[0022] Hereinafter, an embodiment of the present disclosure will be described with reference to the drawings.

[0023] FIG. 1 is a diagram showing a configuration of a vehicle driving data estimation system 1 including a vehicle driving data estimation device 10 according to an embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0024] The vehicle driving data estimation system 1 includes a vehicle driving data estimation device 10 and a terminal device 20. The vehicle driving data estimation device 10 and the terminal device 20 are communicatively connected via a network 30. The network 30 may be a network including a mobile communication network, the Internet, or the like.

[0025] The vehicle travel data estimation device 10 is, for example, a dedicated computer configured to function as a server, or may be a general-purpose PC (Personal Computer).

[0026] The vehicle 2 shown in FIG. 1 may be, for example, a truck owned by a transportation company. Note that the vehicle 2 is not limited to a truck and may be any type of vehicle. The vehicle 2 may be, for example, a passenger car, a bus, a construction vehicle, or the like. Furthermore, the organization that owns the vehicle 2 is not limited to a transportation company, and the vehicle 2 may be owned by an organization other than a transportation company.

[0027] The terminal device 20 is a terminal device operated by an operator of the organization that owns the vehicle 2. For example, if the vehicle 2 is a truck of a transportation company, the terminal device 20 may be installed in the transportation company. The terminal device 20 may be, for example, a PC, a smartphone, a tablet, or the like. The organization that owns the terminal device 20 is not limited to a transportation company, and the terminal device 20 may be owned by an organization other than a transportation company.

[0028] When the terminal device 20 acquires information on the departure point and destination point of the vehicle 2 through input operations by the operator, it transmits the information on the departure point and destination point of the vehicle 2 to the vehicle driving data estimation device 10 via the network 30. Note that the "departure point" and "destination point" mentioned here do not have to be the actual departure point and destination point of the vehicle 2, as long as they are two pieces of location information. In this embodiment, the terms "departure point" and "destination point" are used to refer to the two pieces of location information.

[0029] The vehicle travel data estimation device 10 acquires information on the departure point and destination point of the vehicle 2 from the terminal device 20 via the network 30 .

[0030] The vehicle travel data estimation device 10 estimates the travel route of the vehicle 2 based on the acquired information on the departure point and information on the destination point. The vehicle travel data estimation device 10 estimates travel data of the vehicle 2 based on the estimated travel route of the vehicle 2.

[0031] Before describing the details of the operation of the vehicle traveling data estimation device 10, the configuration of the vehicle traveling data estimation device 10 according to an embodiment of the present disclosure will be described with reference to FIG. 2.

[0032] The vehicle driving data estimation device 10 includes a communication unit 11 , a storage unit 12 , an input unit 13 , an output unit 14 , and a control unit 15 .

[0033] The communication unit 11 includes a communication module that connects to the network 30. For example, the communication unit 11 may include a communication module that supports a LAN (Local Area Network). In one embodiment, the vehicle driving data estimation device 10 is connected to the network 30 via the communication unit 11. The communication unit 11 transmits and receives various information via the network 30. The communication unit 11 is capable of communicating with the terminal device 20 via the network 30.

[0034] The storage unit 12 may be, for example, a semiconductor memory, a magnetic memory, an optical memory, or the like, but is not limited to these. The storage unit 12 may function as, for example, a main storage device, an auxiliary storage device, or a cache memory. The storage unit 12 stores any information used in the operation of the vehicle traveling data estimation device 10. For example, the storage unit 12 may store a system program, an application program, and various information received by the communication unit 11. The information stored in the storage unit 12 may be updateable, for example, with information received from the network 30 via the communication unit 11. A portion of the storage unit 12 may be installed external to the vehicle traveling data estimation device 10. In this case, the externally installed portion of the storage unit 12 may be connected to the vehicle traveling data estimation device 10 via any interface.

[0035] The input unit 13 includes one or more input interfaces that detect user input and acquire input information based on the user's operation. For example, the input unit 13 includes, but is not limited to, physical keys, capacitive keys, a touch screen integrated with the display of the output unit 14, or a microphone that accepts voice input.

