Description

Cooling device and construction equipment including the same

[0001] An embodiment of the present invention relates to a cooling device and a construction machine including the same, and more specifically, to a cooling device that cools an engine room of a construction machine by discharging air from the engine room to the outside, and a construction machine including the same.

[0002] Typically, small construction machines have limited engine room space. Therefore, the engine room is located adjacent to the cabin.

[0003] In these cases, there's a problem with engine room heat being transferred to the cabin where the driver is seated. Specifically, if the engine room air, heated by engine operation, is transferred to the cabin, the driver must operate the cabin air conditioning system to alleviate this heat.

[0004] Alternatively, when manufacturing construction equipment, the distance between the engine room and the cabin must be increased, a configuration must be added to prevent heat transfer, or space must be secured for its installation.

[0005] However, in the case of small construction machines, the space for forming the engine room is limited, so there are restrictions on the arrangement structure of the engine room and cabin.

[0006] Therefore, a configuration capable of cooling the engine room air within a narrow space is required.

[0007] An embodiment of the present invention provides a cooling device capable of cooling an engine room by discharging air from the engine room to the outside, and a construction machine including the same.

[0008] According to an embodiment of the present invention, a cooling device for cooling an engine room whose temperature increases according to the operation of an engine placed in the engine room includes a fan for exhausting air of the engine room to the outside, a radiator through which air of the engine room passes by the fan, and a backflow prevention unit that is spaced apart from the fan and centered on the radiator to prevent backflow of air by the fan.

[0009] Additionally, the backflow prevention unit includes a baffle supported on the radiator and having at least one area coaxially disposed with the rotation center of the fan.

[0010] In addition, the backflow prevention unit may further include a main bracket that is supported by the radiator and supports the baffle, and a support bracket formed to support a reserve tank on one side of the baffle.

[0011] Additionally, the above-described cooling device may further include a shroud supported on the radiator to guide air from the engine room to move to the radiator by the fan.

[0012] Additionally, the fan can be rotated by the engine.

[0013] Alternatively, according to an embodiment of the present invention, a construction machine includes a cooling device including an upper body, a cabin installed on the upper body and having a driver's seat for a driver to sit in, a hood disposed on the upper body and partitioned from the cabin, an engine room in which an engine is disposed inside the hood, an exhaust port formed to include at least one area of a side surface of the hood, and a fan disposed within the hood in communication with the exhaust port to exhaust air from the engine room to the exhaust port to cool the engine room and operated by the engine, a radiator cooled by air supplied from the engine room according to the operation of the fan, and a backflow prevention unit disposed coaxially with the rotational center of the fan and spaced apart from the fan and the radiator to prevent air from flowing back toward the fan.

[0014] In addition, the above-described construction machine may further include an inlet that guides outside air to flow into the engine room by opening an area of the lower part of the engine room when the cooling device is in operation.

[0015] Additionally, the engine may be placed within the hood behind the driver's seat.

[0016] According to embodiments of the present invention, a cooling device and a construction machine including the same can cool an engine room by discharging air from the engine room to the outside, thereby reducing heat transmission to a driver due to heated air from the engine room.

[0025] Hereinafter, with reference to the attached drawings, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail so that those skilled in the art can easily implement the present invention. The present invention may be implemented in various different forms and is not limited to the embodiments described herein.

[0026] Please note that the drawings are schematic and not drawn to scale. The relative dimensions and proportions of parts in the drawings may be exaggerated or reduced for clarity and convenience, and any dimensions are for illustrative purposes only and are not limiting. In addition, identical structural elements or components appearing in more than one drawing are designated by the same reference numerals to indicate similar features.

[0027] The embodiments of the present invention specifically illustrate ideal embodiments of the present invention. Consequently, various modifications to the diagrams are anticipated. Therefore, the embodiments are not limited to the specific form of the illustrated area, and include, for example, modifications to the form due to manufacturing.

[0028] Hereinafter, a cooling device (600) according to one embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. 1 to 8.

[0029] A cooling device (600) according to one embodiment of the present invention includes a fan (610), a radiator (620), and a backflow prevention unit (640), as illustrated in FIGS. 3 to 8. Specifically, the cooling device (600) cools an engine (500) installed in an engine room (401), as illustrated in FIGS. 1 and 7. That is, the cooling device (600) can cool the temperature of the air in the engine room (401) in which the engine (500) is placed.

