Description

Electronic devices and methods for controlling electronic devices

[0001] The present disclosure relates to an electronic device and a method for controlling the electronic device. More specifically, the present disclosure relates to an electronic device and a method for controlling the electronic device, which can determine whether to register a target device as a device constituting an IoT network.

[0002] Recently, technologies related to the Internet of Things (IoT) are rapidly developing. In particular, research is ongoing to reduce user intervention during the onboarding process, the process of registering devices for IoT network configuration.

[0003] As a conventional technology, there are various technologies that identify that a device registered to an IoT network and a device not registered to the IoT network are located in the same space by transmitting and receiving wireless signals such as inaudible frequency sound waves, infrared signals, Wi-Fi signals, and Bluetooth signals between devices, and register the device not registered to the IoT network based on this.

[0004] However, in the case of conventional technology, there is a problem that multipath may occur due to reflection, diffraction, etc. due to the characteristics of wireless signals, and therefore the signal reception strength may not be proportional to the distance. In addition, when there are moving objects (people, animals, electronic products, etc.) around the devices, the signal strength at one point may change over time due to the multipath fading phenomenon, in which the signal intensity and phase change as the signal is transmitted along multiple paths.

[0005] Due to the characteristics of wireless signals as described above, it has been pointed out that conventional technologies have limitations in simultaneously achieving usability and security in the process of registering devices for IoT network configuration.

[0006] Meanwhile, there are existing technologies that utilize methods to support short-range wireless communication protocols that operate via radio waves at high frequencies, such as UWB (ultra-wideband), but these technologies can only be applied to devices equipped with separate hardware.

[0007] One or more embodiments may provide an electronic device and a control method thereof that can efficiently and effectively perform a process of registering a device for forming an IoT network.

[0008] According to one or more embodiments for achieving the above-described object, an electronic device includes a communication interface, a memory storing at least one instruction, and at least one processor executing the at least one instruction, wherein the at least one processor controls the communication interface to configure a temporary network including the electronic device, a target device, and a transmitting device when a request for adding an Internet of Things (IoT) device is received, and when the temporary network is configured, receives a first signal from the transmitting device through the communication interface, obtains first information about a first change pattern of the first signal, receives second information about a second change pattern of a second signal transmitted to the target device by the transmitting device through the communication interface, and obtains a value representing a similarity between the first change pattern and the second change pattern based on the first information and the second information, and when the value representing the similarity is equal to or greater than a threshold value, identifies the target device as being in the same space as the electronic device, and registers the target device as the IoT device.

[0009] Meanwhile, the first change pattern may indicate a change in a signal caused by an object between the transmitting device and the electronic device, and the second change pattern may indicate a change in a signal caused by an object between the transmitting device and the target device.

[0010] Meanwhile, the electronic device may be a device pre-registered as the IoT device, and the transmitting device may be an access point (AP) connected to the electronic device.

[0011] Meanwhile, the first information and the second information may include at least one of the reception strength of the first signal and the second signal and the multipath of the first signal and the second signal.

[0012] Meanwhile, when a registration request is received from the target device through the communication interface, the at least one processor controls the communication interface to identify the target device as a device to participate in the temporary network and transmit a request for configuring the temporary network to the target device and the transmitting device, thereby configuring the temporary network.

[0013] Meanwhile, the at least one processor can obtain the first information by analyzing the first change pattern based on at least one of the type of the transmitting device and the type of the electronic device.

[0014] Meanwhile, the at least one processor can register the target device as the IoT device by controlling the communication interface to transmit information about the target device to a server providing a platform for IoT.

[0015] Meanwhile, the at least one processor may periodically receive the first signal from the transmitting device through the communication interface during a preset reception period when the temporary network is configured, and if the target device is identified as being in the same space as the electronic device before the preset reception period, transmit a request to the transmitting device not to transmit the first signal.

[0016] Meanwhile, the at least one processor periodically obtains the first information about the first change pattern, and periodically receives, from the target device through the communication interface, second information about the second change pattern that is periodically transmitted to the target device by the transmitting device, and periodically obtains, based on the first information and the second information, a value indicating a similarity between the first change pattern and the second change pattern, and when the value indicating the similarity obtained in the period is equal to or greater than the threshold value, increases a score indicating that the target device is in the same space as the electronic device, and when the score is equal to or greater than the threshold score, identifies the target device as being in the same space as the electronic device, and registers the target device as the IoT device.

[0017] Meanwhile, the at least one processor can input the first information and the second information into a learned neural network model to obtain a value indicating a similarity between the first change pattern and the second change pattern.

[0018] According to one or more embodiments for achieving the above-described object, a method for controlling an electronic device may include, when a request for adding an Internet of Things (IoT) device is received, configuring a temporary network including the electronic device, a target device, and a transmitting device; when the temporary network is configured, receiving a first signal from the transmitting device; obtaining first information about a first change pattern of the first signal; receiving, from the target device, second information about a second change pattern of a second signal transmitted to the target device by the transmitting device; obtaining a value representing a similarity between the first change pattern and the second change pattern based on the first information and the second information; and when the value representing the similarity is greater than or equal to a threshold value, identifying the target device as being in the same space as the electronic device and registering the target device as the IoT device.

[0019] Meanwhile, the first change pattern may indicate a change in a signal caused by an object between the transmitting device and the electronic device, and the second change pattern may indicate a change in a signal caused by an object between the transmitting device and the target device.

[0020] Meanwhile, the electronic device may be a device pre-registered as the IoT device, and the transmitting device may be an access point (AP) connected to the electronic device.

[0021] Meanwhile, the first information and the second information may include at least one of the reception strength of the first signal and the second signal and the multipath of the first signal and the second signal.

[0022] Meanwhile, the step of configuring the temporary network may include a step of identifying the target device as a device to participate in the temporary network when a registration request is received from the target device, and a step of configuring the temporary network so as to transmit a request for configuring the temporary network to the target device and the transmitting device.

