method. This device uses gunpowder to detonate internal blank cartridges, generating high-pressure gas that drives a piston for a momentary movement. This creates a transient impact load on the conductor, causing it to vibrate. This shock wave propagates along the conductor, subjecting the ice to bending and axial loads, ultimately causing it to break off. This device enables rapid de-icing of transmission lines, facilitating timely and efficient intervention in critical icing zones, such as micro-topography and micro-climate zones, to ensure line safety. However, its use of blank cartridges as a power source poses concerns about the safety of the gunpowder, limiting its widespread adoption.

[0010] The China Electric Power Research Institute has proposed "An electromagnetically driven power line deicing device and a method for generating deicing signals" (application number 202210880826.6), which is also an active impact-type mechanical deicing method. The controller converts the control signal into a deicing power signal, controls the power provided by the energy supply component, and causes the electromagnetic ejection component to generate electromagnetic force as an impact force. The line de-icing operation is performed by instantaneously impacting the ice-covered conductor. The de-icing device has good output characteristics and is easy to remotely and automatically control. It can be adjusted according to the structural parameters and ice thickness of different lines. This device solves the problem of reliable power supply for portable mechanical de-icing devices and avoids the policy control problems caused by the use of gunpowder. At the same time, the amplitude and duration of the electromagnetic impact force are more convenient to adjust than those of gunpowder, and are more adaptable to different lines. However, it is suitable for workers to arrive at the line site to de-ice after the line is covered with ice. The existing type is not suitable for long-term hanging line operation.

[0011] Guizhou Power Grid Co., Ltd. proposed "A micro-power electromagnetic pulse deicing device and deicing method for overhead ground wires" (application number 202110572349.2) and "Distributed electric pulse deicing device and method for overhead transmission line ground wires" (application number 202110500611.2), which also belong to active impact mechanical deicing methods. The core components of the deicing device include electromagnetic energy taking coils, energy storage capacitors, pulse coils and brake aluminum rings. The core idea is to charge the energy storage capacitor through electromagnetic induction, and the energy storage capacitor discharges the pulse coil, thereby generating a pulse force on the brake aluminum ring to hit the overhead ground wire to generate vibration, thereby removing the ice. This application solves the self-power supply problem of active mechanical deicing, but requires the electromagnetic energy taking coil to be able to work reliably for a long time, and multiple deicing devices need to be installed on a single line according to a certain rule. The construction, installation and subsequent operation and maintenance workload is large. The triggering of the device requires workers to remotely trigger it according to the icing conditions of the line, which brings certain challenges to engineering applications.

[0012] In summary, existing passive de-icing devices such as counterweights, snow rings, and wind skirts do not require energy, but cannot generate vibrations spontaneously, making it difficult to ensure a good de-icing effect. Existing active impact de-icing devices, while having a good de-icing effect, all require energy (explosives, batteries, or electromagnetic coils) and must be manually or remotely triggered based on the icing conditions. They are difficult to use alone in the field for long periods of time and have limited applicability. Therefore, there is an urgent need to develop passive de-icing devices and de-icing methods that have a good de-icing effect, do not require energy supply, and can ensure automatic triggering after the line is covered with ice.

[0013] Summary of the Invention

[0014] To overcome the deficiencies of the above-mentioned prior art, the present application proposes a passive impact-type mechanical deicing device for overhead lines, comprising: an outer cover 2, an inner cover 4, an elastic energy storage mechanism, a collision control mechanism, and a collision mechanism; the top of the outer cover 2 is connected to an external tower B1; the outer cover 2 opens downward, the inner cover 4 is slidably inserted into the outer cover 2, and its bottom passes through the outer cover 2 and is connected to an external conductor B5;

[0015] The collision control mechanism includes a traction block 6, a claw, and a claw limiting cylinder that limits the opening of the claw; the traction block 6 and the claw are both arranged in the claw limiting cylinder, the inner cover 4 opens upward, the claw limiting cylinder is placed in the inner cover 4, and its top passes through the opening of the inner cover 4 and is fixedly connected to the top plate of the outer cover 2; the claw is used to retract or release the traction block 6; the traction block 6 is fixedly connected to the inner cover 4, and is used to pull the claw out of the restriction of the claw limiting cylinder;

[0016] The elastic energy storage mechanism includes a first elastic member 8 and a second elastic member 9. The two ends of the first elastic member 8 are respectively connected to the top of the inner cover 4 and the bottom of the clamping claw limiting cylinder, and the two ends of the second elastic member 9 are respectively connected to the top of the clamping claw and the inner wall of the clamping claw limiting cylinder. When the inner cover 4 slides down, it squeezes the first elastic member 8, and when the clamping claw slides down, it squeezes the second elastic member 9, thereby accumulating the load generated by ice covering the wire.

