Abstract
Description
Terminal and communication method
[0001] The present invention relates to a terminal and a communication method in a wireless communication system.
[0002] The 3GPP (registered trademark) (3rd Generation Partnership Project) is currently studying a wireless communication method called 5G or NR (New Radio) (hereinafter, this wireless communication method will be referred to as "NR") in order to achieve a larger system capacity, a higher data transmission speed, and a lower latency in wireless sections. In 5G, various wireless technologies and network architectures are being studied to meet the requirements of achieving a throughput of 10 Gbps or more while reducing the latency in wireless sections to 1 ms or less (for example, Non-Patent Document 1 and Non-Patent Document 2).
[0003] Furthermore, various requirements are being considered for the next generation, 6G, such as ultra broadband communication, mission critical communication, ultra massive connection, universal coverage, intelligent connection, and ubiquitous sensing.
[0004] To achieve this requirement, the new concept aims to be extensible (e.g., to make it more future-proof), customizable (e.g., to make it easier to operate), and sustainable (e.g., to reduce costs and have a more robust structure).
[0005] 3GPP TS 38.300 V17.5.0 (2023-06)3GPP TS 38.401 V17.5.0 (2023-06)3GPP TS 38.306 V17.5.0 (2023-06)
[0006] In 5G, FR1 and FR2 are defined as frequency bands (FR). In the next generation, 6G, it is expected that even more frequency bands will be used. Here, when new frequency bands are defined, it is necessary to specify how to configure cell groups or PUCCH groups.
[0007] The present invention has been made in view of the above points, and has as its object to define a group configuration suitable for a frequency band in a wireless communication system.
[0008] According to the disclosed technology, there is provided a terminal including: a control unit that sets a cell group or a PUCCH (Physical Uplink Control Channel) group based on specific constraints in a plurality of frequency ranges; and a communication unit that performs communication by applying the set cell group or the PUCCH group, wherein the plurality of frequency ranges include at least a first frequency range, a second frequency range having a higher frequency than the first frequency range, and a third frequency range having a higher frequency than the first frequency range and lower than the second frequency range.
[0009] According to the disclosed technology, it is possible to define a group configuration suitable for a frequency band in a wireless communication system.

[0011] Hereinafter, an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. Note that the embodiment described below is an example, and the embodiment to which the present invention is applied is not limited to the following embodiment.
[0012] In the operation of the wireless communication system according to the embodiment of the present invention, existing technology is used as appropriate. However, the existing technology is, for example, the existing LTE, but is not limited to the existing LTE. Furthermore, the term "LTE" used in this specification has a broad meaning including LTE-Advanced and systems subsequent to LTE-Advanced (e.g., NR), unless otherwise specified.
[0013] In addition, in the embodiments of the present invention described below, terms such as SS (Synchronization signal), PSS (Primary SS), SSS (Secondary SS), PBCH (Physical broadcast channel), PRACH (Physical random access channel), PDCCH (Physical Downlink Control Channel), PDSCH (Physical Downlink Shared Channel), PUCCH (Physical Uplink Control Channel), and PUSCH (Physical Uplink Shared Channel) used in existing LTE are used. This is for convenience of description, and similar signals, functions, etc. may be called by other names. In addition, the above-mentioned terms in NR correspond to NR-SS, NR-PSS, NR-SSS, NR-PBCH, NR-PRACH, etc. However, even if a signal is used in NR, it is not necessarily stated as "NR-".
[0014] Furthermore, in the embodiment of the present invention, the duplex method may be a time division duplex (TDD) method, a frequency division duplex (FDD) method, or another method (for example, flexible duplex, etc.).
[0015] Furthermore, in the embodiments of the present invention, "configuring" radio parameters etc. may mean that predetermined values are pre-configured, or that radio parameters notified from the base station 10 or the terminal 20 are set.
[0016] Fig. 1 is a diagram showing an example of the configuration of a wireless communication system according to an embodiment of the present invention. As shown in Fig. 1, the wireless communication system according to the embodiment of the present invention includes a base station 10 and a terminal 20. Although Fig. 1 shows one base station 10 and one terminal 20, this is an example, and there may be a plurality of each.
