Abstract
Description
Electronic device, method and non-transitory storage medium for wireless charging supporting multiple frequencies
[0001] The present disclosure relates to an electronic device and method for wireless charging supporting multiple frequencies.
[0002] As wireless charging technology advances, research is being conducted on methods for supplying power to multiple electronic devices from a single charging device. This wireless charging technology utilizes wireless power transmission and reception. For example, it allows electronic devices to automatically charge their batteries simply by placing them on a charging pad, without the need for a separate charging connector.
[0003] Wireless charging technologies include electromagnetic induction, resonance, and RF / microwave radiation, which converts electrical energy into microwaves and transmits it.
[0004] Wireless power transfer involves transferring power between a first coil at the transmitter and a second coil at the receiver. The transmitter generates a magnetic field, and changes in the magnetic field at the receiver induce or resonate current, generating energy.
[0005] Wireless power transmission technology using electromagnetic induction is a method of transmitting power using an electromagnetic field induced in a coil. An external electronic device generates an electromagnetic field by applying current to the coil, and the generated electromagnetic field forms an induced electromotive force in the coil of the electronic device, thereby allowing power to be transmitted wirelessly.
[0006] Qi-based wireless charging operates within a limited frequency range of 110 kHz to 145 kHz. In addition to the 110-145 kHz operating frequency, higher frequencies (e.g., 350 kHz) may be used. While the resonant capacitor is tuned to the Qi wireless charging operating frequency, operating at a higher frequency (e.g., 350 kHz) may reduce wireless charging efficiency. To address this, additional circuitry may be required in the Rx section to allow for frequency-dependent switching of the resonant capacitor to support both the 110-145 kHz and 350 kHz bands.
[0007] To support multiple operating frequencies, a circuit that changes the resonant capacitor using a switch is required, which increases the printed circuit board (PCB) area and material cost. In particular, when the power of wireless charging is high, a MOSFET (metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistor) with a large BV may be required because the voltage applied to the capacitor is large. However, in electronic devices where PCB area is critical (e.g., the size of the PCB area and / or the amount of free space in the PCB area are limited), a circuit that changes the resonant capacitor may be difficult to use.
[0008] The present disclosure provides an electronic device, method, and non-transitory storage medium for efficiently performing wireless charging when an operating frequency is changed by utilizing a switching operation of a rectifier circuit without including an additional circuit for changing a resonant capacitor in a resonant circuit for receiving wireless power, and without changing the resonant capacitor.
[0009] According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, an electronic device may include a coil configured to wirelessly receive power from an external electronic device, a resonant circuit including a first capacitor, a rectifier circuit connected to the resonant circuit, a communication circuit, and a control circuit electrically connected to the rectifier circuit, the resonant circuit, and the communication circuit.
[0010] According to one embodiment, the rectifier circuit includes a plurality of switches (e.g., S1, S2, S3, S4), a plurality of switch driver circuits each electrically connected to one of the plurality of switches, and at least two of the plurality of switch driver circuits may include at least one delay unit.
[0011] According to one embodiment, the control circuit may be configured to determine the first operating frequency based on information related to the operating frequency received from the external electronic device.
[0012] According to one embodiment, the control circuit may be configured to control the driving of the at least one delay based on the first operating frequency, and to adjust the switching timing of at least two switches among the plurality of switches by a designated delay value of the at least one delay.
[0013] According to one embodiment, the control circuit may be configured to control the switching operation of the plurality of switches without operating the at least one delay unit based on determining that the operating frequency has not changed.
[0014] According to one embodiment, a method of operating in an electronic device may include an operation of identifying a first operating frequency based on information related to an operating frequency received from an external electronic device.
[0015] Based on the first operating frequency, the method may include driving at least one delay circuit included in the rectifier circuit of the electronic device.
[0016] According to one embodiment, the method may include adjusting the switching timing of at least two of the plurality of switches included in the rectifier circuit by a delay value of the at least one delay unit.
[0017] According to one embodiment, the method may include an operation of performing switching of the plurality of switches based on the adjusted switching timing.
