Description

Management configuration method, computing device and server

[0001] This application claims priority to the Chinese patent application filed with the State Intellectual Property Office on September 15, 2023, with application number 202311205948.6 and application name “A management configuration method, computing device and server”, the entire contents of which are incorporated by reference into this application. Technical Field

[0002] The embodiments of the present application relate to the server field, and in particular to a management configuration method, a computing device, and a server. Background Art

[0003] As is well known, the baseboard management controller (BMC) and the central processing unit (CPU) in a server share a physical network port. The network controller (NC) on which this physical network port resides forwards messages from the network to the BMC's management system based on the BMC's network configuration (configuration information), including the media access control address (MAC address), virtual local area network (VLAN) identifier, and broadcast filter status. However, when the NC is restarted, upgraded, or repaired, some or all of the configuration parameters in the configuration information on the NC can change. In severe cases, this can cause the BMC to disconnect from the network.

[0004] However, common configuration parameter recovery methods for configuration information reduce the recovery efficiency of the configuration parameters, and in severe cases may result in loss of data to be sent to the BMC.

[0005] Summary of the Invention

[0006] The embodiments of the present application provide a management configuration method, a computing device, and a server for improving the efficiency of data recovery.

[0007] To achieve the above objectives, the embodiments of the present application adopt the following technical solutions:

[0008] In the first aspect, an embodiment of the present application provides a management configuration method, which is applied to a baseboard management controller BMC, and the method includes: receiving an event message sent by a network card, the event message being used to indicate that there is an executed event in the network card; based on the event message, obtaining configuration parameters of the configuration information in the network card; determining whether the configuration parameters of the configuration information in the network card are the same as the preset configuration parameters in the BMC; if different, sending an indication message to the network card, the indication message being used to instruct the network card to update the configuration parameters of the configuration information to the preset configuration parameters.

[0009] An embodiment of the present application provides a management configuration method. When an executed event occurs in a network card, the network card actively sends an event message to the BMC. The BMC obtains configuration parameters of configuration information in the network card based on the event message. When the configuration parameters of the configuration information are different from the preset configuration parameters in the BMC, the BMC sends an indication message to the network card, so that the network card updates the configuration parameters of the configuration information in the network card to the preset configuration parameters in the BMC in response to the indication message, thereby ensuring that the configuration parameters of the configuration information in the network card can be restored in a timely manner when they change, thereby improving the efficiency of data recovery.

[0010] In addition, in the above embodiment, the network card will actively send an event message to the BMC only when there is an executed event in the network card. Then, only after receiving the event message, the BMC will check whether the configuration parameters of the configuration information in the network card are the same as the preset configuration parameters in the BMC. Therefore, the BMC does not need to frequently (i.e., periodically) obtain the configuration parameters of the configuration information in the network card from the network card to compare with the preset configuration parameters in the BMC, thereby saving the BMC's transmission resources.

[0011] In one possible implementation, the BMC stores a correspondence between an event identifier and configuration information; the event message includes: an identifier of an executed event; and determining whether configuration parameters of the configuration information are the same as preset configuration parameters in the BMC specifically includes: determining target configuration information in the configuration information based on the identifier of the executed event and the correspondence, where the target configuration information is the configuration information corresponding to the identifier of the executed event; and determining whether the configuration parameters of the target configuration information are the same as corresponding configuration parameters in the preset configuration parameters.

[0012] In the above embodiment, the BMC preferentially determines the configuration information (i.e., target configuration information) corresponding to the executed event reported by the network card from the correspondence between the event identifier and the configuration information; then, the BMC compares the configuration parameters of the target configuration information in the network card with the preset configuration parameters in the BMC to determine whether they are the same. If the configuration parameters of the target configuration information in the network card and the BMC are different, an indication message including the preset configuration parameters of the target configuration information in the BMC is sent to the network card, so that the network card updates the configuration parameters of the configuration information in the network card to the preset configuration parameters in the BMC based on the indication message, thereby ensuring that the configuration parameters of the configuration information in the network card can be restored in a timely manner when they change, thereby improving the efficiency of data recovery.

[0013] In one possible implementation, the BMC stores a correspondence between event identifiers and configuration information; the event message includes: an identifier of an executed event; the above-mentioned obtaining configuration parameters of the configuration information in the network card based on the event message includes: determining the configuration information corresponding to the identifier of the executed event from the above-mentioned correspondence; and querying the network card and obtaining the configuration parameters of the configuration information.

[0014] In the above embodiment, the BMC preferentially determines the configuration information corresponding to the executed event reported by the network card from the correspondence between the event identifier and the configuration information; then, the BMC queries the network card and obtains the configuration parameters of the configuration information corresponding to the executed event; finally, when the configuration parameters of the configuration information corresponding to the executed event in the network card and the BMC are different, an indication message including the configuration parameters of the configuration information corresponding to the executed event in the BMC is sent to the network card, so that the network card updates the configuration parameters of the configuration information in the network card to the preset configuration parameters in the BMC based on the indication message; since the BMC in this embodiment only queries the network card and obtains the configuration parameters of the configuration information corresponding to the executed event, it does not need to obtain the configuration parameters of all configuration information in the network card, thereby saving the transmission resources of the BMC.

[0015] In one possible implementation, the above-mentioned event message includes: an identifier of the configuration information, which is the configuration information that has been reset after the network card executes the executed event; the above-mentioned obtaining of the configuration parameters of the configuration information in the network card based on the event message includes: based on the identifier of the above-mentioned configuration information, querying the network card and obtaining the configuration parameters of the configuration information.