[0036] The output unit 14 includes one or more output interfaces that output information to notify the user. For example, the output unit 14 includes, but is not limited to, a display that outputs information as an image, a speaker that outputs information as sound, etc.

[0037] The control unit 15 includes at least one processor, at least one dedicated circuit, or a combination thereof. The processor is a general-purpose processor such as a central processing unit (CPU) or a graphics processing unit (GPU), or a dedicated processor specialized for a specific process. The dedicated circuit is, for example, a field-programmable gate array (FPGA) or an application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC). The control unit 15 controls each part of the vehicle traveling data estimation device 10 and executes processes related to the operation of the vehicle traveling data estimation device 10.

[0038] (Operation of the Vehicle Travel Data Estimation Device) Next, a description will be given of the operation of the vehicle travel data estimation device 10. Hereinafter, a case where the terminal device 20 is installed in a transportation company will be described as an example.

[0039] An operator of the transportation company inputs information about the departure point and destination point of the vehicle 2 into the terminal device 20. The vehicle 2 may be, for example, a truck of the transportation company. When the vehicle 2 is a truck of the transportation company, the departure point and destination point of the vehicle 2 are fixed, and the vehicle 2 often travels the same travel route repeatedly.

[0040] When the terminal device 20 acquires information on the departure point and destination point of the vehicle 2 through input operations by the operator, it transmits the information on the departure point and destination point of the vehicle 2 to the vehicle driving data estimation device 10 via the network 30.

[0041] The communication unit 11 of the vehicle driving data estimation device 10 receives information on the departure point and destination point of the vehicle 2 transmitted by the terminal device 20. The control unit 15 acquires the information on the departure point and destination point of the vehicle 2 transmitted by the terminal device 20 via the communication unit 11. In this way, the control unit 15 acquires information on the departure point and destination point of the vehicle 2 as information related to the driving of the vehicle 2.

[0042] The control unit 15 estimates the driving route of the vehicle 2 based on the acquired information on the departure point and destination point of the vehicle 2. When estimating the driving route, the control unit 15 may estimate the driving route by referring to the map data stored in the memory unit 12. Alternatively, if an external server stores the map data, the control unit 15 may estimate the driving route by referring to the map data stored in the external server.

[0043] 3 shows an example of how the control unit 15 estimates the driving route of the vehicle 2 based on information on the departure point and destination point of the vehicle 2. In the example shown in FIG. 3, the control unit 15 estimates the driving route 103 of the vehicle 2 based on the departure point 101 of the vehicle 2 and the destination point 102 of the vehicle 2.

[0044] When estimating the driving route, the control unit 15 may estimate the driving route of the vehicle 2 so that the driving distance or driving time from the departure point to the destination point is the shortest. Normally, the vehicle 2 is likely to travel on a driving route that results in the shortest driving distance or driving time. Therefore, by estimating the driving route so that the driving distance or driving time is the shortest, the control unit 15 can estimate the driving route with high accuracy.

[0045] Alternatively, when estimating a driving route, the control unit 15 may weight roads according to road width so that there is a higher probability that wider roads will be included in the driving route. Here, weighting according to road width means weighting wider roads so that they are more likely to be included in the estimated driving route. The control unit 15 may acquire information on road width by referring to map data stored in the memory unit 12.

[0046] For example, if the vehicle 2 is a large vehicle such as a truck, it is likely to travel on a wide road. Therefore, by estimating the travel route by weighting the travel route according to the road width, the control unit 15 can estimate the travel route with high accuracy.

[0047] Alternatively, when estimating a driving route, the control unit 15 may weight roads according to the legal speed so that the probability that the driving route will include roads with higher legal speeds is increased. Here, weighting according to the legal speed means weighting roads so that roads with higher legal speeds are more likely to be included in the estimated driving route. The control unit 15 may acquire information about the legal speed by referring to map data stored in the memory unit 12.

