[0001] Cross-citation with related applications
[0002] This application claims the benefit of priority from Korean Patent Application No. 10-2023-0118518, filed September 6, 2023, the entire contents of which are incorporated herein by reference.
[0003] Technology field
[0004] The present invention relates to a device and method for aligning and stacking a plurality of unit cells for a secondary battery.
[0005] To address environmental pollution caused by the use of petroleum resources and the resulting energy shortage resulting from petroleum depletion, research and development are underway on power generation based on eco-friendly energy sources. In particular, active research is being conducted on secondary batteries, which offer high utility due to their ability to be repeatedly charged and discharged. Research is also being conducted on various aspects of secondary batteries, including their materials, structure, processes, and stability.
[0006] Common types of secondary batteries include nickel-cadmium batteries, nickel-metal hydride batteries, lithium-ion batteries, and lithium-ion polymer batteries. These batteries are used not only in small products such as digital cameras, DVDs, MP3 players, mobile phones, PDAs, portable game devices, power tools, and e-bikes, but also in larger products requiring high output, such as electric and hybrid vehicles, as well as in power storage devices that store surplus power or renewable energy, and as backup power storage devices.
[0007] To manufacture these secondary batteries, first, an electrode active material slurry is applied to a positive electrode current collector and a negative electrode current collector to manufacture a positive electrode and a negative electrode, and these are laminated on both sides of a separator to form an electrode assembly of a predetermined shape. Then, the electrode assembly is housed in a battery case, filled with electrolyte, and sealed.
[0008] In the process of manufacturing an electrode assembly through a lamination process of positive and negative electrodes, various types of electrode assemblies are manufactured depending on the type of unit cell. For example, a bi-cell is a unit cell in which one or more positive electrodes and one or more negative electrodes are laminated with a separator interposed between them, and the types of electrodes located on both sides are the same, and a mono-cell is a unit cell in which one or more positive electrodes and one or more negative electrodes are laminated with a separator interposed between them, and the types of electrodes located on both sides are different, and lamination can also be performed simply by interposing a separator between the positive and negative electrodes.
[0009] However, during the process of stacking multiple unit cells, problems often arise where the multiple unit cells are not properly aligned. When multiple unit cells are stacked without being properly aligned to form an electrode assembly, problems arise where the yield and performance of the secondary battery are reduced.
[0010] A technology has been introduced to stack multiple unit cells more precisely by measuring and comparing the positions of the unit cells and the positions of the parts where the unit cells are stacked, thereby stacking the unit cells. However, difficulties still exist in stacking the unit cells in the correct positions. Therefore, a unit cell stacking device capable of stacking unit cells more precisely is needed.
[0011] The problem to be solved by the present invention is to provide a unit cell stacking device in which the position of a part that serves as a reference for determining the stacking position of the unit cells is maintained even when a plurality of unit cells are stacked on a mounting plate.
[0012] The problem to be solved by the present invention is to provide a unit cell stacking device that readjusts the stacking operation when the unit cells are not stacked in the correct positions.
[0013] A unit cell stacking device according to an embodiment of the present invention may include a mounting plate on which a plurality of unit cells are sequentially mounted so as to be stacked on each other, a guide portion connected to the mounting plate and guiding downward movement of the mounting plate, a measuring portion measuring positional information of the guide portion and positional information of the unit cell, and a stacking portion stacking unit cells on the mounting plate according to the positional information of the guide portion and positional information of the unit cell measured by the measuring portion.
[0014] The above-mentioned settling plate includes a connecting hole formed through each corner, and the guide part can be connected by penetrating through the connecting hole.
[0015] As a plurality of unit cells are stacked on the above-mentioned settling plate, the above-mentioned settling plate can move downward along the guide portion.
[0016] The above guide portion is formed in a plurality of pieces to be positioned at each corner of the above mounting plate, and the measuring portion can measure a first reference point where a plurality of virtual lines connecting the plurality of guide portions intersect, and a second reference point which is the center point of a unit cell located at the top among a plurality of unit cells that are stacked on top of each other.
[0017] The above laminated portion can laminate unit cells so that the first reference point and the second reference point coincide.
