The fifth device (205) may be Bluetooth headphones or a headset. The sixth device (206) may be a laptop. The seventh device (207) may be a tablet. In addition to the examples illustrated in FIG. 2, the user may use other suitable devices in conjunction with the first device (201). For example, a key fob, a wallet, a backpack, a dog or cat recognition device, a car, a bicycle, an ID card, a briefcase, an umbrella, and / or other gear may also be devices that can be interoperable with the first device (201) as long as they meet the communication functions described in various embodiments of this document. If necessary (e.g., in case of loss), the first device (201) may perform location tracking of the interoperable devices. Furthermore, in some embodiments, the user may use two or more of the same devices. For example, the user may use multiple smartphones (e.g., the first device (201)) in conjunction with each other. Furthermore, the user may use two or more tablets (e.g., the seventh device (207)) in conjunction with the first device (201).
[0051] According to one embodiment, the user devices (200) may be connected to each other using one or more communication protocols. For example, the first device (201) may be connected to at least one of the second device (202), the third device (203), the fourth device (204), the fifth device (205), the sixth device (206), or the seventh device (207) via a short-range network. For example, a network (e.g., a short-range network) for establishing a connection between the user devices (200) may be appropriately selected. For example, Bluetooth, Bluetooth low energy (BLE), Wi-Fi direct, near field communication (NFC), ultra-wide band (UWB) communication, and / or infrared (Infra-red) communication may be used to establish a connection between the user devices (200). Additionally, according to one embodiment, the user devices (200) can establish a connection using a mesh network (e.g., zigbee or Z-Wave) via short-range wireless communication.
[0052] According to one embodiment, the user devices (200) may connect to each other in various ways depending on device information (e.g., device components). For example, among the user devices (200), an IP-based (e.g., IP address) device (201, 202, 203, 204, 205, 206, or 207) may establish a connection with the second network (199) using a service set identifier (SSID). For example, at least one (201, 202, 203, 204, 205, 206, or 207) among the user devices (200) may establish a connection with the second network (199) using a user device (e.g., the first device (201)) or a hub device (not shown).

For example, if the second device (202) determines that it is lost, it may broadcast various information including identification information of itself (e.g., the second device (202)) through a packet. The advertising packet may be broadcast so that one or more electronic devices located within a predetermined communication range in addition to the second device (202) can receive it. In the embodiments of the present document, the packet (e.g., the advertising packet) may be understood as a signal, a message, or a beacon.
[0054] According to one embodiment, at least one (201, 202, 203, 204, 205, 206, or 207) of the user devices (200) may determine its own lost status based on various criteria. For example, the second device (202) may determine that it has entered an offline state in which it is disconnected from the first device (201) if a first period of time (e.g., 15 minutes) has elapsed since the last time it was connected to the mother terminal or main terminal, the first device (201). The second device (202) may determine that it is lost if, for example, a second period of time (e.g., 24 hours) has elapsed since entering the offline state. The second device (202) may additionally consider the remaining battery level in addition to the time when determining the lost status. In this case, the remaining battery level may be the remaining battery level of the device (the second device (202)), and the time may be a first time (e.g., 15 minutes) or a second time (e.g., 24 hours). The first time and the second time and / or the remaining battery level may be subject to various loss determination criteria based on user settings or manufacturer standards.

Furthermore, if the user's fourth device (204) is earbuds without a display, the description of the electronic device (101), excluding the part about the display module (160), may be appropriately applied to the fourth device (204).
[0056] According to one embodiment, the server (300) may correspond to the server (108) of FIG. 1. The server (300) may provide a function for determining the location of at least one lost device when at least one (202, 203, 204, 205, 206, or 207) of the remaining devices (202, 203, 204, 205, 206, 207) excluding the first device (201) among the user devices (200) is lost.
[0057] In one embodiment, the electronic device (400) may be a device of a user other than the owner of the second device (202). The electronic device (400) may be located near the second device (202) and may directly or indirectly obtain advertising packets broadcast from the second device (202). The electronic device (400) may include short-range communication circuitry for receiving a signal broadcast by the second device (202) using a short-range communication method (e.g., Bluetooth). The electronic device (400) may include a location measurement circuitry (e.g., GPS circuitry) for measuring its own location. The electronic device (400) may include a long-range communication circuitry (e.g., communication circuitry supporting a cellular network and / or a Wi-Fi network) for transmitting information about the second device (202) and its own location to the server (300).

The ring accessory device (410) can be worn on a user's neck.
