Description

Wireless transmission device and wireless display system

[0001] The present disclosure relates to a wireless display system that wirelessly transmits and receives A / V data.

[0002] Digital TV services utilizing wired or wireless networks are becoming more widespread. Digital TV services can offer a variety of services not available with existing analog broadcasting services.

[0003] For example, IPTV (Internet Protocol Television), a type of digital TV service, and smart TV services offer interactivity, allowing users to actively choose the type of program they want to watch and when. Building on this interactivity, IPTV and smart TV services can also offer a variety of additional services, such as internet search, home shopping, and online games.

[0004] Recently, TV services have been provided through wireless display systems in which an A / V transmission device transmits a compressed A / V (Audio / Video) signal to an A / V receiving device via a wireless connection, and the A / V receiving device restores the compressed A / V signal and outputs it.

[0005] A sensor for recognizing the presence of a person in front of an A / V receiver equipped with a display exists in the A / V receiver, but a separate processing unit must be added to the A / V receiver to process / judge a large amount of sensing data that is updated in real time.

[0006] Since the main processing unit that processes video / audio data exists in the A / V transmission device, the conventional method of processing / judging sensing data in the A / V reception device cannot utilize the main processing unit that already exists in the A / V transmission device, and wastes the cost of adding a separate main processing unit to the A / V reception device.

[0007] The present disclosure aims to control the power of an A / V transmitting device and an A / V receiving device at low power / low cost by utilizing a processing device present in an A / V transmitting device without a separate main processing device in the A / V receiving device.

[0008] The purpose of the present disclosure is to efficiently transmit data by transmitting and receiving low-volume data such as sensing data and power-on signals using an inexpensive BLE communication circuit and transmitting and receiving A / V data using an RF transmission / reception interface.

[0009] In a wireless display system according to an embodiment of the present disclosure, the system may include an A / V (Audio / Video) receiving device that acquires sensing data and transmits the acquired sensing data to an A / V (Audio / Video) transmitting device through a first receiving interface, and an A / V transmitting device that receives the sensing data from the first receiving interface through a first transmitting interface, determines whether a user motion has occurred based on the sensing data, and transmits a power-on signal to the first receiving interface through the first transmitting interface when it is determined that the user motion has occurred.

[0010] An operating method of an A / V (Audio / Video) receiving device and a wireless display system including the A / V receiving device according to an embodiment of the present disclosure may include a step in which the A / V receiving device acquires sensing data; a step in which the A / V receiving device transmits the acquired sensing data to the A / V transmitting device through a first receiving interface; a step in which the A / V transmitting device receives the sensing data from the first receiving interface through a first transmitting interface; a step in which the A / V transmitting device determines whether a user motion has occurred based on the sensing data; and a step in which the A / V transmitting device transmits a power-on signal to the first receiving interface through the first transmitting interface when it determines that the user motion has occurred.

[0011] According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, a processing device capable of determining whether a user's motion has occurred by using raw data on real-time distance measured by a motion sensor does not need to be separately added to an A / V receiving device.

[0012] Accordingly, the occurrence of user motion can be determined at low cost and low power, and power synchronization can be performed between the A / V transmitting device and the A / V receiving device.

[0013] The wireless display system can be automatically turned on by the user simply by coming near the wireless display system without any separate input.

[0014] In addition, the present disclosure can efficiently transmit data by transmitting and receiving low-volume data such as sensing data and power-on signals using an inexpensive BLE communication circuit, and transmitting and receiving A / V data using an RF transmission / reception interface.

[0016] FIG. 3 is a block diagram illustrating the configuration of a remote control device according to one embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0017] Figure 4a is a perspective view of an A / V transmission device.

[0018] Figure 4b is a drawing explaining the internal structure of an A / V transmission device.

[0019] Figure 4c is a drawing illustrating an RF receiving interface of an A / V receiving device.

