Description

Complex powder and cosmetics

[0001] The present invention relates to a composite powder and a cosmetic.

[0002] One of the purposes of cosmetics is to make skin appear smooth and beautiful by concealing morphological problems such as wrinkles, pores, and rough texture, as well as discoloration problems such as blemishes and freckles. In recent years, emphasis has been placed on a natural, unartificial finish (bare skin feel). A natural finish of cosmetics is evaluated when it is free of unnatural luster (gloss), has excellent uniformity of cosmetic film application, and has high transparency. Traditionally, titanium dioxide pigments, which have a high refractive index and hiding properties, have been used in cosmetics, but the texture produced a dull, unnatural finish that was far from the impression of translucent skin.

[0003] Pearl pigments, which are plate-shaped powders coated with metal oxides, are commonly known. Pearl pigments utilize light interference to produce a wide range of distinctive colors. Patent Document 1 discloses a method of blending fine pearl pigments and spherical resin powders in optimal amounts and ratios. However, the optical properties of the pearl pigments and spherical resin powders cancel each other out, making it impossible to achieve a satisfactory finish.

[0004] Meanwhile, many new materials and technologies have been proposed to achieve a natural finish. In particular, cosmetics containing various diffuse reflective powders are known as a method for concealing morphological defects. Patent Document 2 discloses a flaky fine powder in which spherical silica particles are coated on the surface of a flaky material such as natural mica. This flaky fine powder uses spherical particles that have a high surface diffuse scattering effect for light. Therefore, when this flaky fine powder is used as a cosmetic ingredient, it is said to have the following technical effects: "It is possible to suppress the gloss of the corners of the mica substrate and to achieve a so-called soft focus effect, such as making fine wrinkles less noticeable. It is also possible to obtain cosmetics with significantly improved smoothness and feel during use." However, because the flaky fine powder has excellent smoothness, cosmetics containing this powder tend to smudge upon application, making it difficult to apply the cosmetic evenly, and thus failing to achieve a natural finish.

[0005] Patent Document 3 discloses a composite powder in which a silicone elastomer is attached to a core powder such as an inorganic powder, an organic powder, or an inorganic-organic composite powder. While the light diffusion effect on skin troubles was satisfactory, the silicone elastomer provided a soft feel, leaving room for improvement in terms of smoothness. Furthermore, the composite powders in Patent Documents 2 and 3 do not exhibit a monodisperse particle size distribution for the particles attached to the base particles, so further research is needed to correct skin tone troubles such as blemishes and freckles and achieve a more natural-looking skin.

[0006] Japanese Patent Publication No. 2005-097218 Japanese Patent Publication No. 2784261 Japanese Patent Publication No. 5359593

[0007] The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and aims to provide a composite powder and a cosmetic which give a natural finish with transparency while correcting unevenness of the skin, and further give the effect of making the skin brighter while suppressing unnatural luster, and which also have an excellent feeling of use such as smoothness.

[0008] In order to solve the above problems, the present invention provides a composite powder in which spherical silica is fixed to a pearl pigment.

[0009] Such a composite powder can correct unevenness of the skin while providing a natural finish with transparency, and can also suppress unnatural luster while providing the effect of brightening the skin, and can also be a composite powder that is excellent in terms of feel when used, such as smoothness.

[0010] In the present invention, the amount of the spherical silica is preferably in the range of 10 to 50 parts by mass relative to 100 parts by mass of the pearl pigment.

[0011] Such a composite powder provides the structural color and light scattering effect of the coated spherical silica and the interference color effect of the pearl pigment, without producing the luster of the pearl pigment.

[0012] In the present invention, the average particle size of the spherical silica is preferably in the range of 100 to 500 nm.

[0013] Such spherical silica has excellent adhesion to the surface of the pearl pigment, making it possible to uniformly coat the pearl pigment.

[0014] In the present invention, the particle size distribution of the spherical silica is preferably monodisperse.

[0015] Such composite powder does not have a uniform particle size, and the structural color exhibited by the spherical silica does not weaken.

[0016] In the present invention, the hue angle difference Δh between the interference color due to reflection of the pearl pigment and the structural color due to reflection of the spherical silica is preferably in the range of 0 to 90.

[0017] Such a composite powder can further enhance the effects of the present invention.

[0018] In the present invention, it is preferable that the spherical silica is chemically fixed to the pearl pigment with a binder.

[0019] Such a composite powder prevents the spherical silica fixed to the pearl pigment from peeling off due to mechanical stress during the production of cosmetics, and can still exert its effects even after the cosmetics production process.