[0030] The fan (610) discharges air from the engine room (401) to the outside. Specifically, the fan (610) rotates and discharges air from the engine room (401) that has been heated according to the operation of the engine (500) to the outside, thereby preventing the temperature of the engine room (401) and the temperature of the engine (500) from rising due to the heated air from the engine room (401).

[0031] The radiator (620) is passed with air from the engine room (401) by a fan (610). The air from the engine room (401) exchanges heat with the coolant circulating inside the radiator (620) by the fan (610) and is discharged to the outside.

[0032] Additionally, a radiator (620) may be provided to cool the engine (500) by allowing coolant to pass therethrough. Specifically, coolant passing through the radiator (620) may be cooled through heat exchange with air to cool the engine (500).

[0033] The backflow prevention unit (640) is spaced apart from the fan (610). In addition, the backflow prevention unit (640) prevents the backflow of air discharged from the engine room (401) by the fan (610) and coming into contact with the radiator (620) from flowing back into the engine room (401) through the radiator (620). Specifically, the fan (610) and the backflow prevention unit (640) are spaced apart from each other with the radiator (620) as the center.

[0034] Accordingly, the cooling device (600) according to one embodiment of the present invention can lower the temperature inside the engine room (401) by effectively discharging the air in the engine room (401) to the outside of the engine room (401) by the backflow prevention unit (640), as shown in FIGS. 1 to 8.

[0035] In addition, the backflow prevention unit (640) according to one embodiment of the present invention may include a baffle (641), as shown in FIG. 5.

[0036] The baffle (641) may be supported on the radiator (620). In addition, the baffle (641) may be arranged so that at least one area thereof is concentric with the rotation center of the fan (610), as illustrated in FIG. 6. Specifically, the baffle (641) may prevent air from the engine room (401) that has passed through the radiator (620) from flowing back toward the radiator (620) and increasing its temperature due to a backflow phenomenon occurring on the concentric axis with the rotation center of the fan (610). That is, the baffle (641) may effectively prevent air that has been heated on the concentric axis with the rotation center of the fan (610) from being re-introduced into the engine room (401).

[0037] For example, foam may be combined on one side of the baffle (641) facing the radiator (620) to prevent backflow according to the air flow.

[0038] In addition, as shown in FIGS. 5 to 7, the baffle (641) is spaced apart from the fan (610) with the radiator (620) at the center, so that some of the air in the engine room (401) discharged toward the outside according to the rotation of the fan (610) can be prevented from being re-introduced toward the engine room (401) after passing through the radiator (620).

[0039] Accordingly, the baffle (641) can prevent the air that has been heated in the engine room (401) and cooled in the radiator (620) by a relatively low flow rate at the center of rotation of the fan (610) from being re-introduced toward the engine room (401).

[0040] In addition, the backflow prevention unit (640) according to one embodiment of the present invention may further include a main bracket (642) and a support bracket (643), as shown in FIGS. 5 and 6.

[0041] The main bracket (642) can be supported on the radiator (620). In addition, the main bracket (642) can support the baffle (641). Specifically, the main bracket (642) can support the baffle (641) so that it is positioned concentrically with the rotational center of the fan (610).

[0042] The support bracket (643) is arranged on one side of the baffle (641), as illustrated in FIGS. 3 to 6, and can form a space and installation area to support the reserve tank (800). Specifically, the support bracket (643) is arranged spaced apart from the baffle (641) with the main bracket (642) as the center, and can be formed to support the reserve tank (800). That is, the main bracket (642) can support the support bracket (643) and the baffle (641).

[0043] For example, the support bracket (643) is connected to the baffle (641) by a connecting member (644), as shown in FIG. 6, and the main bracket (642) and the support bracket (643) can be supported apart from each other by the connecting member (644).

[0044] Coolant passing through a radiator (620) is stored inside the reserve tank (800). Specifically, the coolant stored in the reserve tank (800) passes through the radiator (620), is cooled through heat exchange, and is supplied to the engine (500) to cool the engine (500).