[0018] The unit cell stacking device according to an embodiment of the present invention may further include a control unit that controls the operation of the stacking unit according to the position information of the guide unit and the position information of the unit cell measured by the measuring unit.
[0019] The above control unit can determine whether the first reference point and the second reference point match.
[0020] The above control unit can readjust the stacking operation of the stacking unit when it determines that the first reference point and the second reference point do not match.
[0021] As the above-mentioned settling plate moves downward along the above-mentioned guide portion, the above-mentioned guide portion may be formed to protrude upward from the above-mentioned settling plate.
[0022] The stacking unit can sequentially stack a plurality of unit cells on the mounting plate so that the upper surface height of the unit cell located at the top among the plurality of unit cells and the upper surface height of the guide unit are the same.
[0023] The upper surface height of the above guide portion can be maintained constant.
[0024] The above connecting hole is formed to penetrate along the stacking direction of the unit cell, and the fixing plate can move along the guide part in a direction parallel to the stacking direction of the unit cell.
[0025] The above guide portion is formed in a plurality of pieces, and the center position of the plurality of guide portions and the center position of the unit cell stacked on the fixing plate may be the same.
[0026] A unit cell stacking method according to another embodiment of the present invention may include a stacking step in which a plurality of unit cells are stacked on a mounting plate by a stacking part, and the mounting plate moves downward along a guide part penetratingly connected to the mounting plate, a measuring step in which a measuring part measures position information of the guide part and position information of the unit cell, and a control step in which a control part controls the operation of the stacking part according to the position information of the guide part and position information of the unit cell measured in the measuring step.
[0027] In the above lamination step, the mounting plate can move downward along the guide portion through a connecting hole through which the guide portion is connected through each corner portion.
[0028] In the above measurement step, the measuring unit can measure a first reference point where a plurality of virtual lines connecting the plurality of guide units intersect, and a second reference point which is the center point of a unit cell located at the top among a plurality of unit cells that are stacked on top of each other.
[0029] The above control step may include a judgment step in which the control unit determines whether the first reference point and the second reference point match, and an adjustment step in which the control unit readjusts the stacking operation of the stacking unit if the first reference point and the second reference point are determined to be inconsistent in the judgment step.
[0030] According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, even if a plurality of unit cells are stacked on a mounting plate, the position of a part that serves as a reference for determining the stacking position of the unit cells is maintained, so that even if the mounting plate is lowered according to the stacking of the unit cells, the unit cells can be stacked more precisely.
[0031] According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, when the unit cells are not stacked in the correct positions, the stacking operation can be readjusted to stack the unit cells more precisely.
[0032] In addition, the configurations according to preferred embodiments of the present invention may include effects that can be easily predicted by those skilled in the art.

[0043] Hereinafter, with reference to the attached drawings, preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail so that those skilled in the art can easily implement the invention. However, the present invention may be implemented in various different forms and is not limited or restricted by the following examples.
[0044] In order to clearly explain the present invention, a detailed description of a part that is irrelevant to the description or a related known technology that may unnecessarily obscure the gist of the present invention has been omitted, and when adding reference signs to components of each drawing in this specification, the same or similar reference signs are attached to the same or similar components throughout the specification.
[0045] In addition, terms and words used in this specification and claims should not be interpreted as limited to their usual or dictionary meanings, but should be interpreted as meanings and concepts that conform to the technical idea of the present invention based on the principle that the inventor can appropriately define the concept of the term to explain his or her own invention in the best way.
[0046] Fig. 1 is a perspective view of a unit cell mounted on a unit cell stacking device according to a comparative example, and Fig. 2 is a schematic diagram of a unit cell stacking device according to a comparative example measuring the position of a unit cell.
[0047] Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, the unit cell stacking device according to the comparative example can measure the alignment of the unit cell (C) to settle the unit cell. For example, the unit cell measuring device according to the comparative example can include a plate (P1) on which the unit cell (C) is settled, a measuring unit (P2) that measures the position of the unit cell (C) and the position of the plate (P1), and a stacking unit (not shown) that stacks a plurality of unit cells (C) on the plate (P1).