[0020] In this case, the binder is preferably a resin or silica.

[0021] With such a composite powder, the spherical silica is fixed to the surface of the pearl pigment, making it difficult for the silica to fall off from the surface of the pearl pigment, and it is possible to impart a better feeling to the product when in use.

[0022] The binder is preferably contained in an amount of 5 to 50 parts by mass relative to 100 parts by mass of the total amount of the pearl pigment and the spherical silica.

[0023] With such a composite powder, the spherical silica is sufficiently fixed to the surface of the pearl pigment, the texture is not hard, and the powder does not aggregate.

[0024] It is also preferable that the composite powder has been subjected to a hydrophobic surface treatment.

[0025] Such a composite powder can impart or improve water repellency and improve dispersibility in oil agents.

[0026] The present invention also provides a cosmetic composition containing the above-described composite powder.

[0027] Such a cosmetic product will give a natural finish with transparency while correcting unevenness of the skin, and will also have the effect of brightening the skin while suppressing unnatural luster, and will also be a cosmetic product with excellent usability such as smoothness.

[0028] In this case, the cosmetic is preferably a skin care cosmetic.

[0029] The cosmetic is preferably a makeup cosmetic.

[0030] The cosmetic of the present invention can be used for such purposes.

[0031] The present invention also provides a composite powder in which spherical powder is fixed to a pearl pigment.

[0032] Such a composite powder can correct unevenness of the skin while providing a natural finish with transparency, and can also suppress unnatural luster while providing the effect of brightening the skin, and can also be a composite powder that is excellent in terms of feel when used, such as smoothness.

[0033] According to the present invention, it is possible to provide a composite powder that gives a natural finish with transparency while correcting unevenness of the skin, and further imparts the effect of brightening the skin while suppressing unnatural luster, and also has excellent usability such as smoothness, and a cosmetic containing the same.

[0034] As described above, there has been a demand for the development of a composite powder and a cosmetic composition that can correct unevenness of the skin while providing a natural finish with a sense of transparency, and that can also have the effect of brightening the skin while suppressing unnatural luster, and that also has an excellent feel in use, such as smoothness.

[0035] As a result of extensive research into solving the above problems, the present inventors have found that a composite powder in which spherical silica or spherical powder is fixed to a pearl pigment can correct unevenness of the skin while providing a natural finish with a sense of transparency, and can also have the effect of brightening the skin while suppressing unnatural luster, and also has excellent usability such as smoothness, which led to the completion of the present invention.

[0036] That is, the present invention is a composite powder in which spherical silica is fixed to a pearl pigment.

[0037] The present invention also provides a composite powder in which spherical powder is fixed to a pearl pigment.

[0038] The present invention will be described in detail below. In the present invention, ingredient names may be written in cosmetic name or International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients (INCI). When the cosmetic name and INCI correspond to each other, the English name may be omitted.

[0039] [Composite Powder] The composite powder of the present invention is a pearl pigment to which spherical silica or spherical powder is fixed. Each component contained in the composite powder of the present invention will be described in detail below.

[0040] [Pearl pigment] The pearl pigment of the present invention is formed by forming a coating layer mainly composed of titanium oxide or iron oxide on the surface of a plate-like powder, such as mica, talc, sericite, synthetic fluorophlogopite, or glass flake, and the surface of the plate-like powder is uniformly coated with a colorant such as titanium oxide, iron oxide, silicon oxide, Prussian blue, chromium oxide, tin oxide, chromium hydroxide, gold, silver, carmine, or an organic pigment.

[0041] The pearl pigment of the present invention preferably has an average particle size of 1 μm to 300 μm, more preferably 2 μm to 200 μm, even more preferably 5 μm to 100 μm, and particularly preferably 5 μm to 60 μm, as determined by microscopic observation. The average particle size is the average value of the maximum length of the flaky powder. If the average particle size is 1 μm or more, the finished product will have excellent transparency, and if it is 300 μm or less, the gloss will be appropriate.

[0042] The pearl pigment can be any pigment that is generally used in cosmetics, without any particular limitation.