In connection with the description of the drawings, similar reference numerals may be used for similar components.

[0040] In describing the present disclosure, if it is determined that a specific description of a related known function or configuration may unnecessarily obscure the gist of the present disclosure, a detailed description thereof will be omitted.

[0041] Additionally, the following embodiments may be modified in various other forms, and the scope of the technical concepts of the present disclosure is not limited to the following embodiments. Rather, these embodiments are provided to further faithfully and completely convey the technical concepts of the present disclosure to those skilled in the art.

[0042] The terminology used in this disclosure is for the purpose of describing specific embodiments only and is not intended to limit the scope of the rights. Singular expressions include plural expressions unless the context clearly dictates otherwise.

[0043] In this disclosure, expressions such as “has,” “can have,” “includes,” or “may include” indicate the presence of a corresponding feature (e.g., a component such as a number, function, operation, or part), and do not exclude the presence of additional features.

[0044] In this disclosure, expressions such as “A or B,” “at least one of A and / or B,” or “one or more of A or / and B” can include all possible combinations of the listed items. For example, “A or B,” “at least one of A and B,” or “at least one of A or B” can all refer to (1) including at least one A, (2) including at least one B, or (3) including both at least one A and at least one B.

[0045] The expressions “first,” “second,” “first,” or “second,” etc., used in this disclosure can describe various components, regardless of order and / or importance, and are only used to distinguish one component from another, but do not limit the components.

[0047] On the other hand, when it is said that a component (e.g., a first component) is "directly connected" or "directly connected" to another component (e.g., a second component), it can be understood that no other component (e.g., a third component) exists between said component and said other component.

[0048] The expression "configured to" as used in the present disclosure may be used interchangeably with, for example, "suitable for," "having the capacity to," "designed to," "adapted to," "made to," or "capable of." [0051] Meanwhile, the various elements and areas in the drawings are schematically drawn. Therefore, the technical concept of the present invention is not limited by the relative sizes or spacing depicted in the attached drawings.

[0052] Hereinafter, with reference to the attached drawings, embodiments according to the present disclosure will be described in detail so that a person having ordinary knowledge in the technical field to which the present disclosure pertains can easily implement the present disclosure.

[0053] FIG. 1 is a diagram illustrating an electronic device (100), a target device (200), and a transmitting device (300) according to one or more embodiments of the present disclosure, and FIG. 2 is a flowchart illustrating a method for controlling an electronic device (100) according to one or more embodiments of the present disclosure. Hereinafter, description will be made with reference to FIG. 1 and FIG. 2 together.

[0054] As illustrated in FIG. 1, a system according to the present disclosure may include an electronic device (100), a target device (200), and a transmitting device (300).

[0055] The term "electronic device (100)" refers to a device capable of determining whether to register a target device (200) as a device constituting an IoT (Internet of Things) network. Specifically, the electronic device (100) may be a device already registered as a device constituting an IoT network, and can identify whether it is appropriate to register the target device (200) as a device constituting an IoT network.

[0056] The process of 'registering the target device (200) as a device that constitutes an IoT network' may be referred to as so-called 'onboarding' (or easy setup, commissioning, etc.), and the electronic device (100) may be said to be a device that performs the role of a 'helper' in the sense that it is a device that assists the onboarding process of the target device (200).

[0057] The term 'target device (200)' refers to a device (i.e., an 'IoT device') that can be registered as a device constituting an IoT network. In other words, the target device (200) is a device that is not registered as a device constituting an IoT network, and refers to a candidate device that has the potential to be registered as a device constituting an IoT network.

[0058] A 'transmitting device (300)' refers to a device capable of transmitting (transmitting) a signal to another device. Specifically, the transmitting device (300) can transmit a signal to an electronic device (100) and a target device (200). The transmitting device (300) may be a device registered as a device (IoT device) constituting an IoT network, or may be an unregistered device.

[0059] Although the roles of the electronic device (100), the target device (200), and the transmitting device (300) are defined above, this is only an example, and as described below with reference to FIGS. 7 to 15, the roles of the electronic device (100), the target device (200), and the transmitting device (300) may differ from the roles defined above according to one or more embodiments, and additional roles different from the roles defined above may be added.

[0060] The electronic device (100) may be a device that is easy for a user to register as a device forming an IoT network, such as a smartphone, including a touch display, and the target device (200) may be a device that is relatively less easy for a user to register as a device forming an IoT network, such as a refrigerator or air conditioner. However, there are no particular limitations on the types of the electronic device (100) and the target device (200).

[0061] The transmitting device (300) may be an access point (AP) connected to the electronic device (100), but there is no particular limitation on the type of the transmitting device (300), and any device capable of transmitting a signal of the type according to the present disclosure to the electronic device (100) and the target device (200) may correspond to the transmitting device (300) according to the present disclosure.

[0062] FIG. 2 illustrates each process of a method for determining whether to register a target device (200) as a device constituting an IoT network based on signal transmission and reception between an electronic device (100), a target device (200), and a transmitting device (300). However, prior to that, the process of identifying the target device (200) and the transmitting device (300) will be described.

[0063] When a request for registration is received from a target device (200), the electronic device (100) can identify the target device (200) as a device to participate in the temporary network. For example, the target device (200) can broadcast a request for registration, and the electronic device (100) can receive a request for registration from the target device (200). Here, the 'request for registration' refers to a request for registration as a device constituting an IoT network, and can be broadcast by the target device (200) or transmitted in various ways such as unicasting or multicasting.

[0064] The electronic device (100) can identify one device other than the electronic device (100) and the target device (200) as the transmitting device (300). Specifically, the electronic device (100) can identify one of a plurality of devices connected to the electronic device (100) as the transmitting device (300). For example, the electronic device (100) can identify an access point connected to the electronic device (100) as the transmitting device (300), but is not limited thereto.

