Abstract
Description
compressor
[0001] The present disclosure relates to a compressor including a buffer member that reduces impact force and noise generated during the opening and closing operation of a suction valve.
[0002] A compressor is a mechanical device that compresses a gas to increase its pressure. Compressors are broadly categorized into positive displacement (PDS) compressors, which vary the volume of the fluid, and turbo / dynamic (Turbo / Dynamic) compressors, which vary the velocity of the fluid. Between the two types, positive displacement compressors are widely used in small to medium-capacity applications. Positive displacement compressors are further categorized into reciprocating and rotary compressors based on their operating method.
[0003] A reciprocating compressor is a compressor that converts the rotational motion of a motor into the linear reciprocating motion of a piston within a cylinder through a crankshaft and connecting rod to suck in and compress gas.
[0004] Rotary compressors include rotary compressors that suck or compress gas by rotating a roller inside a cylinder by the rotational motion of a motor, and scroll compressors that continuously suck and compress gas by rotating a scroll in a fixed direction around the center of a scroll by the rotational motion of a motor.
[0005] A reciprocating compressor includes a valve plate having an inlet and an outlet through which gas is sucked in and discharged, an inlet valve that opens and closes the inlet, and a discharge valve that opens and closes the outlet. During the compression stroke of the compressor, when the piston reciprocates linearly and opens and closes the valve, the valve plate and the valve directly collide. This collision may apply an impact force to the valve and generate noise.
[0006] Various embodiments of the present disclosure can provide a compressor including a buffer member provided between a suction valve and a valve plate.
[0007] According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, a compressor may include a valve plate having an inlet, a cylinder forming a compression chamber, a piston movable within the compression chamber, a suction valve unit coupled with the valve plate, the suction valve unit having a suction valve movable to open and close the inlet based on movement of the piston, and a buffer member disposed between the valve plate and the suction valve unit on the outside of the inlet, the buffer member being elastically deformed by contact with the suction valve when the suction valve moves to open and close the inlet.
[0008] According to various embodiments of the present disclosure, since a buffer member is provided between the suction valve and the valve plate, when the suction valve opens and closes, the suction valve and the buffer member collide, causing the buffer member to be elastically deformed. At the same time, the buffer member positioned between the suction valve and the valve plate is supported without being detached during the elastic deformation process. In this case, the impact force applied to the suction valve can be reduced by the elastic deformation of the buffer member. Accordingly, damage to the suction valve due to the impact can be prevented, and the valve can be designed to be thinner, thereby improving the compression efficiency of the compressor. In addition, noise generated during the collision due to the elastic deformation of the buffer member can also be reduced.
[0009] The effects that can be achieved by the exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure can be clearly derived and understood by those skilled in the art to which the exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure pertain, from the following description. In other words, unintended effects resulting from the implementation of the exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure can also be derived by those skilled in the art from the exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0034] The operating principle and embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the attached drawings below.
[0035] The compressor (1) described in this document can perform a compression cycle among the four cycles of compression, condensation, expansion, and evaporation of a refrigeration cycle. The compressor (1) can be used in various home appliances such as air conditioners, refrigerators, and freezers having a refrigeration cycle. The examples described below are based on a hermetic reciprocating compressor (1) to help understand the present disclosure, but the present disclosure is not limited thereto, and can be implemented in various modified forms such as a rotary compressor and a scroll compressor.
[0036] Figure 1 is a perspective view of a hermetic reciprocating compressor according to an example.
[0037] Referring to FIG. 1, a compressor (1) according to an example may be a hermetically sealed reciprocating compressor housed in a sealed (e.g., airtight or gastight) state inside a container (2) together with a motor (e.g., motor (10) of FIG. 2) described below. In an example, the container (2) may include an upper container (2a) and a lower container (2b). In an example, the compressor (1) may be sealed from the outside by coupling the upper container (2a) to the lower container (2b) while housed in the lower container (2b).
[0038] Figure 2 is a perspective view of the compressor with the container removed from Figure 1.
