Description
Atomizing liquid modifier, atomizing liquid and aerosol generating device
[0001] This application claims priority to Chinese patent application No. 202311263198.8 filed on September 27, 2023, the entire contents of which are incorporated by reference into this application. Technical Field
[0002] The present application relates to the field of flavor technology, and in particular to an atomizing liquid modifier, an atomizing liquid, and an aerosol generating device. Background Art
[0003] Atomizer liquid is a liquid used in aerosol-generating devices to produce vapor. It is usually composed of propylene glycol (PG), glycerin (VG), flavorings, nicotine, and other additives. Under normal circumstances, saliva secretion is regulated by nerves and hormones, which helps moisturize, digest, and protect the mouth. Certain chemicals may interfere with saliva secretion in different ways, causing a decrease in saliva secretion. Propylene glycol and glycerin in atomizer flavors are two of them. As commonly used basic ingredients, long-term use of propylene glycol and glycerin can affect saliva secretion disorders and cause long-term dry mouth, which not only affects the user's comfort and user experience, but may also have an adverse effect on oral health. Therefore, solving the problem of dry mouth caused by the use of atomizer liquid can optimize the user experience of atomizer liquid. Technical issues

[0022] Atomizer liquid is a liquid used in aerosol-generating devices to produce vapor. It is usually composed of propylene glycol (PG), glycerin (VG), flavorings, nicotine, and other additives. Under normal circumstances, the secretion of saliva is regulated by nerves and hormones, which helps moisturize, digest, and protect the mouth.
[0023] In view of this, the present application proposes an atomizing liquid modifier, which aims to overcome the problem of dry mouth caused by the use of atomizing liquid in the prior art. The raw material components of the atomizing liquid modifier include 6-O-p-hydroxybenzoyl catalpol, 7α-hydroxy-β-sitosterol, 5,7-dihydroxy-6,8-dimethyl-3-(4'-hydroxy-3',5'-dimethoxybenzyl) chroman-4-one, 3-hydroxy-citronellic acid 3-O-β-D-pyranoside, 3',4',5,6,7,8-hexamethoxyflavone and antioxidant.
[0024] The atomizing liquid modifier provided in this application includes 6-O-p-hydroxybenzoyl catalpol, 7α-hydroxy-β-sitosterol, 5,7-dihydroxy-6,8-dimethyl-3-(4'-hydroxy-3',5'-dimethoxybenzyl) chroman-4-one, 3-hydroxy-citronellal 3-O-β-D-pyranoglucopyranoside, 3',4',5,6,7,8-hexamethoxyflavone and antioxidant. 6-O-p-hydroxybenzoyl catalpol is naturally derived from various plants of the Bignoniaceae and Plantaginaceae families, such as Oroxylum indicum and Plantain. NF-κB is a key nuclear transcription factor that is associated with various cellular activities such as immune cell activation, T and B lymphocyte development, stress response, and apoptosis. It can regulate many immune and inflammation-related genes and has a certain effect on cell damage repair. Catalpol, a terpenoid glucoside, plays a role in NF-κB regulation. Modifications to functional groups often alter the properties of the compound. Compounds with acyl substitutions at the 6-O position, known as 6-O-acyl catalpols, exhibit stronger NF-κB regulation. 7α-Hydroxy-β-sitosterol, a natural product from various plants in the Ranunculaceae family, promotes cell regeneration. 5,7-Dihydroxy-6,8-dimethyl-3-(4'-hydroxy-3',5'-dimethoxybenzyl)chroman-4-one is a potent oxygen free radical scavenger. 3-Hydroxy-citronellal 3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside may interfere with various inflammatory signaling pathways, such as the NF-κB pathway and mitochondrial-mediated pathways, suppressing inflammatory responses by inhibiting NF-κB activation. 3',4',5,6,7,8-Hexamethoxyflavone, a natural product from citrus plants such as lime and grapefruit, exhibits antioxidant activity. The combination of the above substances can reduce oral inflammation or cell damage caused by propylene glycol and glycerol, promote the recovery of affected cells or eliminate inflammation, thereby alleviating the reduced saliva secretion caused by propylene glycol and glycerol. The aerosol liquid modifier provided in this application has the technical effect of long-term relief of oral dryness caused by aerosol liquid use.
[0025] The antioxidant includes resveratrol. Resveratrol is naturally derived from grape skin and is an important physiologically active polyphenol. It is the main active ingredient in many plants. The antioxidant can also be other antioxidants such as quercetin. However, when combined with other raw materials, these antioxidants are not as effective as resveratrol in alleviating the problem of dry mouth caused by the use of aerosol liquid. Therefore, in one embodiment of the present application, the use of resveratrol can further provide long-term relief for the problem of dry mouth caused by the use of aerosol liquid.
[0026] Furthermore, the aerosol improver comprises the following components, measured by mass: 0.10-1 part of 6-O-p-hydroxybenzoyl catalpol; 0.1-1 part of 7α-hydroxy-β-sitosterol; 0.1-0.5 part of 5,7-dihydroxy-6,8-dimethyl-3-(4'-hydroxy-3',5'-dimethoxybenzyl)chroman-4-one; 0.1-0.5 part of 3-hydroxy-citronellal 3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside; 0.01-0.05 part of resveratrol; 0.01-0.05 part of 3',4',5,6,7,8-hexamethoxyflavone; and 0.01-0.05 part of an antioxidant. Using the above mass fractions can better and long-term alleviate the problem of dry mouth caused by the use of aerosol.
[0027] The present application also proposes the use of an atomizing liquid modifier for long-term relief of oral dryness caused by the use of atomizing liquid. The atomizing liquid modifier comprises the following raw material components: 6-O-p-hydroxybenzoyl catalpol, 7α-hydroxy-β-sitosterol, 5,7-dihydroxy-6,8-dimethyl-3-(4'-hydroxy-3',5'-dimethoxybenzyl) chroman-4-one, 3-hydroxy-citronellal 3-O-β-D-pyranoglucopyranoside, 3',4',5,6,7,8-hexamethoxyflavone, and an antioxidant. The application also proposes the use of an atomizing liquid modifier for long-term relief of oral dryness caused by the use of atomizing liquid, which can achieve long-term relief of the problem of oral dryness caused by the use of atomizing liquid.
[0028] This application also proposes an atomized liquid, including the atomized liquid modifier. The atomized liquid has all the technical solutions of the atomized liquid modifier, and thus has all the beneficial effects of the atomized liquid modifier, which will not be described in detail in this application.
[0029] Furthermore, the aerosol liquid further comprises glycerol and 1,2-propylene glycol, with the mass ratio of glycerol to the aerosol liquid modifier being 10:(0.084-0.62). At this mass ratio, the aerosol liquid modifier has a better long-term effect in alleviating oral dryness caused by the use of the aerosol liquid.
[0030] The preparation method of the atomized liquid proposed in the present application is: adding the above-mentioned atomized liquid modifier to glycerol, and then adding 1,2-propylene glycol to obtain a mixed liquid, and stirring the mixed liquid for 5 minutes to obtain the atomized liquid.