[0017] The base station 10 is a communication device that provides one or more cells and performs wireless communication with the terminal 20. The physical resources of a wireless signal are defined in the time domain and the frequency domain. The time domain may be defined by the number of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) symbols, and the frequency domain may be defined by the number of subcarriers or the number of resource blocks. The base station 10 transmits a synchronization signal and system information to the terminal 20. The synchronization signal is, for example, NR-PSS and NR-SSS. The system information is, for example, transmitted via NR-PBCH and is also referred to as broadcast information. The synchronization signal and system information may also be referred to as SSB (SS / PBCH block). As shown in FIG. 1 , the base station 10 transmits control signals or data to the terminal 20 via DL (Downlink) and receives control signals or data from the terminal 20 via UL (Uplink). Both the base station 10 and the terminal 20 are capable of transmitting and receiving signals by performing beamforming. Furthermore, both the base station 10 and the terminal 20 can apply MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) communication to DL or UL. Furthermore, both the base station 10 and the terminal 20 may communicate via a secondary cell (SCell: Secondary Cell) and a primary cell (PCell: Primary Cell) using CA (Carrier Aggregation). Furthermore, the terminal 20 may communicate via a primary cell of the base station 10 and a primary secondary cell group cell (PSCell: Primary SCG Cell) of another base station 10 using DC (Dual Connectivity).
[0018] The terminal 20 is a communication device equipped with a wireless communication function, such as a smartphone, a mobile phone, a tablet, a wearable terminal, or an M2M (Machine-to-Machine) communication module. As shown in Fig. 1, the terminal 20 receives control signals or data from the base station 10 via DL and transmits control signals or data to the base station 10 via UL, thereby utilizing various communication services provided by the wireless communication system. The terminal 20 also receives various reference signals transmitted from the base station 10 and measures propagation path quality based on the reception results of the reference signals.
[0019] Furthermore, various requirements are being considered for the next generation, 6G, such as ultra broadband communication, mission critical communication, ultra massive connection, universal coverage, intelligent connection, and ubiquitous sensing.
[0020] To achieve this requirement, the new concept aims to be extensible (e.g., to make it more future-proof), customizable (e.g., to make it easier to operate), and sustainable (e.g., to reduce costs and have a more robust structure).
[0021] 2 is a diagram illustrating an example (1) of frequency bands according to an embodiment of the present invention. 5G defines usable frequency ranges (FR) as FR1, which ranges from 410 MHz to 7.125 GHz, and FR2, which ranges from 2.425 GHz to 71 GHz. The term "frequency band" may be interchanged with the term "frequency range."
[0022] Furthermore, as shown in Figure 2, 6G is expected to use the frequency band between FR1 and FR2, i.e., FR3, which ranges from 7.125 GHz to 24 GHz. By using a wider bandwidth than FR1, FR3 is expected to achieve even higher speeds and larger capacities. In addition, since the radio wave characteristics are closer to FR1 than FR2, improved communication stability and coverage are expected.
[0023] In addition, NR allows capability reporting based on FR for cell groups and PUCCH groups.
[0024] A cell group includes one MAC entity, includes a set of logical channels associated with an RLC entity, and is composed of a primary cell (SpCell) and one or more secondary cells (SCells). For example, in LTE-NR dual connectivity, the master cell group is composed of LTE cells, and the secondary cell group is composed of NR cells.
[0025] A PUCCH group is a group that includes a cell (SpCell or PUCCH-SCell) that can transmit PUCCH and one or more cells that are associated with that cell to transmit HARQ-ACK.
[0026] It is not easy to include an FR1 cell and an FR2 cell in the same cell group or PUCCH group due to factors such as baseband processing and differences in RF devices.
[0027] For example, the following UE capability parameters 1) to 3) are defined as capability reports related to cell groups (see Non-Patent Document 3).
[0028] 1) ca-ParametersNR (NG) Includes parameters for EN-DC / NE-DC and / or NR-CA band combinations.
[0029] 2) ca-ParametersNRDC Indicates whether NR-DC is supported for the band combination. Contains parameters for NR band combinations applicable to the MCG (Master Cell Group) and SCG (Secondary Cell Group). If the band combination includes both FR1 and FR2 bands, a UE that indicates support for NR-DC must support synchronous NR-DC configuration when all serving cells of the MCG are FR1 and all serving cells of the SCG are FR2.
[0030] 3) supportedCellGrouping-r16: Indicates which NR-DC cell groupings the UE supports for the NR-DC band combination. That is, it indicates the mapping of serving cells to MCG and SCG and the operation mode (synchronous or asynchronous) requested by the network via requestedCellGrouping-r16. Regardless of the indicated supportedCellGrouping-r16, the UE must support NR-DC for all FR1 serving cells included in the MCG and all FR2 serving cells included in the SCG indicated by ca-ParametersNRDC.
