Description

[0001] FLEXIBLE AND ADJUSTABLE COUPLING BLANKET TYPE DEVICE FOR ASSEMBLING GROUND ROD AND CONDUCTOR

[0002] TECHNOLOGY SECTOR

[0003] The present invention is in the field of basic sciences, specifically in the area of applied physics and mechanical engineering.

[0004] BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0005] The present invention fulfills the intended purpose of ensuring electrical flow in grounding systems, since it keeps the grounding rod and the conductor tightly connected, creating a stingray shape that facilitates effective and long-lasting installation in the technical field. This is supported by the fact that the device allows adhesion in two relevant parts: a first that joins the elongated lower area with the upper part through tabs that are inserted into the slits, which in turn project the channel through which the grounded rod and the conductor will be placed. The second adhesion occurs when the clamp located in the upper area of the device is secured through the same mechanism of tabs and slits, to prevent the elements of the grounding system from separating and consequently not fulfilling the intended function.

[0006] As for the standard that determines the parameters of the design and installation of grounding devices, we have that the present invention, unlike those found in the state of the art, complies with the regulations of the RETIE (Technical Regulations for Electrical Installations) which establishes: i) that there must be a permanent union of the metallic parts, to form an electrically conductive path, which ensures electrical conductivity and the capacity to safely conduct any current that may pass and that they must be interconnected so that there is minimum resistance; ¡i) that it must be constructed of a metal or metals that are not affected by electrolysis, when installed under real service conditions and are exposed to humidity. The component must have adequate strength and mechanical rigidity to allow its installation as intended, without breakage or deformation that would affect its service or damage the grounding electrode or the equipment to which it is connected and; iii) terminals and conductors made of different materials, such as copper and aluminum, must not be used, unless the device is identified and approved for those conditions of use.

[0007] The state of the art analyzed to determine the viability of this patent process is inescapably subject to the application previously granted to the inventor for similar purposes. This application featured a gripping mechanism with elements arranged separately and in isolation, rather than as a whole, as proposed here. Claimed for this invention was a grooved cylindrical structure that allowed access to the grounding rod and the conductor, which were held in place by a capsule designed to allow all the elements of said grounding system to fit together inside. At this stage of the creator's inventive dynamic, we have a device that resembles the morphological structure of a manta ray. It is coupled in two sections through tabs and slits, more effectively and precisely securing the system elements, both the grounding rod and the conductor. This proposed structure is presented as a whole sheet and not as separate elements, as was stated in the previously granted patent, file number NC2019 / 0012389.

[0008] Taking into account the considerations set forth above, a summary is made of the state of the art found in the technological surveillance carried out, which accounts for the possibility of carrying out the present invention patent process. Given the differences and technical components of the new creation, it is concluded that it holds the title of invention and not utility model. The above is subsumed when taking into account that the concept of joining the conductor and the grounded rod is present in one of the patents found, but in a form and under conditions so different from ours that it allows us to understand that the three requirements contained in Article 14 of Andean Decision 486 of 2000 are effectively met.

[0009] Among the patents found in the state of the art is No. CN113782993, grounding column for electrical equipment, which has a ground cable whose end is connected to the electrical device to be grounded and the other end is supported against the first or second unit by means of the free end to make a direct or indirect connection of the cable. It has an element that acts as a connector is a hollow jacketed post type, a sleeve or post that are joined by a threading system at the lower base of the post, inside the post or sleeve there are two hinges that hold the cables, leaving them in indirect contact with the ground rod or pole, pressing the cables towards the sleeve or post, it is intuited by the graphics that the contact of the system with the ground is made by the post or sleeve and the rod goes inside it with the conducting cables.According to the graphics and description, there is no evidence that the ground rod or pole has contact with the ground. According to the graphics, it is assumed that the contact with the ground is made by the sleeve or post.

[0010] Finally, the patent analyzed within the technological search was No. US20190190171, a grounding clamp for providing a ground connection to an overhead power line, it has a cam mechanism whose cam follower is carried on a rotating element that is mounted on the body to rotate around the axis with respect to the cam surface, it has a connector element, it is a single element that one of its parts is connected to the electrical conductor cable and on the other hand the ground conductor cable, but it has no contact with the ground rod or pole. The system is installed in an aerial area or upper part of the pole, so it does not have direct contact with the ground pole, therefore, this connector cannot be connected to the ground rod or pole.

[0011] BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION.

[0012] The present invention relates to a flexible and adjustable coupling blanket-type device for assembling a ground rod and conductor, characterized by having an initial shape associated with a manta ray, with wing-like extensions that, when folded, give the final shape of the device. The device is coupled to slits through tabs and is held together with the ground rod and conductor by means of the wing-like elements located at the top. The wings at the end allow for flexible and adjustable coupling of the elements of the grounding system, given their clamping or gripping mechanism.

[0018] DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0019] The flexible and adjustable coupling blanket type device, for the assembly of ground rod and conductor, has a general characteristic from its functionality, given that the structural and physical arrangement changes depending on whether or not it is installed in the grounding system, and for the present writing it has been decanted in two moments: A and B. At moment A, the device is not assembled or installed and it is at that instance in which its shape similar to a manta ray is evident, with open wings, which are extensions of the device that will later adjust it to the ground rod and the conductor. For its part, moment B is when the device is closed and with this it adjusts the components of the grounding system through its malleable elements.

[0020] Now, the proposed device will have two sections for clarity in the writing, an upper one (1) and a lower one (2), the upper one (1) being characterized by being a cylindrical body with indentations (101) in its rear part, by means of which the molars (201) coming from the lower section or the tail of the stingray are hooked. The arrangement associated with this animal is generated in a real way in the upper section given that the wing-type extensions (102), prior to installation, are shown with a fold exerted by a mechanical metal form, with which a closing and adjustment function of the elements that are part of the grounding system is fulfilled. This closing and adjustment function is perfected by means of a toothed belt (103) that generates the necessary pressure when seeking the adjustment and compression of the elements, to avoid their sliding or separation, after being connected through the device proposed at time B.The wing-like extensions (102) proposed in the upper section of the requested device have the characteristic of being differentiated in size one in relation to the other (102-1) (102-2), so that the shorter one (102-2) remains inside the circumference generated in the cylindrical body, after the device is installed and, through the pressure generated by the other one (102-1) which is the long one, adjusts and compresses the elements of the grounding system, preventing its separation and sliding. The wings are closed and adjusted in a real way through a sliding toothed belt (103), which facilitates movement through a clasp or closure (104) and, according to its shape, prevents it from opening again. In the event that you want to uninstall the device from the grounding system, it will be enough to make a cut in the toothed belt to achieve it.

[0021] The present invention for the proposed purposes has a second lower section (2) where there is a grooved semi-cylindrical body (202), which through a fold that it has is hooked with the upper section (1) by means of the grooves (101) that are joined with the millstones (201) present in this lower section (2). In this way and from the grooved shape that this section has, the conductor and the grounded rod are accommodated and adjusted from the closing of the wing-type extensions (102), in the manner proposed in the previous paragraph.

[0022] Analyzing the device from a top view shown in Figure 2, it can be seen that, at time B when it is installed with the grounded system, since it is constructed of a malleable metal material with a thickness between 1.52 mm and 0.25 mm, the material allows the structure to contract in order to effectively contain the grounded rod and the conductor, preventing their separation and slippage. This is the purpose pursued by the patent application, given the difficulty of finding a device that performs this function without being destroyed during assembly, nor requiring additional elements or special tools for its implementation and use. Keeping the grounded rod and the conductor together allows the flow of electrical discharges in their function of protecting electrical systems.
