[0014] (7) In the work machine of any one of (1) to (6) above, the connecting body has a pair of support parts that support the shaft, and a space is formed between the pair of support parts.
[0015] <Details of the embodiment of the present disclosure> [Overall configuration of the work machine] Fig. 1 is a schematic side view showing the overall configuration of a work machine according to an embodiment. The work machine 10 of this embodiment is an excavation work machine, exemplified by a backhoe. The work machine 10 includes a machine body (swivel base) 12, a traveling device 13, and a work device 14. The machine body 12 is provided with a driver's seat and a cabin 15 surrounding the driver's seat. Note that the machine body 12 may be provided with a canopy that covers the top of the driver's seat instead of the cabin 15.
[0016] In describing the overall configuration of the work machine 10, the direction toward the front of the operator seated in the driver's seat of the work machine 10 (the direction of arrow A1 in FIG. 1) is also referred to as the forward direction, and the opposite direction (the direction of arrow A2 in FIG. 1) is also referred to as the rear direction. The direction toward the left side of the operator (the near side in FIG. 1) is also referred to as the left side, and the direction toward the right side of the operator (the far side in FIG. 1) is also referred to as the right side.
[0017] As shown in FIG. 1 , the traveling device 13 supports the machine body 12 so that it can travel. The traveling device 13 in this embodiment is a crawler-type traveling device and includes a traveling frame 13A and crawler-type traveling bodies 13B provided on both the left and right sides of the traveling frame 13A. The traveling bodies 13B are driven by a traveling motor M1 provided on the traveling frame 13A and operated hydraulically. A dozer device 17 is provided at the front or rear of the traveling frame 13A. The traveling device 13 may include a wheel-type traveling body instead of the crawler-type traveling body 13B.
[0018] The machine body 12 is supported on the traveling device 13 via a swivel bearing 18. The machine body 12 is rotatable around an axis O extending in the vertical direction by the swivel bearing 18. The machine body 12 has a support bracket 19 and a swing bracket 20 at the front that support the working device 14. The support bracket 19 protrudes forward from the machine body 12. The swing bracket 20 is connected to the front of the support bracket 19 via a vertical shaft 20A. The vertical shaft 20A has an axis that extends in the vertical direction. The swing bracket 20 can swing left and right around the axis of the vertical shaft 20A. The swing bracket 20 swings due to the extension and contraction of a swing cylinder (not shown) provided on the machine body 12.
[0019] The working device 14 in this embodiment is an excavation device. The working device 14 has a boom 21, an arm 22, and a bucket 23. The base of the boom 21 is connected to the upper part of the swing bracket 20 via a horizontal shaft 25. The horizontal shaft 25 has an axis extending in the left-right direction. The boom 21 can swing around the axis of the horizontal shaft 25. The boom 21 swings by extension and contraction of a boom cylinder 61.
[0020] The arm 22 is connected to the tip end of the boom 21 via a horizontal shaft 26. The horizontal shaft 26 has an axis extending in the left-right direction. The arm 22 is swingable around the axis of the horizontal shaft 26. The arm 22 swings when an arm cylinder 62 extends or contracts.
[0021] The bucket 23 is provided at the tip end of the arm 22 so as to be capable of scooping and dumping operations. The scooping operation is an operation of swinging the bucket 23 in a direction approaching the boom 21, for example, an operation for scooping up earth and sand. The dumping operation is an operation of swinging the bucket 23 in a direction away from the boom 21, for example, an operation for dropping (discharging) the scooped earth and sand. The bucket 23 performs the scooping and dumping operations by extending and retracting the bucket cylinder 63.
[0022] The swing cylinder, boom cylinder 61, arm cylinder 62, and bucket cylinder 63 are configured by hydraulic cylinders (hydraulic actuators). The work device 14 may be equipped with other work implements instead of or in addition to the bucket 23. For example, the work device 14 may be equipped with a hydraulic breaker, hydraulic crusher, angle broom, earth auger, pallet fork, sweeper, mower, or snow blower.