[0077] According to one embodiment, the ring accessory device (410) may include a coupling portion (420) and a wearing portion (430). The wearing portion (430) may be an area worn (e.g., placed) on a user's neck. The coupling portion (420) may be an area coupled (e.g., physically attached) to the ring electronic device (202). For example, the coupling portion (420) may be implemented to have a size corresponding to that of the ring electronic device (202). In one embodiment, the coupling of the ring electronic device (202) and the coupling portion (420) may be achieved by an attraction force between a magnetic body included in (e.g., disposed inside) the ring electronic device (202) and a magnetic body included in the coupling portion (410). The coupling between the ring electronic device (202) and the ring accessory device (410) will be described in detail with reference to FIGS. 5A and 5B .
[0078]
[0079] FIGS. 5A and 5B are drawings illustrating the combination of a ring electronic device and a ring accessory device according to one embodiment.
[0080] Referring to FIG. 5A, according to one embodiment, each of the ring electronic device (202) and the ring accessory device (410) may include a magnetic body. For example, the ring accessory device (410) may include magnetic bodies (421-1 to 421-4). For example, the ring electronic device (202) may include magnetic bodies (291-1 to 291-4). The magnetic bodies (421-1 to 421-4) and the magnetic bodies (291-1 to 291-4) may be implemented to correspond to each other. For example, the magnetic bodies (421-1 to 421-4) and the magnetic bodies (291-1 to 291-4) may be implemented in the same number. For example, the magnetic bodies (421-1 to 421-4) and the magnetic bodies (291-1 to 291-4) can be implemented at corresponding positions. In Fig. 5a, only four magnetic bodies are illustrated, but this is not limited thereto.
[0081] According to one embodiment, the coupling of the ring electronic device (202) and the ring accessory device (410) may be achieved by an attraction force generated between the magnetic bodies (291-1 to 291-4) included in (e.g., disposed inside) the ring electronic device (202) and the magnetic bodies (421-1 to 421-4) included in the ring accessory device (410).
[0082] Referring to FIG. 5b, according to one embodiment, a front view (501) and a side view (502) of a combination (510) of a ring electronic device and a ring accessory device can be seen.
[0083] According to one embodiment, the coupling of the ring electronic device (202) and the ring accessory device (410) can be detected by a hall sensor (e.g., 292-1, 292-2 of FIG. 5A) (e.g., 292 of FIG. 5B) included in the ring electronic device (202). The hall sensors (292-1, 292-2) can detect the magnetic force of the magnetic materials (421-1 to 421-4) included in the ring accessory device (410). When the Hall sensors (292-1, 292-2) detect not only the magnetic force of the magnetic body (291-1 to 291-4) of the ring electronic device (202) but also the magnetic force of the magnetic body (421-1 to 421-4) of the ring accessory device (410), the ring electronic device (202) can detect the coupling with the ring accessory device (410). By the Hall sensors (292-1, 292-2) detecting the unique magnetic force value of the ring accessory device (410), the ring electronic device (202) can specify the device coupled to itself (e.g., the ring accessory device (410)). In one embodiment, when the magnetic force value detected by the Hall sensors (292-1, 292-2) is different from the stored value, the ring electronic device (202) may not update the operating mode.
[0084] According to one embodiment, the number of Hall sensors is not limited to two as illustrated in FIG. 5A, and the ring electronic device (202) may include only one Hall sensor. The Hall sensors (e.g., 292-1, 292-2) may be sensors that utilize the Hall effect (e.g., a phenomenon in which a voltage is generated in a direction perpendicular to the current and the magnetic field when a magnetic field is applied to a current-carrying conductor). The Hall sensors (e.g., 292-1, 292-2) may be classified as analog Hall sensors or digital Hall sensors. The Hall sensors (e.g., 292-1, 292-2) can detect the direction and magnitude of a magnetic field.
[0085] According to one embodiment, the ring electronic device (202) can detect its own rotation direction. Through the Hall sensors (292-1, 292-2), the ring electronic device (202) can detect its own rotation direction (e.g., clockwise rotation or counterclockwise rotation).
[0086] According to one embodiment, the ring electronic device (202) can detect its own rotation angle. Through the Hall sensors (292-1, 292-2), the coupling state (e.g., change in magnetic force) that changes according to its own rotation can be detected. For example, if four magnetic bodies are provided as illustrated in FIG. 5A, the ring electronic device (202) can detect its own rotation angle in 90-degree increments. For example, if the ring electronic device (202) is provided with 12 magnetic bodies, the ring electronic device (202) can detect its own rotation angle in 30-degree increments. In addition, the ring electronic device (202) can utilize an interpolation method to detect the rotation angle more precisely.