[0020] FIG. 5 is a ladder diagram for explaining an operation method of a wireless display system according to an embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0021] FIG. 6 is a drawing illustrating a process in which an A / V transmitting device transmits a power-on signal to an A / V receiving device when the presence of a user is recognized in front of the A / V receiving device or a user's motion occurs according to an embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0022] FIG. 7 is a diagram illustrating a process of synchronizing power between an RF transmission interface and an RF reception interface when the presence of a user is recognized in front of an A / V receiving device or a user's motion occurs according to an embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0023] An audio / video (hereinafter, A / V) transmission device according to an embodiment of the present disclosure is, for example, an intelligent device that adds a computer support function to a broadcast reception function, and while remaining faithful to the broadcast reception function, it can be provided with an Internet function, etc., and a more convenient interface such as a manual input device, a touch screen, or a space remote control.

[0024] Additionally, with wired or wireless Internet access, you can connect to the Internet and a computer, enabling functions such as email, web browsing, banking, and gaming. A standardized, general-purpose operating system can be used for these diverse functions.

[0025] Accordingly, the A / V transmission device described in the present disclosure can perform various user-friendly functions, for example, since various applications can be freely added or deleted on a general-purpose OS kernel.

[0111] Hereinafter, it is assumed that the power of the A / V transmission device (100) and the power of the A / V reception device (200) are each turned off.

[0112] The fact that the A / V transmission device (100) is powered off may indicate that the RF transmission interface (160, a second transmission interface to be described later) of the A / V transmission device (100) is not activated.

[0113] The fact that the RF transmission interface (160) is not activated may mean that power is not supplied to the RF transmission interface (160), and thus power is not supplied to the RF transmission antennas.

[0114] The A / V receiving device (200) being powered off may mean that the display (260) and RF receiving interface (240) are not activated.

[0115] If the display (260) is not activated, it may mean that the screen of the display (260) is turned off.

[0116] A state in which the RF receiving interface (240) is not activated may be a state in which power is not supplied to the RF receiving interface (240), and thus power is not supplied to the RF receiving antennas.

[0117] Referring to FIG. 5, the microcomputer (microcomputer, 290) of the A / V receiving device (200) can obtain sensing data (S501).

[0118] The A / V receiving device (200) may be equipped with a motion sensor that detects the presence of a user or the user's motion.

[0119] The motion sensor may be a Time of Flight (TOF) sensor. A TOF sensor can output light and measure the time it takes for the light to reflect and enter the sensor. Using this measured time, TOF can measure the distance between an object and the TOF sensor.

[0120] The TOF sensor can measure the distances of each 3 X 3 area in 3D space.

[0121] The microcomputer (290) can obtain the distance measured by the TOF sensor as sensing data.

[0122] The motion sensor may be placed at the bottom of the display (260).

[0123] In another embodiment, the motion sensor may be provided separately from the A / V receiving device (200). In this case, the A / V receiving device (200) may receive the distance measured by the motion sensor.

[0124] The microcomputer (290) of the A / V receiving device (200) can transmit the acquired sensing data to the first transmission interface of the A / V transmitting device (100) through the first receiving interface (S503).

[0125] The first receiving interface may be a wireless communication interface (210) of the A / V receiving device (200) illustrated in FIG. 2. Specifically, the first receiving interface may include a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) circuit provided in the wireless communication interface (210).

[0126] The frequency band used in the first receiving interface may be 2.4 GHz.

[0127] The first transmission interface of the A / V transmission device (100) may be the wireless communication interface (120) of the A / V transmission device (100) illustrated in FIG. 2. Specifically, the first transmission interface may include a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) circuit provided in the wireless communication interface (120).

[0128] The first transmitting interface and the first receiving interface can exchange small-capacity data. Each of the first transmitting interface and the first receiving interface can include an RF chip optimized for low power.

[0129] The first receiving interface can transmit sensing data to the first transmitting interface.