[0017] The collision mechanism is arranged between the outer cover 2 and the inner cover 4 . After the claw releases the traction block 6 , the collision mechanism collides with the relative movement of the inner cover 4 and the outer cover 2 .

[0018] In the above scheme, there is a gap between the outer wall of the inner cover 4 and the inner wall of the outer cover 2, and the collision mechanism includes an inner cover collision ring 5 and an outer cover collision ring 3. The inner cover collision ring 5 is arranged on the outer wall of the inner cover 4, and the outer cover collision ring 3 is arranged on the inner wall of the outer cover 2 and is located below the inner cover collision ring 5; after the claw releases the traction block 6, the inner cover collision ring 5 and the outer cover collision ring 3 collide with each other.

[0019] In the above solution, the traction block 6 is a spherical traction block.

[0020] In the above solution, a connecting rod 7 is provided on the upper surface of the bottom plate of the inner cover 4 , and the traction block 6 is fixedly connected to the inner cover 4 through the connecting rod 7 . The diameter of the connecting rod 7 is smaller than the diameter of the traction block 6 .

[0021] In the above solution, the claw includes a claw hook seat 10, a claw hook leg 11 and a claw hook foot 12 connected in sequence, and the traction block 6 is placed in the claw hook seat 10;

[0022] The top end of the claw hook leg 11 is connected to the bottom end of the claw hook seat 10 through a first connecting piece that is elastically folded outwards;

[0023] The top end of the claw hook foot 12 is connected to the bottom end of the claw hook leg 11 via a second connecting piece that is elastically folded inwards;

[0024] The inner wall of the clamping claw limiting cylinder is in sliding contact with the claw hook leg 11, limiting the claw hook leg 11 from elastically folding outwards; when the claw hook leg 11 is limited from elastically folding outwards, the claw hook foot 12 limits the traction block 6 from separating from the clamping claw.

[0025] In the above solution, both the first connecting member and the second connecting member are spring hinges.

[0026] In the above solution, the first elastic member 8 and the second elastic member 9 are both springs. The first elastic member 8 is sleeved on the outside of the claw limiting cylinder, and the second elastic member 9 is sleeved on the outside of the claw hook seat 10.

[0027] In the above scheme, the claw limiting cylinder includes a cylinder body 1 and an annular boss 13 arranged in the middle of the inner wall of the cylinder body 1. The cylinder body 1 is placed in the inner cover 4 and its top is fixedly connected to the top plate of the outer cover 2. The claw hook seat 10, claw hook leg 11 and claw hook foot 12 are all located in the cylinder body 1, and the inner wall of the annular boss 13 is in sliding contact with the claw hook leg 11.

[0028] In the above scheme, an annular inward-expanding flange is provided on the top of the inner cover 4, a first annular outward-expanding flange is provided on the bottom of the claw limiting cylinder, and the two ends of the first elastic member 8 are respectively connected to the annular inward-expanding flange and the first annular outward-expanding flange; a second annular outward-expanding flange is provided on the top of the claw hook seat 10, and the two ends of the second elastic member 9 are respectively connected to the second annular outward-expanding flange and the annular boss 13.

[0029] Based on the same application concept, this application also provides a passive impact mechanical deicing method for overhead lines, comprising:

[0030] As the wire B5 gradually becomes covered with ice, the inner cover 4 connected to the wire B5 slides downward relative to the outer cover 2, squeezing the first elastic member 8. Subsequently, the traction block 6 connected to the inner cover 4 contacts the claw, driving the claw to slide downward. The claw continues to slide downward, squeezing the second elastic member 9 to store energy.