[0065] Referring to FIG. 2, the electronic device (100) may receive a request to add a device constituting an Internet of Things (IoT) network (S210). The request to add a device constituting an IoT network may be received based on user input, but may also be received based on the occurrence of a preset event, such as the arrival of a preset cycle or the reboot of the electronic device (100).

[0066] When a request to add a device to form an IoT network is received, the electronic device (100) can form a temporary network including the electronic device (100), the target device (200), and the transmitting device (300) (S220).

[0067] The electronic device (100) can configure a temporary network by transmitting a request for configuring a temporary network to the target device (200) and the transmitting device (300). Specifically, when the request for configuring a temporary network is transmitted to the target device (200) and the transmitting device (300), each of the target device (200) and the transmitting device (300) can transmit a response to the request for configuring a temporary network to the electronic device (100), thereby configuring a temporary network. The electronic device (100) can be said to be a device that performs the role of a 'proposer' in the sense that it is a device that proposes the configuration of a temporary network by transmitting a request for configuring a temporary network.

[0068] Here, the term 'temporary network' refers to a temporary network for transmitting and receiving signals (data or information) between an electronic device (100), a target device (200), and a transmitting device (300) to determine whether to register the target device (200) as a device forming a network, and is distinct from an IoT network formed by registered devices.

[0069] A 'request for configuration of a temporary network' may include at least one of information for identifying each of an electronic device (100), a target device (200), and a transmitting device (300), information on the type of signal received through the temporary network, information on the duration of the temporary network, and information on the reception period of the signal. The information on the reception period of the signal may include information on the reception cycle of the signal.

[0070] Information for identifying each of the electronic device (100), the target device (200), and the transmitting device (300) may include information about the addresses of the electronic device (100), the target device (200), and the transmitting device (300). Information about the type of signal received through the temporary network refers to information about what kind of signal will be transmitted and received through the temporary network. Information about the maintenance time of the temporary network refers to information about how long the temporary network will be maintained. Information about the signal reception period refers to information about the minimum time for transmitting and receiving a signal through the temporary network.

[0071] Once a temporary network is configured, the electronic device (100) can receive a first signal from the transmitting device (300) (S230). Then, the electronic device (100) can obtain first information about a change pattern of the first signal (S240). Meanwhile, the electronic device (100) can receive second information about a change pattern of a second signal transmitted to the target device (200) by the transmitting device (300) from the target device (200) (S250).

[0072] As illustrated in FIG. 1, in the description of the present disclosure, a wireless signal transmitted from a transmitting device (300) to an electronic device (100) is referred to as a 'first signal', and a wireless signal transmitted from the transmitting device (300) to a target device (200) is referred to as a 'second signal'. In addition, the first signal and the second signal may be collectively referred to as a 'wireless signal'.

[0073] Specifically, when a temporary network is configured, the transmitting device (300) can transmit wireless signals to the electronic device (100) and the target device (200), respectively. Then, the electronic device (100) can receive the first signal and obtain first information about the change pattern of the first signal. The target device (200) can receive the second signal, obtain second information about the change pattern of the second signal, and then transmit the second information to the electronic device (100). That is, the second signal is transmitted from the transmitting device (300) to the target device (200) while the first signal is being received from the transmitting device (300), and the second information can be obtained by the target device (200).

[0074] In particular, the transmitting device (300) can transmit a wireless signal to the electronic device (100) and the target device (200) for a preset time, respectively. The transmitting device (300) can periodically transmit a wireless signal to the electronic device (100) and the target device (200) for a preset time, respectively. Here, the length and period of the transmission time of the wireless signal are preferably determined by considering that the longer the length and period of the transmission time of the wireless signal, the greater the amount of information about the change pattern of the wireless signal, and thus the accuracy of the judgment may increase, while the time required for the judgment may increase. The length and period of the transmission time of the wireless signal may also be changed according to the settings of the user or developer.

[0075] The first information and the second information refer to information about the change patterns of the first signal and the second signal, respectively. Here, the 'signal change pattern' is a term that collectively refers to the time-series characteristics that indicate how the signal pattern changes over time. In particular, the signal pattern may change based on the presence of an object located between a device transmitting a signal and a device receiving a signal, the movement of the object, etc. In other words, the signal change pattern may indicate the presence of an object located between a device transmitting a signal and a device receiving a signal, and the movement of the object.

[0076] Specifically, the change pattern of the first signal may represent a change in the signal caused by an object between the transmitting device (300) and the electronic device (100), and the change pattern of the second signal may represent a change in the signal caused by an object between the transmitting device (300) and the target device (200). Here, the 'object' includes all objects that can change the pattern of the signal, such as people, animals, home appliances, walls, etc., and may include moving objects as well as objects fixed at a specific location.

[0077] The first information and the second information may include at least one of information regarding the reception strength of the first signal and the second signal and information regarding the multipath of the first signal and the second signal. In addition, the first information and the second information may further include information for identifying the target device (200) and the transmitting device (300), information regarding the reception period of the first signal and the second signal, and information regarding the operation type of the target device (200) and the transmitting device (300).

[0078] For example, the wireless signals, i.e., the first signal and the second signal, may be Wi-Fi signals or Bluetooth signals. Additionally, the wireless signals may be Wi-Fi channel state information (CSI) signals.

[0079] A Wi-Fi CSI signal is a signal that contains information such as the phase and amplitude of a wireless signal, as well as the received signal strength indicator (RSSI), expressed in units of subcarriers (or subchannels). Specifically, a Wi-Fi CSI signal may include information about the amplitude, phase, frequency, timestamp, and RSSI of the received signal, as well as a CSI matrix that indicates multipath and interference conditions for each subcarrier (or subchannel) of the received signal.