[0043] Commercially available pearl pigments include, for example, the Flamenco series (manufactured by DIC Corporation) such as Flamenco Superpearl, Flamenco Ultra Sparkle, Flamenco Red, Flamenco Blue, Flamenco Green, Flamenco Super Red, Flamenco Summit Gold, Flamenco Sparkle Orange, Flamenco Satin Red, Flamenco Satin Violet, Flamenco Satin Blue, and Flamenco Twilight Red; Examples of such a pigment include the Timiron series (manufactured by Merck) such as Supersilk MP-1005, Timiron Supersheen MP-1001, Timiron Starluster MP-115, Timiron SynBeam Red, Timiron Silk Blue, Timiron Splendid Blue, and Timiron Starlight Blue; the Metashine series (manufactured by Nippon Sheet Glass Co., Ltd.) such as Metashine MT1040, MT1080, MT1120, and MC2080PS; and the Helios series (manufactured by Topy Industries, Ltd.) such as Helios R10, R20, and R100. The Colorona series (manufactured by Merck), Cosmicolor series (manufactured by Toyo Aluminum KK), Timica series, Cloisonne series, INTENZA series, SunPURO series (manufactured by DIC Corporation), Twinclepearl series (manufactured by Nihon Koken Co., Ltd.), FANTASPEARL series (manufactured by Nihon Koken Co., Ltd.), KOBOPEARL series (manufactured by KOBO Co., Ltd.), Glare series (manufactured by CQV Co., Ltd.), and the like can also be suitably used.

[0044] [Spherical Silica] The spherical silica used in the composite powder of the present invention will now be described. Generally, silica is roughly divided into wet-process silica and dry-process silica. The shape of the obtained silica varies, including spherical, plate-like, spindle-like, cubic, and amorphous, but spherical silica is used in the present invention.

[0045] If the particles are not spherical, when applied to a cosmetic, they will not function as a kind of ball bearing during application of the cosmetic, and the effect of dramatically improving the slipperiness of the composite powder will not be obtained.Furthermore, it will be difficult to achieve the effect of effectively scattering light on the surface of the cosmetic coating film and hiding skin morphological defects related to light reflection (soft focus effect).

[0046] In the spherical silica of the present invention, "spherical" includes not only perfect spheres but also slightly distorted spheres. The shape of such particles can be evaluated in terms of the circularity when the particles are projected two-dimensionally. Circularity is defined as (perimeter of a circle equal to the particle area) / (particle perimeter). Here, "spherical" in the present invention particularly means that the average circularity is in the range of 0.8 to 1. Preferably, it is 0.85 to 1, and more preferably 0.90 to 1. The circularity can be measured by analyzing images obtained using an electron microscope or the like.

[0047] The spherical silica used in the present invention may be hydrophilic spherical silica, or may be hydrophobic spherical silica obtained by subjecting the surface of spherical silica to a hydrophobic treatment.

[0048] In the case of hydrophilic spherical silica, dispersion in an aqueous component is preferred, and in the case of hydrophobic spherical silica, dispersion in an oily component is preferred.

[0049] As the spherical silica, any of silica, hydrous silica, dimethicone silicate, dimethyl silylated silica, etc., as defined by the cosmetic labeling name, can be suitably used.

[0050] It is known that silica nanoparticles can exhibit structural colors. Furthermore, the structural colors exhibited vary depending on the particle size of the resulting silica. To effectively exhibit a desired structural color, it is preferable for the particle size and shape to be uniform. Therefore, it is preferable that the spherical silica used in the composite powder of the present invention has a high degree of monodispersity.

[0051] The amount of the spherical silica is preferably in the range of 10 to 50 parts by mass, more preferably 10 to 40 parts by mass, and even more preferably 10 to 35 parts by mass, relative to 100 parts by mass of the pearl pigment.

[0052] When the amount of the spherical silica is 10 parts by mass or more relative to 100 parts by mass of the pearl pigment, the structural color and light scattering effect of the coated spherical silica can be obtained, and the luster of the pearl pigment is not exhibited, whereas when the amount is 50 parts by mass or less, the light scattering effect and the interference color effect of the pearl pigment can be obtained.

[0053] The average particle size of the spherical silica is preferably 100 to 500 nm. If the average particle size of the spherical silica is 100 nm or more, the structural color and light scattering effect of the coated spherical silica can be obtained, and the effect of correcting unevenness of the skin can be achieved. In addition, the contact area with the skin is reduced, resulting in excellent slip properties. If the average particle size is 500 nm or less, the spherical silica has excellent adhesion to the surface of the pearl pigment, enabling uniform coating of the pearl pigment, and is therefore excellent in the effect of covering skin color defects such as dullness, age spots, and freckles.