[0031] When the weight of ice covering the wire B5 reaches a preset threshold, the clamping claw is freed from the restriction of the clamping claw limit cylinder and opens, the traction block 6 is released, and the clamping claw is reset under the action of the second elastic member 9. At the same time, the energy stored in the second elastic member 9 is released, and the inner cover 4 loses the support force of the second elastic member 9 and accelerates downward movement, triggering the collision mechanism to generate an instantaneous impact load, which prevents the inner cover 4 from continuing to move downward, causing the wire B5 to vibrate and break the ice.

[0032] After the collision mechanism produces a collision, under the elastic force of the first elastic member 8, the inner cover 4 and the traction block 6 move upward, and the clamping claw retracts the traction block 6 and waits for the next action.

[0033] Compared with the closest prior art, the present application has the following beneficial effects:

[0034] The present application provides a passive impact mechanical de-icing device for overhead lines, which includes an elastic energy storage mechanism that accumulates the load generated by the line ice itself. When the load exceeds a set threshold, the collision mechanism is automatically triggered by the collision control mechanism, and the action of the collision mechanism generates an instantaneous impact load, which drives the conductor to vibrate, thereby removing the ice on the ground wire. After the ice is removed, the collision control mechanism automatically resets and waits for the next action. It does not require a power source, and can automatically trigger collision and reset according to the changes in ice coverage. It does not require manual intervention, which not only ensures the de-icing effect and avoids large-scale vibration of the conductor when breaking the ice, but also greatly improves the reliability and safety of the device and the operation process, reduces the occurrence of safety accidents in de-icing operations, and is suitable for long-term operation in harsh outdoor environments. [0039] The specific implementation methods of this application are further described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings.

[0040] Example 1:

[0041] The present application provides a schematic structural diagram of a passive impact-type mechanical deicing device for overhead lines, as shown in FIG1 , comprising: an outer cover 2, an inner cover 4, an elastic energy storage mechanism, a collision control mechanism, and a collision mechanism; the top of the outer cover 2 is connected to an external tower B1; the outer cover 2 opens downward, the inner cover 4 is slidably inserted into the outer cover 2, and its bottom passes through the outer cover 2 and is connected to an external conductor B5;

[0042] The collision control mechanism includes a traction block 6, a claw, and a claw limiting cylinder that limits the opening of the claw; the traction block 6 and the claw are both arranged in the claw limiting cylinder, the inner cover 4 opens upward, the claw limiting cylinder is placed in the inner cover 4, and its top passes through the opening of the inner cover 4 and is fixedly connected to the top plate of the outer cover 2; the claw is used to retract or release the traction block 6; the traction block 6 is fixedly connected to the inner cover 4, and is used to pull the claw out of the restriction of the claw limiting cylinder;

[0043] The elastic energy storage mechanism includes a first elastic member 8 and a second elastic member 9.

[0044] The collision mechanism is arranged between the outer cover 2 and the inner cover 4 . After the claw releases the traction block 6 , the collision mechanism collides with the relative movement of the inner cover 4 and the outer cover 2 .

[0045] The outer cover 2 with the downward opening can prevent wind and rain from entering the device and corroding the internal structure, thereby ensuring that the device can operate normally for a long time in the wild.

[0046] In this embodiment, the claw hook legs 11 and claw hook feet 12 are both multiple and the number is the same and one-to-one corresponding. The multiple claw hook legs 11 and claw hook feet 12 are all arranged circumferentially along the bottom of the claw hook seat 10. When the claw hook legs 11 are restricted from elastically folding outward, the through holes formed between the multiple claw hook feet 12 can only allow the connecting rod 7 to pass through, and cannot allow the traction block 6 to pass through.

[0047] There is a gap between the outer wall of the inner cover 4 and the inner wall of the outer cover 2. The collision mechanism includes an inner cover collision ring 5 and an outer cover collision ring 3. The inner cover collision ring 5 is arranged on the outer wall of the inner cover 4, and the outer cover collision ring 3 is arranged on the inner wall of the outer cover 2 and is located below the inner cover collision ring 5. After the claw releases the traction block 6, the inner cover collision ring 5 and the outer cover collision ring 3 collide with each other.