[0080] The electronic device (100) can obtain a value indicating the similarity between the change pattern of the first signal and the change pattern of the second signal based on the first information and the second information (S260). Specifically, the electronic device (100) can obtain a value indicating the similarity between the change pattern of the first signal and the change pattern of the second signal by comparing an attribute indicating the change pattern of the first signal and a characteristic indicating the change pattern of the second signal. For example, the electronic device (100) can obtain a value indicating the similarity between the change pattern of the first signal and the change pattern of the second signal by calculating the cosine similarity of the first signal and the second signal, performing a statistical analysis on the first signal and the second signal, or analyzing the spectrum of the first signal and the second signal.

[0081] The value indicating the degree of similarity between the change pattern of the first signal and the change pattern of the second signal may be higher as the change pattern of the first signal and the change pattern of the second signal are more similar, and may be lower as the change pattern of the first signal and the change pattern of the second signal are less similar. Here, the similarity of the change pattern of the first signal and the change pattern of the second signal may mean that the change pattern of the entire section of the first signal and the change pattern of the entire section of the second signal include similar patterns.

[0082] The fact that the change pattern of the first signal and the change pattern of the second signal include similar patterns may include not only that the similar patterns are included at corresponding points in time in the change pattern of the first signal and the change pattern of the second signal, but also that the similar patterns are included at different points in time.

[0083] Meanwhile, the electronic device (100) can input the first information and the second information into a learned neural network model to obtain a value indicating the similarity between the change pattern of the first signal and the change pattern of the second signal. Here, the 'neural network model' refers to a neural network model that is learned to output a value indicating the similarity between the change pattern of the first signal and the change pattern of the second signal when the first information and the second information are input. For example, the neural network model may include a convolutional neural network, but there is no particular limitation on the type of neural network included in the neural network model and the structure of the neural network model.

[0084] In particular, the electronic device (100) can obtain a value indicating the similarity between the change pattern of the first signal and the change pattern of the second signal by inputting the first information and the second information into a neural network model by dividing them by the reception time of the first signal and the second signal.

[0085] In addition, when the first signal and the second signal are Wi-Fi CSI signals, the electronic device (100) can obtain a value representing the similarity between the change pattern of the first signal and the change pattern of the second signal by inputting information about the CSI matrix for each subcarrier received at corresponding times in the first signal and the second signal into a neural network model.

[0086] Meanwhile, the electronic device (100) can obtain the first information by analyzing the change pattern of the first signal based on at least one of the type of the transmitting device (300) and the type of the electronic device (100). For example, if the transmitting device (300) or the electronic device (100) is a type of device that can change the pattern of the first signal, such as a cooking appliance that generates microwaves, the electronic device (100) can change the pattern of the first signal depending on the type of the transmitting device (300) or the type of the electronic device (100), and thus, when analyzing the change pattern of the first signal, the influence of the type of the transmitting device (300) or the type of the electronic device (100) can be eliminated, or the change pattern of the first signal can be compensated for based on the influence of the type of the transmitting device (300) or the type of the electronic device (100).

[0087] If the value representing the similarity obtained as described above is greater than or equal to the threshold value (S270-N), the electronic device (100) may terminate the operation. In addition, if the value representing the similarity is greater than or equal to the threshold value, the electronic device (100) may reconfigure a temporary network including the target device (200) and another device, and perform the process described above to identify whether the other device is in the same space as the electronic device (100), and determine whether to register it as a device constituting the IoT network. For example, the same 'space' may be a home, a company, etc., or may have a narrow meaning such as a specific room within a home or a company.

[0088] In reconfiguring a temporary network, the temporary network can be reconfigured not only with a system in which one device transmits a signal to two different devices as in Fig. 1, but also with various systems such as the systems described in Figs. 7 to 15.

[0089] If the value indicating the similarity is greater than or equal to the threshold value (S270-Y), the electronic device (100) can identify that the target device (200) is in the same space as the electronic device (100) (S280) and can register the target device (200) as a device constituting an IoT network (S290). Here, the threshold value can be changed according to the settings of the user or developer. The electronic device (100) can be said to be a device that performs the role of a 'judge' in the sense that it is a device that determines whether to register the target device (200) as a device constituting an IoT network.

[0090] In particular, when the target device (200) is in the same space as the electronic device (100), even if the pattern of the wireless signal changes due to the presence and movement of surrounding objects, people, or animals, the change pattern of the first signal and the change pattern of the second signal may be similar to a certain level or higher. Accordingly, when the value indicating the similarity is higher than a threshold value, the electronic device (100) can identify the target device (200) as a device in the same space as the electronic device (100) and automatically register the target device (200) as a device configuring an IoT network without user input.

[0091] An electronic device (100) can register a target device (200) as a device constituting an IoT network by transmitting information about the target device (200) to a server that provides a platform for IoT. Furthermore, the method for registering a target device (200) may vary depending on various methods for implementing a platform for IoT, such as when the electronic device (100) manages an IoT network.

[0092] Meanwhile, if the target device (200) is identified as being in the same space as the electronic device (100), the electronic device (100) may transmit a request to the transmitting device (300) to stop transmitting a wireless signal. Specifically, when a temporary network is configured, the electronic device (100) may periodically receive a first signal from the transmitting device (300) during a preset reception period. Then, if the target device (200) is identified as being in the same space as the electronic device (100) before the preset reception period, the electronic device (100) may transmit a request to the transmitting device (300) to stop transmitting the first signal.

[0093] A request to stop transmitting a wireless signal may include a request to stop transmitting a first signal as well as a request to stop transmitting a second signal, and may be performed on the condition that the target device (200) is identified as being in the same space as the electronic device (100), and that the process of registering the target device (200) as a device constituting an IoT network is completed.

[0094] Meanwhile, if the target device (200) is registered as a device forming an IoT network, the electronic device (100) may inform the user that the target device (200) is registered as a device forming an IoT network and provide a message to request the user's confirmation.