[0048] The vehicle 2 is likely to travel on roads with higher legal speed limits in order to shorten the travel time. Therefore, by estimating the travel route by weighting the travel route according to the legal speed limit, the control unit 15 can estimate the travel route with high accuracy.

[0049] In addition to information on the departure point and destination point of vehicle 2, control unit 15 may also acquire information on the intermediate points of vehicle 2, and estimate the driving route of vehicle 2 based on the information on the departure point, destination point, and intermediate points of vehicle 2.

[0050] In this case, the terminal device 20 further acquires information about the waypoints of the vehicle 2 through input operations by the operator, and transmits the acquired information about the waypoints of the vehicle 2 to the vehicle driving data estimation device 10 via the network 30.

[0051] The communication unit 11 of the vehicle driving data estimation device 10 receives the information on the waypoints of the vehicle 2 transmitted by the terminal device 20. The control unit 15 acquires the information on the waypoints of the vehicle 2 transmitted by the terminal device 20 via the communication unit 11.

[0052] In this way, by estimating the driving route of vehicle 2 based on information on the departure point and destination point of vehicle 2, as well as information on the intermediate points of vehicle 2, the control unit 15 can estimate the driving route with even greater accuracy.

[0053] The control unit 15 may acquire the position information of the vehicle 2 at predetermined time intervals, and may use two pieces of position information of the vehicle 2 acquired at the predetermined time intervals as information on the departure point and information on the destination point to estimate the travel route of the vehicle 2. The predetermined time interval may be, for example, an interval of about several minutes.

[0054] In this case, the vehicle 2 transmits its position information, acquired by a GPS (Global Positioning System) or the like, to the vehicle driving data estimation device 10 via the network 30 at predetermined time intervals.

[0055] The communication unit 11 of the vehicle driving data estimation device 10 receives the position information of the vehicle 2 transmitted at predetermined time intervals by the vehicle 2. The control unit 15 acquires the position information of the vehicle 2 transmitted at predetermined time intervals by the vehicle 2 via the communication unit 11.

[0056] In this way, by estimating the driving route of vehicle 2 using two of the position information of vehicle 2 obtained at predetermined time intervals as information on the departure point and information on the destination point, control unit 15 can estimate the driving route with even greater accuracy.

[0057] When estimating the driving route, the control unit 15 may estimate the driving route of the vehicle 2 based on a trained model constructed based on big data that accumulates past vehicle driving data. The trained model may be stored in the storage unit 12.

[0058] After estimating the travel route, the control unit 15 estimates travel data of the vehicle 2 based on the estimated travel route.

[0059] Here, the travel data of the vehicle 2 includes at least one of data on the speed and acceleration when the vehicle 2 is traveling along the estimated travel route, and data on the distance traveled when the vehicle 2 travels along the estimated travel route. The travel data of the vehicle 2 may include other data in addition to at least one of data on the speed, acceleration, and distance traveled.

[0060] The speed and acceleration data included in the travel data of the vehicle 2 may be time-series data.

[0061] The storage unit 12 stores a database that associates driving routes with driving data. This database is created in advance by associating driving routes with driving data, and is stored in the storage unit 12. Note that the database that associates driving routes with driving data does not necessarily have to be stored in the storage unit 12. The database that associates driving routes with driving data may be stored in an external server. In this embodiment, the description will be given assuming that the database that associates driving routes with driving data is stored in the storage unit 12.

[0062] The control unit 15 estimates the travel data based on the estimated travel route by referring to the database stored in the storage unit 12. With this configuration, the control unit 15 can estimate the travel data with high accuracy based on the travel route by referring to the database that associates the travel route with the travel data.

[0063] The database may associate different travel data with a travel route depending on the time and date. For example, the database may associate different travel data with the same travel route depending on the time. Even for the same travel route, the speed of the vehicle 2 may differ between daytime and nighttime. Therefore, by associating different travel data with a travel route depending on the time, the control unit 15 can accurately estimate the travel data.

[0064] Furthermore, for example, the database may associate different travel data depending on the date, even if the travel route is the same. Even if the travel route is the same, the speed of the vehicle 2 may differ between weekdays and holidays. Also, the speed of the vehicle 2 may differ depending on the season. Therefore, by associating different travel data with the travel route depending on the date, the control unit 15 can accurately estimate the travel data.

