Description

[0001] A RECYCLING DEVICE

[0002] Technical Field

[0003] The invention is a recycling machine that collects materials and turns them into semi-finished products by placing them under the production line in the production of glass-reinforced thermoset matrix pipe.

[0004] State of the Art

[0005] Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastic (GRP) materials are the most widely used composites in the industry due to their high chemical and mechanical strength. GRP materials are used in aviation, maritime transportation, infrastructure, superstructure and land transportation industries, wind turbines, warehouse and tank production. One of the most important industrial applications of GRP materials is GRP pipes. GRP pipes are preferred in applications where high corrosion resistance of plastics and high mechanical strength of metals are needed and are generally used in drinking -use water or sewerage lines.

[0006] Glass fiber reinforcement, thermoset resin and silica sand are used as raw materials in GRP pipe production. GRP pipes can generally be produced in three different ways: Filament Winding Method, Swing Casting Method and Hand Laying Method. The filament winding method is performed in two different ways: Angled Filament Winding Method and Continuous Filament Winding Method. In the angled filament winding method, the pipe is produced on a rotating mold as shown in Figure 1 by winding the resin-soaked fibers with a certain tension and angle. The pipe length is limited to the mold length. Only continuous filament is usually used in pipe production.

[0007] The Continuous Filament Winding (CFW) process is the production of GRP pipes by winding the continuous flowing glass fibers with an automatic machine. By compressing the glass fiber and resin, the inner and outer walls of the pipe are formed and the filler (sand) is added. By reinforcing the high proportion of polyester (or other thermoset-based resins used in production) with glass fiber, the inner and outer surfaces of the pipe become extremely resistant to chemicals. Since the middle region of the pipe is quite durable, the required rigidity is provided and resistance to working pressures is obtained along the pipe. This method is suitable for mass production of products with special forms.

[0008] In the Continuous Filament Winding production process, the main machine consists of a continuous steel band carried by the beams forming a cylindrical mandrel. Under the supervision of Programmable Logic Control Systems (PLC) and computers (PC), glass fiber, resin, filler sand and surface materials are applied with precision measurements with the movement of the mandrel. The PLC-PC modules provide integrated process control in line with pre-programmed recipes. Basic information such as diameter, rigidity and pressure class are entered into the program. The PC calculates all machine setting values. Process parameters and pipe thickness are constantly monitored and recorded to ensure traceability. The curing of the pipe layers develops depending on the heat. It is ensured that the layers are heated directly with the heating elements. The layer temperature in the curing region is measured at different points. The temperature distribution is monitored graphically from the PC monitor. The resin output is provided from two different lines. In high corrosive applications, special resin can be used on the inner layer of the pipe and normally on the body and outer part. The cutting unit, which has axial and radial movement and is compatible with the pipe, ensures that the pipe is cut smoothly and vertically. By entering the pipe length into the control system, the cutting operation takes place automatically. The cut pipes pass to specially designed lifting stands, then to the chamfering and calibration section, and then to the hydrostatic test section.

[0009] Waste polyester (or other types of resin used in production), glass fiber and sand produced during this process cannot be used and there is both a loss of material and an extra fee for waste disposal. However, these materials are usually buried in the ground and disposed of by disposal companies. This situation leads to the pollution of soil, ground and surface waters and is included in the life chain as polluting chemical materials.

[0017] 6. Conveyor

[0018] 7. Screw shaft mixer tank

[0019] 8. Liquid spray processes (binder matrix spraying compatible with solvent or production waste number (4)) Detailed Description of the Invention

[0020] Thanks to the machine of the invention, it is ensured that the glass fiber, sand and polyester (such as orthophthalic polyester, isophthalic polyester, terephthalic polyester, etc., and vinyl ester) resins poured into the lower part during the production of GRP pipe, which causes environmental pollution, are collected in one step and turned into semi-finished products and used in the production of composite materials.

[0021] The machine of the invention is a recycling machine which collects the waste generated during the pipe-cutting process in a single step in the production of glass fiber-reinforced pipe, comprising: i. The conveyor (6) located under the production unit, where the waste (2, 3, 4) generated during the production process of the pipe (1) falls off, ii. The electric motor (5) that enables the movement of the conveyor iii. The screw shaft mixer tank (7) located at the end of the movement direction of the conveyor, where the waste (2, 3, 4) transported by the movement of the conveyor (6) is accumulated, iv. The spray (8) that applies the solvent or binder matrix into the mixer tank (7).

[0022] In the machine shown in Figure 1, sand or inorganic mineral filler waste (2) generated during the production process of the pipe (1), fiber production waste (3) and polyester types (orthophthalic polyester, isophthalic polyester, terephthalic polyester, etc.) and thermoset material wastes (4) such as vinyl ester falls on the conveyor (6) rotated by the electric motor (5). Wastes (2), (3), and (4) are generated at the same time during production. The waste (2, 3, 4) transported from the conveyor (6) to the screw shaft mixer tank (7) is subjected to liquid spraying with the spray (8) that applies the solvent or binder matrix. The mixer system consisting of the spiral or blades in the mixer constantly mixes the wastes and makes them homogeneous. If it is desired to separate the waste, the solvent is sprayed and the waste is not connected, it can be separated. If the waste is to be produced immediately after mixing, then the binder is sprayed. The mixture is then transferred to the hot presses and turned into a product with the desired properties in molds prepared in various ways. In the previous art, sand, polyester-type thermoset resins and glass fibers are separated from each other by a mechanism and stored for separate evaluation. In this method, all wastes can be turned into a final product by using hot pressure molding and / or injection molding methods after homogeneous mixing in a single stage. As a result, the product to be produced may be a pot, natural gas outer box, an electrically insulating part or an equivalent of composite materials produced by BMC (Bulk Molding Compound) method. By using this machine, products that can be used in automotive, electric-electronic, aviation, and defense industry applications can be produced. In addition, this recycling method is a method that can be used in direct product conversion processes by evaluating other thermoset matrix composite material wastes such as epoxy used other than polyester types.