[0054] The above-mentioned average particle size indicates the value of the volume median diameter (D50). The volume median diameter (D50) is the particle diameter corresponding to 50% of the cumulative distribution when the volume particle size distribution is expressed as a cumulative distribution. The volume median diameter can be measured, for example, using a laser diffraction / scattering particle size distribution analyzer.

[0055] The particle size distribution of the spherical silica may be a mixture of polydispersed or monodispersed particles with a low degree of monodispersity, but monodispersed particles are more preferable when enhancing the effect of structural color. Specifically, the value of the volume particle size distribution D90 / D10 of the spherical silica is preferably 3 or less, more preferably 2.9 or less. In the particle size distribution of powder, the particle size at 10% cumulative from the smallest particle size side is called D10, and the particle size at 90% cumulative from the smallest particle size side is called D90. A D90 / D10 value of 3 or less, more preferably 2.9 or less, means that the particle size distribution is sharp (single) and that the silica is monodispersed spherical silica.

[0056] If the value of D90 / D10 is 3 or less, the particle size distribution is sharp, the particle size does not vary, and the structural color exhibited by the spherical silica does not weaken.

[0057] The method for producing spherical silica in the present invention is not particularly limited, and can be carried out by a known method such as a sol-gel method. The sol-gel method is a production method that includes adding a tetrafunctional silane compound to a mixture of a hydrophilic organic solvent such as alcohol, water, and a basic substance, reacting them to obtain a solvent dispersion containing hydrophilic spherical silica microparticles, and then drying the solvent to obtain a powder.

[0058] The method for producing spherical silica in the present invention will be described in more detail below, but is not limited thereto.

[0059] [Hydrophilic Spherical Silica] As a production example of hydrophilic spherical silica, 1,302.0 g of ethanol, 2.4 g of water, and 116.4 g of 28% aqueous ammonia are mixed, and the mixture is heated to 44°C. Then, 656.4 g of tetraethoxysilane and a mixed solution of 127.2 g of water and 37.2 g of 28% aqueous ammonia are added dropwise over 3 hours. The mixture is stirred for another 1 hour, and then heated to 100°C under normal pressure to replace the solvent with water, thereby obtaining monodispersed hydrophilic spherical silica.

[0060] [hydrophobic spherical silica] As the preparation example of hydrophobic spherical silica, mix 989.5g methanol, 135.5g water, 66.5g 28% ammonia water, adjust the temperature to 35 ℃, and add 436.5g tetramethoxysilane dropwise over 6 hours while stirring, then continue stirring for 0.5 hours to obtain the suspension of hydrophilic spherical silica microparticles.Add 4.4g methyltrimethoxysilane dropwise to this suspension over 0.5 hours at room temperature, and continue stirring for 12 hours to make the surface of silica microparticles hydrophobic, thereby obtain hydrophobic spherical silica microparticle dispersion.

[0061] Alternatively, 217.0 g of ethanol, 2.3 g of water, and 27.5 g of 28% aqueous ammonia were mixed, and the mixture was stirred at 60°C. A mixture of 547.0 g of tetraethoxysilane, 109.8 g of water, and 27.5 g of 28% aqueous ammonia was added dropwise over 3 hours. Hydrolysis was continued for 0.5 hours to obtain a solvent dispersion of hydrophilic spherical sol-gel silica microparticles. 4.7 g of methyltriethoxysilane was added dropwise to this dispersion at room temperature over 0.5 hours, and stirring was continued for 12 hours to obtain a dispersion of spherical silica in which some of the silanol groups present on the surface of the silica microparticles had been hydrophobized. 83.5 g of hexamethyldisilazane was then added to this dispersion at room temperature, and the mixture was heated to 50-60°C for 6 hours to trimethylsilylate the silanol groups. The solvent was then distilled off to obtain monodispersed hydrophobic spherical silica.

[0062] It is known that coloring occurs due to a fine periodic structure with a period on the order of the wavelength of visible light. This coloring is based on the diffraction and interference of light by the periodic structure and is generally referred to as structural color. Structural color has a unique luster and is characterized by its color changing depending on the viewing angle. Furthermore, colorants that exhibit structural color are useful because they do not fade because the coloring is based on the diffraction and interference of light. In the present invention, if structural color is desired using spherical silica, it is preferable that the particles are uniform. In this case, monodisperse is preferred. Monodisperse refers to a narrow particle size distribution, and the coefficient of variation of the particle size (the standard deviation of the particle size expressed as a percentage based on the average particle size) is preferably 10% or less, more preferably 5% or less.