[0065] The control unit 15 can estimate the wear state of the tires of the vehicle 2 and the remaining durability of the basal tire of the vehicle 2 based on the estimated driving data. Here, the wear state of the tire refers to the wear state of the tread rubber portion of the tire. Furthermore, the basal tire is the portion of the tire excluding the tread portion, which is the portion that is reused when the tire is retreaded. The remaining durability of the basal tire is an index that indicates how much longer the basal tire can be used.

[0066] When estimating the wear condition of the tires of vehicle 2, the control unit 15 may estimate the wear condition of the tires of vehicle 2 based on the lateral acceleration and longitudinal acceleration of vehicle 2 when traveling along the estimated driving route.

[0067] The control unit 15 may calculate the lateral acceleration based on speed data included in the estimated driving data and curvature data of the road included in the estimated driving route. The control unit 15 may acquire information on the curvature data of the road width by referring to the map data stored in the memory unit 12. With this configuration, the control unit 15 can accurately calculate the lateral acceleration.

[0068] The control unit 15 may calculate the longitudinal acceleration based on traffic light information for roads included in the estimated driving route. When the vehicle 2 stops due to a red light, the vehicle 2 decelerates before the light and accelerates when the light turns green, causing longitudinal acceleration. Therefore, the control unit 15 can calculate the longitudinal acceleration based on traffic light information for roads included in the estimated driving route. The control unit 15 may acquire the road traffic light information by referring to map data stored in the memory unit 12. This configuration allows the control unit 15 to accurately calculate the longitudinal acceleration.

[0069] The operation of the vehicle travel data estimation device 10 will be described with reference to the flowchart shown in FIG.

[0070] Step S101 : The control unit 15 of the vehicle driving data estimation device 10 acquires information on the departure point and destination point of the vehicle 2 from the terminal device 20 .

[0071] Step S102: The control unit 15 estimates the travel route of the vehicle 2 based on the acquired information on the departure point and destination point of the vehicle 2.

[0072] Step S103: Based on the estimated travel route, the control unit 15 estimates travel data of the vehicle 2. Based on the estimated travel data, the control unit 15 can estimate the wear state of the tires of the vehicle 2 and the remaining durability of the base tire of the vehicle 2.

[0073] As described above, in the vehicle traveling data estimation device 10 according to this embodiment, the control unit 15 acquires information about the departure point and the destination point as information related to the traveling of the vehicle 2, estimates the traveling route of the vehicle 2 based on the information about the departure point and the information about the destination point, and estimates traveling data of the vehicle 2 traveling along the traveling route based on the estimated traveling route. In this way, the vehicle traveling data estimation device 10 according to this embodiment can estimate the traveling data of the vehicle 2 simply by acquiring information about the departure point and the destination point. That is, the vehicle traveling data estimation device 10 according to this embodiment can estimate the traveling data of the vehicle 2 without installing sensors that detect speed, acceleration, etc. in the vehicle 2. Therefore, the vehicle traveling data estimation device 10 according to this embodiment can easily estimate the traveling data of the vehicle 2 without installing sensors that detect speed, acceleration, etc. in the vehicle 2.

[0074] In addition, the vehicle driving data estimation device 10 according to this embodiment can estimate the wear state of the tires of the vehicle 2 and the remaining durability of the base tires of the vehicle 2 based on the driving data of the vehicle 2 estimated in this manner.

[0075] Although the embodiments of the present disclosure have been described based on the drawings and examples, it should be noted that those skilled in the art would easily be able to make various modifications or alterations based on the present disclosure. Therefore, it should be noted that these modifications and alterations are included within the scope of the present disclosure. For example, the functions included in each component or step can be rearranged so as not to cause logical inconsistencies, and multiple components or steps can be combined or divided into one. The embodiments of the present disclosure can also be realized as a storage medium on which a program executed by a processor included in an apparatus is recorded.