[0045] Accordingly, the backflow prevention unit (640) can provide not only backflow prevention but also an installation area for the reserve tank (800). That is, by the arrangement structure of the backflow prevention unit (640), an installation space for the reserve tank (800) is secured, so that the reserve tank (800) can be compactly installed within the hood (400).

[0046] In addition, the cooling device (600) according to one embodiment of the present invention may further include a shroud (630), as shown in FIGS. 4 to 8.

[0047] The shroud (630) may be supported on the radiator (620). In addition, the shroud (630) may guide air from the engine room (401) to be moved to the radiator (620) by the fan (610). Specifically, the shroud (630) may include a through hole (631) formed in the center and an inclined region (632) formed such that an outer region thereof extends in a direction inclined toward the fan (610).

[0048] As illustrated in FIG. 8, at least a portion of the fan (610) may be disposed inside the shroud (630). Specifically, the shroud (630) includes a protruding region (633) connected to an inclined region (632), and at least a portion of the fan (610) may be disposed within this protruding region (633).

[0049] And, as shown in FIGS. 6 and 8, one end of the fan (610) and the inner circumference of the through hole (631) can be spaced apart from each other.

[0050] Accordingly, the shroud (630) can effectively guide the air in the engine room (401) to be discharged toward the radiator (620).

[0051] Additionally, the fan (610) of the cooling device (600) according to one embodiment of the present invention can be rotated by the engine (500).

[0052] The fan (610) is connected to the engine (500) and can rotate when the engine (500) operates. Specifically, the fan (610) can rotate when the engine (500) operates to exhaust air from the engine room (401) to the outside, so that not only the air inside the engine room (401) but also the air from the radiator (620) can be effectively cooled.

[0053] By this configuration, the cooling device (600) according to one embodiment of the present invention can effectively lower the air in the engine room (401) by discharging the air in the engine room (401) to the outside.

[0054] Hereinafter, a construction machine (101) according to one embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. 1 to 8.

[0055] A construction machine (101) according to one embodiment of the present invention includes an upper body (100), a cabin (300), a hood (400), an engine room (401), an exhaust port (410), and a cooling device (600), as shown in FIGS. 1 to 8.

[0056] The upper body (100) is supported by the driving body (200). In addition, the driving body (200) and the upper body (100) are rotatably connected, so that the upper body (100) can rotate around the driving body (200) and perform work.

[0057] A cabin (300) is installed on the upper body (100). In addition, a driver's seat (310) for the driver is arranged within the cabin (300). In addition, a control unit capable of operating the construction machine (101) or a display device capable of indicating the status of such operation may be installed within the cabin (300).

[0058] The hood (400) may be placed on the upper body (100). In addition, the hood (400) is placed on the upper body (100) to be separated from the cabin (300). In addition, the hood (400) may form part of the exterior of the construction machine (101).

[0059] An engine room (401) is formed within a hood (400). In addition, the engine room (401) is installed on an upper body (100) that supports a cabin (300). The engine room (401) may be formed on an upper body (100) that is separated from the cabin (300). In addition, an engine (500) is arranged within the engine room (401). The engine (500) may provide power to drive or operate a construction machine (101). Specifically, the engine (500) may provide power to operate a hydraulic pump or a motor so that the construction machine (101) can work.

[0060] The engine room (401) can be placed adjacent to the driver's seat (310) installed in the cabin (300).

[0061] The outlet (410) may be formed to include at least one area of the side surface of the hood (400). In addition, the outlet (410) may be formed to include a portion of the side surface of the hood (400). Specifically, the outlet (410) may be formed to allow the hood (400) to communicate with the engine room (401) and the outside.

[0062] The cooling device (600) is placed inside a hood (400) that is connected to the discharge port (410). In addition, the cooling device (600) discharges air from the engine room (401) to the discharge port (410) to cool the engine room (401).

[0063] According to this configuration, the construction machine (101) according to one embodiment of the present invention can cool the engine room (401) by discharging air from the engine room (401) through the discharge port (410).

[0064] Additionally, the construction machine (101) according to one embodiment of the present invention may further include an inlet (420).

[0065] The inlet (420) may be formed by opening the lower part of the engine room (401). In addition, the inlet (420) may guide outside air to flow into the engine room (401). In addition, when the cooling device (600) is in operation, outside air flows in through the inlet (420), and air in the engine room (401) may be discharged to the outside through the outlet (410).