[0018] In one embodiment, each of the plurality of switches may be electrically connected to one of the plurality of switch driver circuits included in the rectifier circuit. In one embodiment, at least two of the plurality of switch driver circuits may be electrically connected to the at least one delay unit.
[0019] According to one embodiment, a non-transitory storage medium storing a program may include instructions that, when executed by a processor of an electronic device, cause the electronic device to perform an operation of confirming a first operating frequency based on information related to an operating frequency received from an external electronic device, an operation of operating at least one delay unit included in a rectifier circuit of the electronic device based on the first operating frequency, an operation of adjusting a switching timing of at least two switches among a plurality of switches included in the rectifier circuit with a designated delay value, and an operation of performing switching of the plurality of switches based on the adjusted switching timing. According to one embodiment, each of the plurality of switches may be electrically connected to one of the plurality of switch driver circuits included in the rectifier circuit, and at least two of the plurality of switch driver circuits may include the at least one delay unit.

For example, when a full bridge circuit is formed, one end of a coil (213) can be connected to a connection point between the switches (Q1, Q2) via a capacitor (212), and the other end of the coil (213) can be connected to a connection point between the switches (Q3, Q4). The plurality of switches (Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4) can be controlled to be in an on state or an off state. For example, in order to generate AC power, the controller (215) can control the first switch (Q1) and the third switch (Q3) to be in an on state during a first period while controlling the second switch (Q2) and the fourth switch (Q4) to be in an off state, and can control the first switch (Q1) and the third switch (Q3) to be in an off state during a second period while controlling the second switch (Q2) and the fourth switch (Q4) to be in an on state, and can repeatedly perform the above-described control operations. The controller (215) can provide control signals (Q1_DRV, Q2_DRV, Q3_DRV, Q4_DRV) for generating the above-described AC power to the plurality of switches (Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4). Here, not only outputting the control signal but also refraining from outputting the control signal can be referred to as control of the controller (215). That is, outputting a control signal is an example of an operation of the controller (215), and not outputting a control signal (e.g., maintaining output, not outputting, etc.) is also an example of an operation of the controller (215).For example, the controller (215) outputting a first control signal for generating AC power having a first frequency to the inverter (218) may mean that the controller (215) outputs a control signal (Q1_DRV, Q3_DRV) for controlling the switches (Q1, Q3) to be on for a first period corresponding to the first frequency, and then outputs a control signal control signal (Q2_DRV, Q4_DRV) for controlling the switches (Q2, Q4) to be on for a second period corresponding to the first frequency, and repeats the above-described output operations. Meanwhile, the controller (215) outputting a second control signal for generating AC power having a second frequency to the inverter (218) may mean that the controller (215) outputs a control signal (Q1_DRV, Q3_DRV) for controlling the switches (Q1, Q3) to be in an on state for a first period corresponding to the second frequency, and then outputs a control signal (Q2_DRV, Q4_DRV) for controlling the switches (Q2, Q4) to be in an on state for a second period corresponding to the second frequency, and repeats the above-described output operations. In this case, the first period and the second period corresponding to the second frequency may be different from the first period and the second period corresponding to the first frequency. At least one of the DC / DC converter (217) or the inverter (218) may be referred to as a power supply circuit. The controller (215) can control a power supply circuit (e.g., at least one of a DC / DC converter (217) or an inverter (218)) so that power is applied to the coil (213).
[0057] According to one embodiment, an AC power generated by an inverter (218) may be applied to a coil (213). The inverter (212) may form a resonant circuit with the coil (213). The coil (213) may form a magnetic field based on the applied AC power. A portion of the magnetic field (or magnetic flux) formed by the coil (213) may pass through a cross-section of the coil (221) of the electronic device (101). As the magnetic field passing through the cross-section of the coil (221) changes over time, an induced electromotive force (e.g., current, voltage, or power) may be generated in the coil (221).