[0016] In the above embodiment, after an executed event occurs on the network card, the network card will send configuration information with reset configuration parameters (i.e., abnormal configuration information) to the BMC. Then, when the configuration parameters of the abnormal configuration information in the network card and the BMC are different, the BMC will send an indication message including the preset configuration parameters of the abnormal configuration information in the BMC to the network card, so that the network card updates the configuration parameters of the configuration information in the network card to the preset configuration parameters in the BMC based on the indication message, thereby ensuring that the configuration parameters of the configuration information in the network card can be restored in time when they change, thereby improving the efficiency of data recovery.

[0017] In a possible implementation, the indication message includes: difference configuration parameters between the configuration parameters of the configuration information and the preset configuration parameters, and the indication message is used to instruct the network card to update the configuration parameters of the configuration information to the preset configuration parameters based on the difference configuration parameters.

[0018] In one possible implementation, the configuration information includes: the media access control MAC address of the BMC, the VLAN identifier of the virtual local area network where the BMC is located, the status of the broadcast filter, the status of the transfer-in function, the status of the transfer-out function, and the status of the setting function; wherein the transfer-in function is used to forward messages from the network to the BMC, the transfer-out function is used to forward messages from the BMC to the network, and the setting function is used to execute the setting commands sent by the BMC; and / or; the events include one or more of the following: a network card restart event, a network card upgrade event, a network card reset event, a network port status change event, a network card driver abnormality event, a network card fault repair event, and a bandwidth abnormality event.

[0020] In the second aspect, an embodiment of the present application provides a management configuration method, which is applied to a network card, and the method includes: sending an event message to a baseboard management controller BMC, where the event message is used to indicate an executed event existing in the network card, so that the BMC obtains configuration parameters of the configuration information in the network card based on the event message; and sending an indication message to the network card when the configuration parameters of the configuration information are different from the preset configuration parameters in the BMC; receiving and responding to the indication message sent by the BMC, and modifying the configuration parameters of the configuration information in the network card to the preset configuration parameters in the BMC.

[0023] In one possible implementation, the processing unit is specifically used to determine the target configuration information in the configuration information based on the identifier and correspondence of the executed event, where the target configuration information is the configuration information corresponding to the identifier of the executed event; the processing unit is also specifically used to determine whether the configuration parameters of the target configuration information are the same as the corresponding configuration parameters in the preset configuration parameters.

[0046] The term "and / or" in this article is merely a description of the association relationship between associated objects, indicating that three relationships may exist. For example, A and / or B can mean: A exists alone, A and B exist at the same time, and B exists alone.

[0047] The terms "first" and "second" in the description and claims of the embodiments of this application are used to distinguish different objects, rather than to describe a specific order of objects. For example, "first configuration information" and "second configuration information" are used to distinguish different configuration items, rather than to describe a specific order of configuration items.

[0048] In the embodiments of this application, words such as "exemplary" or "for example" are used to indicate examples, illustrations, or descriptions. Any embodiment or design described as "exemplary" or "for example" in the embodiments of this application should not be interpreted as being preferred or advantageous over other embodiments or designs. Rather, the use of words such as "exemplary" or "for example" is intended to present the relevant concepts in a concrete manner.

[0049] First, some concepts involved in a management configuration method, computing device, and server provided in an embodiment of the present application are explained.

[0050] MAC address: This is an address used to identify the location of a network device. For example, if the network device is a BMC, the BMC's MAC address can be used to identify the BMC's location.

[0051] As is well known, the BMC in a server is connected to the network through a network card. The network configuration of the BMC is set in the network card. The network configuration includes configuration information (i.e., configuration items) and configuration parameters of the configuration information (i.e., parameter values of the configuration items). When the network card receives a data packet sent to the BMC, the network card forwards the packet to the BMC based on the BMC's network configuration. However, after the network card is restarted, upgraded, or fault recovered, the configuration parameters of the configuration information in the BMC's network configuration set in the network card may change. In this case, because the BMC's network configuration set in the network card is issued by the BMC, if the configuration parameters of some or all of the configuration information in the BMC's network configuration change abnormally, the network card cannot automatically restore the configuration parameters of the abnormally changed configuration information.

[0052] For example, assume that the MAC address of the BMC set in the network card is xxxaaxx (abbreviated as: the first MAC address); when the MAC address in the BMC is changed to xxxbbxx (abbreviated as: the second MAC address), the BMC sends the second MAC address to the network card. After receiving the second MAC address, the network card updates the first MAC address set in the network card to the second MAC address, and persists the second MAC address. If the network card is restarted after it updates the first MAC address to the second MAC address and before it persists the second MAC address, then since the persistent MAC address in the network card is the first MAC address, the network card will set the persistent first MAC address in the network card (i.e., the effective first MAC address) after it is restarted. At this time, since the second MAC address does not exist in the network card, the network card cannot restore the currently effective first MAC address to the second MAC address. At this time, the BMC cannot be located based on the first MAC address, causing the BMC to disconnect from the network.

[0053] In one embodiment, a method for restoring the BMC network configuration is to periodically obtain, through the BMC, the BMC network configuration set in the network card (referred to as the second network configuration); then, when the second network configuration is different from the BMC network configuration stored in the BMC (referred to as the first network configuration), send the first network configuration to the network card, so that the network card updates the second network configuration to the same network configuration as the first network configuration, thereby restoring the changed configuration parameters in the second network configuration to the configuration parameters before the change.