[0130] The processor (190) of the A / V transmission device (100) can determine whether a user's motion exists based on the received sensing data (S505).

[0131] The processor (190) can determine whether a user's motion exists based on the received sensing data.

[0132] The processor (190) can compare a first distance included in first sensing data received at a first point in time with a second distance included in second sensing data received at a second point in time following the first point in time.

[0133] The processor (190) can determine that a user's motion exists when the difference between the first distance and the second distance is greater than a preset difference.

[0134] The presence of a user's motion may indicate the presence of a user in front of the A / V receiving device (200).

[0135] When it is determined that a user's motion exists, the processor (190) of the A / V transmission device (100) can transmit a power-on signal to turn on the power of the A / V reception device (200) to the first reception interface of the A / V reception device (200) through the first transmission interface (S507).

[0136] When it is determined that a user's motion has occurred, the processor (190) can transmit a power-on signal to the first receiving interface of the A / V receiving device (200) to activate the display (260) and the second receiving interface provided in the A / V receiving device (200).

[0137] The second receiving interface may be an RF receiving interface (240) including RF receiving antennas as illustrated in FIG. 2.

[0138] The second receiving interface can receive A / V data from the second transmitting interface using a frequency band of 60 GHz.

[0139] The microcomputer (290) of the A / V receiving device (200) can turn on one or more of the display (260) or the second receiving interface according to a power-on signal received from the first transmitting interface (S509).

[0140] The microcomputer (290) can turn on the screen of the display (260) according to a power command received from the first transmission interface.

[0141] The microcomputer (290) can simultaneously activate the second receiving interface. That is, the microcomputer (290) can supply power to one or more of the multiple receiving antennas provided in the second receiving interface.

[0142] Accordingly, the second receiving interface can wait for reception of A / V data from the second transmitting interface of the A / V transmission device (100).

[0143] Meanwhile, the processor (190) of the A / V transmission device (100) can activate the second transmission interface if it is determined that a user's motion exists (S511).

[0144] When the processor (190) determines that a user's motion exists in front of the A / V receiving device (200), it can supply power to one or more of the plurality of transmitting antennas provided in the second transmitting interface.

[0145] That is, the processor (190) of the A / V transmission device (100) can synchronize the power of the second transmission interface and the second reception interface with each other when there is a user motion.

[0146] The processor (190) of the A / V transmission device (100) transmits A / V data to the second reception interface of the A / V reception device (200) through the activated second transmission interface (S513).

[0147] The processor (190) transmits one or more of the compressed audio data or video data through the compression chip (150) to the second receiving interface through the second transmission interface.

[0148] The microcomputer (290) of the A / V receiving device (200) outputs the received A / V data (S515).

[0149] The microcomputer (290) can output audio data through a speaker (270) and video data through a display (260).

[0150] In this way, according to an embodiment of the present disclosure, there is no need to separately add a processing device capable of determining whether a user's motion has occurred using raw data on the real-time distance measured by the motion sensor to the A / V receiving device (200).

[0151] Accordingly, whether a user's motion has occurred can be determined at low cost and low power, and power synchronization can be performed between the A / V transmission device (100) and the A / V reception device (200).

[0152] Additionally, the wireless display system can be automatically turned on by the user simply by coming near the wireless display system without any separate input.

[0153] FIG. 6 is a drawing illustrating a process in which an A / V transmitting device transmits a power-on signal to an A / V receiving device when the presence of a user is recognized in front of the A / V receiving device or a user's motion occurs according to an embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0154] Referring to FIG. 6, the A / V receiving device (200) may be equipped with a motion sensor (600) at the bottom of the display (260). The motion sensor (600) may periodically output light and receive reflected light for the output light.

[0155] The motion sensor (600) can measure distance data between the user (A) and the motion sensor (600) based on the received reflected light.