[0087] According to one embodiment, the ring electronic device (202) may update the operating mode of the ring electronic device (202) based on the detection of rotation (e.g., detection of the rotation direction and / or rotation angle). The operating mode of the ring electronic device (202) and the updating thereof will be described in detail with reference to FIG. 8.
[0088]
[0089] FIGS. 6A to 6C are drawings illustrating the combination of a ring electronic device and a ring accessory device according to one embodiment.
[0090] Referring to FIG. 6A, according to one embodiment, a front view (601) and a side view (602) of a ring accessory device (410) can be seen. The ring accessory device (410) can be a necklace-shaped accessory that can be combined with a ring electronic device (e.g., the ring electronic device (202) of FIG. 3A). The ring accessory device (410) can be worn on a user's neck.
[0091] According to one embodiment, the ring accessory device (410) may include a wearable portion (430) and a ring holder (440). The wearable portion (430) may be an area worn (e.g., rested) on a user's neck. The ring holder (440) may be an area coupled (e.g., physically attached) to the ring electronic device (202). The ring holder (440) may be implemented in a size in which the ring electronic device (202) can be inserted. The coupling between the ring electronic device (202) and the ring holder (440) may be accomplished by inserting the ring electronic device (202) into the ring holder (440).
[0092] Referring to FIG. 6B , according to one embodiment, a front view (603) and a side view (604) of a combination (510) of a ring electronic device and a ring accessory device can be confirmed. For example, the combination of the ring electronic device (202) and the ring holder (440) can be established based on a physical engagement between the ring electronic device (202) and the ring holder (440). For example, the combination of the ring electronic device (202) and the ring holder (440) can be established based on an attractive force generated between a magnetic body included in the ring electronic device (202) (e.g., the magnetic body (291) of FIG. 6C) and a magnetic body (441) included in the ring accessory device (410) (e.g., the magnetic body (441) included in the ring holder (440)). Through FIG. 6c, let us examine in more detail the joining area (610) of the ring electronic device (202) and the ring holder (440).
[0093] Referring to FIG. 6C, according to one embodiment, a method for detecting a coupling between a ring electronic device and a ring accessory device can be confirmed. In one embodiment, referring to case 1 (610-1), a hall sensor (292-1, 292-2) included in a ring electronic device (202) can detect the magnetic force of a magnetic body (441) included in a ring holder (440) of a ring accessory device (410).
[0094] According to one embodiment, referring to case 2 (610-2), a light receiving sensor (293) included in a ring electronic device (202) can detect an optical signal of a ring accessory device (410). The optical signal of the ring accessory device (410) may be output from a light emitting unit (442) included in a ring holder (440) of the ring accessory device (410). In one embodiment, in order to reduce the burden of continuously outputting an optical signal, the ring accessory device (410) may further include a proximity sensor. The ring accessory device (410) that detects the proximity of the ring electronic device (202) through the proximity sensor can output an optical signal through the light emitting unit (442). By detecting a unique optical signal (e.g., an optical signal having a unique period) of a ring accessory device (410) by a light receiving sensor (293) of a ring electronic device (202), the ring electronic device (202) can identify a device coupled to it (e.g., a ring accessory device (410)).
[0095]
[0096] FIG. 7 is a drawing for explaining a ring accessory device according to one embodiment.
[0097] Referring to FIG. 7, according to one embodiment, the ring accessory device (410) may further include a communication circuit (450) and an input button (451). After the connection between the ring accessory device (410) and the ring electronic device (202) is established, the ring accessory device (410) may transmit user input (e.g., pressing) information regarding the input button (451) to the ring electronic device (202). The ring accessory device (410) may transmit the user input information to the ring electronic device (202) through the communication circuit (450) (e.g., a communication circuit supporting NFC (near field communication)).
[0098] According to one embodiment, the ring electronic device (202) can receive user input information via the communication circuit (210-1). For example, the ring electronic device (202) can broadcast the user input information. For example, the ring electronic device (202) can transmit the user input information to a paired electronic device (e.g., the first device (201) of FIG. 1). The user input information may be for setting (e.g., updating) the operating mode of the ring electronic device (202), but is not limited thereto. The operating mode of the ring electronic device (202) and its updating will be described below.
[0099]
[0100] FIG. 8 is a drawing for explaining an operation mode setting corresponding to rotation of a ring electronic device according to one embodiment.