[0063] The composite powder of the present invention is excellent in the color development of interference colors by combining the structural colors of the pearl pigment and spherical silica, regardless of the wavelength of light that is interfered with and colored depending on the combination. However, in order to effectively exhibit the effects of the present invention (especially the effect of improving color troubles), it is preferable to do as follows.

[0064] In order to develop structural colors, it is important to adjust the average particle size and monodispersity. When spherical silica is fixed to a plate-like powder, the average particle size and monodispersity of the spherical silica may change, but the average particle size and monodispersity of the spherical silica described above are those before being fixed to the plate-like powder.

[0065] A method for confirming the interference color due to reflection of the pearl pigment and the structural color due to reflection of the spherical silica in the present invention will be described below.

[0066] There are two methods for measuring object color: the "visual comparison method" and the "physical colorimetric method." The "visual comparison method" is a method of visually comparing a color sample (such as a standard color chart conforming to JIS Z 8721) with a test item to evaluate it. The "physical colorimetric method" is a method of measurement using colorimetric equipment, and there are two main types: 1. The "direct stimulus value reading method" measures the sample with three sensors that have nearly the same spectral response as the human eye, and directly measures the tristimulus values X, Y, and Z. 2. The "spectrophotometric method" disperses the light reflected from the sample using a diffraction grating or similar device, measures the reflectance, and performs integral calculations to calculate the tristimulus values X, Y, and Z.

[0067] In the present invention, the spectrophotometric method 2 was adopted as the color measurement method. A spectrophotometer was used as the color measurement device. An example of a spectrophotometer is the SE7700 manufactured by Nippon Denshoku Industries Co., Ltd. Most color measurement devices can calculate the obtained tristimulus values X, Y, and Z and display them in various color systems. In the present invention, the L color system was used. * a * b * The color space used was L * a * b *The color space was standardized by the International Commission on Illumination (CIE) in 1976, and is also adopted in Japan as JIS (JIS Z 8781-4). This index is a color space that is uniform to human perception, so it is easy to intuitively grasp what color it is from the numerical value.

[0068] Furthermore, when observing the interference color due to the reflection of the pearl pigment and the structural color due to the reflection of the spherical silica, the white appears emphasized due to the multiple scattering of visible light, making it difficult to clearly observe the color tone of the structural color with the pearl pigment alone or silica alone. Therefore, the scattering of visible light was suppressed by spreading the pearl pigment or spherical silica on black artificial leather, and color measurement was performed in a state where the structural color was highlighted. Specifically, 2 0.01 g of pearl pigment or spherical silica is applied to black artificial leather, and the applied sample is measured with a spectrophotometer to obtain the L * a * b * The values were calculated and the structural color was quantified.

[0069] The interference color due to reflection of the pearl pigment and the structural color due to reflection of the spherical silica may be similar or different, but if they are similar, the optical properties of both the pearl pigment and the spherical silica act synergistically, imparting a high quality texture to the cosmetic product with complex optical properties.

[0070] A method for confirming the similarity between the interference color due to reflection of the pearl pigment and the structural color due to reflection of spherical silica in the present invention will be described below.

[0071] When evaluating structural colors, the CIE L * a * b * Color Space and L * C * h color space was used. * The value is brightness, a * is redness (+a * is the red direction, -a * green direction), b * is yellowish (+b * is yellow direction, -b * indicates the blue direction). * The value represents saturation, and the h value represents the hue angle, and is calculated using the following formula: The brightness of the pearl pigment is L * P , a * The value is a * P , b * The value is b * P , saturation C * P , hue angle is h P , the lightness of the spherical silica is L * S , a * The value is a * S , b * The value is b * S , saturation C * S , hue angle is h S In addition, the hue angle difference Δh between the pearl pigment and the spherical silica is defined as an index for evaluating the similarity between the interference color due to reflection of the pearl pigment and the structural color due to reflection of the spherical silica. The L of the pearl pigment and the monodispersed spherical silica is defined as * a * b * Color difference ΔE * ab ps of where: The indices of similarity Δh and ΔE defined above are * ab ps Using (where α and β are positive real numbers.) This allows us to evaluate the similarity of the optical properties of both the pearl pigment and the spherical silica.

[0072] The structural color of the spherical silica coated on the pearl pigment is not limited, and the interference color due to reflection of the pearl pigment and the structural color due to reflection of the spherical silica do not have to match, but to further enhance the effect, it is preferable that the interference color due to reflection of the pearl pigment and the structural color due to reflection of the spherical silica are similar. Preferably, the hue angle difference Δh between the interference color due to reflection of the pearl pigment and the structural color due to reflection of the spherical silica is in the range of 0 to 90, more preferably Δh is in the range of 0 to 45.