[0031] For example, the following UE capability parameters 1) to 3) are defined as capability reports related to PUCCH groups (see Non-Patent Document 3).
[0032] 1) twoPUCCH-Grp-ConfigurationsList-r16 Indicates whether one or more of the primary PUCCH group configuration and secondary PUCCH group configuration sets are supported for the band combination. It may include supported configurations of carrier types that can be mapped to any PUCCH group for the primary PUCCH group and secondary PUCCH group for an NR-CA band combination that includes three or more bands. It may also include carrier types that can be configured for PUCCH transmission for the primary PUCCH group and secondary PUCCH group for an NR-CA band combination that includes three or more bands. The carrier types may be FR1-NonShared TDD, FR1-Shared TDD, FR1-NonShared FDD, or FR2.
[0033] 2) maxUpTo3Diff-NumerologiesConfigSinglePUCCH-grp-r16 (NG) Indicates support for up to three different numerologies in the same PUCCH group by notifying one or more NR carrier types that can transmit PUCCH for the NR part of EN-DC, NE-DC, and NR-CA. Two NR PUCCH groups are not configured. The NR carrier type may be one of {FR1 licensed TDD (fr1-NonSharedTDD-r16), FR1 unlicensed TDD (fr1-SharedTDD-r16), FR1 licensed FDD (fr1-NonSharedFDD-r16), FR2 (fr2-r16)}.
[0034] 3) maxUpTo3Diff-NumerologiesConfigSinglePUCCH-grp-r16 (NG) Indicates support for up to four different numerologies in the same PUCCH group by notifying one or more NR carrier types that can transmit PUCCH for the NR part of EN-DC, NE-DC, and NR-CA. Two NR PUCCH groups are not configured. The NR carrier type may be one of {FR1 licensed TDD (fr1-NonSharedTDD-r16), FR1 unlicensed TDD (fr1-SharedTDD-r16), FR1 licensed FDD (fr1-NonSharedFDD-r16), FR2 (fr2-r16)}.
[0035] Here, if FR3 is defined in 6G-RAT in addition to FR1 / FR2, it is necessary to determine the provisions related to cell groups and / or PUCCH groups and the mechanism for capability reporting.
[0036] Therefore, the following specific operations related to cell groups and / or PUCCH groups when using frequency bands included in FR1 and / or FR2 and frequency bands included in FR3 may be performed.
[0037] Operation 1) UE operation corresponding to restrictions related to a cell group and / or a PUCCH group in the specifications. Operation 2) UE operation corresponding to a UE capability report related to a cell group and / or a PUCCH group and settings from the base station 10 based on the report. Operation 3) Common signaling related to a cell group and / or a PUCCH group and UE operation corresponding to the signaling.
[0038] In the following description, the term "group" may be replaced with "cell group and / or PUCCH group."
[0039] The above specific operations are not limited to cell groups and / or PUCCH groups, but may also be applied to groups defined to collectively perform some operations on frequency-direction elements (e.g., cells, carriers).
[0040] The operations 1), 2) and 3) may be applied in combination.
[0041] Note that using frequency bands simultaneously may mean CA or DC, but is not limited to these.
[0042] Note that "determining" may also mean that the network configures the corresponding parameters in the UE, and the UE follows the configuration.
[0043] In addition, FR3 cells may be distinguished by TDD or FDD.
[0044] Hereinafter, operation 1) UE operation corresponding to restrictions on cell groups and / or PUCCH groups in the specifications will be described in detail.
[0045] 3 is a flowchart illustrating an example of group setting according to an embodiment of the present invention. In step S11, it is assumed that the terminal 20 is set to a group related to FR1, FR2, and / or FR3 under certain constraints. In step S12, the terminal 20 performs communication by applying the set group.
[0046] The groups related to FR1, FR2, and / or FR3 may be set by at least one of the following methods A) to F). Note that Method A) to F) may be replaced with Constraint A) to Constraint F).
[0047] Method A) Groups are set so that a group containing FR3 can contain only either FR1 or FR2. For example, group 1 may contain FR1 and FR3, and group 2 may contain FR2. Alternatively, group 1 may contain FR1, and group 2 may contain FR2 and FR3.