[0101] Referring to FIG. 8, according to one embodiment, a ring electronic device (e.g., ring electronic device (202) of FIG. 3A) can detect a changed engagement state (e.g., engagement state of a combination (510) of a ring electronic device and a ring accessory device) depending on its rotation. For example, the ring electronic device (e.g., ring electronic device (202) of FIG. 3A) can detect its own rotation angle with respect to a ring accessory device (e.g., ring accessory device (410) of FIG. 4).
[0102] According to one embodiment, the ring electronic device (202) may set (e.g., update) an operating mode of the ring electronic device (202) based on detection of rotation (e.g., detection of a rotational direction and / or rotational angle). The operating mode of the ring electronic device (202) may be set to correspond to a rotational angle of the ring electronic device (202).
[0103] According to one embodiment, the first engagement state (801) may be an initial engagement state (e.g., a state in which the rotation of the ring electronic device (202) is 0 degrees) of the combination (510) of the ring electronic device and the ring accessory device. For example, in the first engagement state (801), the ring electronic device (202) may operate in a location tracking mode. In one embodiment, the second engagement state (802) may be a second engagement state (e.g., a state in which the ring electronic device (202) is rotated 45 degrees clockwise with respect to the initial engagement state) of the combination (510) of the ring electronic device and the ring accessory device. For example, in the second engagement state (802), the ring electronic device (202) may change from a location tracking mode to a health tracking mode. In one embodiment, the third engagement state (803) may be a third engagement state (e.g., a state in which the ring electronic device (202) is rotated 90 degrees clockwise relative to the initial engagement state) of the combination (510) of the ring electronic device and the ring accessory device. For example, in the third engagement state (803), the ring electronic device (202) may change from a health tracking mode to a camera mode (e.g., a trigger for taking a picture). As described above, it should be noted that the rotation angle detectable by the ring electronic device (202) is not limited to 45 degrees.
[0104]
[0105] FIG. 9 is a drawing for explaining an operation mode of a ring electronic device according to one embodiment.
[0106] Referring to FIG. 9, according to one embodiment, the operation mode (e.g., 901, 902) of the ring electronic device (202) can be identified. For example, the first mode (901) of the ring electronic device (202) can be a health tracking mode. The health tracking mode can be, for example, a mode for tracking health status and / or activity information of a user (e.g., a wearer of the ring electronic device (202). The ring electronic device (202) can be worn on a finger of a user (e.g., an adult) and operated in the first mode (901). The first mode (901) can be a mode for transmitting information sensed by a sensor included in the ring electronic device (202) (e.g., sensors 260, 270, and / or 280 of FIG. 3A) to the electronic device (201) (e.g., the first device (201) of FIG. 2) via a first communication method. For example, the first communication method may be a method of transmitting sensed information to an electronic device (201) paired with a ring electronic device (202). For example, the first communication method may be a method of broadcasting the sensed information to an external source. For example, the first communication method may be a method of transmitting the sensed information at a set cycle.
[0107] In one embodiment, the second mode (902) of the ring electronic device (202) may be a location tracking mode. The location tracking mode may be a mode that utilizes a find-when-lost function (e.g., see FIG. 2). For example, the ring electronic device (202) may be coupled with a ring accessory device (410) (e.g., 510) and may operate in the second mode (902). The combination of the ring electronic device and the ring accessory device (510) may be worn around the neck of a user (e.g., a child). The combination of the ring electronic device and the ring accessory device (510) may operate in the second mode (902) and track the location of the wearer (e.g., a child). In one embodiment, the second mode may be a mode that unpairs the ring electronic device with the electronic device (201) and deactivates at least one of the sensors activated in the first mode.
[0108] According to one embodiment, the second mode (902) may be a mode in which identification information of the ring electronic device (202) and / or location information of the ring electronic device (202) are broadcast to the outside (e.g., data is transmitted to an unspecified number of people) through a second communication method. The second communication method may include a short-range communication method (e.g., Bluetooth, Bluetooth low energy (BLE), near field communication (NFC), ultra-wide band (UWB) communication, and / or infrared (Infra-red) communication). The identification information of the ring electronic device (202) and / or location information of the ring electronic device (202) may be broadcast through an advertising packet based on the short-range communication method. The electronic device (400) that receives the advertising packet may transmit the advertising packet to the server (300). The server (300) may transmit the advertising packet to the electronic device (201). Through the combination (510) of the ring electronic device and the ring accessory device operating in the second mode (902), the user of the electronic device (201) (e.g., a guardian of the wearer (e.g., a child) of the combination (510) of the ring electronic device and the ring accessory device) can track the location of the wearer (e.g., a child) of the combination (510) of the ring electronic device and the ring accessory device.
[0109]