[0039] Figure 3 is a cross-sectional view taken along line A-A' of Figure 2.
[0040] Figure 4 is an exploded perspective view of a compressor according to an example.
[0041] Referring to FIGS. 2 to 4, a compressor (1) according to an example may include a motor (10) and a cylinder block (20).
[0042] According to one example, the motor (10) may include a rotor (12), a stator (14), and a rotating shaft (16) coupled to the rotor (12).
[0043] In one example, the rotary shaft (16) may include a central shaft (16a) and an eccentric shaft (16b). In one example, one end of a connecting rod (18) may be coupled to the eccentric shaft (16b). In one example, the other end of the connecting rod (18) may be coupled to a piston (22) inserted into a compression chamber (PS) of a cylinder (21) described later. In one example, the connecting rod (18) may convert the rotational motion of the rotor (12) into a linear reciprocating motion of the piston (22) disposed in the compression chamber (PS) described later.
[0044] According to one example, a cylinder block (20) may include a cylinder (21) having a cylindrical compression chamber (PS) provided therein, a piston (22) inserted so as to reciprocate inside the compression chamber (PS), a valve assembly (23) provided on one side of the cylinder (21), a suction muffler (24) for sucking gas (e.g., refrigerant) from the outside, and a cylinder head (25) forming a discharge space (or discharge chamber) for discharging compressed gas from the cylinder (21).
[0045] In one example, the cylinder block (20) may further include a second gasket (235b) (e.g., a head gasket) disposed between the valve assembly (23) and the cylinder head (25) to seal the discharge space of the cylinder head (25) described below.
[0046] In one example, the cylinder (21) may have a hexahedral shape. In one example, the cylinder (21) may include a cylindrical compression chamber (PS) penetrating the center of the cylinder (21).
[0047] According to one example, the piston (22) may be inserted and placed inside the compression chamber (PS) of the cylinder (21). In one example, the piston (22) may be coupled with the connecting rod (18) at the rear of the cylinder (21). The piston (22) may reciprocate back and forth inside the compression chamber (PS) through the connecting rod (18) when the motor (10) rotates. The volume of the internal space of the compression chamber (PS) may change due to the reciprocating back and forth movement of the piston (22).
[0048] In one example, the valve assembly (23) can be coupled to the outside of the cylinder (21). In one example, the valve assembly (23) can be arranged at the front (e.g., in the +x-axis direction) of the cylinder (21) to cover the compression chamber (PS) of the cylinder (21). In one example, the valve assembly (23) can selectively communicate the compression chamber (PS) of the cylinder (21) with the intake muffler (24) or the compression chamber (PS) with the discharge space of the cylinder head (25).
[0049] According to one example, the valve assembly (23) may include a valve plate (231) including an intake port (2311) through which gas is sucked in and an exhaust port (2312) through which gas is discharged, an intake valve unit (232) that opens and closes the intake port (2311) of the valve plate (231) from the inside of the compression chamber (PS), a discharge valve (233) that opens and closes the exhaust port (2312) from the outside of the compression chamber (PS), a valve keeper (234) arranged to cover the discharge valve (233), and a gasket (235) for preventing gas leakage to the outside.
[0050] According to one example, the intake port (2311) of the valve plate (231) may be communicated with the compression chamber (PS) and / or the intake muffler (24) by the opening and closing operation of the intake valve unit (232) according to the operation of the piston (22). According to one example, the discharge port (2312) of the valve plate (231) may be communicated with the compression chamber (PS) and / or the discharge space of the cylinder head (25) by the opening and closing operation of the discharge valve (233) according to the operation of the piston (22). In one example, the intake port (2311) may be provided to be larger in size than the discharge port (2312).
