Abstract
Description
Compressors and home appliances containing them
[0001] The present disclosure relates to an oil pickup unit for cooling and lubrication of a hermetic reciprocating compressor.
[0002] A compressor is a mechanical device that increases the pressure of a gas by reducing its volume. Compressors are broadly categorized into positive displacement (PDS) compressors, in which the fluid volume varies, and turbo / dynamic (Turbo / Dynamic) compressors, in which the fluid velocity varies. Between the two types, positive displacement compressors are widely used in small to medium-capacity applications. Positive displacement compressors are further categorized into reciprocating and rotary compressors based on their operating method.
[0003] A reciprocating compressor is a compressor that converts the rotational motion of a motor into the linear reciprocating motion of a piston within a cylinder through a crankshaft and connecting rod to suck in and compress gas.
[0004] Rotary compressors include rotary compressors that suck or compress gas by rotating a roller inside a cylinder by the rotational motion of a motor, and scroll compressors that continuously suck and compress gas by rotating a scroll in a fixed direction around the center of a scroll by the rotational motion of a motor.
[0005] Among reciprocating compressors, a hermetic reciprocating compressor is a compressor in which an electric motor, such as a motor, and a compression mechanism, such as a piston, are located within a single case. Oil is stored within the case for lubrication and cooling of components such as the electric motor or compression mechanism.
[0006] A hermetic reciprocating compressor includes a rotating shaft for transmitting the rotational power of a motor to a piston, and a pickup shaft that is accommodated in a hollow portion of the rotating shaft and raises oil stored in a case.
[0007] When the compressor is in operation, noise may be generated when the inner surface of the rotating shaft and the pickup shaft collide due to vibration transmitted from the compressor body to the pickup shaft.
[0008] The above information is provided solely as background information to aid in understanding the present disclosure. No determination has been made, and no assertion has been made, as to whether the above content constitutes prior art in connection with the present disclosure.
[0009] Various embodiments are intended to address at least the problems and / or disadvantages mentioned above and to provide at least the advantages described below. Accordingly, various embodiments of the present disclosure can provide a compressor including an oil pickup unit having a bridge structure that dampens vibrations transmitted from the compressor body during operation of the compressor.
[0010] According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, a compressor may include a case in which oil is stored at the bottom, a stator disposed inside the case, a rotor that rotates by electromagnetic interaction with the stator, a rotating shaft coupled to the rotor and having a hollow portion therein, and an oil pickup unit whose one end is accommodated in the hollow portion and whose other end is fixed to the stator. The oil pickup unit may include a bridge portion that connects the one end and the other end and is bent multiple times. According to various embodiments of the present disclosure, the bridge portion of the oil pickup unit that connects a pickup shaft accommodated in the hollow portion of the rotating shaft and a fixed portion fixed to the compressor body is bent multiple times to form a damper portion, so that vibration transmitted from the compressor body to the oil pickup unit during operation of the compressor can be attenuated. Accordingly, the frequency of collision between the inner surface of the rotating shaft and the outer surface of the pickup shaft during operation of the compressor is reduced, so that abnormal noise due to the operation of the compressor as a whole can be reduced.
[0011] According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, a home appliance including a refrigeration cycle for heat exchange with the outside using a refrigerant may include a compressor for compressing the refrigerant. The compressor may include a case in which oil is stored at a lower portion, a stator disposed and accommodated within the case, a rotor that rotates by electromagnetic interaction with the stator, a rotating shaft coupled to the rotor and having a hollow portion therein, and an oil pickup unit having one end accommodated in the hollow portion and the other end fixed to the stator. The oil pickup unit may include a bridge unit that connects the one end and the other end and has at least a portion bent multiple times.
[0012] Other aspects, advantages and salient features of the present disclosure will become apparent to those skilled in the art from the following detailed description of various embodiments of the present disclosure taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.

[0025] In connection with the description of the drawings, similar reference numerals may be used for similar or related components.
[0026] The singular form of a noun corresponding to an item may include one or more items, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise.
[0027] In this document, each of the phrases "A or B", "at least one of A and B", "at least one of A or B", "A, B, or C", "at least one of A, B, and C", and "at least one of A, B, or C" may include any one of the items listed together in that phrase, or all possible combinations thereof.
[0028] Terms such as "first," "second," or "first" or "second" may be used simply to distinguish one component from another and do not qualify the components in any other respect (e.g., importance or order).
[0029] When a component (e.g., a first component) is referred to as being “coupled” or “connected” to another component (e.g., a second component), with or without the terms “functionally” or “communicatively,” it means that the component can be connected to the other component directly (e.g., wired), wirelessly, or through a third component.

