Abstract
Description
[0001] STRUCTURE OF A WASTE COMPACTING PRESS FOR PRODUCTION OF ECO-BRICKS
[0002] TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE UTILITY MODEL
[0003] This utility model belongs to the area of the press industry that uses a tamping element, in particular, to the waste compacting press structures for the production of eco-bricks.
[0004] BACKGROUND OF THE UTILITY MODEL
[0005] Today, due to the massive production of plastics, tons of plastic waste accumulate around the world. In response, recycling initiatives have emerged to counter this problem. Among them is the idea of filling bottles with plastic waste, encapsulating the waste for later use as a building material. These so-called "eco-bricks" are now used to build confined concrete walls and perform structural analysis tests to establish building regulations, as an alternative to the use of conventional bricks.
[0006] The process of filling a bottle is usually done manually, is slow, and requires physical strength to compact. For this reason, different alternatives have been proposed in the state of the art to optimize the filling process.
[0007] For example, document CO 15-031880 discloses a device for compacting waste (plastic packaging and aluminum or cellulose papers) inside plastic bottles (commonly called ecobricks) comprising a base (1) with a vertical support (2) attached to a horizontal support (9) that acts as a lever to transfer force to a vertical support (6). At the vertical end, a movable head is coupled that is adaptable according to the volume of the bottle. The movable head comprises two axes (12,13) that move independently axially, causing retractable extendable arms (17) to expand to compress the waste more quickly and efficiently inside the bottle. However, said document has a series of disadvantages, for example, it discloses a support without any element to hold the plastic bottle to be filled with compacted waste, which does not ensure that the bottle is stable and centered in relation to the moving head, and furthermore, because the trajectory of the moving head is parallel to the vertical support, when the horizontal arm is activated, a torque is generated on the base of the disclosed device, which requires said device to be designed with a large base so that it can withstand said torque without losing the balance of said device when used.
[0008] It is therefore necessary to provide a waste compacting press structure for the production of eco-bricks that can solve these technical problems.