[0095] According to the various embodiments described above, the electronic device (100) can efficiently and effectively perform the process of registering the target device (200) as a device constituting an IoT network by comparing and analyzing the change pattern of the signal received by the electronic device (100) and the change pattern of the signal received by the target device (200).

[0096] In particular, when there is movement of an object within the space where the transmitting device (300), the electronic device (100), and the target device (200) are located while transmitting and receiving a signal, the movement of the object is reflected in the change pattern of the signal, so the electronic device (100) can effectively identify that the target device (200) is located in the same space as the electronic device (100) by comparing and analyzing the change pattern of the signal.

[0097] FIG. 3 is a diagram illustrating one or more embodiments related to a case where an object exists in a signal transmission path.

[0098] FIG. 3 illustrates an electronic device (100), a target device (200), a transmitting device (300), and an object located in the same space. FIG. 3 illustrates an example in which the electronic device (100) is a smartphone, the target device (200) is a refrigerator, the transmitting device (300) is an access point, and the object is a pet dog. In addition, path A and path B illustrate two movement paths of the pet dog together in a single drawing.

[0099] Hereinafter, the cases in which the pet dog moves along path A and the cases in which the pet dog moves along path B while the transmitting device (300) transmits the first signal and the second signal to the electronic device (100) and the target device (200) will be described separately.

[0100] While the transmitting device (300) transmits the first signal and the second signal to the electronic device (100) and the target device (200), the pet dog may move along path A. When the pet dog moves along path A, the movement of the pet dog may have a similar effect on both the change pattern of the first signal and the change pattern of the second signal. Therefore, in this case, the change pattern of the entire section of the first signal and the change pattern of the entire section of the second signal may include similar patterns.

[0101] Here, the fact that the change pattern of the entire section of the first signal and the change pattern of the entire section of the second signal include similar patterns may not only include that the similar patterns are included at corresponding points in time in the change pattern of the first signal and the change pattern of the second signal, but may also include that the similar patterns are included at different points in time. For example, as in path A of FIG. 3, there may be a difference between the time when the pet dog is located in the transmission path of the first signal and the time when the pet dog is located in the transmission path of the second signal. However, the way in which the pattern of the first signal changes as the pet dog is located in the transmission path of the first signal and the way in which the pattern of the second signal changes as the pet dog is located in the transmission path of the second signal may be similar to each other.

[0102] Ultimately, when the pet moves along path A while the first and second signals are being transmitted, the electronic device (100) can obtain a value exceeding a threshold value as a value representing the similarity between the change pattern of the first signal and the change pattern of the second signal. Then, the electronic device (100) can identify the target device (200) as being in the same space as the electronic device (100) and register the target device (200) as a device constituting an IoT network.

[0103] Meanwhile, while the transmitting device (300) transmits the first signal and the second signal to the electronic device (100) and the target device (200), the pet dog may move along path B. When the pet dog moves along path B, the movement of the pet dog may have different effects on the change pattern of the first signal and the change pattern of the second signal. That is, the effect of the movement of the pet dog on the change pattern of the second signal may be small or non-existent compared to the effect of the movement of the pet dog on the change pattern of the second signal. Therefore, in this case, the change pattern of the first signal and the change pattern of the second signal may not include similar patterns.

[0104] Ultimately, if the pet moves along path B while the first and second signals are being transmitted, the electronic device (100) may obtain a value below the threshold value as a value representing the similarity between the change pattern of the first signal and the change pattern of the second signal. In addition, the electronic device (100) may identify that the target device (200) is not in the same space as the electronic device (100) and may not register the target device (200) as a device constituting the IoT network.

[0105] As described above by comparing the case where the pet dog moves along path A and the case where the pet dog moves along path B, even if the target device (200) is located in the same space as the electronic device (100), if the movement of the object located in that space is limited to a specific area, the electronic device (100) may identify the target device (200) as not being in the same space as the electronic device (100) and may not register the target device (200) as a device constituting the IoT network.

[0106] To solve this problem, the electronic device (100) may train a neural network model to obtain a value representing similarity using training data containing information on various movements of objects. For example, the electronic device (100) may build various training data including cases where the movement of the object is uniform within space, such as path A of FIG. 3, and cases where the movement of the object is biased within space, such as path B of FIG. 3, and may train a neural network model based on the built training data. Accordingly, the electronic device (100) can more accurately identify whether the target device (200) is in the same space as the electronic device (100).

[0107] Meanwhile, the electronic device (100) can identify whether the target device (200) is in the same space as the electronic device (100) more than twice and accumulate the identification results to more accurately identify whether the target device (200) is in the same space as the electronic device (100). This will be described in detail with reference to FIG. 4.

[0108] FIG. 4 is a flowchart illustrating one or more embodiments in which an electronic device (100) identifies two or more times whether a target device (200) is in the same space as the electronic device (100).

[0109] As illustrated in FIG. 4, the electronic device (100) can identify whether the temporary network maintenance time has elapsed (S410). The temporary network maintenance time can be changed by the developer or user. Information regarding the temporary network maintenance time can be obtained prior to configuring the temporary network and transmitted to the target device (200) and the transmitting device (300) as part of a request for configuring the temporary network.

[0110] When the temporary network maintenance time has elapsed (S410-Y), the electronic device (100) may terminate the operation, and the electronic device (100) may reconfigure the temporary network including the target device (200) and other devices.

[0111] If the temporary network maintenance time has not elapsed (S410-N), the electronic device (100) can receive a first signal from the transmitting device (300) (S415). Then, when the first signal is received, the electronic device (100) can obtain first information about the change pattern of the first signal (S420). Specifically, the electronic device (100) can periodically receive the first signal from the transmitting device (300) until the temporary network maintenance time elapses, and can periodically obtain first information about the change pattern of the first signal every time the first signal is periodically received.