[0051] In one example, the suction valve unit (232) may be formed of an elastic plate. For example, the suction valve unit (232) may be formed of an elastic plate having a size corresponding to one side (e.g., a side facing the +y-axis direction) of the cylinder (21). In one example, the suction valve unit (232) may be arranged between the cylinder (21) and the valve plate (231). In one example, the suction valve unit (232) may be coupled to an inner surface (231a) of the valve plate (231). Here, the inner surface (231a) of the valve plate (231) may mean one side of the valve plate (231) facing the cylinder (21).
[0052] In one example, the suction valve unit (232) may include a suction valve (2321) arranged to cover the suction port (2311) of the valve plate (231). In one example, the suction valve (2321) may be elastically deformed (e.g., change in shape or form) according to the operation of the piston (22) to open and close the suction port (2311) of the valve plate (231).
[0053] According to one example, the suction valve (2321) may be integrally formed with the plate material constituting the suction valve unit (232) by punching or shearing. However, the present disclosure is not limited thereto, and the suction valve (2321) may be manufactured as a separate component and coupled to the valve plate (231).
[0054] According to an example, the suction valve (2321) may include a suction valve neck (2321a) connected to a plate constituting the suction valve unit (232) and a suction valve head (2321b) integrally extending from the suction valve neck (2321a). For example, the suction valve neck (2321a) may be a fixed end of the suction valve (2321), and the suction valve head (2321b) may correspond to a free end of the suction valve (2321).
[0055] According to an example, a valve hole (2321c) corresponding to the discharge port (2312) of the valve plate (231) may be provided in the suction valve neck (2321a).
[0056] In one example, the discharge valve (233) may be formed of an elastic plate. In one example, the discharge valve (233) may be arranged to cover the discharge port (2312) on the outer surface (231b) of the valve plate (231). In one example, the discharge valve (233) may be elastically deformed (e.g., change in shape or form) according to the operation of the piston (22) to open and close the discharge port (2312) of the valve plate (231).
[0057] According to one example, the discharge valve (233) may include a fixed end (2331) that is fixed to the valve plate (231) by a fastening member (e.g., a bolt) and a free end (2332) that extends integrally from the fixed end (2331). The discharge valve (233) may block (or cover) the discharge port (2312), and when the pressure (or compressive force) of the compression chamber (PS) reaches a predetermined range, the free end (2322) may be elastically deformed (e.g., the shape or form may be changed) to open the discharge port (2312).
[0058] In one example, the valve keeper (234) may be arranged to cover the discharge valve (233). In one example, the valve keeper (234) may include a pair of fixed ends (2341, 2342) positioned at both ends and coupled to the valve plate (231) by fastening members (e.g., bolts), and an inner central portion (2343) formed by bending from each of the fixed ends (2341, 2342) so as to be convex in a direction away from the discharge valve (233) (e.g., in the +y-axis direction).
[0059] According to an example, the valve keeper (234) can prevent excessive deformation of the discharge valve (233) by limiting deformation of the discharge valve (233) beyond a predetermined angle.
[0060] In one example, the gasket (235) can seal a gap between the intake valve unit (23) and components coupled to the intake valve unit (23). In one example, the gasket (235) can include a first gasket (235a) that seals between the cylinder (21) and the intake valve unit (232) and a second gasket (235b) that seals between the cylinder head (25) and the intake valve unit (232).
[0061] In one example, the first gasket (235a) may be disposed between one surface of the cylinder (21) (e.g., a surface facing the -y-axis) and the suction valve unit (232). In one example, the first gasket (235a) may include a gasket hole (2351) corresponding to an opening of a compression chamber (PS) provided in an outward direction (e.g., a +y-axis direction). In one example, the first gasket (235a) may be disposed in a gap (e.g., a space) between the suction valve unit (232) and the cylinder (21) so as to surround the opening of the compression chamber (PS).
[0062] In one example, the second gasket (235b) may be disposed between one surface of the valve plate (231) (e.g., the surface facing the +y axis) and the cylinder head (25). In one example, the second gasket (235b) may be interposed in a gap between the valve plate (231) and the cylinder head (25) along an edge of the valve plate (231) to surround the intake port (2311) and / or the exhaust port (2312) of the valve plate (231).