[0054] However, when the configuration parameters in the second network configuration change compared to the configuration parameters in the first network configuration, the network card can only wait for the next cycle to obtain and restore the changed configuration parameters, thereby reducing the efficiency of data (such as network configuration) recovery. In severe cases, it may cause the loss of data to be sent to the BMC.

[0055] Based on this, an embodiment of the present application provides a management configuration method. When there is an executed event in the network card, the network card actively sends an event message to the BMC. The BMC obtains the configuration parameters of the configuration information in the network card based on the event message. When the configuration parameters of the configuration information are different from the preset configuration parameters in the BMC, an indication message is sent to the network card so that the network card updates the configuration parameters of the configuration information in the network card to the preset configuration parameters in the BMC in response to the indication message, thereby ensuring that the configuration parameters of the configuration information in the network card can be restored in time when they change, thereby improving the efficiency of data recovery.

[0056] The management configuration method provided in the embodiment of the present application is applicable to the data interaction system shown in Figure 1, which includes: device A and device B, and device A and device B interact with data through a network; wherein, the internal structures of device A and device B are similar and both include at least: a CPU, a network card and a BMC.

[0057] The network card and the CPU are connected based on a PCI-E (PCI-Express) bus. The link on the connection is used to provide an in-band interface (host interface) for the network card, so that the CPU can exchange data with the network card through the in-band interface.

[0058] The NIC and BMC are connected via a physical bus reduced media independent interface (RMII), which adheres to the network controller sideband interface (NC-SI) protocol. This RMII connection provides a sideband interface for the NIC, enabling the BMC to send NC-SI control messages (also known as processing commands) to the NIC, or to send data messages to an external device (e.g., device B) based on the sideband interface between the NIC and BMC.

[0059] The above network card at least includes: a physical network port, a receiving interface C, a sending interface C, a filter, a command processor, a sending interface B and a receiving interface B.

[0060] Among them, the physical network port is used to receive a data message (abbreviated as: message B) sent to device B through the network, and transmit the message B to the diverter (not shown in the figure) through the receiving interface C. The diverter is used to determine the MAC address of the destination of message B; when the MAC address is the MAC address of the CPU, the diverter sends message B to the CPU through the sending interface D (not shown in the figure); when the MAC address is the MAC address of the BMC, the diverter transmits the message B to the filter. The filter is used to determine whether the network card has enabled the function of sending external data messages (such as message B) to the BMC, that is, the filter is used to determine whether the sending interface B on the network card is enabled; in addition, the filter is also used to filter message B based on preset filtering rules when the sending interface B is enabled, and send the filtered message B to the BMC through the sending interface B.

[0061] The receiving interface B is used to receive processing commands or data packets sent by the BMC. When the BMC sends a processing command (referred to as "Command B") to the network card, the receiving interface B transmits Command B to the command processor, which executes Command B and sends the execution result to the BMC via the sending interface B. The processing commands include, but are not limited to, the Enable Broadcast Filter command (0x10), the Disable Broadcast Filter command (0x11), the Enable Global Multicast Filter command (0x12), the Disable Global Multicast Filter command (0x13), the Enable Channel command (0x03), and the Disable Channel command (0x04). When the BMC sends a data packet (referred to as "Message C") to the network card, the receiving interface B transmits the received Message C to the network via the sending interface C and the physical network port.

[0062] The BMC includes a receiving interface A and a sending interface A, wherein the receiving interface A is used to receive data packets sent by the network card, such as the above-mentioned message B. The sending interface A is used to send processing commands or data packets to the network card, such as sending the above-mentioned command B or sending the above-mentioned message C.

[0063] It should be noted that the MAC address of the BMC, the enable status of the sending interface B, and the preset filtering rules of the filter set in the above-mentioned network card are configured as the network configuration of the BMC. The configuration parameters of the configuration information in the BMC's network configuration (such as: the MAC address of the BMC is xxxaaxx) are sent by the BMC to the network card. After the network card receives the network configuration of the BMC sent by the BMC, the network configuration is effective and the network configuration of the BMC is persisted, so that the network card can read the persisted BMC network configuration after restart and make it effective.

[0064] When an event (such as a restart event) occurs on the network card, the network card actively sends an event message to the BMC. In response to the event message, if the locally stored BMC network configuration (referred to as the first network configuration) and the BMC network configuration set in the network card (referred to as the second network configuration) are different, the BMC controls the network card to update the second network configuration to the first network configuration.

[0065] 2 is a schematic diagram of a hardware structure of a computing device of device A or device B. The computing device may be a blade server, a high-density server, a rack server, or a high-performance server.

[0066] The hardware of the computing device includes a processor, such as a central processing unit (CPU), an out-of-band controller, and memory. The software mainly includes an out-of-band management module, processor firmware, and an operating system (OS) management unit.

[0067] The out-of-band management module is located within the out-of-band controller, and the OS management unit is located within the processor. The processor firmware can be located within the processor (as shown in FIG2 ), or the processor firmware can be located within a firmware chip outside the processor (not shown in FIG2 ). The out-of-band management module can be a management unit for a non-business module. For example, the out-of-band management module can remotely maintain and manage the computing device via a dedicated data channel. The out-of-band management module is completely independent of the computing device's operating system and can communicate with the basic input and output system (BIOS) and the OS (or OS management unit) via the computing device's out-of-band management interface.

[0068] Exemplarily, the out-of-band management module may include a unit for managing the operating status of the computing device, a management system in a management chip outside the processor, a BMC, a system management module (SMM), etc. It should be noted that the embodiments of the present application do not limit the specific form of the out-of-band management module, and the above description is merely an example.