[0112] Information about the reception cycle can also be included in the request for configuring a temporary network and transmitted from the electronic device (100) to the transmitting device (300), and the transmitting device (300) can transmit a first signal to the electronic device (100) and a second signal to the target device (200) at preset intervals based on the information about the reception cycle.

[0113] The electronic device (100) can receive second information about the change pattern of the second signal from the target device (200) (S425). Specifically, the transmitting device (300) can transmit the second signal to the target device (200) at preset intervals, and the target device (200) can obtain second information about the change pattern of the second signal whenever the second signal is periodically received. In addition, the target device (200) can transmit the second information to the electronic device (100), and accordingly, the electronic device (100) can periodically receive second information about the change pattern of the second signal from the target device (200).

[0114] The electronic device (100) can obtain a value indicating the similarity between the change pattern of the first signal and the change pattern of the second signal based on the first information and the second information (S430). That is, when the first information and the second information corresponding to each cycle are obtained, the electronic device (100) can obtain a value indicating the similarity for each cycle.

[0115] The electronic device (100) can determine whether the value indicating the similarity is greater than or equal to a threshold value (S435). If the value indicating the similarity is less than the threshold value (S435-N), the electronic device (100) can receive the first signal again from the transmitting device (300) until the temporary network maintenance time elapses (S410).

[0116] If the value indicating the similarity is greater than or equal to the threshold value (S435-Y), the electronic device (100) can increase the score indicating that the target device (200) is in the same space as the electronic device (100) (S440). Specifically, the electronic device (100) can increase the score indicating that the target device (200) is in the same space as the electronic device (100) by 1 each time the value indicating the similarity obtained for each period is greater than or equal to the threshold value.

[0117] The electronic device (100) can determine whether the score is greater than or equal to a threshold score (S445). If the score is less than the threshold score (S445-N), the electronic device (100) can receive the first signal again from the transmitting device (300) until the temporary network maintenance time elapses (S410).

[0118] If the score is greater than or equal to the threshold score (S445-Y), the electronic device (100) can identify the target device (200) as being in the same space as the electronic device (100) and register the target device (200) as a device constituting the IoT network (S450). Once the registration procedure is completed, the electronic device (100) can transmit a wireless signal interruption request transmission to the transmitting device (300) (S455).

[0119] According to one or more embodiments as described above, the electronic device (100) can accurately and efficiently identify whether the target device (200) is in the same space as the electronic device (100) even when there is a temporary error, there is temporary noise in the signal, or the movement of the object is temporarily limited to a specific area.

[0142] FIG. 7 and FIG. 8 are drawings illustrating various embodiments related to one device transmitting a signal to two different devices.

[0143] In the description of FIGS. 1 to 6, it has been explained on the premise that the transmitting device (300) transmits a first signal to the electronic device (100) and a second signal to the target device (200), and the electronic device (100) obtains first information and receives second information from the target device (200), and then determines whether to register the target device (200) in the IoT network based on the first information and the second information.

[0144] Specifically, one or more embodiments described with reference to FIGS. 1 to 6 relate to embodiments in which one device transmits a signal to two different devices, wherein the transmitting device (300) transmits a signal, and the electronic device (100) and the target device (200) can receive the signal from the transmitting device (300). However, the present disclosure is not limited to the above premise, and may be implemented in various ways depending on the role of the devices participating in the embodiments according to the present disclosure.

[0145] As illustrated in FIG. 7, the target device (200) transmits a signal, and the electronic device (100) and the receiving device (400) can receive the signal from the target device (200). Then, the electronic device (100) can receive second information from the receiving device (400), and then determine whether to register the target device (200) in an IoT network based on the first information and the second information.

[0146] A "receiving device (400)" refers to a device capable of receiving signals from another device. Specifically, the receiving device (400) can receive signals from a transmitting device (300), a target device (200), or an electronic device (100). The transmitting device (300) may be a device registered as a device constituting an IoT network, or may be an unregistered device. There are no particular restrictions on the type of the receiving device (400).

[0147] As illustrated in FIG. 8, the electronic device (100) can transmit a first signal and a second signal to the receiving device (400) and the target device (200), respectively. Then, the electronic device (100) can receive first information from the receiving device (400) and second information from the target device (200), and then determine whether to register the target device (200) in an IoT network based on the first information and the second information.

[0148] Meanwhile, the above description assumes that the device that assists the onboarding process of the target device (200) (i.e., the assistant), the device that proposes the configuration of a temporary network (i.e., the proposer), and the device that determines whether to register the target device (200) as a device that configures the IoT network (i.e., the judge) are all electronic devices (100). However, it is of course also possible that at least one of the roles of the assistant, the proposer, and the judger may be performed by the target device (200), the transmitting device (300), or the receiving device (400).

[0149] In the example of FIG. 7, the receiving device (400) may receive first information from the electronic device (100) and then determine whether to register the target device (200) in the IoT network based on the first information and the second information. In addition, in the example of FIG. 8, the receiving device (400) may receive second information from the target device (200) and then determine whether to register the target device (200) in the IoT network based on the first information and the second information. In other words, the receiving device (400) may also perform the role of an assistant and a judge.

[0150] In addition, in the example of FIG. 7, after the target device (200) receives first information from the electronic device (100) and second information from the receiving device (400), it may determine whether to register the target device (200) in an IoT network based on the first information and the second information. In the example of FIG. 8, after the target device (200) receives first information from the receiving device (400), it may determine whether to register the target device (200) in an IoT network based on the first information and the second information. That is, the target device (200) may also perform the role of a judge. Various other embodiments are possible.

[0151] FIGS. 9 to 11 are drawings illustrating various embodiments related to two different devices transmitting signals to one device.

[0152] The description of FIGS. 1 to 8 described various embodiments in which one device transmits a signal to two different devices, but as illustrated in FIGS. 9 to 11, it is also possible to determine whether to register an IoT network for a target device (200) based on two different devices transmitting a signal to one device.

