[0072] FIG. 1 is a plan view of a display device (10) according to one embodiment, FIG. 2 is a drawing for explaining an expanded shape of a display panel (PNL) of FIG. 1, and FIG. 3 is a drawing showing the shape of the display device (10) when looking at the area I-I' of FIG. 1 in the direction of an arrow.

[0073] A display device (10) according to one embodiment may be a sliding display device (10) or a slidable display device (10) that can slide. A display device (10) according to one embodiment may be a single slidable display device (10) that slides in only one direction, but is not limited thereto. For example, a display device (10) according to one embodiment may be a multi slidable display device (10) that slides in both directions. The following description will focus on a single slidable display device (10).

[0074] A display device (10) according to one embodiment may include a display panel (PNL), a first support plate (201), a second support plate (202), a first main guide rail (MGR1), a second main guide rail (MGR2), a first auxiliary guide rail (AGR1), and a second auxiliary guide rail (AGR2), as illustrated in FIGS. 1 to 3.

[0075] The display panel (PNL) is a panel that displays a screen, and any type of display panel (PNL) such as an organic light-emitting display panel (PNL) including an organic light-emitting layer, an ultra-small light-emitting diode display panel (PNL) using an ultra-small light-emitting diode (micro LED), a quantum dot light-emitting display panel (PNL) using a quantum dot light-emitting device (Quantum dot Light Emitting Diode) including a quantum dot light-emitting layer, or an inorganic light-emitting display panel (PNL) using an inorganic light-emitting device including an inorganic semiconductor can be applied as the display panel (PNL) of the present embodiment.

[0076] The display panel (PNL) may be a flexible panel. The display panel (PNL) may have flexibility that allows it to be partially rolled, bent, or curved along the first main guide rail (MGR1) and the second main guide rail (MGR2). The display panel (PNL) may slide along the first direction (DR1) and the reverse direction of the first direction (DR1) (hereinafter, referred to as the first reverse direction).

[0077] The outer surface of the display panel (PNL) (for example, the surface shown in FIG. 1) may be a surface on which a screen is displayed. Meanwhile, the inner surface of the display panel (PNL) may face the first support plate (201). Here, the inner surface of the display panel (PNL) may be arranged on the opposite side of the outer surface of the display panel (PNL). Meanwhile, the inner surface and the outer surface of the first support plate (201), which will be described later, may be arranged on opposite sides, and the outer surface and the inner surface of the second support plate (202) may be arranged on opposite sides.

[0078] The area of the display area of the display panel (PNL) may vary depending on the sliding state of the display device (10). For example, when the display device (10) is in a non-sliding state (hereinafter referred to as a “first state”), the display panel (PNL) may have a first display area (DA_1) of a first area. Meanwhile, when the display device (10) is in a sliding state (hereinafter referred to as a “second state”), the display area may further include an extended second display area (DA_2) in addition to the first display area (DA_1). In addition, the area of the display area in the first state and the area of the display area in the second state may vary depending on the sliding degree of the display device (10). For example, as the sliding degree of the display device (10) increases, the area of the display area in the first state or the area of the display area in the second state may increase. In other words, the area of the display area of the display panel (PNL) may vary depending on the state of the display device (10). The area of the display area of the display panel (PNL) in the open state may vary depending on the degree of opening of the display device (10) (e.g., the degree to which the display device (10) is slid open).

[0079] The display panel (PNL) may be disposed on the outer surface of the first support plate (201). The display panel (PNL) may be attached to the outer surface of the first support plate (201). For example, the inner surface of the display panel (PNL) may be attached to the outer surface of the first support plate (201). The display panel (PNL) may be fixed to the first support plate (201). The first support plate (201) may be made of a flexible material that can be bent.

[0080] The second support plate (202) may be disposed on the inner surface of the first support plate (201). The second support plate (202) may be attached to the inner surface of the first support plate (201). For example, the outer surface of the second support plate (202) may be attached to the inner surface of the first support plate (201). The second support plate (202) may be fixed to the first support plate (201). The second support plate (202) may be made of a flexible material that can be bent.