[0069] Exemplarily, processor firmware (also referred to as processor firmware program) may be firmware, basic input and output system (BIOS), management engine (ME), microcode, or intelligent management unit (IMU). It should be noted that the embodiments of the present application do not limit the specific form of processor firmware, and the above description is merely exemplary.

[0070] Among them, the memory, also known as internal memory or main memory, is installed in the memory slot on the motherboard of the computing device. The memory communicates with the memory controller through a memory channel.

[0071] It should be noted that the system architecture and application scenarios described in the embodiments of the present application are intended to more clearly illustrate the technical solutions of the embodiments of the present application, and do not constitute a limitation on the technical solutions provided in the embodiments of the present application. Ordinary technicians in this field can know that with the evolution of the system architecture and the emergence of new business scenarios, the technical solutions provided in the embodiments of the present application are also applicable to similar technical problems.

[0072] An embodiment of the present application provides a management configuration method, as shown in FIG3 , which may include S110 - S140 .

[0073] S110. The BMC receives an event message sent by the network card.

[0074] The BMC is connected to the network card via the NC-SI protocol, so a specific implementation of S110 includes: the BMC receives the event message via the NC-SI protocol connection between the BMC and the network card.

[0075] The above event message is used to indicate that an executed event has occurred in the network card. That is, when an executed event occurs in the network card, the network card sends an event message (ie, an event notification message) to the BMC to inform the BMC of the executed event.

[0076] It should be noted that the above-mentioned executed event can be any event occurring in the network card, or it can be an event occurring in the network card that can cause the configuration parameters (parameter values of the configuration items) in the network configuration of the BMC configured in the network card to change (i.e., configuration items). (Abbreviated as: expected event); the embodiment of the present application takes the executed event as an expected event as an example for explanation, and will not be repeated later.

[0077] The expected events include at least one of: a network card restart event, a network card upgrade event, a network card reset event, a network card status change event, a network card driver abnormality event, a network card fault repair time, and a bandwidth abnormality event.

[0078] It should be understood that since the BMC and the network card are connected based on the NC-SI protocol, the above-mentioned event message is sent to the BMC based on the message of the NC-SI protocol. The BMC includes a message receiving module, which is used to receive messages sent to the BMC; for example, the BMC includes an asynchronous event notification (AEN) message receiving module, which is used to receive messages sent by the network card. In this application, the message received by the AEN message receiving module in the BMC can be referred to as an AEN event message.

[0079] S120. The BMC obtains configuration parameters of the configuration information in the network card based on the event message.

[0080] It should be understood that the network card is configured with the BMC's network configuration, which includes configuration information (ie, configuration items) and configuration parameters of the configuration information (ie, parameter values of the configuration items).

[0081] The configuration parameters of the configuration information in the above network card are all the configuration parameters of the configuration information in the network configuration of the BMC configured (or effective) in the network card; therefore, when the network card forwards messages from the network to the BMC, the forwarding is based on the network configuration of the BMC configured in the network card.

[0082] The above configuration information includes at least one of the following configuration items: BMC MAC address (abbreviated as: MAC address), BMC VLAN ID (abbreviated as: VLAN ID), broadcast filter status, transfer-in function status, transfer-out function status and setting function status.

[0083] The states of the above-mentioned broadcast filter include an on state and a off state. When the broadcast filter is in the on state, the filter filters multiple messages in the network card to be sent to the BMC (referred to as: BMC messages) so that the expected type of BMC messages are sent to the BMC and the unexpected type of BMC messages are filtered out; when the filter is in the off state, the network card sends all BMC messages to the BMC.

[0084] The state of the transfer function (also called the TX configuration state) includes an on state and an off state. When the transfer function is on, the network card forwards BMC messages from the outside (such as the network) to the BMC. When the transfer function is off, the network card does not forward BMC messages from the outside to the BMC. In other words, the state of the transfer function is the enable status of the sending interface B of the network card in Figure 1 above. When the sending interface B is enabled, the network card forwards BMC messages from the outside to the BMC. When the sending interface B is not enabled, the network card does not send BMC messages from the outside to the BMC.

[0085] The status of the roll-out function (also called the configuration status of RX) includes an on state and an off state. When the roll-out function is in the on state, the network card forwards the message to be sent by the BMC to the outside (such as the network) to the outside; when the roll-out function is in the off state, the network card does not forward the message to be sent by the BMC to the outside (such as the network) to the outside; that is, the status of the roll-out function is the enabling status of the receiving interface B of the network card in Figure 1 above. When the receiving interface B is enabled, the network card forwards the message to be sent by the BMC to the outside to the outside; when the receiving interface B is not enabled, the network card does not forward the message to be sent by the BMC to the outside.

[0086] The status of the setting function (also known as: NC-SI initialization status) includes an on state and an off state. When the setting function is on, the network card executes the setting command sent by the BMC; when the setting function is off, the network card does not execute the setting command sent by the BMC.

[0087] The specific implementation of the above S120 includes: the BMC responds to the above event message, sends a request or command to obtain the configuration parameters of the above configuration information to the network card through the NC-SI protocol connection with the network card (such as sending a Get Parameters command (0x17) command), and the network card responds to the acquisition request or acquisition command and sends the configuration parameters of all the configuration information in the network card to the BMC through the NC-SI protocol connection.