[0023] [Boom Configuration] Figure 2 is a perspective view of the boom of the work device. As shown in Figures 1 and 2, the boom (swinging member) 21 is formed in a generally V-shape (boomerang-like; L-shaped) in side view. The boom 21 includes a main body 31 and connectors 32 and 33. The main body 31 is a long structure and constitutes the majority of the boom 21. The connectors 32 and 33 are provided at both ends of the main body 31 in the longitudinal direction. One connector 32 is connected to the swing bracket 20 of the machine body 12 via a horizontal shaft 25. The other connector 33 is connected to one end of the arm 22 via a horizontal shaft 26.
[0024] Fig. 3 is a perspective view showing a portion of the boom. Fig. 4 is a perspective view showing a portion of the boom exploded. Figs. 3 and 4 show a connector 32 connected to the swing bracket 20 and a portion of the main body 31 connected to the connector 32. Figs. 3 and 4 show arrows indicating a first direction X, a second direction Y, and a third direction Z that are perpendicular to one another. In the following description of the boom 21, for convenience, the first direction X is defined as the left-right direction, the second direction Y as the front-rear direction, and the third direction Z as the up-down direction.
[0025] The main body 31 of the boom 21 is formed into a cylindrical (hollow) shape by joining multiple components 41 to 44. Specifically, the main body 31 is formed into a rectangular cylindrical shape by joining first to fourth plate members 41 to 44. The first plate member 41 and the second plate member 42 are arranged opposite each other with a gap in the left-right direction X. The third plate member 43 and the fourth plate member 44 are arranged opposite each other with a gap in the up-down direction Z. The upper ends of the first and second plate members 41, 42 are joined to the lower surface of the fourth plate member 44. The lower ends of the first and second plate members 41, 42 are joined to the upper surface of the third plate member 43.
[0026] The connector 32 is a casting made of cast steel, cast iron, or the like. The connector 32 has a trunk 35 located on the front side (the main body 31 side) and a support part 36 located on the rear side (the opposite side from the main body 31). The trunk 35 is a part that constitutes the main part of the connector 32. A front end 35A of the trunk 35 has an outer circumferential surface that is substantially rectangular. The first to fourth plate members 41 to 44 that constitute the main body 31 are joined in contact with the four outer circumferential surfaces of the end 35A of the trunk 35, respectively.
[0027] Figure 5 is a cross-sectional view taken along the line D-D in Figure 4. Figure 6 is a perspective view of the periphery of the opening of the connecting body. The body 35 is hollow. The interior (hollow portion) 37 of the body 35 is closed in the left-right direction X, the up-down direction Z, and rearward, and open forward. Specifically, the interior 37 of the body 35 is open to the main body 31 through openings 38 formed in the front end faces 35A1 and 35A2 of the connecting body 32. The openings 38 are formed in a substantially rectangular shape, similar to the outer peripheral surface of the end 35A of the body 35.
[0028] Grooves 51 are formed on the inner peripheral surface of the opening 38. The grooves 51 extend in the circumferential direction of the opening 38. The grooves 51 are formed on three surfaces of the inner peripheral surface of the opening 38: both sides in the left-right direction X and the lower side. The grooves 51 have a bottom surface 51b and side surfaces 51a. The bottom surface 51b of the groove 51 faces the inner peripheral side of the opening 38 and essentially constitutes the inner peripheral surface of the opening 38. The grooves 51 are open forward. The side surfaces 51a of the grooves 51 are formed along the rear edge of the bottom surface 51b. The side surfaces 51a of the grooves 51 face forward.
[0029] The end portion 35A of the body portion 35 of the connecting body 32 has a U-shaped cutout portion (cutout portion 35B) at the top when viewed from above. The cutout portion 35B is a generally rectangular shape that is long in the left-right direction X. The width d of this cutout portion 35B in the front-rear direction is the same as the width d of the groove 51 in the front-rear direction Y. The cutout portion 35B is provided in a range corresponding to the distance between one end and the other end of the groove 51 in the circumferential direction of the opening 38. The groove 51 is open upward by this cutout portion 35B.
