[0033]
[0034] (Example 1)
[0035] Fig. 1 is a perspective view illustrating an electrode roll package (100) according to exemplary embodiments of the present invention. Fig. 2 is a plan view schematically illustrating the electrode roll package (100) of Fig. 1.
[0036] Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, the electrode roll package (100) may include a bobbin (110), an electrode roll (120R) including an electrode sheet (120) wound on the bobbin (110), a protective cover (130), and a sealing cover (140).
[0037] The electrode sheet (120) may be wound on a cylindrical bobbin (110) and provided. The electrode sheet (120) may be wound on the bobbin (110) to form an electrode roll (120R).
[0038] The electrode sheet (120) may include a substrate and an electrode slurry layer applied to at least one of both surfaces of the substrate. The substrate may serve as a current collector and may include, for example, copper or aluminum. The electrode slurry layer may include a positive electrode active material slurry or a negative electrode active material slurry.
[0039] The electrode sheet (120) may include a holding portion (121), which is a region where an electrode slurry layer is applied, and a non-coated portion (123) where the electrode slurry layer is not applied. In the holding portion (121) of the electrode sheet (120), the surface of the substrate may be covered by the electrode slurry layer and not exposed to the outside. In the non-coated portion (123) of the electrode sheet (120), the surface of the substrate may be exposed. The non-coated portion (123) of the electrode sheet (120) may be located at both edges along the width direction of the electrode sheet (120).
[0040] A protective cover (130) can surround the electrode roll (120R). The protective cover (130) can provide a hollow portion (131) for accommodating the electrode roll (120R). When the electrode roll (120R) is inserted into the hollow portion (131) of the protective cover (130), the outer surface of the electrode roll (120R) can be surrounded and covered by the protective cover (130).
[0041] The protective cover (130) can completely surround the outer surface of the electrode roll (120R). The width of the protective cover (130) can be greater than the width of the electrode roll (120R). The width of the protective cover (130) and the width of the electrode roll (120R) can refer to the length in the direction parallel to the extension direction of the bobbin (110). When the electrode roll (120R) is inserted into the hollow portion (131) of the protective cover (130), the holding portion (121) and the uncoated portion (123) of the electrode sheet (120) can be surrounded and covered by the protective cover (130). The protective cover (130) can be formed of a material having excellent hardness, strength, elasticity, heat resistance, and / or transmittance.
[0042] The protective cover (130) can protect the electrode roll (120R) from external impact. To protect the electrode roll (120R) from external impact, the protective cover (130) can be made of a material with excellent hardness.
[0043] The protective cover (130) can directly face and contact the electrode roll (120R). To prevent the electrode sheet (120) from being damaged by friction between the protective cover (130) and the electrode sheet (120), the protective cover (130) can be made of a material having a low coefficient of friction.
[0044] In exemplary embodiments, the protective cover (130) may comprise a plastic material having excellent hardness. In exemplary embodiments, the protective cover (130) may comprise polycarbonate.
[0045] In exemplary embodiments, the protective cover (130) may be a single piece. In exemplary embodiments, the protective cover (130) may be composed of a plurality of detachably joined bodies. In exemplary embodiments, the protective cover (130) may be composed of a plurality of radially overlapping bodies.
[0046] The size (e.g., diameter) of the hollow portion (131) of the protective cover (130) in which the electrode roll (120R) is accommodated may be configured to be variable. In exemplary embodiments, the size (e.g., diameter) of the hollow portion (131) provided by the protective cover (130) may be adjusted according to the size (e.g., outer diameter) of the electrode roll (120R). For example, the size of the hollow portion (131) of the protective cover (130) may be adjusted using a bolt or hinge provided on the protective cover (130). For example, when the protective cover (130) includes a first part and a second part that overlap in the radial direction of the electrode roll (120R), the size of the hollow part (131) of the protective cover (130) can be adjusted by adjusting the position at which the engaging protrusion provided on the first part of the protective cover (130) is fastened to the second part of the protective cover (130) in the circumferential direction of the protective cover (130). For example, when the protective cover (130) includes a first part and a second part that overlap in the radial direction of the electrode roll (120R), a bolt can be screwed through the first part of the protective cover (130) and fastened to the second part of the protective cover (130). At this time, the gap between the first part and the second part of the protective cover (130) can be adjusted in the radial direction of the electrode roll (120R) by rotating the bolt in the fastening direction or the loosening direction opposite to the fastening direction, thereby adjusting the size of the hollow part (131) of the protective cover (130). For example, when the protective cover (130) includes a plurality of segments arranged along its circumferential direction and fastened by bolts, the gap between the plurality of segments of the protective cover (130) can be adjusted in the circumferential direction of the protective cover (130) by rotating the bolts, thereby adjusting the size of the hollow portion (131) of the protective cover (130).