[0081] A plurality of actuators (100a, 100b) may be arranged on the inner surface of the second support plate (202). For example, the plurality of actuators (100a, 100b) may be arranged on the second support plate (202) at equal intervals along the first direction (DR1). The plurality of actuators (100a, 100b) may be arranged parallel to each other. The plurality of actuators (100a, 100b) may be attached to the inner surface of the first support plate (201). The plurality of actuators (100a, 100b) may be fixed to the first support plate (201).

[0082] The first main guide rail (MGR1) can be arranged on one side of the display panel (PNL).

[0083] The second main guide rail (MGR2) may be arranged on the other side of the display panel (PNL). In other words, the second main guide rail (MGR2) may be arranged on the opposite side of the first main guide rail (MGR1). For example, the first main guide rail (MGR1) and the second main guide rail (MGR2) may be arranged on opposite sides along a line along the second direction (DR2). Alternatively, the first main guide rail (MGR1) and the second main guide rail (MGR2) may be arranged to face each other in the second direction (DR2).

[0084] As illustrated in FIG. 3, the first auxiliary guide rail (AGR1) and the second auxiliary guide rail (AGR2) may be arranged between the first main guide rail (MGR1) and the second main guide rail (MGR2). The first auxiliary guide rail (AGR1) may be arranged on the opposite side of the second auxiliary guide rail (AGR2). At this time, the first auxiliary guide rail (AGR1) may be arranged close to the first main guide rail (MGR1), and the second auxiliary guide rail (AGR2) may be arranged close to the second main guide rail (MGR2).

[0085] As illustrated in FIG. 3, the aforementioned plurality of actuators (100a, 100b) can be arranged between the first main guide rail (MGR1) and the second main guide rail (MGR2).

[0086] A plurality of actuators (100a, 100b) may be movably coupled to one of the first main guide rail (MGR1) and the second main guide rail (MGR2). In addition, a plurality of actuators (100a, 100b) may be movably coupled to the first auxiliary guide rail (AGR1) and the second auxiliary guide rail (AGR2).

[0087] FIG. 4 is a perspective view of the display device (10) of FIG. 1, FIG. 5 is a view showing a part of the first main guide rail (MGR1) in the display device (10) of FIG. 4 cut away, FIG. 6 is a first enlarged view of part A of FIG. 5, FIG. 7 is a side view of FIG. 6, FIG. 8 is a second enlarged view of part A of FIG. 5, and FIG. 9 is a plan view of a plurality of actuators (100a, 100b) and a second support plate (202) according to one embodiment of FIG. 5.

[0088] Meanwhile, the first enlarged view illustrated in FIG. 6 is an enlarged view in a state where the first auxiliary guide rail (AGR1) among the components of part A of FIG. 5 has been removed, and the second enlarged view illustrated in FIG. 8 is an enlarged view in a state where the first main guide rail (MGR1) and the joint part among the components of part A of FIG. 5 have been removed.

[0089] As illustrated in FIG. 4, the first main guide rail (MGR1) may be positioned on one side of the display panel (PNL). The first main guide rail (MGR1) may have an oval shape. Although not illustrated in FIG. 4, the second main guide rail (MGR2) may have the same configuration as the first main guide rail (MGR1). For example, the second main guide rail (MGR2) may have an oval shape.

[0090] As illustrated in FIGS. 3, 5, 6, 7, and 9, the plurality of actuators (100a, 100b) may be coupled to any one of the first main guide rail (MGR1) and the second main guide rail (MGR2). In other words, the plurality of actuators (100a, 100b) may be movably coupled to any one of the first main guide rail (MGR1) and the second main guide rail (MGR2). For example, the plurality of actuators (100a, 100b) may move along the first main guide rail (MGR1) and the second main guide rail (MGR2).

[0091] As shown in FIG. 3 and FIG. 9, each actuator (100a, 100b) may have a bar shape extending along the second direction (DR2).

[0092] Each of the actuators (100a, 100b) can be selectively coupled to only one of the first main guide rail (MGR1) and the second main guide rail (MGR2). For example, when the actuator arranged in the odd-numbered column (or even-numbered column) with respect to the first direction (DR1) is defined as the first actuator (100a), and the actuator arranged in the even-numbered column (or odd-numbered column) is defined as the second actuator (100b), the first actuator (100a) can be coupled to the first main guide rail (MGR1), and the second actuator (100b) can be coupled to the second main guide rail (MGR2). The first actuator (100a) and the second actuator (100b) can be alternately arranged. In other words, a plurality of first actuators (100a) and a plurality of second actuators (100b) can be arranged interchangeably with each other.