[0088] Optionally, the configuration parameters of the configuration information obtained in the network card may also be configuration parameters of part of the configuration information in the network configuration of the BMC configured in the network card. For specific implementation, please refer to the following embodiment 2 and embodiment 3, which will not be repeated here.

[0089] S130: The BMC determines whether the configuration parameters of the configuration information in the network card are the same as the preset configuration parameters in the BMC.

[0090] The preset configuration parameters in the BMC are configuration parameters of the configuration information in the network configuration of the BMC stored in the BMC.

[0091] It should be noted that the BMC's network configuration configured in the NIC is issued by the BMC to the NIC. In other words, the configuration parameters of the NIC's configuration information are issued by the BMC to the NIC. After the BMC issues the BMC's network configuration to the NIC, it stores the network configuration in the BMC. Therefore, if the configuration parameters of the NIC's configuration information remain unchanged, the configuration parameters in the NIC's configuration information are the same as the preset configuration parameters in the BMC.

[0092] In one implementation, the specific implementation of the above S130 includes: the BMC respectively calculates the hash value of the configuration parameters of the configuration information in the network card and the hash value of the preset configuration parameters in the BMC, and then compares whether the two hash values are the same. If the two hash values are the same, the BMC determines that the configuration parameters of the configuration information in the network card and the preset configuration parameters in the BMC are the same; if the two hash values are different, the BMC determines that the configuration parameters of the configuration information in the network card and the preset configuration parameters in the BMC are different.

[0093] In another implementation, the specific implementation of the above S130 includes: the BMC compares the configuration parameters of each configuration information in all the configuration information in the network card with the preset configuration parameters of each configuration information in the BMC; when the configuration parameters of any configuration information in the network card are the same as the preset configuration parameters of the configuration information in the BMC, it is determined that the configuration parameters of the configuration information in the network card and the preset configuration parameters in the BMC are the same; otherwise, it is determined that the configuration parameters of the configuration information in the network card and the preset configuration parameters in the BMC are not the same.

[0094] When the configuration parameters of the configuration information in the network card are the same as the preset configuration parameters in the BMC, an ending action is performed to end the current method.

[0095] When the configuration parameters of the configuration information in the network card are different from the preset configuration parameters in the BMC, the following S140 is executed.

[0096] S140 . The BMC sends an instruction message to the network card, where the instruction message is used to instruct the network card to update configuration parameters of the configuration information in the network card to preset configuration parameters in the BMC.

[0097] The above instruction message is used to instruct the network card to update the configuration parameters of the configuration information in the network card to the preset configuration parameters in the BMC.

[0098] In one implementation, the implementation of S140 includes: S1.

[0099] S1. The BMC controls the network card to update the configuration parameters of the configuration information in the network card to the preset configuration parameters in the BMC.

[0100] The specific implementation of the above S1 includes: the BMC is connected through the NC-SI protocol and sends an indication message including the preset configuration parameters in the BMC to the network card; the indication message is used to instruct the network card to update the configuration parameters of the configuration information in the network card to the preset configuration parameters in the BMC according to the preset configuration parameters in the BMC; that is, after the network card receives the indication message, the network card updates the configuration parameters of the configuration information in the network card according to the preset configuration parameters in the indication message, so that the configuration parameters of the configuration information in the network card after the update are the same as the preset configuration parameters in the BMC.

[0101] In the above embodiment, when the configuration parameters of the configuration information in the network card are different from the preset configuration parameters in the BMC, the preset configuration parameters in the BMC are directly sent to the network card, so that the network card updates the configuration parameters of the configuration information in the network card to the preset configuration parameters in the BMC according to the preset configuration parameters in the BMC, thereby improving the efficiency of updating the configuration parameters of the configuration information in the network card and further improving the efficiency of data recovery.

[0102] In another implementation, the specific implementation of the above S140, as shown in FIG4 , includes S141 - S142 .

[0103] S141. The BMC determines configuration information having different configuration parameters between the network card and the BMC as differential configuration information.

[0104] For example, assume that the configuration parameters of the configuration information in the network card include: MAC address is xxxbbxx, VLAN ID is 725; the preset configuration parameters in the BMC include: MAC address is xxxaaxx, VLAN ID is 725; then, at this time, the configuration parameters of the configuration information in the network card and the configuration parameters of the MAC address in the preset configuration parameters in the BMC are different, that is, the BMC determines the MAC address as differential configuration information.

[0105] S142: The BMC controls the network card to update the configuration parameters of the configuration information in the network card to the preset configuration parameters in the BMC according to the difference configuration parameters.

[0106] The above-mentioned difference configuration parameters are preset configuration parameters of the difference configuration information in the BMC. For example, based on the example in S141 above, the difference configuration information is a MAC address. In this case, the difference configuration parameters are xxxbbxx.

[0107] The specific implementation of the above-mentioned S142 includes: the BMC sends an indication message including an identifier of the differential configuration information and differential configuration parameters to the network card, where the indication message is used to instruct the network card to update the configuration parameters of the configuration information in the network card to the preset configuration parameters in the BMC according to the identifier of the differential configuration information and the differential configuration parameters; that is, after receiving the indication message, the network card updates the configuration parameters of the differential configuration information in the network card to the differential configuration parameters, thereby obtaining the configuration parameters of the configuration information in the updated network card.

[0108] Exemplarily, based on the example in S141 above, the differential configuration information is the MAC address, and the differential configuration parameters are xxxbbxx; the BMC sends an indication message including an identifier of the MAC address and the differential configuration parameters to the network card. After receiving the indication message, the network card updates the MAC address in the network card to xxxbbxx, so that the configuration parameters of the configuration information in the updated network card are the same as the preset configuration parameters in the BMC.