[0048] Specifically, the inner cover collision ring 5 does not contact the outer cover 2 , and the outer cover collision ring 3 does not contact the inner cover 4 , so as to avoid friction affecting the collision effect.

[0049] By controlling the distance between the inner cover collision ring 5 and the outer cover collision ring 3, the collision intensity is controlled, so that the ice covering the wire is partially or completely broken, and the breaking amount is controlled within an appropriate range to avoid large-scale line vibration caused by excessive ice shedding, thereby avoiding line damage.

[0050] The traction block 6 is a spherical traction block.

[0051] A connecting rod 7 is provided on the upper surface of the bottom plate of the inner cover 4 , and the traction block 6 is fixedly connected to the inner cover 4 via the connecting rod 7 . The diameter of the connecting rod 7 is smaller than the diameter of the traction block 6 .

[0052] Specifically, the connecting rod 7 does not contact the claw hook foot 12 , that is, its movement is not restricted by the claw hook foot 12 .

[0053] The surface shape of the spherical traction block is smooth, and it can be better separated from or recovered from the claws without causing jamming and affecting the release of energy of the elastic energy storage mechanism.

[0054] The claw comprises a claw hook seat 10, a claw hook leg 11 and a claw hook foot 12 connected in sequence, and the traction block 6 is placed in the claw hook seat 10;

[0055] The top end of the claw hook leg 11 is connected to the bottom end of the claw hook seat 10 through a first connecting piece that is elastically folded outwards;

[0056] The top end of the claw hook foot 12 is connected to the bottom end of the claw hook leg 11 via a second connecting piece that is elastically folded inwards;

[0057] The inner wall of the clamping claw limiting cylinder is in sliding contact with the claw hook leg 11, limiting the claw hook leg 11 from elastically folding outwards; when the claw hook leg 11 is limited from elastically folding outwards, the claw hook foot 12 limits the traction block 6 from separating from the clamping claw.

[0058] The first connecting member and the second connecting member are both spring hinges.

[0059] Specifically, the spring hinge between the claw hook seat 10 and the claw hook leg 11 opens outward and is compressed under the restriction of the annular boss 13, so that the claw hook leg 11 remains in a vertical state. After the claw hook leg 11 is freed from the restriction of the annular boss 13, it automatically turns outward under the action of the spring hinge, so that the bottom opening of the claw hook seat 10 is expanded, so that the traction block 6 can be separated from the clamping claw;

[0060] Specifically, the spring hinge opening between the claw hook leg 11 and the claw hook foot 12 is inward. When the traction block 6 needs to be reset after being disengaged from the claw, the traction block 6 pushes upward, causing the spring hinge connected to the claw hook foot 12 to be compressed and folded inward, driving the claw hook foot 12 to flip upward, so that the traction block 6 can smoothly enter the claw hook seat 10 and complete the reset.

[0061] The first elastic member 8 and the second elastic member 9 are both springs. The first elastic member 8 is sleeved on the outside of the claw limiting cylinder, and the second elastic member 9 is sleeved on the outside of the claw hook seat 10.

[0062] The claw limiting cylinder includes a cylinder body 1 and an annular boss 13 arranged in the middle of the inner wall of the cylinder body 1.

[0063] Specifically, the first elastic member 8 is sleeved on the cylinder 1, the claw hook seat 10 is a cylindrical shell, and the second elastic member 9 is sleeved on the cylindrical shell.

[0064] Specifically, the claw hook leg 11 moves downward under the traction of the traction block 6, and after being separated from the annular boss 13, it elastically folds outward to release the traction block 6.

[0065] Specifically, the impact force generated by the deicing device can be flexibly adjusted based on line structural parameters and the designed ice thickness by varying the stiffness of the first and second elastic members 8 and 9, as well as the dimensions and installation locations of key components. This allows for adaptation to transmission lines of varying voltage levels and varying ice thicknesses. Key components include the pull block 6, annular boss 13, inner cover impact ring 5, and outer cover impact ring 3.