[0066] That is, the inlet (420) and the outlet (410) can be formed in a direction that intersects each other.

[0067] Accordingly, the temperature of the air inside the engine room (401) can be lowered by being discharged to the outside through the discharge port (410) according to the operation of the cooling device (600). In addition, the cooling device (600) can cool the temperature inside the engine room (401) located adjacent to the driver's seat (310), thereby effectively preventing the temperature of the elevated air in the engine room (401) from being transmitted to the driver.

[0068] In addition, the cooling device (600) of the construction machine (101) according to one embodiment of the present invention may further include a fan (610) and a radiator (620).

[0069] The fan (610) can be operated by the engine (500). Specifically, the fan (610) is connected to the engine (500) and can rotate together with the operation of the engine (500).

[0070] The radiator (620) has coolant passing through it and is cooled by air supplied from the engine room (401) according to the operation of the fan (610).

[0071] The cooling device (600) of the construction machine (101) according to one embodiment of the present invention can be formed with the same configuration as the cooling device (600) described above.

[0072] Additionally, the engine (500) of the construction machine (101) according to one embodiment of the present invention may be placed inside the hood (400) at the rear of the driver's seat (310).

[0073] The engine (500) may be placed within the hood (400) at the rear of the driver's seat (310). Specifically, the engine (500) may be placed within the engine room (401) at the rear of the driver's seat (310), so that the construction machine (101) can reduce the impact of the heated air from the engine room (401) formed adjacent to the driver's seat (310) on the driver.

[0074] The cooling device (600) can effectively reduce the heat felt by the driver in the engine room (401) of a small construction machine (101) due to the heated internal air of the engine room (401) formed in the area adjacent to the driver's seat (310). Accordingly, the driver can stably operate the construction machine (101) without being affected by the heated internal air of the engine room (401) within the cabin (300) while operating the construction machine (101).

[0075] For example, the center of the driver's seat (310) and the center of the engine (500) may be arranged parallel to the longitudinal direction of the construction machine (101).

[0076] Alternatively, at least one area of the engine (500) may be placed within the upper body (100) lower than the driver's seat (310).

[0077] In addition, the cooling device (600) of the construction machine (101) according to one embodiment of the present invention may further include a main bracket (642), a support bracket (643), and a shroud (630) similar to the cooling device (600) described above.

[0078] The reserve tank (800) installed on the support bracket (643) may be positioned relatively closer to the outlet (410) than the radiator (620). Specifically, a shroud (630) and a fan (610) may be positioned on one side of the radiator (620). Additionally, a baffle (641), a main bracket (642), and a support bracket (643) may be positioned on the other side of the radiator (620).

[0079] Additionally, the discharge port (410) of the construction machine (101) according to one embodiment of the present invention may be formed on the side of the hood (400).

[0080] The outlet (410) is formed on the side of the hood (400), and a grill can be installed in the outlet (410) to enable air to be discharged and to block the inflow of external foreign substances.

[0081] For example, the hood (400) may be formed by combining multiple housings. In addition, at least one of these housings may be configured to be installed inside the engine room (401) and include an openable door for easy operator access.

[0082] By this configuration, the construction machine (101) according to one embodiment of the present invention can effectively exhaust air from the engine room (401) to the outside and cool the engine room (401) by including a cooling device (600).

[0083] Accordingly, the heat transferred to the driver and the cabin (300) by the heated air of the engine room (401) located adjacent to the driver's seat (310) can be effectively reduced. Accordingly, the driver can stably operate the construction machine (101) within the cabin (300) where the driver's seat (310) is located.

[0084] Although the embodiments of the present invention have been described with reference to the attached drawings, those skilled in the art will understand that the present invention can be implemented in other specific forms without changing the technical idea or essential features thereof.

[0085] Therefore, the embodiments described above should be understood as being exemplary and not restrictive in all respects, and the scope of the present invention is indicated by the claims described below in the above detailed description, and all changes or modifications derived from the meaning and scope of the claims and their equivalent concepts should be interpreted as being included in the scope of the present invention.

[0086] An embodiment of the present invention can provide a cooling device capable of cooling an engine room by discharging air from the engine room to the outside, and a construction machine including the same.