[0048] Method B) FIG. 4 is a diagram illustrating an example (2) of frequency bands according to an embodiment of the present invention. As shown in FIG. 4, FR3 is divided into FR3-a and FR3-b, and groups are set so that FR3-a and FR1 can be included in the same group, and FR3-b and FR2 can be included in the same group. For example, group 1 may include FR1 and FR3-a, and group 2 may include FR2 and FR3-b. A group of FR3-a and FR2, and a group of FR3-b and FR1 are not assumed. The division position of FR3-a and FR3-b may be defined in the specifications, may be set in the SIB, RRC parameters, and / or MAC, etc., may be determined based on UE capabilities, may be determined based on whether the maximum transmit power is determined for each frequency band collectively or independently, or may be determined based on whether the numerology that can be set is the same or not.
[0049] Method C) Groups are set so that frequencies or frequency bands for which the same numerology is set or can be set can be included in the same group. Frequency bands for which the same numerology is set or can be set may not be included in different groups. Frequency bands for which different numerologies are set or can be set may not be included in the same group. Frequency bands for which different numerologies are set or can be set may be included in different groups.
[0050] Method D) Groups are set such that frequencies or frequency bands for which maximum transmission power is determined collectively can be included in the same group. Frequencies or frequency bands for which maximum transmission power is determined collectively may not be included in different groups. Frequencies or frequency bands for which maximum transmission power is not determined collectively may not be included in the same group. Frequencies or frequency bands for which maximum transmission power is not determined collectively may be included in different groups.
[0051] Method E) Applying different restrictions based on simultaneously used frequency bands. When the simultaneously used frequency bands are FR1 and FR3, any of the following may be used: Group 1 includes FR1 and FR3-a and Group 2 includes FR3-b; Group 1 includes FR1 and Group 2 includes FR3; or Groups 1 and FR3 may be used. When the simultaneously used frequency bands are FR2 and FR3, any of the following may be used: Group 1 includes FR3-a and Group 2 includes FR3-b and FR2; Group 1 includes FR3 and Group 2 includes FR2; or Groups 1 and FR3 may be used. When the simultaneously used frequency bands are FR1, FR2, and FR3, any of the following may be used: Group 1 includes FR1 and FR3 and Group 2 includes FR2; Group 1 includes FR1 and Group 2 includes FR3 and FR2; or Group 1 includes FR1 and FR3-a and Group 2 includes FR3-b and FR2.
[0052] Method F) Assume that any configuration can be set for the groups FR1, FR2, and / or FR3. For example, a group may include FR1, FR2, and FR3, or group 1 may include FR1, group 2 may include FR3, and group 3 may include FR2.
[0053] When using frequency bands included in FR1 and / or FR2 and frequency bands included in FR3, the number of groups may be a maximum of two, or may be a maximum of three or more.
[0054] By limiting the specifications to groupings that are actually used through the above-mentioned operation 1), it is possible to simplify the specifications and the configuration of the device.
[0055] Hereinafter, operation 2) UE capability reporting related to a cell group and / or a PUCCH group and UE operations corresponding to settings from the base station 10 based on the report will be described in detail.
[0056] 5 is a sequence diagram illustrating an example of a UE capability report according to an embodiment of the present invention. In step S21, the terminal 20 transmits a UE capability report related to a group to the base station 10. In step S22, the base station 10 transmits a setting related to the group and / or a setting related to multiple frequency usage to the terminal 20 based on the UE capability report. The terminal 20 may perform communication using the setting.
[0057] UE capabilities may differ based on the frequency bands they simultaneously use.
[0058] The terminal 20 may report to the base station 10 which groups it supports as a UE capability report, as shown in one or more of 1) to 4) below.
[0059] 1) The terminal 20 may report to the base station 10 whether or not it supports some or all of the grouping conditions of the above methods A), B), C), D), E), and F).
[0060] 2) The terminal 20 may report to the base station 10 whether or not it supports any of the group of methods A), B), C), D), E), and F).
[0061] 3) The terminal 20 may report to the base station 10 whether or not it supports groups that exceed the constraints of some or all of the above methods A), B), C), D), E), and F).
[0062] 4) The terminal 20 may report to the base station 10 which configurations it supports for the groups related to FR1, FR2 and / or FR3.
[0063] Regarding the UE capability reports of 1), 2), 3), and / or 4), the terminal 20 may report to the base station 10 for each band combination, or may report to the base station 10 for each UE. Furthermore, the terminal 20 may transmit to the base station 10 the UE capability reports of 1), 2), 3), and / or 4) for only the band combinations notified by the base station 10.
[0064] The base station 10 may perform group-related configuration and / or multi-frequency usage configuration based on the UE capability report.
[0065] The above-mentioned operation 2) enables optimal UE implementation according to the UE type.