[0093] In addition, as illustrated in FIGS. 3, 5, 6, 7, and 9, the plurality of actuators (100a, 100b) may be movably coupled to the first auxiliary guide rail (AGR1) and the second auxiliary guide rail (AGR2). For example, each of the plurality of first actuators (100a) may be movably coupled to the first auxiliary guide rail (AGR1) and the second auxiliary guide rail (AGR2), and each of the plurality of second actuators (100b) may be movably coupled to the first auxiliary guide rail (AGR1) and the second auxiliary guide rail (AGR2).

[0105] The bar (110b) of the second driving body (100b) may have a bar shape extending along the second direction (DR2).

[0106] The main coupling part (120b) of the second driving body (100b) may be arranged at the other end of the rod (110b). The main coupling part (120b) of the second driving body (100b) may be coupled to the second main guide rail (MGR2).

[0107] The first auxiliary coupling portion (131b) of the second driving body (100b) may be disposed on the rod (110b) so as to be adjacent to one end of the second driving body (100b). For example, the first auxiliary coupling portion (131b) of the second driving body (100b) may be disposed on the rod (110b) between one end of the rod (110b) and the center of the rod (110b). One end and the other end of the rod (110b) provided to the second driving body (100b) may be disposed on opposite sides. For example, the second auxiliary coupling portion (132b) of the second driving body (100b) may be positioned on the rod (110b) between the other end (or main coupling portion (120b)) of the rod (110b) and the center of the rod (110b).

[0109] Meanwhile, the rod (110b), main coupling part (120b), first auxiliary coupling part (131b) and second auxiliary coupling part (132b) of the second driving body (100b) can be formed as one piece.

[0110] In one embodiment, as illustrated in FIG. 7, the first main guide rail (MGR1) may include a straight portion and a curved portion, and the thicknesses of the straight portion and the curved portion may be different. For example, the thickness of the curved portion may be greater than the thickness of the straight portion. Alternatively, the thicknesses of the straight portion and the curved portion may be the same. Similarly, the second main guide rail (MGR2) may include a straight portion and a curved portion, and the thicknesses of the straight portion and the curved portion may be different. For example, the thickness of the curved portion may be greater than the thickness of the straight portion. Alternatively, the thicknesses of the straight portion and the curved portion may be the same.

[0111] Fig. 10 is a perspective view of the first driving body (100a) of Fig. 9, Fig. 11 is an enlarged view of part A of Fig. 10, and Fig. 12 is an enlarged view of part B of Fig. 10.

[0112] The first driving body (100a) may include a rod (110a), a main coupling part (120a), a first auxiliary coupling part (131a), and a second auxiliary coupling part (132a), as shown in FIG. 10.

[0113] The main connecting portion (120a) of the first driving body (100a) may be arranged at one end of the rod (110a), as described above. The main connecting portion (120a) of the first driving body (100a) may include a first protrusion (121a), a second protrusion (122a), and a connecting portion (123a), as illustrated in FIG. 11. The main connecting portion (120a) may have, for example, a rectangular cross-section or a circular cross-section.

[0114] The first protrusion (121a) of the first driving body (100a) may protrude from the rod (110a). For example, the first protrusion (121a) may protrude in a direction opposite to the second direction (DR2) (hereinafter, referred to as the second reverse direction).

[0115] The second protrusion (122a) of the first driving body (100a) may be arranged to face the first protrusion (121a). The second protrusion (122a) may protrude in a second reverse direction. The second protrusion (122a) may be arranged parallel to the first protrusion (121a). A first main guide rail (MGR1) may be arranged between the first protrusion (121a) and the second protrusion (122a) of the first driving body (100a). In other words, the first driving body (100a) may be coupled to the first main guide rail (MGR1) through the first protrusion (121a) and the second protrusion (122a) of the main coupling portion (120a). When the first driving body (100a) is coupled to the first main guide rail (MGR1), the first protrusion (121a) of the first driving body (100a) may face the outer surface (or outer circumference) of the first main guide rail (MGR1), and the second protrusion (122a) of the first driving body (100a) may face the inner surface (or inner circumference) of the first main guide rail (MGR1).