[0031] When a component is said to be “connected,” “coupled,” “supported,” or “in contact with” another component, this includes not only cases where the components are directly connected, coupled, supported, or in contact, but also cases where the components are indirectly connected, coupled, supported, or in contact through a third component.
[0032] When we say that a component is “on” another component, this includes not only cases where the component is in contact with the other component, but also cases where there is another component between the two components.
[0033] The term “and / or” includes any combination of a plurality of related described elements or any one of a plurality of related described elements.
[0034] The operating principle and embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the attached drawings below.
[0035] The compressor (1) described in this document can perform a compression cycle among the four cycles of compression, condensation, expansion, and evaporation of a refrigeration cycle. The compressor (1) can be used in various home appliances such as air conditioners, refrigerators, and freezers having a refrigeration cycle. The examples described below are based on a hermetic reciprocating compressor (1) to help understand the present disclosure, but the present disclosure is not limited thereto, and may be implemented in various modified forms such as a rotary compressor and a scroll compressor.
[0036] FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a hermetic reciprocating compressor according to an example of the present disclosure.
[0037] Referring to FIG. 1, a compressor (1) according to an example may be a sealed reciprocating compressor in which a motor (e.g., motor (10) of FIG. 2) described below is housed sealed (e.g., airtight or gas tight) inside a case (2).
[0038] In one example, the case (2) may be made of a metal material. In one example, the case (2) may be manufactured by plastically working a steel plate using a deep drawing method or the like. For example, the case (2) may be manufactured by welding two steel plate structures manufactured in a hemispherical shape. When manufacturing the case (2), pressing (e.g., a pressing method or pressing operation) may be used to manufacture a steel plate sheet having a predetermined thickness into a hemispherical shape.
[0039] In one example, the case (2) may include an upper case (2a) and a lower case (2b). In one example, the compressor (1) may be sealed from the outside by being housed in the lower case (2b) and the upper case (2a) and the lower case (2b) being joined together.
[0040] For example, although not specifically shown in the drawing, oil may be stored in the lower part of the case (2), for example, inside the lower case (2b), for lubrication and cooling between various components of the compressor (1).
[0041] FIG. 2 is a perspective view of the compressor of FIG. 1 with the case removed, according to one embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0042] FIG. 3 is a cross-sectional view of the compressor illustrated in FIG. 2, according to one embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0043] Referring to FIGS. 2 and 3, a compressor (1) according to an example may include a motor (10), a cylinder block (20), and an oil pickup unit (30).
[0044] According to one example, the motor (10) may be coupled to the lower side of the cylinder block (20).
[0045] According to one example, the motor (10) may include a stator (11), an insulator (12), a rotor (13), and a rotating shaft (14) coupled to the rotor (13).
[0046] According to one example, the stator (11) may be coupled to the lower side of the cylinder block (20) via a fastening member (e.g., a bolt). In one example, the stator (11) may include a cylindrical stator core (111) made of a metal material and a stator coil (not shown) wound (e.g., wrapped or provided) around the stator core (111). The stator (11) may electromagnetically interact with the rotor (13) as an electromagnetic force is generated when voltage is applied to the stator coil.
[0047] In one example, the insulator (12) may be disposed between the stator core (111) and the stator coil (not shown). In one example, the insulator (12) may include an upper insulator (12a) disposed on the upper side of the stator (11) (specifically, the stator core (111)) and a lower insulator (12b) disposed on the lower side of the stator (11) (specifically, the stator core (111)). For example, the stator coil may be wound (e.g., wrapped or provided) to substantially surround the stator core (111) and the insulator (12).
[0048] Direct contact between the stator core (111) and the stator coil can be blocked by the insulator (12). If the stator coil and the stator core (111) are in direct contact, the generation of electromagnetic force from the stator coil may be hindered, so it may be necessary to separate the stator core (111) and the stator coil by a predetermined distance through the insulator (12).
[0049] According to an example, the lower insulator (12b) may include a coupling part (121) provided with a coupling hole (1211) into which a fixing part (33) of an oil pickup part (30) described later is inserted (see FIG. 6). In this document, the coupling part (121) is described as an example provided in the insulator (12) (specifically, the lower insulator (12b)), but the present disclosure is not limited thereto, and the coupling part may be provided as a separate member (e.g., a bracket).
[0050] According to one example, the rotor (13) may be arranged inside the stator (11). In this way, a motor (10) in which the rotor (13) is arranged inside the stator (11) may be referred to as an inner rotor type motor (10). In this document, an inner rotor type motor (10) is described as an example, but the present disclosure is not limited thereto. In some examples, the motor may be implemented as an outer rotor type in which the rotor is arranged outside the stator.