[0066] Below, operation 3) common signaling related to cell groups and / or PUCCH groups and UE operations corresponding to this signaling will be described in detail.
[0067] The base station 10 may inform the terminal 20 via common signaling (for example, SIB) which group is applicable.
[0068] 6 is a sequence diagram illustrating an example of an operation related to group setting in an embodiment of the present invention. In step S31, the base station 10 transmits information indicating which group is applicable to the terminal 20. In step S32, the terminal 20 executes a predetermined operation based on the information. The information indicating which group is applicable may be one or more of 1) to 3) shown below.
[0069] 1) The base station 10 may notify the terminal 20 whether or not some or all of the grouping conditions of the above methods A), B), C), D), E), and F) are applicable.
[0070] 2) The base station 10 may notify the terminal 20 whether any of a part or all of the group of the above methods A), B), C), D), E), and F) is applicable.
[0071] 3) The base station 10 may notify the terminal 20 whether or not a group exceeding some or all of the constraints of the above methods A), B), C), D), E), and F) is applicable.
[0072] 4) The base station 10 may notify the terminal 20 which configuration is applicable to the groups related to FR1, FR2 and / or FR3.
[0073] The terminal 20 that has received the notification 1), 2), 3), and / or 4) above may execute the predetermined operations described below in a) to c).
[0074] a) Execute the UE capability report of the above operation 2) corresponding to the notification, b) If the band combination and UE capability of the own device are applicable to the notified applicable group, connect to (attempt to connect to) a cell included in the notified applicable group, c) If the band combination and UE capability of the own device are not applicable to the notified applicable group, it may determine that the cell included in the notified applicable group is a barred cell, or may search for other cells.
[0075] As noted above, connection and other communication actions may be determined based on the agreement between the UE and the BS on support for the group.
[0076] The above operation 3) allows connection and other communication operations to be determined based on the matching status between the UE and the BS of the support for the group.
[0077] According to the above-described embodiment, the terminal 20 can determine an appropriate group configuration in an operating environment where FR3 is introduced and apply it to communications using FR3. Furthermore, by limiting the specifications to groupings that are actually used, specifications and device configurations can be simplified. Furthermore, optimal UE implementation according to UE type is possible. Furthermore, connection and other communication operations may be determined based on the matching status of group support between the UE and the BS.
[0078] That is, in a wireless communication system, it is possible to define a group configuration suitable for a frequency band.
[0079] (Device Configuration) Next, a functional configuration example of the base station 10 and the terminal 20 that execute the processes and operations described above will be described. The base station 10 and the terminal 20 include functions for implementing the above-described embodiments. However, the base station 10 and the terminal 20 may each include only a part of the functions of the embodiments.

These functional blocks (components) are realized by any combination of at least one of hardware and software. Furthermore, the method for realizing each functional block is not particularly limited. That is, each functional block may be realized using a single device that is physically or logically coupled, or may be realized using two or more physically or logically separated devices that are directly or indirectly connected (for example, using wires, wirelessly, etc.) and these multiple devices. The functional block may also be realized by combining software with the single device or the multiple devices.

[0118] With the above configuration, the terminal 20 can determine an appropriate group configuration in an operating environment where FR3 is introduced and apply it to communications using FR3. Furthermore, by limiting the specifications to groupings that are actually used, the specifications and device configuration can be simplified. In other words, it is possible to specify a group configuration that is appropriate for the frequency band in a wireless communication system.

Although the above example illustrates a case where there is one other network node other than the base station 10, the other network node may be a combination of multiple other network nodes (such as an MME and an S-GW).
[0124] The information, signals, etc. described in the present disclosure may be output from a higher layer (or a lower layer) to a lower layer (or a higher layer), or may be input / output via multiple network nodes.
[0125] Input and output information may be stored in a specific location (for example, memory) or may be managed using a management table. Input and output information may be overwritten, updated, or added to. Output information may be deleted. Input information may be transmitted to another device.
[0126] In the present disclosure, the determination may be made by a value represented by one bit (0 or 1), by a Boolean value (true or false), or by a comparison of numerical values (e.g., comparison with a predetermined value).
[0127] Software shall be construed broadly to mean instructions, instruction sets, code, code segments, program code, programs, subprograms, software modules, applications, software applications, software packages, routines, subroutines, objects, executable files, threads of execution, procedures, functions, etc., whether referred to as software, firmware, middleware, microcode, hardware description language, or otherwise.