[0116] The connecting portion (123a) of the first driving body (100a) can connect the first protrusion (121a) and the second protrusion (122a) to each other. The connecting portion (123a) can protrude from the first protrusion (121a) in a third direction (DR3). The connecting portion (123a) can be arranged between the first protrusion (121a) and the second protrusion (122a). One side of the connecting portion (123a) can be connected to the first protrusion (121a), and the other side of the connecting portion (123a) can be connected to the second protrusion (122a). The first protrusion (121a), the second protrusion (122a), and the connecting portion (123a) can be formed integrally.

[0117] The main connecting portion (120a) including the first protrusion (121a), the second protrusion (122a) and the connecting portion (123a) described above may have, for example, a “ㄷ” shape or a U shape.

[0118] The first auxiliary coupling portion (131a) of the first driving body (100a) may include a support portion (1311a) and a catch portion (1312a), as illustrated in FIG. 11.

[0119] The support portion (1311a) of the first auxiliary coupling portion (131a) provided in the first driving body (100a) may protrude in a third direction (DR3) from the upper surface of the rod (110a). Here, the upper surface of the rod (110a) is a surface disposed opposite the lower surface of the rod (110a), and the lower surface of the rod (110a) is a surface facing the second support plate (202) described above. In other words, the upper surface of the rod (110a) may be one side surface of the rod (110a) disposed opposite the second support plate (202).

[0120] The engaging portion (1312a) of the first auxiliary coupling portion (131a) provided in the first driving body (100a) may be arranged on the support portion (1311a) of the first auxiliary coupling portion (131a). The size of the engaging portion (1312a) in the second direction (DR2) may be larger than the size of the support portion (1311a) in the second direction (DR2) so that both ends of the engaging portion (1312a) are not supported by the support portion (1311a). Accordingly, a space may be formed between one end of the engaging portion (1312a) and the upper surface of the rod (110a), and a space may be formed between the other end of the engaging portion (1312a) and the upper surface of the rod (110a). The supporting portion (1311a) and the engaging portion (1312a) may be formed integrally. The engaging portion (1312a) of the first auxiliary coupling portion (131a) provided in the first driving body (100a) can be inserted into the guide hole (GHa) of the first auxiliary guide rail (AGR1). When the first auxiliary coupling portion (131a) is coupled to the guide hole (GHa) of the first auxiliary guide rail (AGR1), the ends of both sides of the engaging portion (1312a) can face the inner surfaces (or inner peripheral surfaces) of the first rail (R11) and the second rail (R12) provided in the first auxiliary guide rail (AGR1), respectively.

[0121] The first auxiliary coupling portion (131a) including the support portion (1311a) and the catch portion (1312a) of the first driving body (100a) described above may have, for example, a T shape.

[0122] The second auxiliary coupling portion (132a) of the first driving body (100a) may include a support portion (1321a) and a catch portion (1322a), as illustrated in FIG. 12. The second auxiliary coupling portion (132a) of the first driving body (100a) may have substantially the same configuration as the first auxiliary coupling portion (131a) of the first driving body (100a) described above, and therefore, the description of the second auxiliary coupling portion (132a) refers to the description of the first auxiliary coupling portion (131a) described above. However, the catch portion (1322a) of the second auxiliary coupling portion (132a) provided in the first driving body (100a) may be inserted into the guide hole (GHb) of the second auxiliary guide rail (AGR2). When the second auxiliary coupling part (132a) is coupled to the guide hole (GHb) of the second auxiliary guide rail (AGR2), the ends on both sides of the catches (1322a) provided in the second auxiliary coupling part (132a) can face the inner surfaces (or inner peripheral surfaces) of the first rail (R11) and the second rail (R12) provided in the second auxiliary guide rail (AGR2), respectively.

[0123] Meanwhile, as illustrated in Fig. 12, a third protrusion (333a) may be arranged on the other end of the first driving body (100a). The third protrusion (333a) may protrude in the second direction (DR2) from the other end of the first driving body (100a). The third protrusion (333a) of the first driving body (100a) may face the outer surface (or outer circumference) of the second main guide rail (MGR2).