[0051] According to one example, the rotor (13) may be rotatably arranged inside the stator (11). In one example, the rotor (13) may include a plurality of magnets (13a) that are inserted and mounted inside the rotor (13) (e.g., rotor core). The rotor (13) may rotate through electromagnetic interaction with the stator (11) when voltage is applied to the stator (11).
[0052] According to one example, the lower end of the rotary shaft (14) may be coupled to the rotor (13) and the upper end may be coupled to the connecting rod (15). In this case, the rotary shaft (14) may transmit the rotational power of the motor (10) to the cylinder (21) described later when the motor (10) rotates.
[0053] In one example, the rotary shaft (14) may include a central shaft (141) and an eccentric shaft (143). In one example, the central shaft (141) may be coupled with the rotor (13). In one example, the eccentric shaft (143) may be coupled to one end of a connecting rod (15). In one example, the other end of the connecting rod (15) may be coupled to a piston (22) inserted into a compression chamber (not shown) of a cylinder (21) described later. In one example, the connecting rod (15) may convert the rotational motion of the motor (10) into a linear reciprocating motion (or, forward and backward motion) of the piston (22) disposed in the compression chamber described later.
[0054] In one example, the rotating shaft (14) may have a hollow portion (1411) to allow oil stored in the case (2) to rise through the inner surface. In one example, the hollow portion (1411) may be provided at the lower portion of the central axis (141).
[0055] According to an example, a cylinder block (20) may include a cylinder (21) having a cylindrical compression chamber (not shown) provided therein, a piston (22) inserted so as to reciprocate inside the compression chamber, and a valve assembly (23) provided on one side of the cylinder (21).
[0056] In one example, the cylinder (21) may have a hexahedral shape. In one example, the cylinder (21) may include a cylindrical compression chamber penetrating the center of the cylinder (21).
[0057] According to one example, the piston (22) may be inserted and placed inside the compression chamber of the cylinder (21). In one example, the piston (22) may be coupled with the connecting rod (15) at the rear of the cylinder (21). The piston (22) may reciprocate back and forth inside the compression chamber through the connecting rod (15) when the motor (10) rotates. The volume of the space inside the compression chamber changes due to the reciprocating back and forth movement of the piston (22), and a gas (e.g., refrigerant) may be sucked (e.g., introduced or flowed) into the space inside the compression chamber, or the sucked gas may be compressed.
[0058] In one example, the valve assembly (23) may be coupled to the outside of the cylinder (21). In one example, the valve assembly (23) may be arranged at the front of the cylinder (21) to cover the compression chamber of the cylinder (21). In one example, the valve assembly (23) includes an intake valve (not shown) and a discharge valve (not shown), and may suck (e.g., induce) gas into the compression chamber or discharge gas out of the compression chamber according to the back-and-forth reciprocating motion of the piston (22).
[0059] In one example, the oil pickup unit (30) may interact with the rotating shaft (14) when the rotating shaft (14) rotates, thereby causing the oil stored in the lower part of the case (2) to rise. In one example, the oil pickup unit (30) may have one end (or first end) (30a) inserted into the hollow portion (1411) of the rotating shaft (14). In one example, the other end (or second end) (30b) of the oil pickup unit (30) may be fixed to the insulator (12) (specifically, the lower insulator (12b)).
[0060] The specific function, shape and / or structure of the above oil pickup unit (30) will be described in detail with reference to FIGS. 4 to 6.
[0061] FIG. 4 is a drawing showing a state in which a rotating shaft and an oil pickup unit are separated according to one embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0062] FIG. 5 is a front view of an oil pickup unit according to one embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0063] FIG. 6 is an enlarged view of part A shown in FIG. 2 according to one embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0064] Referring to FIGS. 4 to 6, according to an example, a rotary shaft (14) may include a central axis (141), a disk portion (142), and an eccentric shaft (143).
[0065] According to an example, the central axis (141) may extend downwardly from the center of the disc portion (142). For example, the central axis (141) may extend downwardly from the center of the disc portion (142).
[0066] According to one example, the central axis (141) may include at least one communication hole (1412) formed on the outer surface of the central axis (141) and communicating with the hollow portion (1411) and a spiral groove (1413) extending from the communication hole (1412) in the axial direction (e.g., up and down) of the central axis (141).
[0067] According to an example, the disc portion (142) extends radially and can be connected to each of the central axis (141) and the eccentric axis (143).
[0068] In one example, the eccentric shaft (143) may extend upwardly from the disc portion (142). For example, the eccentric shaft (143) may extend upwardly at a position off-center from the disc portion (142).