[0128] Software, instructions, information, etc. may also be transmitted or received over a transmission medium. For example, if software is transmitted from a website, server, or other remote source using wired technologies (such as coaxial cable, fiber optic cable, twisted pair, Digital Subscriber Line (DSL)), and / or wireless technologies (such as infrared, microwave), then these wired and / or wireless technologies are included within the definition of transmission media.
[0129] The information, signals, etc. described in this disclosure may be represented using any of a variety of different technologies. For example, data, instructions, commands, information, signals, bits, symbols, chips, etc. that may be referred to throughout the above description may be represented by voltages, currents, electromagnetic waves, magnetic fields or magnetic particles, optical fields or photons, or any combination thereof.
[0130] Note that terms described in this disclosure and terms necessary for understanding this disclosure may be replaced with terms having the same or similar meanings. For example, at least one of a channel and a symbol may be a signal (signaling). Furthermore, a signal may be a message. Furthermore, a component carrier (CC) may be called a carrier frequency, a cell, a frequency carrier, etc.
[0131] As used in this disclosure, the terms "system" and "network" are used interchangeably.
[0132] Furthermore, the information, parameters, etc. described in the present disclosure may be expressed using absolute values, may be expressed using relative values from a predetermined value, or may be expressed using other corresponding information. For example, a radio resource may be indicated by an index.
[0133] The names used for the above-described parameters are not intended to be limiting in any way. Furthermore, the mathematical expressions using these parameters may differ from those explicitly disclosed in this disclosure. The various channels (e.g., PUCCH, PDCCH, etc.) and information elements may be identified by any suitable names, and therefore the various names assigned to these various channels and information elements are not intended to be limiting in any way.
[0134] In the present disclosure, terms such as "base station (BS)," "radio base station," "base station device," "fixed station," "NodeB," "eNodeB (eNB)," "gNodeB (gNB)," "access point," "transmission point," "reception point," "transmission / reception point," "cell," "sector," "cell group," "carrier," and "component carrier" may be used interchangeably. A base station may also be referred to by terms such as a macrocell, a small cell, a femtocell, and a picocell.
[0135] A base station can accommodate one or more (e.g., three) cells. When a base station accommodates multiple cells, the overall coverage area of the base station can be partitioned into multiple smaller areas, and each smaller area can also be provided with communication services by a base station subsystem (e.g., a small indoor base station (RRH: Remote Radio Head)). The terms "cell" or "sector" refer to part or all of the coverage area of a base station and / or base station subsystem that provides communication services within that coverage.
[0136] In the present disclosure, the base station transmitting information to a terminal may be interpreted as the base station instructing the terminal to control or operate based on the information.
[0137] In this disclosure, the terms "Mobile Station (MS)," "user terminal," "User Equipment (UE)," "terminal," and the like may be used interchangeably.
[0138] A mobile station may also be referred to by those skilled in the art as a subscriber station, mobile unit, subscriber unit, wireless unit, remote unit, mobile device, wireless device, wireless communication device, remote device, mobile subscriber station, access terminal, mobile terminal, wireless terminal, remote terminal, handset, user agent, mobile client, client, or some other suitable terminology.
[0139] At least one of the base station and the mobile station may be referred to as a transmitting device, a receiving device, a communication device, etc. At least one of the base station and the mobile station may be a device mounted on a mobile object, the mobile object itself, etc. The mobile object refers to a movable object, and may move at any speed. Naturally, this also includes cases where the mobile object is stationary. Examples of the mobile object include, but are not limited to, vehicles, transport vehicles, automobiles, motorcycles, bicycles, connected cars, excavators, bulldozers, wheel loaders, dump trucks, forklifts, trains, buses, handcars, rickshaws, ships and other watercraft, airplanes, rockets, satellites, drones (registered trademark), multicopters, quadcopters, balloons, and objects mounted thereon. The mobile object may also be a mobile object that moves autonomously based on an operational command. It may be a vehicle (e.g., a car, an airplane, etc.), an unmanned mobile object (e.g., a drone, an autonomous vehicle, etc.), or a robot (manned or unmanned). At least one of the base station and the mobile station may be a device that does not necessarily move during communication operations. For example, at least one of the base station and the mobile station may be an IoT (Internet of Things) device such as a sensor.