[0058] According to one embodiment, the demodulation circuit (214) can demodulate a signal applied to the coil (213) (e.g., a voltage (219) applied to both ends of the coil (213)) and output a demodulated signal (Vdemod). The demodulation circuit (214) can output the demodulated signal (Vdemod) by, for example, down-converting the signal applied to the coil (e.g., the voltage (219) at both ends) by the frequency of the AC power (e.g., 100 to 210 kHz). For example, the demodulation circuit (214) can include a mixer and / or multiplier circuit for removing a carrier component for wireless power transmission (e.g., a frequency of the AC power of 100 to 210 kHz). Here, since a waveform in which a component by modulation of the electronic device (101) and an AC power component by the external electronic device (201) are mixed can be applied to both ends of the coil (213) of the external electronic device (201), the frequency component of the AC power (e.g., 100 to 210 kHz) is named a carrier component accordingly, and those skilled in the art will understand that the electronic device (101) does not actually generate an electromagnetic wave in which modulated data is mixed with a carrier wave. Accordingly, the carrier component (e.g., 100 to 210 kHz, which is the frequency of the AC power) can be removed from the voltage (219) across both ends of the coil (213). The demodulation circuit (214) may additionally filter (low-pass filter) the demodulation signal (Vdemod) and output it. The demodulation circuit (214) may include a low-pass filter. Alternatively, the demodulation circuit (214) may generate a demodulation signal (Vdemod) by filtering the voltage (219) across the coil (213) and then downconverting it by the frequency of the AC power (e.g., 100 to 210 kHz). The amplitude of the voltage (219) across the coil (213) may be changed according to the ASK modulation of the electronic device (101).According to one embodiment, the controller (215) can check the information provided by the electronic device (101) based on the demodulation signal (Vdemod) output by the demodulation circuit (214). The controller (215) can, for example, perform analog-to-digital converting (ADC) on the demodulation signal (Vdemod). The controller (215) can decode the digital value obtained as the ADC result, and check the information provided by the electronic device (101) according to the decoding result. The decoding method may be based on the Qi standard, for example, but those skilled in the art will understand that there is no limitation thereto. Meanwhile, in the above-described embodiment, it has been described that the demodulation circuit (214) performs frequency downconversion (e.g., carrier wave removal) and / or low-pass filtering, and the controller (215) performs ADC and / or decoding, but this is merely exemplary. Those skilled in the art will appreciate that the demodulation circuit (214) may be implemented to further perform at least one of ADC or decoding, and that the controller (215) may be implemented to further perform frequency downconversion (e.g., carrier rejection) and / or low-pass filtering.
[0059] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may include at least one of a coil (221), a capacitor (e.g., a first capacitor) (222), a capacitor (e.g., a second capacitor) (223), a rectifier circuit (255), a controller (250), a plurality of capacitors (261, 262, 263, 264) (the number of capacitors shown in FIG. 2A should not be considered limiting), a plurality of switches (231, 232, 233, 234) (the number of switches shown in FIG. 2A should not be considered limiting), a capacitor (241), a regulator (242), a capacitor (243), or a charger (244).
[0060] According to one embodiment, the coil (221), the capacitor (222), and the capacitor (223) may form a resonant circuit. One end of the capacitor (222) may be connected to the coil (221), and the other end of the capacitor (222) may be connected to one end of the capacitor (223) and one end of the rectifier circuit (255). One end of the capacitor (223) may be connected to the other end of the capacitor (222), and the other end of the capacitor (223) may be connected to the other end of the coil (221). In other words, the capacitor (223) may be connected in parallel to a circuit formed by connecting the coil (221) and the capacitor (222) in series. The other end of the capacitor (223) may be connected to the other end of the rectifier circuit (255).
[0061] According to one embodiment, the rectifier circuit (255) can convert AC power received through the coil (221) into DC power. The controller (250) (e.g., control circuit) can control the on / off states of a plurality of switches (S1, S2, S3, S4) so that the AC power can be converted into DC power.
[0062] According to one embodiment, a capacitor (241) and a regulator (242) may be connected to the rectifier circuit (255). One end of the capacitor (241) may be grounded. The regulator (242) may perform voltage conversion (e.g., buck converting and / or boost converting) and / or regulating of the voltage of rectified power output from the power conversion circuit.