[0153] As illustrated in FIG. 9, the transmitting device (300) can transmit a first signal to the electronic device (100), and the target device (200) can transmit a second signal to the electronic device (100). Then, after obtaining the first information and the second information, the electronic device (100) can determine whether to register the target device (200) in the IoT network based on the first information and the second information.

[0154] As illustrated in FIG. 10, the electronic device (100) can transmit a first signal to the target device (200), and the transmitting device (300) can transmit a second signal to the target device (200). Then, after receiving the first information and the second information from the target device (200), the electronic device (100) can determine whether to register the target device (200) in an IoT network based on the first information and the second information.

[0155] As illustrated in FIG. 11, the electronic device (100) can transmit a first signal to the receiving device (400), and the target device (200) can transmit a second signal to the receiving device (400). Then, after receiving the first information and the second information from the receiving device (400), the electronic device (100) can determine whether to register the target device (200) in an IoT network based on the first information and the second information.

[0156] Meanwhile, as described above in the description of FIGS. 7 and 8, in the examples of FIGS. 9 to 11, at least one of the roles of the assistant, the proposer, and the judger may be performed not only by the electronic device (100), but also by the target device (200), the transmitting device (300), or the receiving device (400).

[0157] In the example of FIG. 9, when a request for registration is received from a target device (200), the transmitting device (300) can identify the target device (200) as a device to participate in a temporary network. In addition, the transmitting device (300) can identify one of a plurality of devices connected to the transmitting device (300), particularly an electronic device (100) registered as a device forming an IoT network, as a device to participate in the temporary network. In addition, the transmitting device (300) can configure a temporary network by transmitting a request for configuring a temporary network to the electronic device (100) and the target device (200). In other words, the transmitting device (300) can also act as a proposer.

[0158] In the example of FIG. 10, the target device (200) may transmit the first information and the second information to the transmitting device (300) without transmitting them to the electronic device (100). Then, the transmitting device (300) may determine whether to register the target device (200) with the IoT network based on the first information and the second information. In other words, the transmitting device (300) may also act as a judge.

[0159] In the example of FIG. 11, the receiving device (400) can determine whether to register the target device (200) with the IoT network based on the first information and the second information without transmitting the first information and the second information to the electronic device (100). In other words, the receiving device (400) can also act as a judge. Various other embodiments are possible.

[0160] FIG. 12 is a drawing for explaining various embodiments related to one device transmitting a signal to three different devices, and FIG. 13 is a drawing for explaining various embodiments related to three different devices transmitting a signal to one device.

[0161] As illustrated in FIG. 12, the transmitting device (300) can transmit a first signal, a second signal, and a third signal to the electronic device (100), the target device (200), and the receiving device (400), respectively. Then, the electronic device (100) can obtain the first information and receive the second information and the third information from the target device (200) and the receiving device (400), respectively, and then determine whether to register the target device (200) in an IoT network based on the first information, the second information, and the third information.

[0162] The third information refers to information about the change pattern of the third signal, and like the first information and the second information, it can indicate how the pattern of the signal changes over time.

[0163] As illustrated in FIG. 13, the first transmitting device (300-1), the target device (200), and the second transmitting device (300-2) can transmit a first signal, a second signal, and a third signal to the electronic device (100), respectively. In addition, the electronic device (100) can obtain the first information, the second information, and the third information, and determine whether to register the target device (200) in the IoT network based on the first information, the second information, and the third information.

[0164] In the above, determining whether to register the target device (200) on the IoT network based on the first information, second information, and third information means determining whether to register the IoT network by comparing the information on the change pattern of the second signal received by the target device (200) with the information on the change pattern of the first signal and the information on the change pattern of the third signal.

[0165] Specifically, the electronic device (100) can obtain a first value indicating the degree of similarity between the change pattern of the first signal and the change pattern of the second signal based on the first information and the second information. In addition, the electronic device (100) can obtain a second value indicating the degree of similarity between the change pattern of the second signal and the change pattern of the third signal based on the second information and the third information.

[0166] The electronic device (100) can identify the target device (200) as being in the same space as the electronic device (100) and register the target device (200) as a device constituting an IoT network only when both the first value and the second value are equal to or greater than a first threshold value. Meanwhile, the electronic device (100) can identify the target device (200) as being in the same space as the electronic device (100) and register the target device (200) as a device constituting an IoT network only when the sum of the first value and the second value is equal to or greater than a second threshold value.

[0167] Meanwhile, an embodiment is also possible in which the electronic device (100) obtains a first value indicating the similarity between the change pattern of the first signal and the change pattern of the second signal after receiving second information from the target device (200), the receiving device (400) obtains a second value indicating the similarity between the change pattern of the second signal and the change pattern of the third signal after receiving second information from the target device (200), and the electronic device (100) receives the second value from the receiving device (400). In this way, if part of the role of the judge is distributed to the electronic device (100) and the receiving device (400), the computational load can be distributed to multiple devices, especially when the similarity value is obtained using a neural network model.

[0168] Meanwhile, in the examples of FIGS. 12 and 13, at least one of the roles of the assistant, proposer, and judger may be performed not only by the electronic device (100), but also by the target device (200), the transmitting device (300), or the receiving device (400).

[0169] FIGS. 14 and 15 are drawings illustrating one or more embodiments involving two different devices transmitting signals to two different devices.

[0170] In the above, one or more embodiments related to a case where the transmitting device (300) is one device or the receiving device (400) is one device have been described, but as illustrated in FIGS. 14 and 15, embodiments according to the present disclosure can also be applied to a case where there are two or more transmitting devices (300) or two or more receiving devices (400).

[0171] As illustrated in FIG. 14, the first transmitting device (300-1) can transmit a first signal to the electronic device (100), and the second transmitting device (300-2) can transmit a second signal to the target device (200). Then, the electronic device (100) can obtain the first information and receive the second information from the target device (200), and then determine whether to register the target device (200) in the IoT network based on the first information and the second information.