[0069] An oil pickup unit (30) according to an example may include a pickup shaft (31), a bridge unit (32), and a fixing unit (33).
[0070] According to one example, the pickup shaft (31) is located at one end (30a) of the oil pickup section (30) and can be accommodated in the hollow portion (1411) of the rotary shaft (14).
[0071] According to one example, the pickup shaft (31) may include a spiral blade (31a) formed on the outer surface of the pickup shaft (31) and lifting oil stored in the case (2) together with the inner surface of the rotary shaft (14) (1411a in FIG. 3). For example, the spiral blade (31a) may be formed to extend along the axial direction (e.g., up-down direction) of the pickup shaft (31) from the outer surface of the pickup shaft (31). The pickup shaft (31) may have a screw shape.
[0072] When the rotary shaft (14) rotates, the oil stored in the case (2) rotates in the direction of rotation of the rotary shaft (14) due to the adhesive force with the rotary shaft (14) and can rise along the spiral blade (31a) of the pickup shaft (31). That is, the centrifugal force due to the rotation is converted into an upward force by the spiral blade (31a), so that the oil can rise.
[0073] Oil rising from within the hollow portion (1411) can be guided to the spiral groove (1413) through the communication hole (1412). Thereafter, the oil guided to the spiral groove (1413) descends along the spiral groove (1413) and can lubricate and cool the space between the outer surface of the rotating shaft (14) and the inner surface of the shaft support (16 in FIG. 3).
[0074] For example, although not specifically shown in the drawing, the hollow portion (1411) of the rotary shaft (14) may be connected to the eccentric shaft (143) through a separately provided oil passage (not shown). When the rotary shaft (14) rotates, oil rising inside the hollow portion (1411) may rise toward the eccentric shaft (143) along the oil passage, thereby lubricating and cooling the eccentric shaft (143) and / or the connecting rod (15).
[0075] In one example, the bridge portion (32) can connect the pickup shaft (31) and the fixed portion (33). In one example, the bridge portion (32) can be bent multiple times in a predetermined section. In one example, the bridge portion (32) can be designed to have an appropriate thickness (t1) so as to have a degree of freedom for behavior (or deformation) when the compressor (1) vibrates. For example, the thickness (t1) of the bridge portion (32) can be set to approximately 1 mm (or 1T (thickness)).
[0076] According to an example, the bridge portion (32) may include a plurality of times bent damper portions (321) and connecting portions (e.g., a first connecting portion (322), a second connecting portion (323)) connected to the pickup shaft (31) and the fixed portion (33) on each side of the damper portion (321).
[0077] According to an example, the damper portion (321) may be bent multiple times to have one of a wave (e.g., curved) shape, a wrinkle shape, and a rough shape. In this case, the overall surface area length of the bridge portion (32) in the extension direction of the bridge portion (32) may be increased compared to the case where the damper portion (321) bent multiple times is not provided in the bridge portion (32). As a result, the damper portion (321) may increase the vibration transmission path of the bridge portion (32). Accordingly, the vibration transmitted to the oil pickup portion (30) through the fixed portion (33) during the operation of the compressor (1) may be attenuated by the damper portion (321).
[0078] According to an example, the thickness (t2) of the damper portion (321) may be designed to be greater than the thickness (t1) of the bridge portion (32). The thickness (t2) of the damper portion (321) may refer to the thickness of the upper and lower portions of the damper portion (321) (or the height difference between the peak and the valley) formed by the damper portion (321) being bent multiple times. In this case, when the oil pickup portion (30) is moved during the manufacturing process of the compressor (1), the automatic assembly equipment device can grip the damper portion (321), thereby solving the problem of not being able to apply the automated equipment due to the bridge portion (32) becoming thin.
[0079] In one example, the fixed part (33) may be located at the other end (30b) of the oil pickup part (30). In another example, the fixed part (33) may be fitted into a coupling part (121) provided in the insulator (12) (specifically, the lower insulator (12b)). In this case, the pickup shaft (31) may not rotate due to the fixed part (33) despite the rotation of the rotary shaft (14).
[0080] According to one example, the fixed part (33) may include a pair of fixed protrusions (331) and a deformation space (332) formed between the pair of fixed protrusions. In one example, the pair of fixed protrusions (331) may include a first fixed protrusion (331a) and a second fixed protrusion (331b) formed symmetrically with the deformation space (332) interposed therebetween.