[0048] Specifically, the stacking unit (not shown) can grasp a unit cell (C) located in another space and move it to the upper side of the plate (P1), and then release the grasped state of the unit cell (C) and place the unit cell (C) on the upper surface of the plate (P1).
[0049] In this case, the measuring unit (P2) can measure the location information of the unit cell (C). For example, the measuring unit (P2) can measure the center point information of the unit cell (C) by detecting the appearance of the unit cell (C) and specifying the center point of the unit cell (C).
[0050] In addition, the measuring unit (P2) can measure the position information of the plate (P1). For example, a plurality of vision marks (M) are formed at each corner of the plate (P1), and the measuring unit (P2) can measure the central position of the plate (P1) by specifying the point where the virtual lines connecting the plurality of vision marks (M) intersect as the center of the plate (P1).
[0051] Based on the center position information of the unit cell (C) measured by the measuring unit (P2) and the center position of the plate (P1), the stacking unit (not shown) can place the unit cell (C) on the upper surface of the plate (P1). Specifically, the stacking unit (not shown) can place the unit cell (C) on the upper surface of the plate (P1) so that the center position of the unit cell (C) and the center position of the plate (P1) are identical.
[0052] In this way, the unit cell (C) is placed on the plate (P1) according to the operating principle, but when multiple unit cells (C) are stacked, the following problem may occur.
[0053] Fig. 3 is a perspective view of a unit cell stacking device according to a comparative example in which a plurality of unit cells are stacked, and Fig. 4 is a schematic diagram of a unit cell stacking device according to a comparative example in which the positions of a plurality of stacked unit cells are measured.
[0054] Referring to FIGS. 3 and 4, a plurality of unit cells (C) may be stacked on a plate (P1). In the process of stacking a plurality of unit cells (C), the plate (P1) may gradually move downward. In addition, in the process of stacking a plurality of unit cells (C), the unit cells (C) may gradually be stacked.
[0055] As explained above, the measuring unit (P2) measures the center position of the unit cell (C) and the center position of the plate (P1), but as multiple unit cells (C) are stacked, the measurement accuracy of the measuring unit (P2) may decrease.
[0056] For example, when the measuring unit (P2) measures the center position of the unit cell (C), the measuring unit (P2) can measure the center position information of the unit cell (C) located at the top among the plurality of unit cells (C). When the measuring unit (P2) measures the center position of the plate (P1), the center point of the plate (P1), i.e., the center point of the unit cell (C) located at the bottom among the plurality of unit cells (C), can be measured.
[0057] That is, as a plurality of unit cells (C) are stacked, a distortion may occur between the center position of the unit cell (C) measured by the measuring unit (P2) and the center position of the plate (P1). This is because a height difference occurs between the center position of the unit cell (C) and the center position of the plate (P1), and the measurement range of the measuring unit (P2) is formed as an angle of view.
[0058] Due to this, when viewed from above, the position at which the stacking unit (not shown) attempts to stack the unit cell (C) and the position at which the unit cell (C) is actually to be stacked are different, and a problem may occur in which multiple unit cells (C) cannot be stacked as originally designed.
[0059] To prevent such problems and to more precisely stack unit cells (C), a unit cell stacking device (1) according to the following embodiment of the present invention may be utilized. Hereinafter, a unit cell stacking device (1) according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described.
[0060] FIG. 5 is a perspective view of a unit cell stacking device (1) according to an embodiment of the present invention, FIG. 6 is a perspective view of a unit cell stacking device (1) according to an embodiment of the present invention in which a plurality of unit cells (C) are stacked, and FIG. 7 is a block diagram of a unit cell stacking device (1) according to an embodiment of the present invention.
[0061] Referring to FIGS. 5 to 7, a unit cell stacking device (1) according to an embodiment of the present invention can sequentially stack a plurality of unit cells (C). In addition, the unit cell stacking device (1) can stack unit cells (C) at more accurate positions based on position information of the unit cells (C) and position information of the portion where the unit cells (C) are stacked.
[0062] For example, the unit cell stacking device (1) can compare the position of the unit cell (C) with the position of the part where the unit cell (C) is stacked, and if the unit cell (C) is not stacked in the correct position, adjust the stacking operation to stack the unit cell (C) in the correct position.