[0063] In one embodiment, the charger (244) (e.g., charging circuit and / or power management circuit) can charge a battery (not shown) using power converted and / or regulated by the regulator (242). In one embodiment, the charger (244) can control the voltage and / or current for charging the battery depending on the charging mode of the battery (e.g., constant current (CC) mode, constant voltage (CV) mode, or rapid charge mode). Depending on the implementation, a PMIC (not shown) may be connected to the regulator (242) instead of the charger (244).
[0064] According to one embodiment, the controller (250) can perform modulation in response to information to be provided. The controller (250) can determine which capacitor among the plurality of capacitors (261, 262, 263, 264) will perform modulation. Depending on the capacitor to perform modulation, the difference in amplitude of the voltage (219) sensed by the external electronic device (201) can change. For example, when modulation is performed using only one capacitor (261), it is assumed that the difference in amplitude of the voltage (219) sensed by the external electronic device (201) (e.g., the difference between the maximum amplitude of the voltage (219) while the switch (231) is on and the maximum amplitude of the voltage (219) while the switch (231) is off) is a first value. In this case, since the capacitors (262, 263, 264) are not used for modulation, the switches (232, 233, 234) can be maintained in the off state. Meanwhile, when modulation is performed with the capacitors (261) and (262), the difference in the amplitude of the voltage (219) sensed by the external electronic device (201) (for example, the difference between the maximum amplitude of the voltage (219) while the switches (231, 232) are in the on state and the maximum amplitude of the voltage (219) while the switches (231, 232) are in the off state) may be a second value, which may be greater than the first value. In this case, since the capacitors (263, 264) are not used for modulation, the switches (233, 234) can be maintained in the off state. The electronic device (101) can adjust the modulation degree (or modulation depth) by adjusting a capacitor among a plurality of capacitors (261, 262, 263, 264) to perform modulation. As described above, the controller (250) can output and / or refrain from outputting at least some of the control signals (CMA1, CMA2, CMB1, CMB2) so that the switches corresponding to the non-determined capacitors are kept in an off state while performing modulation using the determined capacitors.Meanwhile, for example, the capacitance of the capacitor (262) may be smaller than the capacitance of the capacitor (261), and the capacitance of the capacitor (264) may be smaller than the capacitance of the capacitor (263), but this is a simple example and there is no limitation on the size of the capacitance, and they may be the same.
[0065] The controller (215) described in the above-described FIG. 2b may be referred to as a control circuit and may be an MCU (micro controlling unit), an FPGA (field programmable gate array), an ASIC (application specific integrated circuit), at least one processor, or an AP (application processor). The controller (250) may be referred to as a control circuit and may be an MCU (micro controlling unit), an FPGA (field programmable gate array), an ASIC (application specific integrated circuit), at least one processor, or an AP (application processor).
[0066] FIG. 3 is a diagram illustrating an example configuration of an electronic device according to one embodiment.
[0067] Referring to FIGS. 2A, 2B, and 3, an electronic device (101) according to one embodiment (e.g., the electronic device (101) of FIGS. 1 and 2A) may be configured to support multiple operating frequencies (e.g., a first operating frequency (e.g., an operating frequency in a 350 kHz band) and a second operating frequency (e.g., an operating frequency in a 110 to 145 kHz band)), and may include a coil (221) that wirelessly receives power from a wireless charging transmitter (201) (e.g., the electronic device (201) of FIG. 2A), a resonant circuit including a first capacitor (222) and a second capacitor (223), a rectifier circuit (255) connected to the resonant circuit, a communication circuit (e.g., the communication circuit (190) of FIG. 1), and a control circuit (e.g., the processor (120) of FIG. 1) electrically connected to the rectifier circuit (255), the resonant circuit, and the communication circuit. In various embodiments, the rectifier circuit (255) and its control are considered without explicit reference to other components of the electronic device. For example, the presence of a control circuit and a circuit for wirelessly receiving power is implicit.