[0066] The top of the inner cover 4 is provided with an annular inward-expanding flange, the bottom of the claw limiting cylinder is provided with a first annular outward-expanding flange, and the two ends of the first elastic member 8 are respectively connected to the annular inward-expanding flange and the first annular outward-expanding flange; the top of the claw hook seat 10 is provided with a second annular outward-expanding flange, and the two ends of the second elastic member 9 are respectively connected to the second annular outward-expanding flange and the annular boss 13.

[0067] Each flange provides a more stable installation base for the elastic member, so that the compression and release of the first elastic member 8 and the second elastic member 9 are smoother.

[0068] Example 2:

[0069] Based on the same application concept, this application also provides a passive impact mechanical deicing method for overhead lines. The method flow chart is shown in FIG3 . The method includes:

[0070] As the wire B5 gradually becomes covered with ice, the inner cover 4 connected to the wire B5 slides downward relative to the outer cover 2, squeezing the first elastic member 8. Subsequently, the traction block 6 connected to the inner cover 4 contacts the claw, driving the claw to slide downward. The claw continues to slide downward, squeezing the second elastic member 9 to store energy.

[0071] When the weight of ice covering the wire B5 reaches a preset threshold, the clamping claw is freed from the restriction of the clamping claw limit cylinder and opens, the traction block 6 is released, and the clamping claw is reset under the action of the second elastic member 9.

[0072] After the collision mechanism produces a collision, under the elastic force of the first elastic member 8, the inner cover 4 and the traction block 6 move upward, and the clamping claw retracts the traction block 6 and waits for the next action.

[0073] It should be noted that after a collision reset, the energy stored in the elastic energy storage mechanism is consumed, and the clamping claw cannot release the traction block 6 again, thereby preventing the wire B5 from vibrating too much.

[0074] Specifically, as shown in Figure 2, a tower connecting fitting connection end 14 is provided on the top of the outer cover 2, and the tower connecting fitting connection end 14 is connected to the tower B1 through a tower end fitting B2, such as a U-shaped ring. An insulator string / suspension wire clamp connection end 15 is provided at the bottom of the inner cover 4. The insulator string / suspension wire clamp connection end 15 is connected to the insulator string / suspension wire clamp B4 through the insulator string / suspension wire clamp connection fitting B3, and the conductor / ground wire B5 is connected to the lower end of the insulator string / suspension wire clamp B4; the weight and ice load of the conductor / ground wire B5 are transmitted to the de-icing device through the insulator string / suspension wire clamp B4 and the insulator string / suspension wire clamp connection fitting B3.

[0075] As the weight of ice on the conductor B5 increases, the inner cover 4 begins to move downward relative to the outer cover 2, the first elastic member 8 gradually compresses, and the traction block 6 in the traction block impact release reset mechanism moves downward under the drive of the inner cover 4. When the traction block 6 contacts the claw hook foot 12, it is locked by the claw hook foot 12.

[0076] When the weight of the ice continues to increase, the inner cover 4 continues to drive the traction block 6 to move downward, and the traction block 6 drives the lower claw hook foot 12, the claw hook leg 11, and the claw hook seat 10 to move downward together, and the second elastic member 9 is compressed under the action of the claw hook seat 10.

[0077] When the weight of the ice continues to increase and reaches a preset threshold, the claw hook foot 12 and the claw hook leg 11 disengage from the inner hole of the annular boss 13 in the cylinder 1, and the claw hook foot 12 reverses outward and opens, that is, the claw opens, releasing the traction block 6. At this time, the traction block 6 loses the force exerted on it by the second elastic member 9 through the claw hook, and the inner cover 4 accelerates downward movement;

[0078] When the inner cover 4 moves downward to a preset position, the inner cover collision ring 5 collides with the outer cover collision ring 3, causing the wire B5 connected to the inner cover 4 to vibrate significantly, and the ice on the wire B5 is partially or completely removed.

[0079] When the amount of ice shedding reaches a preset threshold, the inner cover 4 rebounds under the restoring force of the first elastic member 8, and the traction block 6 moves upward under the action of the inner cover 4. When the traction block 6 contacts the claw hook foot 12, the claw hook foot 12 retracts inward, and the traction block 6 enters the claw. The de-icing work is completed, and the entire device waits for the next ice trigger.