[0063] In this case, as multiple unit cells (C) are stacked, the portion where the unit cells (C) are stacked is lowered, and the unit cell stacking device (1) can perform the same exact stacking operation.
[0064] Specifically, the unit cell stacking device (1) may include a settling plate (10), a guide portion (11), a measuring portion (12), and a stacking portion (13).
[0065] A plurality of unit cells (C) can be sequentially mounted on the mounting plate (10) so as to be stacked on each other. For example, the mounting plate (10) is formed in the shape of a plate forming a flat surface, and a plurality of unit cells (C) can be sequentially stacked on the upper surface of the mounting plate (10).
[0066] The guide portion (11) is connected to the settling plate (10) and can guide the downward movement of the settling plate (10). For example, the settling plate (10) includes a connecting hole (100) formed through each corner, and the guide portion (11) can be connected by passing through the connecting hole (100).
[0067] According to this structure, the guide part (11) is positioned so as to penetrate the connecting hole (100), and while a plurality of unit cells (C) are stacked on the settling plate (10), the settling plate (10) can move downward along the guide part (11). In other words, the connecting hole (100) is formed so as to penetrate along the stacking direction of the unit cells (C), and the settling plate (10) can move along the guide part (11) in a direction parallel to the stacking direction of the unit cells (C).
[0068] In addition, the guide portion (11) may be formed in multiple pieces to be positioned at each corner of the mounting plate (10). However, the shape of the guide portion (11) is not limited thereto, and the guide portion (11) may include various shapes formed to penetrate the mounting plate (10) so that the mounting plate (10) can move along it.
[0069] As the settling plate (10) moves downward along the guide portion (11), the guide portion (11) can be formed to protrude upward from the settling plate (10). That is, the guide portion (11) is formed in a vertical direction, and only the settling plate (10) can move downward while the guide portion (11) maintains its posture and position.
[0070] In other words, when the upper surface of the guide portion (11) forms the same plane as the upper surface of the settling plate (10), the settling plate (10) moves downward along the guide portion (11), so that the upper surface of the guide portion (11) can be positioned higher than the upper surface of the settling plate (10).
[0071] The measuring unit (12) can measure the position information of the guide unit (11) and the position information of the unit cell (C). For example, the measuring unit (12) can view the stacked unit cell (C) while positioned on the upper side of the mounting plate (10).
[0072] The position information of the guide section (11) measured by the measuring section (12) and the position information of the unit cell (C) can be used as information that serves as a reference for the stacking operation of the stacking section (13) described later.
[0073] Figure 8 is a plan view of a unit cell stacking device (1) according to an embodiment of the present invention.
[0074] Referring to Fig. 8, the measuring unit (12) can measure the center position information of a plurality of guide units (11). For example, a plurality of guide units (11) are formed to penetrate each corner of the mounting plate (10), and the measuring unit (12) is positioned on the upper side of the guide units (11), and the center position can be calculated based on the upper surface of the plurality of guide units (11).
[0075] Specifically, the measuring unit (12) can measure the first reference point (R1) where a plurality of virtual lines connecting a plurality of guide units (11) intersect. More specifically, the measuring unit (12) can measure the intersection of virtual lines among the plurality of virtual lines connecting a plurality of guide units (11) as the first reference point (R1) when viewed from above. In other words, the measuring unit (12) can calculate the central intersection point of virtual lines connecting the center points of the upper surfaces of the guide units (11) and measure it as the first reference point (R1).
[0076] Next, the measuring unit (12) can measure the center position information of the unit cell (C). For example, when the unit cell (C) is stacked in multiple pieces and the measuring unit (12) is positioned on the upper side of the multiple unit cells (C), the center positions of the upper surfaces of the multiple unit cells (C) can be measured. Specifically, the measuring unit (12) can measure the second reference point (R2), which is the center point of the unit cell (C) located at the uppermost end among the multiple unit cells (C) that are stacked on top of each other.