[0140] Furthermore, a base station in the present disclosure may be read as a user terminal. For example, the aspects / embodiments of the present disclosure may be applied to a configuration in which communication between a base station and a user terminal is replaced with communication between multiple terminals 20 (which may be called, for example, Device-to-Device (D2D) or Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X)). In this case, the terminal 20 may be configured to have the functions of the base station 10 described above. Furthermore, terms such as "uplink" and "downlink" may be read as terms corresponding to terminal-to-terminal communication (for example, "side"). For example, terms such as an uplink channel and a downlink channel may be read as a side channel.
[0141] Similarly, the user terminal in the present disclosure may be read as a base station, in which case the base station may be configured to have the functions of the user terminal described above.
[0142] As used in this disclosure, the terms "determining" and "determining" may encompass a wide variety of actions. "Determining" and "determining" may include, for example, judging, calculating, computing, processing, deriving, investigating, looking up, searching, inquiring (e.g., searching in a table, database, or other data structure), ascertaining, and the like. "Determining" and "determining" may also include receiving (e.g., receiving information), transmitting (e.g., sending information), input, output, accessing (e.g., accessing data in memory), and the like. Furthermore, "judgment" and "decision" can include regarding resolving, selecting, choosing, establishing, comparing, etc. as having been "judged" or "decided." In other words, "judgment" and "decision" can include regarding some action as having been "judged" or "decided." Furthermore, "judgment (decision)" can be interpreted as "assuming," "expecting," "considering," etc.
[0143] The terms "connected," "coupled," or any variation thereof, refer to any direct or indirect connection or coupling between two or more elements, and may include the presence of one or more intermediate elements between two elements that are "connected" or "coupled" to each other. The coupling or connection between elements may be physical, logical, or a combination thereof. For example, "connected" may be read as "access." As used in this disclosure, two elements may be considered to be "connected" or "coupled" to each other using one or more wires, cables, and / or printed electrical connections, as well as electromagnetic energy having wavelengths in the radio frequency range, microwave range, and optical (both visible and invisible) range, as some non-limiting and non-exhaustive examples.
[0144] The reference signal may be abbreviated as RS (Reference Signal) or may be called a pilot depending on the applicable standard.
[0145] As used in this disclosure, the phrase "based on" does not mean "based only on," unless expressly stated otherwise. In other words, the phrase "based on" means both "based only on" and "based at least on."
[0146] As used in this disclosure, any reference to an element using a designation such as "first," "second," etc. does not generally limit the quantity or order of those elements. These designations may be used in this disclosure as a convenient method of distinguishing between two or more elements. Thus, a reference to a first and a second element does not imply that only two elements may be employed or that the first element must in some way precede the second element.
[0147] The "means" in the configuration of each of the above devices may be replaced with "part," "circuit," "device," etc.
[0148] When the terms "include," "including," and variations thereof are used in this disclosure, these terms are intended to be inclusive, similar to the term "comprising." Furthermore, when the term "or" is used in this disclosure, it is not intended to be an exclusive or.
[0149] A radio frame may be composed of one or more frames in the time domain. Each of the one or more frames in the time domain may be called a subframe. A subframe may further be composed of one or more slots in the time domain. A subframe may have a fixed time length (e.g., 1 ms) that is independent of numerology.
[0150] Numerology may be communication parameters applied to the transmission and / or reception of a signal or channel, such as subcarrier spacing (SCS), bandwidth, symbol length, cyclic prefix length, transmission time interval (TTI), number of symbols per TTI, radio frame structure, specific filtering operations performed by the transceiver in the frequency domain, specific windowing operations performed by the transceiver in the time domain, etc.
[0151] A slot may be composed of one or more symbols (such as an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) symbol or a Single Carrier Frequency Division Multiple Access (SC-FDMA) symbol) in the time domain. A slot may be a time unit based on numerology.
[0152] A slot may include multiple minislots. Each minislot may consist of one or multiple symbols in the time domain. A minislot may also be called a subslot. A minislot may consist of fewer symbols than a slot. A PDSCH (or PUSCH) transmitted in a time unit larger than a minislot may be called PDSCH (or PUSCH) mapping type A. A PDSCH (or PUSCH) transmitted using a minislot may be called PDSCH (or PUSCH) mapping type B.
[0153] The radio frame, subframe, slot, minislot, and symbol all represent time units for transmitting signals, and may be referred to by other names corresponding to the radio frame, subframe, slot, minislot, and symbol.
[0154] For example, one subframe may be called a transmission time interval (TTI), multiple consecutive subframes may be called a TTI, or one slot or one minislot may be called a TTI. That is, at least one of the subframe and the TTI may be a subframe (1 ms) in existing LTE, a period shorter than 1 ms (for example, 1-13 symbols), or a period longer than 1 ms. Note that the unit representing the TTI may be called a slot, minislot, etc. instead of a subframe.