[0073] For example, when the composite powder of the present invention is blended into foundation or the like, by using a composite powder made of a pearl pigment having a red interference color and spherical silica having a red structural color, it is expected that the effect of making the skin look brighter and healthier while suppressing the glossiness caused by the interference color of the pearl pigment. In addition to the effect of making the skin look brighter, by combining an appropriate pearl pigment and spherical silica, a color correction effect can also be expected for skin with color problems.

[0074] As long as the desired effect of the present invention is obtained, the spherical silica may be electrostatically adsorbed, but it is preferable that the spherical silica be chemically fixed to the pearl pigment with a binder. The binder for fixing the spherical silica to the pearl pigment is not particularly limited, but resin or silica is preferred. By using resin or silica as a binder to fix the spherical silica to the surface of the pearl pigment to form a composite powder, the spherical silica is fixed to the surface of the pearl pigment and becomes less likely to fall off from the surface of the pearl pigment, making it possible to impart a better feel to the product. The use of a binder prevents the spherical silica fixed to the pearl pigment from peeling off due to mechanical stress during the production of cosmetics, making it possible to maintain the effect even after the cosmetics production process.

[0075] When silica is used as a binder, its shape may be film-like or granular, and it may be partially or entirely attached to the surface of the pearl pigment and / or the surface of the spherical silica. The silica may be non-porous or porous. The porous silica may be microporous, mesoporous, or macroporous. In the case of mesoporous silica, the fine pores and large specific surface area have the effect of sustaining the effects of the cosmetic coating film through light scattering and sebum absorption. The silica used as a binder is not particularly limited, but silica obtained by the hydrolysis and condensation reaction of tetraalkoxysilane is preferred.

[0076] When a resin is used as the binder, examples of the binder include condensates of trialkoxysilanes such as methyltrimethoxysilane, methyltriethoxysilane, ethyltrimethoxysilane, ethyltriethoxysilane, n-propyltrimethoxysilane, isopropyltrimethoxysilane, isopropyltriethoxysilane, butyltrimethoxysilane, butyltriethoxysilane, hexyltrimethoxysilane, trifluoropropyltrimethoxysilane, trifluoropropyltriethoxysilane, heptadecafluorodecyltrimethoxysilane, and heptadecafluorodecyltriethoxysilane. Condensates of methyltrimethoxysilane and methyltriethoxysilane are preferred, and condensates of methyltrimethoxysilane are more preferred.

[0077] The amount of binder is not particularly limited, but is preferably in the range of 5 to 50 parts by mass, more preferably 10 to 40 parts by mass, and even more preferably 15 to 30 parts by mass, relative to 100 parts by mass of the total amount of the pearl pigment and the spherical silica. If the amount is 5 parts by mass or more, the spherical silica is sufficiently fixed to the surface of the pearl pigment, and if the amount is 50 parts by mass or less, the texture does not become hard and aggregation of the powder does not occur.

[0078] Furthermore, when the spherical silica is fixed to the pearl pigment via a binder, it is necessary to fix the spherical silica in the presence of one or more cationic compounds selected from cationic surfactants and cationic water-soluble polymer compounds. This cationic compound not only acts as a catalyst when fixing the spherical silica, but also as a dispersant for the pearl pigment.

[0079] The cationic compound is at least one selected from cationic surfactants and cationic water-soluble polymer compounds.

[0080] Examples of cationic surfactants include alkyltrimethylammonium salts, dialkyldimethylammonium salts, polyoxyethylenealkyldimethylammonium salts, dipolyoxyethylenealkylmethylammonium salts, tripolyoxyethylenealkylammonium salts, alkylbenzyldimethylammonium salts, alkylpyridium salts, monoalkylamine salts, and monoalkylamidoamine salts.

[0081] Examples of cationic water-soluble polymer compounds include dimethyldiallylammonium chloride polymers, vinylimidazoline polymers, methylvinylimidazolium chloride polymers, ethyl acrylate trimethylammonium chloride polymers, ethyl methacrylate trimethylammonium chloride polymers, acrylamidopropyl trimethylammonium chloride polymers, methacrylamidopropyl trimethylammonium chloride polymers, epichlorohydrin / dimethylamine polymers, ethyleneimine polymers, quaternized ethyleneimine polymers, allylamine hydrochloride polymers, polylysine, cationic starch, cationized cellulose, chitosan, and derivatives thereof copolymerized with a monomer having a nonionic group or an anionic group.