[0077] The stacking unit (13) can stack the unit cell (C) on the settling plate (10). For example, the stacking unit (13) can absorb and hold a unit cell (C) located in a different space to move the unit cell (C) to the upper side of the settling plate (10). At this time, the stacking unit (13) can move horizontally while holding the unit cell (C) to move the unit cell (C) to the upper side of the settling plate (10).
[0078] The stacking unit (13) can release the holding state while positioning the unit cell (C) on the upper side of the settling plate (10) and set the unit cell (C) on the upper surface of the settling plate (10). The stacking unit (13) can stack a plurality of unit cells (C) by repeating this operation.
[0079] The stacking unit (13) can sequentially stack a plurality of unit cells (C) on the mounting plate (10) so that the upper surface height of the unit cell (C) located at the top among the plurality of unit cells (C) and the upper surface height of the guide unit (11) are the same.
[0080] In other words, when a plurality of unit cells (C) are sequentially stacked on the settling plate (10), the upper surface height of the unit cell (C) located at the top among the plurality of unit cells (C) and the upper surface height of the guide portion (11) may be the same.
[0081] That is, the upper surface height of the guide portion (11) is maintained constant, the speed at which a plurality of unit cells (C) are stacked by the stacking portion (13) and the speed at which the settling plate (10) descends are the same, and the height of the upper surface of the unit cell (C) located at the top among the plurality of unit cells (C) can be maintained constant.
[0082] As a result, the upper surface height of the guide portion (11) and the upper surface height of the unit cell (C) located at the top among the plurality of unit cells (C) can be maintained at a constant level in the same state.
[0083] The stacking unit (13) can stack the unit cell (C) on the mounting plate (10) according to the position information of the guide unit (11) and the position information of the unit cell (C) measured by the measuring unit (12). For example, the unit cell stacking device (1) can further include a control unit (14) that controls the operation of the stacking unit (13) according to the position information of the guide unit (11) and the position information of the unit cell (C) measured by the measuring unit (12).
[0084] In other words, the control unit (14) can readjust the stacking operation of the stacking unit (13) by comparing the position information of the guide unit (11) measured by the measuring unit (12) with the position information of the unit cell (C). For example, the control unit (14) can determine whether the first reference point (R1) and the second reference point (R2) measured by the measuring unit (12) match, and can determine whether the unit cell (C) is stacked in the correct position by the stacking unit (13). If the control unit (14) determines that the first reference point (R1) and the second reference point (R2) do not match, the control unit (14) can readjust the stacking operation of the stacking unit (13).
[0085] That is, the control unit (14) can control the stacking unit (13) so that the first reference point (R1) and the second reference point (R2) coincide. In other words, the stacking unit (13) can stack the unit cells (C) so that the first reference point (R1) and the second reference point (R2) coincide. In simple terms, the center positions of the plurality of guide units (11) and the center positions of the unit cells (C) stacked on the mounting plate (10) can be the same.
[0086] In summary, as a plurality of unit cells (C) are stacked on the upper surface of the settling plate (10) by the stacking portion (13), the settling plate (10) can be lowered along the guide portion (11). In this case, the guide portion (11) is fixed, and the upper surface height of the guide portion (11) is maintained constant, and since the speed at which the plurality of unit cells (C) are stacked and the speed at which the settling plate (10) is lowered are the same, the upper surface height of the unit cell (C) located at the uppermost among the plurality of unit cells (C) can also be maintained constant.
[0087] That is, a plurality of unit cells (C) are stacked on the mounting plate (10) so that the upper surface of the unit cell (C) located at the top among the plurality of unit cells (C) and the upper surface of the guide portion (11) form the same plane, and the measuring portion (12) measures the first reference point (R1) based on the upper surface of the guide portion (11), and can measure the second reference point (R2) based on the upper surface of the unit cell (C) located at the top among the plurality of unit cells (C).
[0088] A plurality of unit cells (C) are stacked so that the first reference point (R1) and the second reference point (R2) coincide, but when the control unit (14) determines that the first reference point (R1) and the second reference point (R2) do not coincide, the control unit (14) can readjust the stacking operation of the stacking unit (13) so that the first reference point (R1) and the second reference point (R2) coincide.