[0156] The A / V receiving device (200) can transmit the measured distance data to the wireless communication interface (210) of the A / V transmitting device (100) via the wireless communication interface (210).

[0157] The A / V transmission device (100) can determine whether a user (A) exists or whether motion of the user (A) occurs based on the received distance data.

[0158] The A / V transmission device (100) can generate a power-on signal when the presence of a user (A) is detected or when motion of the user (A) occurs.

[0159] The A / V transmission device (100) can transmit a power-on signal to the wireless communication interface (210) of the A / V reception device (200) via the wireless communication interface (120).

[0160] The A / V transmission device (100) can activate the second transmission interface upon generation of a power-on signal.

[0161] The A / V receiving device (200) can turn on the screen of the display (260) according to the received power-on signal. The A / V receiving device (200) can activate the second receiving interface according to the power-on signal.

[0162] After power synchronization, the A / V transmission device (100) transmits A / V data to the second reception interface of the A / V reception device (200) through the second transmission interface.

[0163] FIG. 7 is a diagram illustrating a process of synchronizing power between an RF transmission interface and an RF reception interface when the presence of a user is recognized in front of an A / V receiving device or a user's motion occurs according to an embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0164] Referring to FIG. 7, the ToF sensor (601) may be an example of a motion sensor (600).

[0165] The ToF sensor (601) can operate even when the power of the display (260) or RF receiving interface (240) of the A / V receiving device (200) is turned off.

[0166] The ToF sensor (601) can periodically output light to the outside and receive reflected light to measure distance data between an object and the ToF sensor (601).

[0167] The ToF sensor (601) can acquire measured distance data as sensing data.

[0168] 1. The ToF sensor (601) can transmit sensing data to the microcomputer (290).

[0169] 2. The microcomputer (290) can transmit the received sensing data to the BLE chip (211) provided in the wireless communication interface (210).

[0170] 3. The BLE chip (211) can transmit sensing data to the BLE chip (121) provided in the wireless communication interface (120) provided in the A / V transmission device (100).

[0171] 4. The BLE chip (121) provided in the wireless communication interface (120) can transmit the received sensing data to the processor (190). The processor (190) can determine whether a user exists or whether a user motion occurs based on the received sensing data.

[0172] 5-1. When the processor (190) recognizes the presence of a user or determines that a user's motion has occurred, it can generate a power-on signal and transmit the generated power-on signal to the BLE chip (121). The power-on signal may be a signal for turning on one or more of the display (260) or RF receiving interface (240) of the A / V receiving device (200).

[0173] 5-2. The processor (190) can activate the RF transmission interface (160) according to the generation of a power-on signal.

[0174] 6. The BLE chip (121) can transmit a power-on signal to the BLE chip (211) of the A / V receiving device (200).

[0175] 7. The BLE chip (211) can transmit a power-on signal to the microcomputer (290).

[0176] 8. The microcomputer (290) can activate the RF receiving interface (240) by transmitting a power-on signal to the RF receiving interface (240).

[0177] 9. The RF transmission interface (160) can transmit A / V data to the RF reception interface (240).

[0178] In this way, according to an embodiment of the present disclosure, a BLE chip can be used as a means for transmitting and receiving sensing data and a means for transmitting and receiving a power-on signal.

[0179] This is because power is wasted when transmitting and receiving low-volume data, such as sensing data and power-on signals, through the RF transmission interface (160) and RF reception interface (240), which handle high-volume data.

[0180] That is, power waste can be prevented as the BLE chip is used as a means of transmitting and receiving sensing data and power-on signals.

[0181] In addition, according to the embodiment of the present disclosure, unlike the conventional case, a processing device for processing sensing data in an A / V receiving device (200) is not required, so that costs can be reduced.

[0182] According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, the above-described method can be implemented as processor-readable code on a medium in which a program is recorded. Examples of processor-readable media include ROM, RAM, CD-ROM, magnetic tape, floppy disk, and optical data storage devices.