[0109] It should be noted that after the configuration parameters of the configuration information in the network card are updated to the preset configuration parameters in the BMC, the network card will persist the preset configuration parameters in the BMC so that the next time an expected event occurs on the network card, the preset configuration parameters in the persisted BMC will be set as the configuration parameters of the configuration information in the network card.

[0110] In the above embodiment, when the configuration parameters of the configuration information in the network card are different from the preset configuration parameters in the BMC, the configuration information with different configuration parameters between the network card and the BMC is determined as differential configuration information, and then the network card is controlled to update the configuration parameters of the configuration information in the network card according to the configuration parameters of the differential configuration information in the BMC (i.e., differential configuration parameters). Since this solution only sends the identifier of the differential configuration information and the differential configuration parameters to the network card, the transmission resources of the BMC are saved.

[0111] An embodiment of the present application provides a management configuration method.

[0112] In addition, in the above embodiment, the network card will actively send an event message to the BMC only when there is an executed event in the network card.

[0113] It should be noted that the above-mentioned event message may include an identifier of an executed event, or an identifier of abnormal configuration information, wherein the abnormal configuration information is configuration information in which the configuration parameters in the configuration information of the network card are reset after an expected event occurs in the network card. Specifically, in the case where the above-mentioned event message includes an identifier of an executed event, the embodiment of the present application provides two management configuration methods, specifically see the following embodiments 1 and 2; in the case where the above-mentioned event message includes an identifier of abnormal configuration information, the embodiment of the present application provides another management configuration method, specifically see the following embodiment 3.

[0114] Example 1

[0115] An embodiment of the present application provides a management configuration method, as shown in FIG5 , the method includes: S210 - S270 .

[0116] S210: The BMC receives an event message sent by the network card.

[0117] The above event message includes the identifier of the executed event, that is, the event message is used to indicate that the event represented by the identifier of the executed event has occurred in the current network card; that is, when the executed event occurs in the network card, the network card sends an event message including the identifier of the executed event to the BMC.

[0118] It should be noted that the description of the executed events is consistent with the description of the executed events in S110. For the specific description of the executed events in S210, reference may be made to the above description of S110, which will not be repeated here.

[0119] Exemplarily, when a network card restart event (ie, an executed event) occurs on the network card, the network card connects via the NC-SI protocol and sends an event message including an identifier of the network card restart event to the BMC.

[0120] S220 : The BMC obtains configuration parameters of the configuration information in the network card based on the event message.

[0121] It should be noted that the implementation method of the above S220 is consistent with the implementation method of S120. For the specific description of S220, please refer to the above description of S120, which will not be repeated here.

[0122] S230: The BMC determines target configuration information in the configuration information based on the identifier of the executed event and the corresponding relationship between the event identifier and the configuration information.

[0123] The identifier of the executed event is used to indicate the event that has occurred on the current network card.

[0124] The configuration information (eg, configuration information A) corresponding to an event (eg, event A) in the above correspondence is configuration information that may cause configuration parameters to change after the event A occurs on the network card.

[0125] It should be noted that the above correspondence relationship may be stored in the BMC, or may be obtained by the BMC from other devices or equipment. The embodiment of the present application does not limit the storage location of the correspondence relationship.

[0126] The above configuration information is all configuration information in the network configuration of the BMC, and the target configuration information is the configuration information corresponding to the identifier of the executed event.

[0127] For example, assuming the above correspondence is as shown in Table 1 below, the event identifier includes: the identifier of the bandwidth anomaly event and the identifier of the network card restart event; the configuration information includes: the status of the transfer function and the MAC address; wherein, the configuration information corresponding to the bandwidth anomaly event is the status of the transfer function; and the configuration information corresponding to the network card restart event is the MAC address. Furthermore, assuming that the executed event is the network card restart event, then the configuration information corresponding to the executed event is the MAC address, that is, the target configuration information is the MAC address.

[0128] Table 1

[0129] It should be noted that the BMC may execute S220 first and then S230; or may execute S230 first and then S220. Specifically, the embodiment of the present application does not limit the order in which the BMC executes S220 and S230.

[0130] S240: The BMC determines whether the configuration parameters of the target configuration information in the network card are the same as the corresponding configuration parameters in the preset configuration parameters.

[0131] The specific implementation of the above S240 includes: comparing the configuration parameters of the target configuration information in the network card and the preset configuration parameters of the target configuration information in the BMC to determine whether they are the same.

[0132] For example, assume that the configuration parameters of the network card configuration information include: MAC address xxxbbxx and VLAN ID 725; and the preset configuration parameters in the BMC include: MAC address xxxaaxx and VLAN ID 725. Furthermore, assume that the target configuration information is a MAC address; then, the MAC address in the network card is xxxbbxx, and the MAC address in the BMC is xxxaaxx. Therefore, it is determined that the configuration parameters of the target configuration information in the network card and the BMC are different.

[0133] When the configuration parameters of the target configuration information in the network card and the BMC are different, the BMC executes the following S250 .

[0134] When the configuration parameters of the target configuration information in the network card and the BMC are the same, the BMC executes the following S260 .

[0135] S250: The BMC sends an indication message including preset configuration parameters of target configuration information in the BMC to the network card.

[0136] The instruction message is used to instruct the network card to update the configuration parameters of the configuration information in the network card to the preset configuration parameters in the BMC based on the configuration parameters of the target configuration information in the BMC.