[0068] According to one embodiment, the rectifier circuit (255) may include a plurality of switches (S1, S2, S3, S4) (e.g., four diodes or transistors) forming a full bridge circuit and a plurality of switch driver circuits electrically connected to each of the plurality of switches. One end of the resonant circuit may be connected to a connection point between the switches (S1, S2), and the other end of the resonant circuit may be connected to a connection point between the switches (S3, S4). The rectifier circuit (255) may rectify (e.g., convert to direct current (DC)) wireless power (e.g., alternating current (AC) power) received from the coil (221) and apply the rectified power to a charger (e.g., a charger (244) of FIG. 2B, a charging circuit, and / or a power management circuit) through a regulator (e.g., a main LDO) (242).
[0069] According to one embodiment, the rectifier circuit (255) may have an input terminal connected in parallel with a second capacitor (e.g., Cd) (223), a controller (250) may be connected to the input terminal, and a regulator (242) may be connected to the output terminal. According to one embodiment, the second capacitor (223) may have one end connected to the first capacitor (222) (e.g., a resonant capacitor (Cs)). According to one embodiment, the first capacitor (222) may have one end connected to the coil (221) and the other end connected to the second capacitor (233). Without being limited thereto, the rectifier circuit (255) may be named a 'rectifier circuit' by separately forming a plurality of switch driver circuits included in the rectifier circuit (255) and including a plurality of switches (S1, S2, S3, S4). Here, it may be referred to as a 'receiver integrated circuit (e.g., RX IC)' including a rectifier circuit (255) and a regulator (242).
[0070] According to one embodiment, the plurality of switch driver circuits may include a first switch driver circuit (310), a second switch driver circuit (320), a third switch driver circuit (330), and a fourth switch driver circuit (340). For example, the first switch driver circuit (310) may be connected to a first switch (S1), the second switch driver (320) may be connected to a second switch (S2), the third switch driver (330) may be connected to a third switch (S3), and the fourth switch driver (340) may be connected to a fourth switch (S4).
[0071] According to one embodiment, the first switch driver circuit (310) may include a first switch driver (311), a diode (312), and a capacitor (313) having one end (e.g., an input end) connected to a coil (221) and a + terminal (e.g., a P terminal) of a second capacitor (223), and the other end (e.g., an output end) connected to a first switch (S1). The first switch driver circuit (310) may be applied with a first voltage (e.g., Vac, p) to one end, and may output an enable signal to the first switch (S1) connected to the other end based on a designated delay value (e.g., an output voltage (Vcp, n) of the second delay unit (343)). The first switch driver (311) may be applied with a third voltage (Vcp, n) (e.g., an output voltage of the second delay unit (343)) to one end.
[0072] According to one embodiment, the second switch driver circuit (320) may include a second switch driver (321), a diode (322), and a capacitor (323) having one end connected to a - terminal (e.g., an n terminal) of a coil (221) and a second capacitor (223), and the other end connected to a second switch (S2). The second switch driver circuit (320) may output an enable signal to the second switch (S2) connected to the other end based on a second voltage being applied to one end thereof, and a designated delay value (e.g., an output voltage (Vcp, p) of the first delay unit (333)). The second switch driver (311) may be applied with a fourth voltage (Vcp, p) (e.g., an output voltage of the first delay unit (333)).
[0073] According to one embodiment, the third switch driver circuit (330) is connected to one end of the + terminal (e.g., the P terminal) of the coil (221) and the second capacitor (223) (not shown in FIG. 3), and the other end is connected to the third switch (S3), and may include the third switch driver (331), the first delay unit (333), or the first comparator (335). The first delay unit (333) may be located between the third switch driver (331) and the first comparator (335). The third switch driver circuit (330) may output an enable signal to the third switch (S3) by the third switch driver (331) after delaying for a set delay time based on a delay value (Vcp, p) designated by the first delay unit (333) based on the first voltage being applied to one end thereof. The output voltage (Vcp, p) of the first delay unit (333) can be applied to the second switch driver (321). One end of the first comparator (335) can be connected to the + terminal (e.g., P terminal) of the coil (221) and the second capacitor (223), and the other end can be connected to ground. According to one embodiment, by performing a switching operation after a predetermined time delay (e.g., switching delay) based on the delay value output by the first delay unit (333), an effect similar to that obtained when, for example, a capacitor and a resistor (R) are connected in series in an equivalent circuit can be obtained.