[0124] Fig. 13 is a perspective view of the second driving body (100b) of Fig. 9, Fig. 14 is an enlarged view of part A of Fig. 13, and Fig. 15 is an enlarged view of part B of Fig. 13.

[0125] The second driving body (100b) may include a rod (110b), a main coupling portion (120b), a first auxiliary coupling portion (131b), and a second auxiliary coupling portion (132b), as illustrated in FIG. 13.

[0126] The main connecting portion (120b) of the second driving body (100b) may be positioned at the other end of the rod (110b), as described above. The main connecting portion (120b) of the second driving body (100b) may include a first protrusion (121b), a second protrusion (122b), and a connecting portion (123b), as illustrated in FIG. 14.

[0127] The first protrusion (121b) of the second driving body (100b) may protrude from the rod (110b). For example, the first protrusion (121b) may protrude in the second direction (DR2).

[0128] The second protrusion (122b) of the second driving body (100b) may be arranged to face the first protrusion (121b). The second protrusion (122b) may protrude in the second direction (DR2). The second protrusion (122b) may be arranged parallel to the first protrusion (121b). A second main guide rail (MGR2) may be arranged between the first protrusion (121b) and the second protrusion (122b) of the second driving body (100b). In other words, the second driving body (100b) may be coupled to the second main guide rail (MGR2) through the first protrusion (121b) and the second protrusion (122b) of the main coupling portion (120b). When the second driving body (100b) is coupled to the second main guide rail (MGR2), the first protrusion (121b) of the second driving body (100b) may face the outer surface (or outer circumference) of the second main guide rail (MGR2), and the second protrusion (122b) of the second driving body (100b) may face the inner surface (or inner circumference) of the second main guide rail (MGR2).

[0129] The connecting portion (123b) of the second driving body (100b) can connect the first protrusion (121b) and the second protrusion (122b) to each other. The connecting portion (123b) can protrude from the first protrusion (121b) in a third direction (DR3). The connecting portion (123b) can be arranged between the first protrusion (121b) and the second protrusion (122b). One side of the connecting portion (123b) can be connected to the first protrusion (121b), and the other side of the connecting portion (123b) can be connected to the second protrusion (122b). The first protrusion (121b), the second protrusion (122b), and the connecting portion (123b) can be formed integrally.

[0130] The main connecting portion (120b) including the first protrusion (121b), the second protrusion (122b) and the connecting portion (123b) described above may have, for example, a “ㄷ” shape or a U shape.

[0131] The first auxiliary coupling portion (131b) of the second driving body (100b) may include a support portion (1311b) and a catch portion (1312b), as illustrated in FIG. 14. Since the first auxiliary coupling portion (131b) of the second driving body (100b) is substantially the same as the first auxiliary coupling portion (131a) of the first driving body (100a) described above, the description of the first auxiliary coupling portion (131b) of the second driving body (100b) refers to the description of the first auxiliary coupling portion (131a) of the first driving body (100a) described above.

[0132] The second auxiliary coupling portion (132a) of the second driving body (100b) may include a support portion (1321b) and a catch portion (1322b), as illustrated in FIG. 15. Since the second auxiliary coupling portion (132b) of the second driving body (100b) is substantially the same as the second auxiliary coupling portion (132a) of the first driving body (100a) described above, the description of the second auxiliary coupling portion (132a) of the second driving body (100b) refers to the description of the second auxiliary coupling portion (132a) of the first driving body (100a) described above.

[0133] Meanwhile, as illustrated in Fig. 15, a third protrusion (333b) may be arranged on one end of the second driving body (100b). The third protrusion (333b) may protrude in a second reverse direction from one end of the second driving body (100b). The third protrusion (333b) of the second driving body (100b) may face the outer surface (or outer circumference) of the first main guide rail (MGR1).

[0134] Meanwhile, the number and positions of auxiliary connecting parts (131a, 132a, 131b, 132b) can be varied.

[0177] Additionally, in one embodiment, the second actuator (100b) of FIG. 20 may have the same configuration as the second actuator (100b) of FIGS. 9, 16, and 17.

[0178] FIG. 24 is a plan view of a plurality of actuators (100a, 100b) and a second support plate (202) according to one embodiment.

[0179] The display device (10) of FIG. 24 has a difference from the display device (10) of FIG. 20 described above in that it further includes a first auxiliary coupling portion (131aS1) and a second auxiliary coupling portion (132aS1). This difference will be specifically described as follows.