[0069] Test methods and results
[0070] 1. Preparation before testing:
[0071] Healthy male SD rats aged 7-8 weeks and weighing 180-200 g were randomly divided into 13 groups, with 6 rats in each group.
[0072] The aerosolized liquids obtained in Examples 7-11 and Comparative Examples 1-7 were added to the aerosol generating device, and the aerosol was released by heating after power was applied. 35 ml of aerosol was released each time, and 0.3 ml of aerosol was diverted to the oral aerosol delivery system and delivered to the oral cavity of rats in groups 1-12, respectively. The treatment was performed every 30 seconds, 200 times per day, for 7 days.
[0073] The rats in group 13 were not treated with the aerosol solution and served as the blank control group.
[0074] 2. Testing indicators and methods:
[0075] Indicators: The test indicators are the saliva secretion volume of rats in each group 1 day before treatment and 3 days, 7 days, 15 days, and 30 days after treatment. The indicator on the first day is the control group within the group.
[0076] Methods: Before measurement, sterile absorbent cotton balls were weighed dry and weighed to 26 ± 0.17 mg. Saliva secretion was measured by placing the weighed cotton balls in the rat's cheek. Each cotton ball was replaced every 30 minutes for 60 minutes. The maximum saliva secretion was calculated by the difference in weight between the dry cotton balls before and after weighing.
[0077] Saliva secretion (mg) = wet weight of dry cotton ball - dry weight of dry cotton ball

[0083] There was no significant difference in the saliva secretion volume of rats in the control group that were not treated with the nebulized liquid one day before and on the third, seventh, fifteenth and 30th days, indicating that under the same living conditions, the saliva secretion volume of rats without any treatment remained stable.
[0084] The saliva secretion of rats treated with the aerosolized liquid prepared in Example 11 was significantly different between the day before treatment and the day after treatment, indicating that the aerosol in the control group had an effect on the saliva secretion of the rats, that is, the propylene glycol and glycerol caused salivary secretion disturbances in the rats, and that this effect lasted for a period of time.
[0085] The difference in saliva secretion between the rats treated with the aerosolized liquid prepared in Examples 7 to 10 and the rats before treatment was within 5 mg. The saliva secretion of the rats treated with the aerosolized liquid prepared in Example 7 was slightly reduced within 15 days, but it had a greater effect on alleviating the decrease in saliva secretion than that of the rats treated with the aerosolized liquid prepared in Comparative Example 1.
[0086] Compared with the saliva secretion of rats treated with the atomized liquid prepared in Examples 8 to 10 one day before treatment, the saliva secretion of rats was vigorous within 7 days, and normal saliva secretion function was restored on the 15th day, and continued to the 30th day. Compared with the rats treated with the atomized liquid prepared in Comparative Example 1, the atomized liquid had a greater and more sustained effect in alleviating the decrease in saliva secretion.
[0087] In summary, the nebulized liquid modifier provided in the present application can alleviate the salivary secretion disorder caused by propylene glycol and glycerin in the nebulized liquid and can provide long-term relief, thereby expanding the use scenarios of the nebulized liquid.