[0063] When the compressor (1) is in operation, gas can be prevented from leaking out of the suction muffler (24) and / or cylinder head (25) by the gaskets (235a, 235b).
[0064] According to one example, the suction muffler (24) includes a suction chamber (241) for reducing noise generated during the suction or suction process of gas, and a gas suction pipe (242) for guiding gas passing through the suction chamber (241) to the suction port (2311) of the valve plate (231). According to one example, the suction chamber (241) may include a plurality of expansion portions (not shown) therein and a connecting passage (not shown) that narrowly connects the plurality of expansion portions.
[0065] According to an example, the cylinder head (25) may be coupled to a valve plate (231) with a predetermined space (e.g., discharge space) therein. The cylinder head (25) may include an exhaust muffler (not shown) for noise reduction within the discharge space.
[0066] Although not specifically illustrated in the drawing, the compression stroke of the compressor (1) will be described. When the piston (22) retracts (e.g., moves in the -y-axis direction) within the cylinder (21) during the compression stroke, the suction valve unit (232) (specifically, the suction valve (2321)), which faces the inner surface (231a) of the valve plate (231) and blocks the suction port (2321), is elastically deformed (e.g., changes in shape or form) by the suction force, so that the suction port (2311) can be opened. As a result, gas is sucked through the suction port (2311) and fills (or occupies) the compression chamber (PS). At this time, the discharge valve (233), which faces the outer surface (231b) of the valve plate (231) and blocks the discharge port (2312), can seal the discharge port (2312) by the discharge pressure.
[0067] In addition, when the piston (22) moves forward (e.g., moves in the +y-axis direction) within the cylinder (21) during the compression stroke, the gas in the compression chamber (PS) can be compressed. By this compressive force, the discharge valve (233) located on the outer surface (231b) of the valve plate (231) and blocking the discharge port (2312) can be elastically deformed and opened. As a result, the gas is discharged into the discharge space of the cylinder head (25) through the discharge port (2312). At this time, the suction valve unit (232) blocking the suction port (2312) can seal the suction port (2311) by the compressive force. By the forward / backward movement of the piston (22), the gas can be compressed / inhaled within the compression chamber (PS).
[0068] Fig. 5 is a perspective view showing a valve plate, a suction valve unit, and a gasket sequentially arranged in a valve assembly according to an example.
[0069] Figure 6 is a drawing for explaining a fixing structure of a buffer member according to an example.
[0070] Figure 6 (a) is a partial enlarged view of the valve assembly (23) with the suction valve unit (232) removed, and Figure 6 (b) is a partial enlarged view of the valve assembly (23) with the suction valve (2321) of the suction valve unit (232) removed.
[0071] Referring to FIGS. 5 and 6, a valve plate (231) according to an example is provided on an inner surface (231a) and may include a receiving portion (2313) for receiving a buffer member (236) described later.
[0072] According to one example, the receiving portion (2313) may be formed by being recessed to a predetermined depth from the inner surface (231a) of the valve plate (231). In one example, the receiving portion (2313) may be formed to extend in a vertical direction (e.g., in the ±z-axis direction) to a predetermined length (L1). In one example, the extension length (L1) of the receiving portion (2313) may be designed to be longer than the total length (L2) of the buffer member (236). For example, the length (L1) of the receiving portion (2313) may be designed in consideration of the stretching range of the buffer member (236) according to the opening and closing operation of the suction valve (2321).
[0073] In one example, the receiving portion (2313) may be located between the intake port (2311) and the discharge port (2312) of the valve plate (231).
[0074] According to one example, the valve assembly (23) may include a buffer member (236) that reduces the impact force transmitted to the suction valve (2321) when the suction valve (2321) opens and closes according to the operation of the piston (22).