[0089] According to the operating principle of the unit cell stacking device (1) as described above, even if a plurality of unit cells (C) are stacked and the settling plate (10) is lowered, the first reference point (R1) is calculated based on the upper surface of the guide part (11), so that the position of the first reference point (R1) can be maintained constant. That is, regardless of the lowering operation of the settling plate (10), the first reference point (R1) and the second reference point (R2) are maintained in a state of being located on the same plane, so that a plurality of unit cells (C) can be stacked while the alignment of the unit cells (C) is maintained constant.
[0090] As a result, even if a plurality of unit cells (C) are stacked on the mounting plate (10), the position of the part that serves as a reference for determining the stacking position of the unit cells (C) is maintained, so that the unit cell stacking device (1) can stack the unit cells (C) more precisely even if the mounting plate (10) is lowered according to the stacking of the unit cells (C). In addition, the unit cell stacking device (1) can stack the unit cells (C) more precisely by readjusting the stacking operation when the unit cells (C) are not stacked in the correct position.
[0091] Hereinafter, a method for stacking unit cells (C) according to another embodiment of the present invention will be described. The method for stacking unit cells (C) according to another embodiment of the present invention relates to a method for stacking a plurality of unit cells (C) using the unit cell stacking device (1) according to the embodiment of the present invention described above. Some content that overlaps with the content of the unit cell stacking device (1) according to the embodiment of the present invention described above will be omitted below.
[0092] Figure 9 is a flowchart of a method for stacking unit cells (C) according to another embodiment of the present invention.
[0093] Referring to FIG. 9, a more precise unit cell (C) stacking process can be performed through a unit cell (C) stacking method according to another embodiment of the present invention. For example, through the unit cell (C) stacking method, the unit cell (C) can be stacked at a more precise location based on the positional information of the unit cell (C) and the positional information of the portion where the unit cell (C) is stacked.
[0094] The unit cell (C) stacking method may include a stacking step (S10), a measuring step (S20), and a control step (S30).
[0095] In the lamination step (S10), as a plurality of unit cells (C) are laminated on the mounting plate (10) by the lamination portion (13), the mounting plate (10) can move downward along the guide portion (11) that is connected through the mounting plate (10).
[0096] In the lamination step (S10), the settling plate (10) can move downward along the guide portion (11) through a connecting hole (100) through which the guide portion (11) is connected to each corner portion. As the settling plate (10) moves downward along the guide portion (11), the guide portion (11) can be formed to protrude upward from the settling plate (10).
[0097] In the measurement step (S20), the measurement unit (12) can measure the position information of the guide unit (11) and the position information of the unit cell (C). For example, the measurement unit (12) can view the stacked unit cell (C) while being positioned on the upper side of the mounting plate (10).
[0098] In the measurement step (S20), the measurement unit (12) can measure the center position information of the plurality of guide units (11). Specifically, the measurement unit (12) can measure the first reference point (R1) where the plurality of virtual lines connecting the plurality of guide units (11) intersect. More specifically, the measurement unit (12) can measure the intersection of the virtual lines among the plurality of virtual lines connecting the plurality of guide units (11) as the first reference point (R1) when viewed from above.
[0099] In the measurement step (S20), the measurement unit (12) can measure the center position information of the unit cell (C). Specifically, the measurement unit (12) can measure the second reference point (R2), which is the center point of the unit cell (C) located at the top among the plurality of unit cells (C) that are stacked on top of each other.
[0100] In the control step (S30), the control unit (14) can control the operation of the stacking unit (13) according to the position information of the guide unit (11) and the position information of the unit cell (C) measured in the measurement step (S20). The control unit (14) can readjust the stacking operation of the stacking unit (13) by comparing the position information of the guide unit (11) measured by the measurement unit (12) and the position information of the unit cell (C).
[0101] The control step (S30) may include a judgment step (S31) and an adjustment step (S31).
[0102] In the judgment step (S31), the control unit (14) can determine whether the first reference point (R1) and the second reference point (R2) match. In other words, the control unit (14) can receive the first reference point (R1) information and the second reference point (R2) information measured by the measurement unit (12) and determine whether the first reference point (R1) and the second reference point (R2) match in terms of position.
