Abstract

The invention relates to a method, system, and device for protecting an anastomosis between at least two lumens of a body. The method includes identifying a requirement of creating the anastomosis between a first lumen and a second lumen of the at least two lumens of the body. The method further placing a tube made up of a biodegradable material, at a level of the anastomosis, inside the at least two lumens during the anastomosis or after the anastomosis, through a delivery system. It should be noted that the tube covers the anastomosis. The method further includes securing the tube at the level of the anastomosis to seal the tube against walls of the at least two lumens; and protecting the anastomosis by preventing a contact between the anastomosis and luminal contents associated with the at least two lumens of the body, through the tube.