[0081] According to an example, each of the first fixing protrusion (331a) and the second fixing protrusion (331b) may include a body portion (3311) and an insertion portion (3312) extending from the body portion (3311) and having a diameter that gradually decreases upward. When the fixing portion (33) is fitted into the coupling portion (121) of the lower insulator (12b), a pair of fixing protrusions (331) may be deformed (e.g., changed in shape or form) toward the deformation space (332) and then, when the insertion is completed, restored to their original shape, thereby being hooked and fixed to the coupling portion (121).
[0082] According to an example, the pickup shaft (31) and the fixed part (33) may be arranged parallel to each other. For example, the central axis (C1) of the pickup shaft (31) and the central axis (C2) of the fixed part (33) may be parallel to each other.
[0083] FIG. 7 is a drawing showing the lower part of a compressor according to one embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0084] FIG. 8 is an enlarged cross-section of part B of FIG. 7 according to one embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0085] FIG. 9 is a graph showing noise according to the frequency range of each RPM of the motor generated during operation of the compressor according to one embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0086] Referring to FIGS. 7 and 8, the oil pickup unit (30) can be fixed to the main body of the compressor (1) (specifically, the joint portion (121) of the lower insulator (12b)) via the fixing portion (33). The pickup shaft (31) of the oil pickup unit (30) can be accommodated in the hollow portion (1411) of the rotating shaft (14).
[0087] When the compressor (1) is in operation, the rotary shaft (14) rotates due to the rotation of the motor (10), but the pickup shaft (31) is fixed to the main body of the compressor (1) and does not rotate. When the compressor (1) is in operation, vibration due to the rotation of the motor (10) may be transmitted from the main body of the compressor (1) (e.g., stator (11)) to the pickup shaft (31) along the fixed part (33) and the bridge part (32) of the oil pickup part (30), and in this case, the inner surface (1411a) of the rotary shaft (14) and the outer surface of the pickup shaft (31) collide, generating noise.
[0088] However, as described above, the bridge portion (32) of the oil pickup portion (30) is bent multiple times to form a damper portion (321), and as the damper portion (321) functions as a buffer member, the vibration transmitted to the oil pickup portion (30) when the compressor (1) operates is attenuated. In this case, the frequency of collision between the inner surface (1411a) of the rotating shaft (14) and the outer surface of the pickup shaft (31) is reduced, and as a result, abnormal noise caused by the collision is also reduced.
[0089] Figures 9 (a) to (d) are graphs showing noise (dB) according to frequency (Hz) for a specific RPM of the motor (10), with the X-axis showing frequency (Hz) and the Y-axis showing noise (dB).
[0090] Referring to FIG. 9, as a result, when the motor (10) rotates at a specific RPM (e.g., 1300 RPM in (a) of FIG. 9, 1600 RPM in (b) of FIG. 9, 2450 RPM in (c) of FIG. 9, and 3000 RPM in (d) of FIG. 9), it can be confirmed that the modified structure in which the damper portion (321) is formed in the bridge portion (32) reduces noise in the overall frequency range compared to the existing structure in which the damper portion (321) is not formed in the bridge portion (32). In addition, it can be confirmed that noise is effectively reduced in a specific frequency range (e.g., 630 Hz to 800 Hz or 1000 Hz to 2000 Hz).
[0091] A compressor (1) according to one embodiment of the present disclosure may include a case (2) in which oil is stored at the bottom, a stator (11) disposed inside the case (2), a rotor (13) that rotates by electromagnetic interaction with the stator (11), a rotating shaft (14) coupled to the rotor (13) and having a hollow portion (1411) therein, and an oil pickup unit (30) having one end (30a) accommodated in the hollow portion (1411) and the other end (30b) fixed to the stator (11). The oil pickup unit (30) may include a bridge portion (32) that connects the one end (30a) and the other end (30b) and is at least partially bent multiple times.
[0092] According to one embodiment, the stator (11) may include a stator core (111) and an insulator (12b) surrounding the upper or lower portion of the stator core (111). The insulator (12b) may include a connecting portion (121) into which the other end (30b) of the oil pickup portion (30) is inserted.
[0093] According to one embodiment, the oil pickup unit (30) may include a fixing projection (331) that is fitted into the coupling unit (121) at the other end (30b).
[0094] According to one embodiment, the oil pickup unit (30) is received in the hollow portion (1411) of the rotary shaft (14) at the end (30a) and may include a pickup shaft (31) having a spiral-shaped outer surface.
[0095] According to one embodiment, the fixed projection (331) and the pickup shaft (31) may be arranged parallel to each other.
[0096] According to one embodiment, the central axis (C1) of the pickup shaft (31) and the central axis of the rotation shaft (14) can be arranged to substantially coincide with each other when receiving the hollow portion (1411) of the pickup shaft (31).