[0082] The amount of the cationic compound is preferably 0.01 to 2 parts by mass, more preferably 0.02 to 1 part by mass, per 100 parts by mass of water used in the fixation reaction.Within this range, the spherical silica is sufficiently fixed onto the surface of the pearl pigment.

[0083] By compounding spherical silica with a pearlescent pigment, the composite powder of the present invention imparts lubricity and corrects skin irregularities through the spherical silica on the surface, and the effects of the pearlescent pigment and spherical silica suppress unnatural luster. When blended into foundations and the like, it imparts a natural, transparent finish and can also impart a skin brightening effect. In addition to the skin brightening effect, combining an appropriate pearlescent pigment with spherical silica is expected to have a color correction effect on skin with color problems. Furthermore, the use of a binder increases the strength of the composite powder, enabling it to withstand the mechanical stress expected in the cosmetic manufacturing process, thereby maintaining the effects of the composite powder of the present invention.

[0084] In order to impart or improve water repellency and improve dispersibility in oil agents, the composite powder of the present invention is preferably subjected to a hydrophobic surface treatment on the surface of the composite powder with a silylating agent, silicone oil, waxes, paraffins, organic fluorine compounds, surfactants, etc. That is, the composite powder is preferably one that has been subjected to a hydrophobic surface treatment.

[0085] The treatment agent for carrying out the hydrophobic surface treatment (hydrophobic treatment agent) is not particularly limited as long as it can impart hydrophobicity, and examples thereof include silicone treatment agents, waxes, paraffins, organic fluorine compounds such as perfluoroalkyl phosphates, surfactants, amino acids such as N-acyl glutamic acid, and metal soaps such as aluminum stearate and magnesium myristate.

[0086] More preferred are silicone treatment agents, such as silanes or silylating agents such as triethoxycaprylylsilane (INCI), trimethoxysilyl dimethicone (INCI), trimethylhydroxysilane, chlorosilane, alkoxysilane, disiloxane, and disilazane, dimethicone (INCI), methicone (INCI), hydrogen dimethicone (INCI), triethoxysilylethyl polydimethylsiloxyethyl dimethicone (INCI), triethoxysilylethyl polydimethylsiloxyethylhexyl dimethicone (INCI), and (Acrylates / Tridecyl Acrylate / Triethoxysilylpropyl Methacrylate / Dimethicone Methacrylate) Copolymer (InCI: Acrylates / Tridecyl Acrylate / Triethoxysilylpropyl Methacrylate). In particular, when treated with silanes, pearly luster is suppressed and the effect of making the skin look brighter is obtained, which is preferable.

[0087] Specific examples of these silicone treating agents include AES-3083, KF-99P, KF-9901, KF-9908, KF-9909, KP-574, and KP-541, all manufactured by Shin-Etsu Chemical Co., Ltd.

[0088] Even when the dispersion medium for dispersing the powder is silicone, hydrocarbon, or a mixture thereof, triethoxysilylethyl polydimethylsiloxyethylhexyl dimethicone (KF-9909, manufactured by Shin-Etsu Chemical Co., Ltd.), which is a dimethylpolysiloxane having triethoxysilyl groups, polydimethylsiloxyethyl groups, and hexyl groups on its side chains, is also preferred, in terms of exhibiting high affinity.

[0089] Furthermore, the above hydrophobic treatment agents can be used alone or in appropriate combination of two or more.

[0090] [Surface Treatment Method] The method for surface treating the composite powder of the present invention using a hydrophobic treatment agent is not particularly limited and can be carried out by any known method. Surface treatment methods can be broadly divided into dry methods and wet methods. In the dry method, for example, the composite powder of the present invention can be treated by mixing / contacting the hydrophobic treatment agent with any stirrer, grinder, mixer, or disperser, such as a Henschel mixer, ball mill, jet mill, kneader, planetary mixer, sand mill, attritor, ribbon blender, disperser mixer, or homomixer. During this treatment, energy such as heat, mechanochemical mechanical force, or superheated steam may be applied. Alternatively, after thoroughly mixing / contacting the composite powder of the present invention with the hydrophobic treatment agent, energy such as heat, mechanochemical mechanical force, or superheated steam may be applied separately to treat the composite powder. Furthermore, when the hydrophobic treatment agent is mixed with / contacted with the composite powder of the present invention, in order to improve the dispersion efficiency of the hydrophobic treatment agent, the hydrophobic treatment agent may be dissolved or dispersed in advance in an arbitrary amount of water, solvent, or supercritical fluid, and then sprayed onto the composite powder of the present invention. As a wet method, the composite powder of the present invention and the hydrophobic treatment agent are dispersed in water, solvent, or supercritical fluid, mixed / contacted, and then the solvent is evaporated, and further, energy such as heating, mechanochemical mechanical force, or superheated steam is separately applied to perform the treatment.