[0030] The front end surface of the body 35 includes a first end surface 35A1 located on both sides of the opening 38 in the left-right direction X and below the opening 38, and a second end surface 35A2 located above the opening 38. The second end surface 35A2 is the rear end surface of the cutout portion 35B. The second end surface 35A2 is located rearward of the first end surface 35A1. The second end surface 35A2 is located flush with the side surface 51 a of the groove 51.
[0031] FIG. 7 is a perspective view of the connecting body with the lid attached. FIG. 8 is a perspective view of a portion of the boom before the fourth plate member 44 is attached. FIG. 9 is a view taken along arrow E in FIG. 8. FIG. 10 is a cross-sectional view taken along arrows B-B in FIG. 3. As shown in FIGS. 4 and 7, the boom 21 of this embodiment further includes a lid member 55 that closes the opening 38 of the connecting body 32. This lid member 55 is made of a plate member having a substantially rectangular surface. The length L1 of the lid member 55 in the left-right direction X is slightly smaller than the distance L3 (see FIG. 5) between the bottom surfaces 51b of the grooves 51 on both the left and right sides of the opening 38. The length L2 of the lid member 55 in the up-down direction is greater than the distance L4 (see FIG. 5) between the bottom surface 51b of the groove 51 below the opening 38 and the inner circumferential surface of the upper side of the opening 38, but is smaller than the distance L5 (see FIG. 5) between the bottom surface 51b of the groove 51 below the opening 38 and the upper surface 35A3 of the end 35A of the trunk portion 35. The thickness t of the lid 55 is smaller than the width d of the groove 51 in the front-rear direction Y.
[0032] The lid 55 is fitted into the groove 51. The lid 55 is disposed in a space surrounded by the bottom surface 51b of the groove 51. The outer peripheral surfaces of both sides and the lower side of the lid 55 in the left-right direction X are disposed opposite the bottom surface 51b of the groove 51. The rear plate surface (rear surface) of the lid 55 is disposed opposite the side surface 51a and the second end surface 35A2 of the groove 51. The lid 55 is positioned in the front-rear direction Y by contacting the side surface 51a and the second end surface 35A2 of the groove 51.
[0033] 10 , the lid 55 is joined to the body 35 of the connecting body 32 by welding. Specifically, the outer periphery on both sides in the left-right direction X and on the lower side of the front surface of the lid 55 is joined to the bottom surface 51 b of the groove 51 by welding. In this specification, the portion joined by this welding is designated by the symbol W1 and will be referred to as weld W1 or joint W1. Hereinafter, the same expression will be used for other welds.
[0034] The upper outer peripheral surface of the lid body 55 and the second end surface 35A2 of the body 35 are joined by a weld W2. Therefore, the entire outer periphery of the lid body 55 is joined to the body 35 of the connecting body 32, and the lid body 55 is firmly fixed to the body 35.
[0035] The welding W1, W2 of the lid 55 to the connector 32 as described above is performed from the inside in the left-right direction X as shown by the arrow a in Fig. 9, or from above as shown by the arrow b. Therefore, the welding W1, W2 of the lid 55 to the connector 32 can be performed from above even in a state where the first to third plate members 41 to 43 of the main body 31 are joined to the connector 32 as shown in Fig. 8.
[0036] 9 and 10 show welds W1 and W2 between the connector 32 and the lid 55, as well as welds W3 and W4 on the main body 31 and welds W5, W6, and W7 between the main body 31 and the connector 32. Both surfaces of the lower ends of the first and second plates 41 and 42 constituting the main body 31 are joined by weld W3 to the upper surface of the third plate 43. The outer surfaces of the upper ends of the first and second plates 41 and 42 are joined by weld W4 to the lower surface of the fourth plate 44. The first end surface 35A1 of the connector 32 is joined by weld W5 to the inner surfaces of the first to third plates 41 to 43. The rear end surfaces of the first and second plates 41 and 42 are joined to the side surfaces of the end 35A of the connector 32 in the left-right direction X by weld W6 (see FIG. 9 ). The weld W5 joins the inner surface of the main body 31 (the surface located inside the hollow main body 31) and the connector 32.