[0137] In the above embodiment, the BMC preferentially determines the configuration information (i.e., target configuration information) corresponding to the executed event reported by the network card from the correspondence between the event identifier and the configuration information; then, the BMC compares the configuration parameters of the target configuration information in the network card with the preset configuration parameters in the BMC to determine whether they are the same.

[0138] S260: The BMC determines the first other configuration information in the network card and the configuration information with different configuration parameters in the first other configuration information in the BMC as the first configuration information.

[0139] The first other configuration information is configuration information other than the target configuration information among all configuration information in the network configuration of the BMC.

[0140] Exemplarily, assuming that the target configuration information is a MAC address, the configuration parameters of the configuration information in the network card include: the MAC address is xxxbbxx, the VLAN ID is 725, the broadcast filter status is on, and the transfer function status is on. The preset configuration parameters in the BMC include: the MAC address is xxxbbxx, the VLAN ID is 725, the broadcast filter status is off, and the transfer function status is on. Then, at this time, the first other configuration information includes: the VLAN ID, the broadcast filter status, and the transfer function status; because the broadcast filter status configured in the network card is on, and the broadcast filter status in the BMC is off, the BMC determines the broadcast filter status as the first configuration information.

[0141] S270: The BMC sends an indication message including preset configuration parameters of the first configuration information in the BMC to the network card.

[0142] It should be noted that the implementation method of the above S270 is similar to that of S250. For the specific description of S270, please refer to the above description of S250, which will not be repeated here.

[0143] In the above embodiment, the BMC preferentially determines the configuration information corresponding to the executed event reported by the network card (i.e., the target configuration information) from the correspondence between the event identifier and the configuration information; then, the BMC compares the configuration parameters of the target configuration information in the network card and the preset configuration parameters in the BMC to see if they are the same. If the configuration parameters of the target configuration information in the network card and the BMC are different, an indication message including the preset configuration parameters of the target configuration information in the BMC is sent to the network card, so that the network card updates the configuration parameters of the configuration information in the network card to the preset configuration parameters in the BMC based on the indication message. If the configuration parameters of the target configuration information in the network card and the BMC are the same, an indication message including the preset configuration parameters of the first configuration information in the BMC is sent to the network card, so that the network card updates the configuration parameters of the configuration information in the network card to the preset configuration parameters in the BMC based on the indication message, thereby ensuring that the configuration parameters of the configuration information in the network card can be restored in a timely manner when they change, thereby improving the efficiency of data recovery.

[0144] Example 2

[0145] An embodiment of the present application provides a management configuration method, as shown in FIG6 , the method includes: S310 - S370 .

[0146] S310: The BMC receives an event message sent by the network card.

[0147] It should be noted that the implementation method of the above S310 is consistent with that of S210. For the specific description of S310, please refer to the above description of S210, which will not be repeated here.

[0148] S320: The BMC determines the configuration information corresponding to the identifier of the executed event from the correspondence between the event identifier and the configuration information.

[0149] It should be noted that the implementation method of the above S320 is similar to that of S230. For the specific description of S320, please refer to the above description of S230, which will not be repeated here.

[0150] S330: The BMC queries the network card and obtains configuration parameters of the configuration information corresponding to the identifier of the executed event.

[0151] The specific implementation of the above S330 includes: the BMC sends a request or command to obtain the configuration parameters of the configuration information corresponding to the identifier of the above-mentioned executed event to the network card through the NC-SI protocol connection between the BMC and the network card (such as: sending a Get Parameters command (0x17) command), and the network card responds to the acquisition request or acquisition command, and sends the configuration parameters of the configuration information corresponding to the identifier of the executed event configured in the network card to the BMC through the NC-SI protocol connection.

[0152] S340: The BMC determines whether the configuration parameters of the configuration information corresponding to the identifier of the executed event in the network card and the BMC are the same.

[0153] It should be noted that the implementation method of the above S340 is similar to that of S240. For the specific description of S340, please refer to the above description of S240, which will not be repeated here.

[0154] When the configuration parameters of the configuration information corresponding to the identifiers of the executed events in the network card and the BMC are different, the BMC executes the following S350 .

[0155] When the configuration parameters of the configuration information corresponding to the identifiers of the executed events in the network card and the BMC are the same, the BMC executes the following S360 .

[0156] S350: The BMC sends an indication message including configuration parameters of the configuration information corresponding to the identifier of the executed event in the BMC to the network card.

[0157] It should be noted that the implementation method of the above S350 is similar to that of S250. For the specific description of S350, please refer to the above description of S250, which will not be repeated here.

[0158] In the above embodiment, the BMC preferentially determines the configuration information corresponding to the executed event reported by the network card from the correspondence between the event identifier and the configuration information; then, the BMC queries the network card and obtains the configuration parameters of the configuration information corresponding to the executed event; finally, when the configuration parameters of the configuration information corresponding to the executed event in the network card and the BMC are different, an indication message including the configuration parameters of the configuration information corresponding to the executed event in the BMC is sent to the network card, so that the network card updates the configuration parameters of the configuration information in the network card to the preset configuration parameters in the BMC based on the indication message; since the BMC in this embodiment only queries the network card and obtains the configuration parameters of the configuration information corresponding to the executed event, it does not need to obtain the configuration parameters of all configuration information in the network card, thereby saving the transmission resources of the BMC.

[0159] S360: The BMC determines the second other configuration information in the network card and the configuration information with different configuration parameters in the second other configuration information in the BMC as the second configuration information.