[0075] According to one example, the buffer member (236) collides with the suction valve (2321) when the suction valve (2321) is elastically deformed (e.g., changes in shape or form) by the operation of the piston (22) and then restored, and as the shock force received by the suction valve (2321) is elastically deformed by the collision, the shock force received by the suction valve (2321) can be reduced. In addition, as the shock force received by the suction valve (2321) is reduced, the noise generated during the collision can also be reduced. Accordingly, when the shock force received by the suction valve (2321) is reduced, the suction valve (2321) can be designed to be thinner, which can improve the compression efficiency of the compressor (1).
[0076] In one example, the buffer member (236) may be disposed between the valve plate (231) and the suction valve unit (232). In one example, the buffer member (236) may be disposed on the inner surface (231a) of the valve plate (231) by being received in the receiving portion (2313) of the valve plate (231). In one example, the buffer member (236) may be disposed on the outer side of the suction port (2311) and the discharge port (2312) on the inner surface (231a) of the valve plate (231). In one example, the buffer member (236) may be located between the suction port (2311) and the discharge port (2312) of the valve plate (231).
[0077] In one example, the buffer member (236) may be implemented in the form of a plate spring (e.g., a semi-elliptical spring or an elliptical spring), but the present disclosure is not limited thereto. In one example, the buffer member (236) may be formed of an elastic plate material, such as the suction valve unit (232).
[0078] According to one example, the buffer member (236) may include one end (2361) and the other end (2362) in the form of a flat portion, and an impact portion (2363) that connects the one end (2361) and the other end (2362) and is convexly bent toward the suction valve unit (232). The impact portion (2363) may also be referred to as a bending portion. In one example, the impact portion (2363) of the buffer member (236) may form a gap with the bottom surface of the receiving portion (2313) when the receiving portion (2313) is received.
[0079] In one example, the impact portion (2363) of the buffer member (236) may be elastically deformed toward the receiving portion (2313) when colliding with the suction valve (2321) during the opening and closing operation of the suction valve (2321). At the same time, both ends (2361, 2362) of the buffer member (236) may be stretched (e.g., extended) into the empty space between the buffer member (236) and the receiving portion (2313) within the receiving portion (2313).
[0080] According to one example, the buffer member (236) can be prevented from being dislodged outside the receiving portion (2313) when the suction valve (2321) is opened and closed by having both ends (2361, 2362) interposed between the valve plate (231) and the suction valve unit (232) within the receiving portion (2313). As illustrated in (b) of FIG. 6, when the valve plate (231) and the suction valve unit (232) are coupled, at least a portion of the both ends (2361, 2362) of the suction valve unit (232) and the buffer member (236) overlap, so that the buffer member (236) can be fixedly disposed inside the receiving portion (2313). However, the fixing structure of the buffer member (236) is not limited thereto.
[0081] According to some examples, one end or the other end of the buffer member (236) may be bent inward toward the receiving portion (2313), unlike as illustrated in FIG. 6, and the receiving portion (2313) may include a fixing groove (not illustrated) into which one end or the other end of the buffer member (236) bent inwardly is fitted / inserted and fixed. In this case, the buffer member (236) may reduce the impact force applied to the suction valve (2321) as the one end or the other end that is not fixed to the fixing groove is extended during the opening / closing operation of the suction valve (2321).
[0082] Fig. 7 is a drawing for explaining a fixing structure of a buffer member according to an example.
[0083] Figure 7 (a) is a partial enlarged view of the valve assembly (23') with the suction valve unit (232) removed, and Figure 7 (b) is a partial enlarged view of the valve assembly (23') with the suction valve (2321) of the suction valve unit (232) removed.
[0084] Referring to FIG. 7, a valve plate (231') according to an example may surround an intake port (2311) and include a receiving portion (2314) in which a buffer member (237) described below is received. According to an example, the receiving portion (2314) may be formed by being recessed to a predetermined depth so as to receive the buffer member (237).
[0085] According to one example, the receiving portion (2314) may include a main receiving groove (2314a) extending along the periphery of the suction port (2311) and a plurality of sub-receiving grooves (2314b, 2314c) extending outward from the main receiving groove (2314a).