[0037] FIG. 11 is a view taken along arrow C in FIG. 3 . As shown in FIGS. 4 , 8 , and 11 , a notch 57 is formed in the upper surface of the rear end of each of the first and second plate members 41 and 42. This notch 57 is elongated in the front-to-rear direction. The notch 57 is open upward and rearward. As shown in FIG. 11 , a lower edge 57a of the notch 57 extends linearly in the front-to-rear direction. A front edge 57b of the notch 57 slopes forward from bottom to top. Due to the slope of this front edge 57b, a substantially triangular opening H is formed between the first end surface 35A1 of the connecting body 32, the front edge 57b of the notch 57, and the lower surface of the fourth plate member 44. The side surface of the end 35A of the connecting body 32 is exposed outward in the left-right direction X by the notch 57. The opening H is not limited to a triangular shape, but may be a square shape, a semicircular shape, or the like, and is not particularly limited in shape.
[0038] The lower edges 57a of the notches 57 in the first and second plates 41, 42 are joined to the side surfaces of the end 35A of the connector 32 by welds W7. This weld W7 is connected to the welds W6 that join the rear end surfaces of the first and second plates 41, 42 to the side surfaces of the end 35A of the connector 32, and the welds W7, W6 are continuous. The welds W6, W7 join the outer surface of the main body 31 (the surface located outside the hollow main body 31) to the connector 32.
[0039] The rear end surface of the fourth plate 44 and the upper surface 35A3 of the end 35A of the connector 32 are joined by a weld W9. The lower surface of the fourth plate 44 and the side surface of the end 35A of the connector 32 are joined by a weld W8. The welds W9 and W8 are connected to each other and are continuous. The welds W8 and W9 join the outer surface of the main body 31 and the connector 32. By forming notches 57 in the first and second plates 41 and 42, the weld W8 can be made longer, thereby more firmly joining the fourth plate 44 and the connector 32.
[0040] 11 , welds W7 and W8 joining the outer surface of the main body 31 and the connector 32 are connected at opening H to weld W5 joining the inner surface of the main body 31 and the connector 32, and these are continuous. Furthermore, welds W7 and W8 are connected to weld W4 at opening H, and these are continuous. By connecting the welds through opening H in this way, welds are prevented from being interrupted midway, weld ends prone to stress concentration are reduced, and defects in the joints are suppressed. When the manufacture of the boom 21 is complete, opening H is entirely blocked by the welding material connecting the welds W7, W8, W4, and W5.
[0041] As shown in Figure 3, the support portion 36 of the connecting body 32 protrudes rearward (opposite the main body 31) from the trunk portion 35. A pair of support portions 36 are provided with a gap in the left-right direction X. A space S is formed between the left and right support portions 36. A cylindrical boss 36A is provided at the tip end (rear end) of the support portion 36. The horizontal shaft 25 is inserted into and attached to the boss 36A.
[0042] Hydraulic hoses and the like that are pulled out from the machine body 12 and connected to the hydraulic cylinders 62, 63 are passed through the space S of the connector 32 (the space above the horizontal shaft 25 in FIG. 1 ). Therefore, compared to when the hydraulic hoses and the like are passed below the horizontal shaft 25, the hoses and the like can be prevented from protruding rearward when the boom 21 is swung upward (rearward), and the hoses can be prevented from coming into contact with the cabin 15.
[0043] [Operation and Effects of the Embodiment] (1) In the above embodiment, the work machine 10 includes a machine body 12 and a working device 14 attached to the machine body 12. The working device 14 includes a swinging member (boom) 21 that can swing around an axis (horizontal axis) 25 as a fulcrum. The swinging member 21 includes a main body 31 and a connecting body 32 that is connected to an end of the main body 31 and to which the axis 25 is attached. The connecting body 32 is formed to have a hollow interior and has an opening 38 that opens to the interior at an end face 35A1 on the main body 31 side. The swinging member 21 further includes a lid 55 that closes the opening 38.
[0044] With the above-described configuration, the connector 32, which is formed to have a hollow interior, is reinforced by the lid 55. This increases the rigidity of the connector 32, making it possible to suppress distortion due to loads such as bending and twisting.