[0160] The second other configuration information is configuration information other than the configuration information corresponding to the identifier of the executed event in all configuration information in the network configuration of the BMC.

[0161] It should be understood that the configuration parameters of the second other configuration information in the network card are obtained by the BMC querying the network card.

[0162] S370: The BMC sends an indication message including preset configuration parameters of the second configuration information in the BMC to the network card.

[0163] It should be noted that the implementation method of the above S350-S370 is similar to that of S250-S270. For the specific description of S350-S370, please refer to the above description of S250-S270, which will not be repeated here.

[0164] Example 3

[0165] An embodiment of the present application provides a management configuration method, as shown in FIG7 , the method includes: S410 - S460 .

[0166] S410: The BMC receives an event message sent by the network card.

[0167] The above-mentioned event message includes: an identifier of abnormal configuration information; the abnormal configuration information is configuration information in which the configuration parameters in the configuration information configured in the network card are reset after an executed event occurs on the network card; that is, the abnormal configuration information is configuration information in which the configuration parameters in the network card are reset due to an executed event occurring on the network card.

[0168] Exemplarily, during a network card restart event, the configuration parameters of the MAC address configured in the network card will be cleared. Then, after the network card restarts, the network card reads the configuration parameters of the locally stored MAC address and sets the configuration parameters to the MAC address in the network card.

[0169] Based on the above description, it can be seen that after an executed event occurs on the network card, the network card will obtain the configuration information (abnormal configuration information) in which the configuration parameters configured in the network card (i.e., effective) are reset, and send the identifier of the abnormal configuration information to the BMC through an event message.

[0170] It should be noted that the current configuration parameters of the above-mentioned abnormal configuration information may be the same as or different from the configuration parameters of the configuration information before the network card has an executed event; that is, the configuration parameters of the abnormal configuration information after being reset may be the same as or different from the configuration parameters before being reset.

[0171] For example, assume that the MAC address set and persisted in the network card is the first MAC address, and the first MAC address is xxxaaxx; then, when the BMC sends the second MAC address to the network card, and the second MAC address is xxxbbxx; the network card updates the configuration parameters of the locally configured MAC address from the first MAC address to the second MAC address, and also updates the configuration parameters of the persistent MAC address from the first MAC address to the second MAC address.

[0172] Based on the above example, assuming that the network card updates the locally set MAC address from the first MAC address to the second MAC address, and the network card has not yet updated the locally persistent MAC address from the first MAC address to the second MAC address; the network card has a network card restart event. At this time, the network card will set the locally persistent first MAC address as the configuration parameter of the MAC address in the network card; because the network card resets the configuration parameter of the MAC address after the network card restart event occurs (that is, the locally persistent MAC address is set to the MAC address in the network card), the abnormal configuration information at this time is the MAC address; the current configuration parameter of the MAC address is the first MAC address; and the configuration parameter of the abnormal configuration information before being reset (that is, the configuration parameter of the abnormal configuration information last time) is the second MAC address, that is, in this case, the configuration parameter of the abnormal configuration information after being reset is different from the configuration parameter before being reset.

[0173] Based on the above example, it is assumed that when the network card updates the locally set MAC address from the first MAC address to the second MAC address, and the network card updates the locally persistent MAC address from the first MAC address to the second MAC address, the network card restarts. At this time, the network card will set the locally persistent second MAC address as the configuration parameter of the MAC address in the network card. Since the configuration parameter of the MAC address has been reset, the MAC address is abnormal configuration information; the current configuration parameter of the abnormal configuration information is also the second MAC address. Therefore, in this case, the configuration parameters of the abnormal configuration information after reset are the same as the configuration parameters before reset.

[0174] S420: The BMC queries the network card and obtains configuration parameters of the abnormal configuration information.

[0175] It should be noted that the implementation method of the above S420 is similar to that of S330. For the specific description of S420, please refer to the above description of S330, which will not be repeated here.

[0176] S430: The BMC determines whether the configuration parameters of the abnormal configuration information in the network card and the BMC are the same.

[0177] It should be noted that the implementation method of the above S430 is similar to that of S240. For the specific description of S430, please refer to the above description of S240, which will not be repeated here.

[0178] When the configuration parameters of the abnormal configuration information in the network card and the BMC are different, the BMC executes the following S440 .

[0179] When the configuration parameters of the abnormal configuration information in the network card and the BMC are the same, the BMC executes the following S450 .

[0180] S440: The BMC sends an indication message including configuration parameters of abnormal configuration information in the BMC to the network card.

[0181] It should be noted that the implementation method of the above S440 is similar to that of S250. For the specific description of S440, please refer to the above description of S250, which will not be repeated here.

[0182] In the above embodiment, after an executed event occurs on the network card, the network card will send configuration information with reset configuration parameters (i.e., abnormal configuration information) to the BMC.

[0183] S450: The BMC determines the configuration information with different configuration parameters from the third other configuration information in the network card and the third other configuration information in the BMC as the third configuration information.

[0184] The third other configuration information is configuration information other than abnormal configuration information among all configuration information in the network configuration of the BMC.

[0185] It should be understood that the configuration parameters of the third other configuration information in the network card are obtained by the BMC querying the network card.

[0186] S460: The BMC sends an indication message including preset configuration parameters of the third configuration information in the BMC to the network card.

[0187] It should be noted that the implementation method of the above S450-S460 is similar to that of S260-S270. For the specific description of S450-S460, please refer to the above description of S260-S270, which will not be repeated here.