[0074] According to one embodiment, the fourth switch driver circuit (340) may have one end connected to both ends of a second capacitor (223) (not shown in FIG. 3) and the other end connected to a fourth switch (S4), and may include a fourth switch driver (341), a second delay unit (343), and a second comparator (345). The second delay unit (343) may be configured between the fourth switch driver (341) and the second comparator (345). The fourth switch driver circuit (340) may output an enable signal to the fourth switch (S4) after delaying for a delay time corresponding to a delay value specified by the second delay unit (343) based on the second voltage being applied to one end thereof. The output voltage (Vcp,n) of the second delay unit (343) may be applied to the first switch driver (311). One end of the second comparator (345) may be connected to the - terminal (e.g., n terminal) of the coil (221) and the second capacitor (223), and the other end may be connected to ground. According to one embodiment, by performing a switching operation after a predetermined time delay (e.g., switching delay) based on the delay value output by the second delayer (343), an effect similar to that obtained when, for example, a capacitor and a resistor (R) are connected in series in an equivalent circuit may be obtained.
[0075] According to one embodiment, a plurality of switches (S1, S2, S3, S4) may be formed as a full bridge circuit. One end of the first switch (S1) and one end of the second switch (S2) may be connected to a regulator (242), one end of the third switch (S3) may be connected to the other end of the first switch (S1), and one end of the fourth switch (S4) may be connected to the other end of the second switch (S2). The other end of the third switch (S3) and the other end of the fourth switch (S4) may be connected to ground. The other end of the first switch (S1) and one end of the third switch (S3) can be connected to one end of the first capacitor (222) (Cs) and the second capacitor (223) (Cd), and one end of the fourth switch (S4) and the other end of the second switch (S2) can be connected to the other end of the coil (221) and the other end of the second capacitor (223) (Cd).
[0076] In one embodiment, the controller (250) (e.g., control circuit) may receive information related to an operating frequency received via the communication circuit (190) (or obtain information related to an operating frequency, such as via a memory of the electronic device 101 or from an external source other than the external electronic device 201), and identify (e.g., detect, verify, etc.) the operating frequency based on the information related to the operating frequency. In one embodiment, the controller (250) may detect the operating frequency based on a voltage (Vac) of a signal induced in the coil (221). In various examples, more generally, the controller (250) identifies the operating frequency or an indication thereof. The control circuit (250) controls at least one delay unit (e.g., the first delay unit (333) and / or the second delay unit (343)) to operate based on the identified operating frequency, and can adjust (e.g., modify, change, set, control, etc.) the switching timing of at least two switches (e.g., the third switch (S3) or / and the fourth switch (S4)) respectively connected to at least two switch driver circuits with the designated delay value of the delay unit. In various examples, the controller (250) detects whether the operating frequency is the first operating frequency (e.g., whether there is, etc.), and adjusts the switching timing with the delay value of the delay. And / or, if the operating frequency is the second operating frequency, the controller (250) performs switching without driving the delay (or controls the switching operation of the switch).
[0077] According to one embodiment, the controller (250) can control to turn on the first switch (S1) and the fourth switch (S4) for a first period of time and turn off the second switch (S2) and the third switch (S3) based on the output of an enable signal from the first switch driver circuit (310) and the fourth switch driver circuit (340) after delaying for a predetermined period of time based on the delay value output by the second delay unit (343) included in the fourth switch driver circuit (340).
[0078] According to one embodiment, the controller (250) can control to turn on the second switch (S2) and the third switch (S3) for a second period and turn off the first switch (S1) and the fourth switch (S4) based on the output of an enable signal from the second switch driver circuit (320) and the third switch driver circuit (330) after a predetermined period of delay based on the delay value output by the first delay unit (333) included in the third switch driver circuit (330).