[0045] (2) In the above embodiment, at least a portion of the outer periphery of the lid 55 is joined to the inner periphery of the opening 38 (the bottom surface 51 b of the groove 51). This configuration makes it easy to join the lid 55 to the connector 32 by welding. Particularly in the above embodiment, even when the left and right plate members 41, 42 and the lower plate member 43 of the main body 31 are joined to the connector 32, the outer periphery of both the left and right sides and the lower side of the lid 55 can be joined to the connector 32 within the main body 31 surrounded by these plate members 41, 42, 43.
[0046] (3) In the above embodiment, another part of the outer periphery of the lid 55 is joined to the end surface 35A2 on the main body 31 side (front side) of the connector 32. Therefore, even in a state in which the left and right plate members 41, 42 and the lower plate member 43 of the main body 31 are joined to the connector 32 as in the above embodiment, the outer periphery on the upper side of the lid 55 can be easily joined to the connector 32.
[0047] (4) In the above embodiment, the inner peripheral surface of the opening 38 includes the groove 51 that extends in the circumferential direction of the opening 38 and into which the lid 55 is inserted. With this configuration, it is possible to achieve the above-described joining between the outer periphery of the lid 55 and the inner peripheral surface 51b of the opening 38.
[0048] (5) In the above embodiment, groove 51 is formed at a position corresponding to the portion of the outer periphery of lid body 55, and connector 32 has notch 35B that opens groove 51 to the outside at a position corresponding to the other portion of the outer periphery of lid body 55. With this configuration, lid body 55 can be inserted into groove 51 via notch 35B, and the outer periphery of lid body 55 and end face 35A2 of connector 32 can be joined as described above.
[0049] (6) In the above embodiment, the main body 31 is hollow. The oscillating member 21 includes a first joint (welds W7, W8) that joins the outer surface of the main body 31 to the connector 32, and a second joint (weld W5) that joins the inner surface of the main body 31 to the connector 32. The main body 31 is formed with a communication opening (opening H) that connects the first joints W7, W8 to the second joint W5. This allows the first joints W7, W8 on the outside of the main body 31 to be continuous with the second joint W5 on the inside via the communication opening H, reducing the number of ends of the joints where stress tends to concentrate and suppressing defects in the joints.
[0050] (7) In the above embodiment, the connecting body 32 has a pair of support portions 36 that support the shaft 25, and a space S is formed between the pair of support portions 36. By passing hoses or the like that are drawn out from the machine body 12 and connected to the hydraulic cylinders 62, 63 through this space S, the amount of movement of the hoses or the like that accompanies the swinging of the swinging member 21 can be suppressed.
[0051] Although the embodiments have been described above, it will be understood that various changes in form and details can be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the claims.
[0052] For example, the structure of the connector 32 of the boom 21 as described above may be applied to the connector 33 at the other end of the boom 21. Furthermore, the arm 22 has a main body and a connector, similar to the boom 21, and the structure of the connector 32 as described above may be applied to this connector. In other words, the swinging member of the present disclosure may be the boom 21 or the arm 22. Furthermore, the work machine of the present disclosure is not limited to a backhoe, and is not particularly limited as long as it is equipped with a work device having a swinging member that can swing around an axis as a fulcrum.
[0053] The groove 51 of the connector 32 may be formed in a U-shaped cross section with front and rear side surfaces, rather than being open to the front. In this case, for example, the cover 55 can be attached by inserting it into the groove 51 through the notch 35B at the top of the connector 32.
[0054] The notch 35B may not be formed in the connector 32. The groove 51 may be formed over the entire inner peripheral surface of the opening 38. The groove 51 may not be formed in the connector 32. In either case, the lid 55 can be inserted into the opening 38 from the front side of the connector 32, and the outer periphery of the lid 55 can be joined to the inner peripheral surface of the opening 38.
[0055] The connecting body 32 is not limited to a casting, and may be formed by joining a plurality of components such as plate materials. The supporting portions 36 of the connecting body 32 do not necessarily have to be provided in pairs, and may not have the space S. For example, the supporting portion 36 of the connecting body 32 may have a single boss 36A that is long in the left-right direction X, into which most of the horizontal shaft 25 is inserted.