[0047] The sealing cover (140) can seal the electrode roll (120R) and the protective cover (130). The sealing cover (140) covers the electrode sheet (120) and the protective cover (130), and can be fixed to both sides of the bobbin (110) that protrudes laterally from the electrode roll (120R). For example, the sealing cover (140) can be bonded and fixed to both sides of the bobbin (110) that protrudes laterally from the electrode roll (120R) by an adhesive tape (150). The adhesive tape (150) can fix the sealing cover (140) to one side of the bobbin (110) so that no gap is formed between one side of the bobbin (110) that protrudes laterally from the electrode roll (120R) and the sealing cover (140). In addition, the adhesive tape (150) can secure the sealing cover (140) to the other side of the bobbin (110) so that no gap is formed between the other side of the bobbin (110) protruding laterally from the electrode roll (120R) and the sealing cover (140). As the sealing cover (140) is secured to both sides of the bobbin (110) by the adhesive tape (150), a sealing space can be formed that seals the electrode roll (120R) and the protective cover (130).
[0048] The sealing cover (140) may be formed of a flexible material as a packaging material. In exemplary embodiments, the sealing cover (140) may include vinyl.
[0049] The material of the protective cover (130) may be different from the material of the sealing cover (140).
[0050] In exemplary embodiments, the hardness of the material of the protective cover (130) may be greater than the hardness of the material of the sealing cover (140).
[0051] In exemplary embodiments, the coefficient of friction of the material of the protective cover (130) may be less than the coefficient of friction of the material of the sealing cover (140).
[0052] The sealing cover (140) covers and seals the electrode roll (120R) and the protective cover (130), but the holding portion (121) and the uncoated portion (123) of the electrode sheet (120) can be spaced apart from the sealing cover (140) with the protective cover (130) therebetween. The protective cover (130) can prevent the sealing cover (140) from contacting the holding portion (121) and the uncoated portion (123) of the electrode sheet (120), thereby preventing damage to the electrode sheet (120) due to friction between the sealing cover (140) and the electrode sheet (120).
[0053]
[0054] (Example 2)
[0055] Fig. 3 is a flowchart illustrating a method for manufacturing an electrode roll package (100) according to exemplary embodiments of the present invention. Figs. 4a and 4b are drawings illustrating a method for manufacturing an electrode roll package (100) according to exemplary embodiments of the present invention.
[0056] Hereinafter, a method for manufacturing the electrode roll package (100) illustrated in FIGS. 1 and 2 will be described with reference to FIGS. 3, 4a and 4b.
[0057] Referring to FIG. 4a, an electrode sheet (120) is wound around a bobbin (110) to form an electrode roll (120R) (S110). In step S110, the electrode sheet (120) can be manufactured through a coating process of applying an electrode slurry layer on a substrate. The electrode sheet (120) that has undergone the coating process can be wound around a bobbin (110) to form an electrode roll (120R).
[0058] Referring to FIG. 4B, the electrode roll (120R) is covered with a protective cover (130) so that the electrode roll (120R) is inserted into the hollow portion (131) of the bobbin (110) (S120). In step S120, the protective cover (130) may cover the entire outer surface of the electrode roll (120R). In some exemplary embodiments, before performing step S120, a step of adjusting the size of the hollow portion (131) of the protective cover (130) may be further performed based on the outer diameter of the electrode roll (120R).
[0059] Referring to Fig. 1, the electrode roll (120R) and the protective cover (130) are covered with a sealing cover (140) (S130). After covering the electrode roll (120R) and the protective cover (130) with the sealing cover (140), one side of the sealing cover (140) can be fixed to one side of the bobbin (110) protruding laterally from the electrode roll (120R) using an adhesive tape (150), and the T-side of the sealing cover (140) can be fixed to the other side of the bobbin (110) protruding laterally from the electrode roll (120R) using an adhesive tape (150). As the sealing cover (140) is fixed to both sides of the bobbin (110) by the adhesive tape (150), the electrode roll (120R) and the protective cover (130) can be sealed to the sealing cover (140).
[0060] As a comparative example, when the electrode roll is packaged only with a vinyl material packaging material, there is a problem in that the electrode roll is damaged by external impact during the transport of the electrode roll, or the uncoated portion of the electrode sheet is damaged by friction between the packaging material and the uncoated portion of the electrode sheet.
[0061] According to exemplary embodiments of the present invention, by covering the electrode roll (120R) with a protective cover (130) having excellent hardness, it is possible to prevent the electrode roll (120R) from being damaged during the transport process of the electrode roll package (100).
[0062] In addition, according to exemplary embodiments of the present invention, by configuring the protective cover (130) in contact with the electrode roll (120R) with a material having a low coefficient of friction, damage to the electrode roll (120R) due to friction can be prevented.
[0063] The present invention has been described in more detail through drawings and examples. However, the configurations described in the drawings or examples described in this specification are merely embodiments of the present invention and do not represent all of the technical ideas of the present invention. Therefore, it should be understood that various equivalents and modified examples may exist as of the time of this application.