[0172] As illustrated in FIG. 15, the electronic device (100) can transmit a first signal to the first receiving device (400-1), and the target device (200) can transmit a second signal to the second receiving device (400-2). Then, the electronic device (100) can receive first information from the first receiving device (400-1) and second information from the second receiving device (400-2), and then determine whether to register the target device (200) in the IoT network based on the first information and the second information.

[0173] In the examples of FIGS. 12 and 13, at least one of the roles of the assistant, proposer, and judger may be performed not only by the electronic device (100), but also by the target device (200), the first transmitting device (300-1), the second transmitting device (300-2), the first receiving device (400-1), or the second receiving device (400-2).

[0174] In the above, with reference to FIGS. 7 to 15, various embodiments of the combination and roles of devices for determining whether to register the target device (200) in the IoT network have been described, but these are exemplary only and various embodiments are possible in addition to the above-described embodiments.

[0175] Meanwhile, when identifying devices to determine whether to register the target device (200) with the IoT network, the locations of devices already registered with the IoT network may be taken into consideration. In the example of FIG. 15, the electronic device (100) may determine, among a plurality of registered devices, the first receiving device (400-1) and the second receiving device (400-2), which were identified as being in the same space as the electronic device (100) during a previous registration process, as devices to participate in the temporary network to determine whether to register with the IoT network.

[0176] Meanwhile, the control method of the electronic device (100) according to the above-described embodiment may be implemented as a program and provided to the electronic device (100). In particular, the program including the control method of the electronic device (100) may be stored and provided in a non-transitory computer readable medium.

[0177] Specifically, in a non-transitory computer-readable recording medium including a program for executing a control method of an electronic device (100), the control method of the electronic device (100) comprises: when a request for adding a device constituting an Internet of Things (IoT) network is received, a step of configuring a temporary network including an electronic device (100), a target device (200), and a transmitting device (300); when the temporary network is configured, a step of receiving a first signal from the transmitting device (300); a step of obtaining first information about a change pattern of the first signal; a step of receiving, from the target device (200), second information about a change pattern of a second signal transmitted to the target device (200) by the transmitting device (300); a step of obtaining a value representing a similarity between the change pattern of the first signal and the change pattern of the second signal based on the first information and the second information; and a step of identifying the target device (200) as being in the same space as the electronic device (100) and registering the target device (200) as a device constituting the IoT network. May include.

[0178] In the above, a method for controlling an electronic device (100) and a computer-readable recording medium including a program for executing the method for controlling an electronic device (100) have been briefly described, but this is only to omit redundant descriptions, and it goes without saying that various embodiments of the electronic device (100) can also be applied to a method for controlling an electronic device (100) and a computer-readable recording medium including a program for executing the method for controlling an electronic device (100).

[0179] According to the various embodiments described above, the electronic device (100) can efficiently and effectively perform the process of registering the target device (200) as a device constituting an IoT network by comparing and analyzing the change pattern of the signal received by the electronic device (100) and the change pattern of the signal received by the target device (200).

[0189] Here, "created through learning" means that a predefined set of behavioral rules or an AI model with desired characteristics is created by applying a learning algorithm to a large number of learning data. This learning may be performed on the device itself, where the AI according to the present disclosure is implemented, or through a separate server / system.

[0190] An artificial intelligence model may be composed of multiple neural network layers. At least one layer has at least one weight value and performs its operation through the operation result of the previous layer and at least one defined operation. Examples of neural networks include a convolutional neural network (CNN), a deep neural network (DNN), a recurrent neural network (RNN), a restricted boltzmann machine (RBM), a deep belief network (DBN), a bidirectional recurrent deep neural network (BRDNN), deep Q-networks, and a transformer. The neural networks in the present disclosure are not limited to the above-described examples unless otherwise specified.

[0191] A learning algorithm is a method for training a target device (e.g., a robot) using a large amount of learning data, thereby enabling the target device to make decisions or predictions on its own. Unless otherwise specified, the learning algorithms in this disclosure are not limited to the aforementioned examples.

[0192] A device-readable storage medium may be provided in the form of a non-transitory storage medium. Here, the term "non-transitory storage medium" simply means a tangible device that does not contain signals (e.g., electromagnetic waves). This term does not distinguish between cases where data is permanently stored in the storage medium and cases where data is temporarily stored. For example, a "non-transitory storage medium" may include a buffer in which data is temporarily stored.

[0193] According to one embodiment, the method according to the various embodiments disclosed in the present document may be provided as included in a computer program product. The computer program product may be traded as a product between a seller and a buyer. The computer program product may be distributed in the form of a machine-readable storage medium (e.g., compact disc read only memory (CD-ROM)), or may be distributed online (e.g., downloaded or uploaded) via an application store (e.g., Play Store™) or directly between two user devices (e.g., smartphones). In the case of online distribution, at least a portion of the computer program product (e.g., a downloadable app) may be temporarily stored or temporarily generated in a machine-readable storage medium, such as the memory of a manufacturer's server, an application store's server, or an intermediary server.

[0194] Each of the components (e.g., modules or programs) according to the various embodiments of the present disclosure as described above may be composed of a single or multiple entities, and some of the sub-components described above may be omitted, or other sub-components may be further included in the various embodiments. Alternatively or additionally, some components (e.g., modules or programs) may be integrated into a single entity, which may perform the same or similar functions as those performed by each of the respective components prior to integration.

[0195] According to various embodiments, operations performed by a module, program or other component may be executed sequentially, in parallel, iteratively or heuristically, or at least some operations may be executed in a different order, omitted, or other operations may be added.

[0196] Meanwhile, the terms "part" or "module" used in the present disclosure include units composed of hardware, software, or firmware, and may be used interchangeably with terms such as logic, logic block, component, or circuit.