[0180] As illustrated in FIG. 24, the first sub-actuator (100aS1) of the first actuator (100a) may further include a first auxiliary coupling portion (131aS1), and the second sub-actuator (100aS2) of the first actuator (100a) may further include a second auxiliary coupling portion (132aS2).

[0181] The first auxiliary coupling part (131aS1) and the second auxiliary coupling part (132aS2) of FIG. 24 are identical to the first auxiliary coupling part (131a) and the second auxiliary coupling part (132a) of FIG. 19 described above, respectively.

[0182] Meanwhile, the second actuator (100b) of Fig. 24 may have the same configuration as the first actuator (100a) of Fig. 24. For example, the first sub-actuator (100bS1) of the second actuator (100b) may further include a first auxiliary coupling portion (131bS1), and the second sub-actuator (100bS2) of the second actuator (100b) may further include a second auxiliary coupling portion (132bS2).

[0183] Additionally, in one embodiment, the second actuator (100b) of FIG. 24 may have the same configuration as the second actuator (100b) of FIGS. 9, 16, 17, and 20.

[0184] FIG. 25 is a drawing for explaining the expanded shape of the display panel (PNL) of FIG. 5.

[0185] As illustrated in FIG. 25, when the display device (10) is in the second state, the display area may further include an extended second display area (DA_2) in addition to the first display area (DA_1).

[0186] At this time, as illustrated in Fig. 25, the first actuators (100a) can move counterclockwise along the first main guide rail (MGR1), the first auxiliary guide rail (AGR1), and the second auxiliary guide rail (AGR2). In addition, although not illustrated, the second actuators (100b) can move counterclockwise along the second main guide rail (MGR2), the first auxiliary guide rail (AGR1), and the second auxiliary guide rail (AGR2).

[0187] In other words, the display area of the display panel (PNL) can be expanded as the first driving bodies (100a) and the second driving bodies (100b) move counterclockwise along the first main guide rail (MGR1) (or the second main guide rail (MGR2)), the first auxiliary guide rail (AGR1) and the second auxiliary guide rail (AGR2).

[0188] According to a display device of one embodiment, since one actuator is selectively coupled to only one of two main guide rails (MGR1, MGR2), misalignment of the actuator can be prevented when the actuator moves. For example, when main coupling portions are installed at each of the ends of the rods of the actuator, if the main coupling portion of one end (hereinafter, referred to as the first main coupling portion) and the main coupling portion of the other end (hereinafter, referred to as the second main coupling portion) are not properly aligned, the driving timing between the first main coupling portion coupled to the first main guide rail and the second main coupling portion coupled to the second main guide rail may be misaligned. Then, the actuator including the first main coupling portion and the second main coupling portion may be misaligned. However, according to a display device of one embodiment, since one actuator is connected to one main guide rail through one coupling portion, an alignment problem between the main coupling portions does not occur, and thus misalignment of the actuator and misalignment of the display panel arranged on the actuator can be prevented.

[0189] In addition, according to the display device of one embodiment, since the main coupling portion (120a) of the first driving body (100a) and the main coupling portion (120b) of the second driving body (100b) are alternately coupled to different main guide rails (MGR1, MGR2), the driving balance of the plurality of driving bodies (100a, 100b) can be secured even though one driving body is coupled to one main guide rail.

[0190] Additionally, since one actuator includes one main joint, the number of main joints used can be reduced, which can reduce manufacturing costs and, consequently, the weight of the actuator. Furthermore, since the total number of main joints can be reduced, the friction between the actuator and the main guide joints can be reduced, allowing the actuator to move more easily with less force.

[0191] In addition, according to the display device of one embodiment, the driving force for driving the actuator can be distributed by the auxiliary coupling member and the auxiliary guide rail, thereby increasing the lifespan of the display device (10). In addition, since the actuator can be supported by the auxiliary coupling member and the auxiliary guide, distortion of the actuator can be prevented.

[0192] In addition, according to the display device of one embodiment, the driving body includes a plurality of sub-driving bodies that are separated from each other, whereby the load applied to the first main guide rail and the second main guide rail can be reduced, and also the driving body can be prevented from being twisted.