[0079] In one embodiment, the regulator (242) may convert the rectified voltage (VRECT) from the rectifier circuit (255) into a specific direct current (DC) voltage and transmit power to the charger. The regulator (240) may be configured to be electrically connected to the rectifier circuit (255) and the controller (250).
[0080] FIG. 4 is a diagram for comparing an operating waveform of an electronic device according to one embodiment and a conventional operating waveform.
[0081] Referring to FIGS. 2A, 2B, and 4, the operating waveforms (420) may be output with a delay from time t1 to time t2 in comparison with the existing comparative operating waveforms (410) due to the switching operation of the rectifier circuit (255) of the electronic device (101) according to one embodiment, in which the current (RX coil current) and / or voltages (e.g., Vcp, n, Vac, n, and Vac, p) are output. Accordingly, a phase difference occurs between the current and the input terminal (AC terminal) voltage, which can have the same effect as reducing the resonant capacitor value.
[0082] An electronic device (101) according to one embodiment does not include an additional circuit for changing a resonant capacitor in a resonant circuit, and can efficiently perform wireless charging when the operating frequency is changed by utilizing a switching operation of a rectifier circuit (255) without changing the resonant capacitor.
[0083] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) exhibits an effect such as reducing the resonant capacitor value due to the phase difference between the current and the input terminal (AC terminal) voltage through a switching operation in the rectifier circuit (255), so that the electronic device (101) of the present disclosure can increase efficiency according to the operating frequency (e.g., switching frequency).
[0084] Case 1, Case 2, Case 3, Switching frequency 145kHz, 350kHz, 350kHz, 350kHz, 147nF, 147nF, 27nF, 147nFProg. Delay 0s, 0s, 150ns, Simulation efficiency 77.23%, 75.91%, 82.65%, 79.77%
[0085] As shown in the above , in the comparative cases (case 1, case 2, case 3), when the switching frequency is changed from, for example, 145 kHz to 350 kHz, and the value of the first capacitor (222) (Cs) is changed from, for example, 147 nF to 27 nF, and there is no delay (for example, the delay time is 0 s), it can be seen that the simulation efficiency increases to, for example, approximately 82.65%. In comparison, according to one embodiment of the present disclosure (case of the present disclosure), when the electronic device (101) supports both the first operating frequency (for example, 350 kHz) and the second operating frequency (for example, 110 kHz to 145 kHz) and the switching frequency is changed to, for example, 350 kHz, the delay unit operates to delay the switching operation by a specified delay value (prog. delay) (for example, 150 ns), so that the simulation efficiency increases to, for example, approximately 79.77%. Not limited thereto, the above is an example confirmed through experiments, and the simulation efficiency may be calculated as a different value depending on the device characteristics (e.g., type or performance). For example, if the electronic device (101) uses only the first operating frequency (e.g., 350 kHz), the delay unit may always be operated in an on state.
[0086] According to one embodiment, an electronic device (e.g., an electronic device (101) of FIG. 1, an electronic device (101) of FIGS. 2A and 2B) may include a coil (221) configured to wirelessly receive power from an external electronic device (e.g., a wireless charging transmitter (201) of FIGS. 2A and 2B), a resonant circuit including a first capacitor (222), a rectifier circuit (e.g., a rectifier circuit (255) of FIGS. 2A and 3) connected to the resonant circuit, a communication circuit (e.g., a communication module (190) of FIG. 1), and a control circuit (e.g., a processor of FIG. 1, a controller (250) of FIG. 2A) electrically connected to the rectifier circuit, the resonant circuit, and the communication circuit.
[0087] According to one embodiment, the rectifier circuit includes a plurality of switches (S1, S2, S3, S4), a plurality of switch driver circuits (e.g., a plurality of switch driver circuits (310, 320, 330, 340) of FIG. 3) each electrically connected to one of the plurality of switches, and at least two of the plurality of switch driver circuits may include at least one delay unit.
[0088] According to one embodiment, the control circuit may be configured to determine the first operating frequency based on information related to the operating frequency received from the external electronic device.