[0155] Here, TTI refers to, for example, the smallest time unit for scheduling in wireless communication. For example, in an LTE system, a base station performs scheduling to allocate wireless resources (such as frequency bandwidth and transmission power that can be used by each terminal 20) to each terminal 20 in TTI units. Note that the definition of TTI is not limited to this.
[0156] The TTI may be a transmission time unit for a channel-encoded data packet (transport block), a code block, a code word, etc., or may be a processing unit for scheduling, link adaptation, etc. When a TTI is given, the time interval (e.g., the number of symbols) to which a transport block, a code block, a code word, etc. is actually mapped may be shorter than the TTI.
[0157] When one slot or one minislot is called a TTI, one or more TTIs (i.e., one or more slots or one or more minislots) may be the minimum time unit for scheduling. Also, the number of slots (minislots) constituting the minimum time unit for scheduling may be controlled.
[0158] A TTI having a time length of 1 ms may be called a regular TTI (TTI in LTE Rel. 8-12), normal TTI, long TTI, regular subframe, normal subframe, long subframe, slot, etc. A TTI shorter than a regular TTI may be called a shortened TTI, short TTI, partial or fractional TTI, shortened subframe, short subframe, minislot, subslot, slot, etc.
[0159] In addition, a long TTI (e.g., a normal TTI, a subframe, etc.) may be interpreted as a TTI having a time length of more than 1 ms, and a short TTI (e.g., a shortened TTI, etc.) may be interpreted as a TTI having a TTI length shorter than the TTI length of a long TTI and greater than or equal to 1 ms.
[0160] A resource block (RB) is a resource allocation unit in the time domain and the frequency domain, and may include one or more consecutive subcarriers in the frequency domain. The number of subcarriers included in an RB may be the same regardless of numerology, for example, 12. The number of subcarriers included in an RB may be determined based on numerology.
[0161] The time domain of an RB may include one or more symbols and may have a length of one slot, one minislot, one subframe, or one TTI. One TTI, one subframe, etc. may each be composed of one or more resource blocks.
[0162] Note that one or more RBs may also be called a physical resource block (PRB), a sub-carrier group (SCG), a resource element group (REG), a PRB pair, an RB pair, etc.
[0163] Furthermore, a resource block may be composed of one or more resource elements (REs). For example, one RE may be a radio resource region of one subcarrier and one symbol.
[0164] A Bandwidth Part (BWP) (which may also be referred to as a partial bandwidth) may represent a subset of contiguous common resource blocks (RBs) for a given numerology on a given carrier, where the common RBs may be identified by their index relative to a Common Reference Point of the carrier. PRBs may be defined in a BWP and numbered within the BWP.
[0165] The BWP may include a BWP for UL (UL BWP) and a BWP for DL (DL BWP). One or more BWPs may be configured for a UE within one carrier.
[0166] At least one of the configured BWPs may be active, and the UE may not expect to transmit or receive a given signal / channel outside the active BWP. Note that the terms "cell," "carrier," etc. in this disclosure may be read as "BWP."
[0167] The above-described structures of radio frames, subframes, slots, minislots, symbols, etc. are merely examples, and various changes may be made to the number of subframes included in a radio frame, the number of slots per subframe or radio frame, the number of minislots included in a slot, the number of symbols and RBs included in a slot or minislot, the number of subcarriers included in an RB, the number of symbols in a TTI, the symbol length, the cyclic prefix (CP) length, etc.
[0168] In this disclosure, where articles are added by translation, such as a, an, and the in English, the disclosure may include that the nouns following these articles are in the plural form.
[0169] In the present disclosure, the term "A and B are different" may mean "A and B are different from each other." The term may also mean "A and B are each different from C." Terms such as "separate" and "coupled" may also be interpreted in the same way as "different."
[0170] The aspects / embodiments described in this disclosure may be used alone, in combination, or switched depending on the implementation. Notification of predetermined information (e.g., notification that "X is true") is not limited to explicit notification, but may be implicit (e.g., not notifying the predetermined information).
[0171] Although the present disclosure has been described in detail above, it is clear to those skilled in the art that the present disclosure is not limited to the embodiments described herein. The present disclosure can be implemented in modified and altered forms without departing from the spirit and scope of the present disclosure as defined by the claims. Therefore, the description of the present disclosure is intended to be illustrative and does not have any limiting meaning on the present disclosure.