[0086] In one example, the main receiving home (2314a) may have a ring shape.
[0087] In one example, the extension length of each of the sub-receiving grooves (2314b) may be designed to be longer than the two ends (237a, 237b) of the buffer member (237) accommodated in the receiving portion (2314). For example, the extension length of the sub-receiving groove (2314b) may be designed in consideration of the stretching range of the buffer member (237) according to the opening and closing operation of the suction valve (2321).
[0088] According to one example, the valve assembly (23) may include a buffer member (237) configured to reduce the impact force transmitted to the suction valve (2321) when the suction valve (2321) is opened and closed according to the operation of the piston (22).
[0089] In one example, the buffer member (237) may be implemented in the form of a wave spring, unlike the buffer member (236) illustrated in FIG. 6. In another example, the buffer member (237) may have a free-curve shape such that its shape can be changed by an external force. For example, the buffer member (237) may have a wave shape whose height varies along the longitudinal direction.
[0090] In one example, the buffer member (237) may be accommodated within the receiving portion (2314) and positioned adjacent to the suction port (2311). In one example, the buffer member (237) may be accommodated within the receiving portion (2314) and positioned to surround at least a portion of the suction port (2311).
[0091] In one example, each of the two ends (237a, 237b) of the buffer member (237) can be accommodated in a corresponding sub-accommodating groove (2314b, 2314c).
[0092] According to one example, the buffer member (237) may be elastically deformed (e.g., change in shape or form) along the extension direction of the receiving portion (2313) when colliding with the suction valve (2321) during the opening and closing operation of the suction valve (2321). The two ends (237a, 237b) of the buffer member (237) may be stretched (e.g., extended) into the empty space between the buffer member (237) and the sub-receiving grooves (2314a, 2314b) within the receiving portion (2314).
[0093] According to one example, the buffer member (237) can be prevented from being dislodged outside the receiving portion (2314) when the suction valve (2321) is opened and closed by having both ends (237a, 237b) disposed within the sub-receiving grooves (2314b, 2314c) between the valve plate (231') and the suction valve unit (232). As illustrated in (b) of FIG. 7, when the valve plate (231') and the suction valve unit (232) are coupled, at least a portion of the both ends (237a, 237b) of the suction valve unit (232) and the buffer member (237) overlap, so that the buffer member (237) can be fixedly disposed inside the receiving portion (2314).
[0094] Fig. 8 is a drawing for explaining a fixing structure of a buffer member composed of multiple segments.
[0095] Referring to FIG. 8, a buffer member (237') according to an example may be composed of a plurality of separate segments (237-1, 237-2), unlike the buffer member (237) illustrated in FIG. 7. For example, the buffer member (237') may include a first segment (237-1) and a second segment (237-2). However, the number of segments in the present disclosure is not limited thereto. Each of the segments (237-1, 237-2) may be composed of a length corresponding to approximately half of the total length of the buffer member (237) of FIG. 7.
[0096] According to one example, the valve plate (231") may include a receiving portion (2314') having substantially the same structure as the receiving portion (2314) illustrated in FIG. 7 described above.
[0097] In one example, the receiving portion (2314') may include a main receiving groove (2314a) and a plurality of sub-receiving grooves (2314b, 2314c, 2314d). Compared to the receiving portion (2314) of FIG. 7, the receiving portion (2314') of FIG. 8 may further include an additional number of sub-receiving grooves (2314d) to accommodate separate segments (237-1, 237-2).
[0098] In one example, a plurality of sub-receiving grooves (2314b, 2314c, 2314d) may be arranged at positions that take into account the lengths of the segments (237-1, 237-2) accommodated within the receiving portion (2314') when accommodating the buffer member (237'). For example, when the lengths of the segments (237-1, 237-2) are the same, the plurality of sub-receiving grooves (2314b, 2314c, 2314d) may be arranged at equal intervals along the main receiving groove (2314a).
[0099] Figure 9 is a perspective view showing the suction valve unit and valve plate separated, according to an example.