[0089] According to one embodiment, the control circuit may be configured to control the driving of the at least one delay based on the first operating frequency, and to adjust the switching timing of at least two switches among the plurality of switches by a designated delay value of the at least one delay.
[0090] According to one embodiment, the control circuit may be configured to determine a second operating frequency based on information related to the frequency, and to control a switching operation of the plurality of switches without operating the at least one delay unit based on the second operating frequency.
[0091] According to one embodiment, the control circuit may be configured to control the rectifier circuit to turn on the at least two switches, each connected to the at least two switch driver circuits, at the adjusted switching timing.
[0092] According to one embodiment, the electronic device may further include a regulator connected to an output terminal of at least two of the plurality of switches.
[0093] According to one embodiment, the resonant circuit further includes a second capacitor, wherein the first capacitor has one end connected to the coil and the other end connected to the first capacitor, and the second capacitor has one end connected in series to the other end of the first capacitor, the other end connected to the coil, and may be connected in parallel to the rectifier circuit.

[0103] FIG. 5 is a diagram illustrating an example of an operating method in an electronic device according to one embodiment. In the following embodiments, the respective operations may be performed sequentially, but are not necessarily performed sequentially. For example, the order of the respective operations may be changed, and at least two operations may be performed in parallel. In the description of the operating method according to one embodiment, a device for transmitting wireless power (e.g., a wireless power transmitting device) may be referred to as an external electronic device, and a device for receiving wireless power (e.g., a wireless power receiving device) may be referred to as an electronic device.
[0104] An electronic device according to one embodiment (e.g., the electronic device (101) of FIG. 1, the electronic device (101) of FIG. 2A, FIG. 2B, and FIG. 3) may be a device that supports multiple operating frequencies.
[0105] Referring to FIG. 5, in operation 501, the electronic device may be connected to an external electronic device (e.g., the external electronic device (201) of FIGS. 2A, 2B, and 3) through a communication circuit (190), and information related to an operating frequency (e.g., a switching frequency) may be received from the external electronic device through the communication circuit (190). That is, in operation 501, the electronic device (101) may receive or otherwise obtain information related to an operating frequency.
[0106] In operation 503, the electronic device can determine whether the first operating frequency is confirmed based on information related to the received operating frequency. If the first operating frequency is confirmed, the electronic device can perform operation 505, and if not, the electronic device can perform operation 509.
[0107] In operation 505 (operation 503-Example), the electronic device may drive (e.g., control, execute, operate, apply, etc.) at least one delay (e.g., the first delay (333) and / or the second delay (343) of FIG. 3) included in a rectifier circuit (e.g., the rectifier circuit (255) of FIGS. 2B and 3) of the electronic device based on a first operating frequency or based on identifying the first operating frequency in an external electronic device. For example, the rectifier circuit may be connected in parallel to a resonant circuit of the electronic device and may include a plurality of switches (e.g., S1, S2, S3, S4 of FIG. 3) and a plurality of switch driver circuits (e.g., the plurality of switch driver circuits (310, 320, 330, 340) of FIG. 3) electrically connected to each of the plurality of switches. For example, at least one delay circuit may be electrically connected to (e.g., included in) at least two of the plurality of switch driver circuits.
[0108] In operation 507, the electronic device can adjust (e.g., modify, change, set, control, etc.) the switching timing of at least two switches, each of which is connected to at least two switch driver circuits among the plurality of switches, with a specified delay value, and perform a switching operation of the plurality of switches based on the adjusted switching timing. For example, the switching timing of the first switch S1 and the fourth switch S4 and / or the second switch S2 and the third switch S3 is adjusted, respectively, by adjusting the delay values of the first delay 333 and / or the second delay 343.
[0109] In operation 509 (operation 503-No), the electronic device can determine a second operating frequency (e.g., 145 kHz) based on determining that the first operating frequency is not detected by the external electronic device or based on identifying the second operating frequency itself, and perform switching operations of the plurality of switches without operating the delay unit based on the second operating frequency.