[0091] In order to effectively use the composite powder of the present invention, it is preferable to arrange the composite powder of the present invention in a state close to a monolayer on the surface of the skin or on the surface of a cosmetic coating. For example, when the composite powder of the present invention is used in a foundation or the like, it is preferable to spread it thinly and evenly. Furthermore, when the composite powder of the present invention is used in a cosmetic for finishing makeup or a cosmetic for touch-up makeup, the effects of the present invention are more effectively exhibited by an application method that allows the composite powder to form a thin film.

[0092] Here, the effect of the composite powder of the present invention on improving skin tone problems will be described in detail. The composite powder of the present invention can interfere with light of any wavelength and produce a color due to the optical interference effect of its structure. That is, when white light is incident on the composite powder of the present invention, the reflected interference light is different, and by changing the wavelength of the light to be a color close to the complementary color of the scattered light in the area that is recognized as skin tone problems, it is possible to make skin tone problems less noticeable.

[0093] To achieve the effect of concealing yellow-red color troubles among color troubles, it is preferable to blend the composite powder of the present invention into a cosmetic composition having a maximum reflection peak (yellow-red) at a wavelength of 400 to 550 nm. To achieve the effect of concealing blue-green color troubles, it is preferable to blend the composite powder of the present invention into a cosmetic composition having a maximum reflection peak (yellow-red) at a wavelength of 550 to 750 nm.

[0094] For example, to eliminate color troubles in which yellow-red color troubles (dullness, redness, etc.) are recognized over a wide range of skin, that is, color troubles in which scattered light has a wavelength in the range of 580 to 700 nm (yellow-red) and a wide variety of broad reflection peaks, it is preferable to use a composite powder of the present invention that can have a reflection peak in the wavelength range of 475 to 550 nm (blue-green).

[0095] Furthermore, color troubles can be more effectively solved by setting the color tone due to reflection of the composite powder of the present invention so that the reflected light selected and adopted for color troubles shifts to the longer wavelength side when eliminating "dullness," and the reflected light selected and adopted for color troubles shifts to the shorter wavelength side when eliminating "red face."

[0096] [Spherical Powder] The spherical powder used in the composite powder of the present invention will now be described. If the particles are not spherical, when used in cosmetics, they will not act as a kind of ball bearing during application of the cosmetic, and the effect of dramatically improving the slipperiness of the composite powder will not be obtained. Furthermore, it will be difficult to achieve the effect of effectively scattering light on the surface of the cosmetic coating film and hiding skin morphological defects related to light reflection (soft focus effect).

[0097] The term "spherical" in the spherical powder of the present invention is as explained above in relation to spherical silica.

[0098] Any known spherical powder can be used, and is not particularly limited, but spherical silica is preferred because it allows the production of powder with a high degree of monodispersity.

[0099] [Method of Manufacturing Composite Powder] The composite powder of the present invention can be manufactured by, for example, mixing the pearl pigment and hydrophilic spherical silica in a mixer and fixing them by electrostatic force. The type of mixer is not particularly limited, but an example thereof is a Sample Mill (Kyoritsu Riko Co., Ltd.).

[0100] Alternatively, the pearlescent pigment can be produced by, for example, uniformly mixing a pearlescent pigment with ion-exchanged water, adding a dispersion of spherical silica in the presence of one or more cationic compounds selected from cationic surfactants and cationic water-soluble polymer compounds, adding aqueous ammonia to make the system alkaline, adding a binder, and then aging the mixture, followed by filtering. For example, by this method, a composite powder in which spherical silica is chemically fixed to the pearlescent pigment with the binder is obtained.

[0101] [Cosmetics] The present invention relates to cosmetics containing the above-described composite powder. The cosmetics of the present invention can be applied to various types of cosmetics, but are particularly preferably used in cosmetics applied to the skin, such as skin care cosmetics, makeup cosmetics, antiperspirant cosmetics, and UV protection cosmetics, cosmetics applied to the hair, such as hair cosmetics, and cosmetics for nails.
