Abstract
Description
[0001] Filter insert for a filter unit
[0002] The invention relates to a filter insert for a filter unit comprising an electrical supply module for providing a voltage to two electrically conductive polarization electrodes, with an electrically insulating filter material, a conductor arrangement which has at least one electrical conduction path connected in an electrically conductive manner to at least one polarization electrode, and a conductor carrier which carries the at least one electrical conduction path of the conductor arrangement and is arranged in a conductor receiving region of the filter insert.
[0003] The invention further relates to a filter unit with a replaceable filter insert and an electrical supply module.
[0004] Furthermore, the invention relates to a method for producing a filter insert, comprising the steps of: providing an electrically insulating filter material and at least one electrically conductive polarizing electrode for polarizing the filter material and producing a conductor arrangement which has at least one electrical conduction path connected to the polarizing electrode in an electrically conductive manner.
[0005] Filters that operate with electrical polarization typically require a conductor arrangement for electrical contact so that the filter can be powered by an electrical supply module. The electrical conduction paths of the conductor arrangement are often implemented using stranded wires or conductive plastics. However, such conductor arrangements are associated with comparatively high manufacturing and material costs. Since the conductor arrangement must be connected to the filter body, handling the filter during manufacture and attachment of the conductor arrangement is labor-intensive and time-consuming. Furthermore, the known conductor arrangements do not allow for the cost-effective implementation of a larger variety of filter variants, since the entire manufacturing process of the filter must be adapted for each variant.
[0006] The object of the invention is therefore to reduce the manufacturing costs of a filter relating to the electrical contacting and / or to enable the economic implementation of a greater variety of filter variants.
[0007] The object is achieved by a filter insert of the type mentioned at the outset, wherein the conductor carrier of the filter insert according to the invention is designed as a carrier film or carrier label and has a carrier layer, wherein the at least one electrical conduction path is printed on the carrier layer.
[0008] Because the conductor carrier carries the electrical conduction path, the conductor arrangement can be manufactured particularly cost-effectively. No complex handling of the entire filter insert is required during production of the conductor arrangement. The conductor carrier can be manufactured separately and then arranged in the conductor receiving area. The conductor carrier allows for the cost-effective implementation of a wider variety of variants. Different conductor carriers can be used for different filter insert variants. The conductor carriers of the different variants can differ from one another in the course, shape, material, and / or other properties of the conductor path.
[0009] According to the invention, the conductor carrier is designed as a carrier film or carrier label. The carrier label can be an adhesive label. The carrier film can be an adhesive film. The conductor carrier can be a plastic film or comprise a plastic film. The conductor carrier is insulating at least in the region of the cable itself, in particular the carrier film is completely insulating. The conductor carrier can be a polyethylene terephthalate film (PET film) or comprise a polyethylene terephthalate film. The conductor carrier can be a polyethylene film (PE film) or comprise a polyethylene film. The conductor carrier can be a polypropylene film (PP film) or comprise a polypropylene film. Alternatively, the conductor carrier can also be a plate, in particular a plastic plate. The conductor carrier can also be a carrier material or a carrier textile. The conductor carrier can, for example, be a carrier fleece.
[0010] In a further preferred embodiment of the filter insert according to the invention, the conductor carrier is fixed to a conductor receiving surface in the conductor receiving area of the filter insert. The conductor receiving surface is preferably external so that electrical contact with the filter insert can be established via the external conductor carrier. The conductor receiving surface can be an external side surface and / or located on an external material strip of the filter insert. The conductor receiving surface can be located on a side lamination of the filter insert. Alternatively, the conductor receiving surface can also be positioned internally so that the electrical conduction path of the conductor carrier is protected from external stress.
[0011] A filter insert according to the invention is also advantageous in which the conductor carrier is adhesively bonded to the conductor receiving surface. The conductor carrier preferably has a top side and a bottom side. The top side preferably faces away from the conductor receiving surface and / or points outwards. The bottom side preferably faces the conductor receiving surface and / or points inwards. Cured adhesive and / or a cured adhesive layer is preferably located between the conductor receiving surface and the bottom side of the conductor carrier. The cured adhesive can be a cured hot-melt adhesive. The cured adhesive layer can be a cured hot-melt adhesive layer. The bottom side of the conductor carrier is adhesively bonded to the conductor receiving surface over its entire surface or only in certain regions. Alternatively, the conductor carrier can also be fixed to the conductor receiving surface using another joining connection. The conductor carrier can, for example, be melted onto the conductor receiving surface or welded onto the conductor receiving surface.
[0012] In a further preferred embodiment of the filter insert according to the invention, the at least one electrical conduction path is a printed electrically conductive conductor track. The electrically conductive conductor track is thus applied to the conductor carrier using a printing process. The electrically conductive conductor track is thus formed from a cured, printable material.
[0013] According to the invention, the conductor carrier has a carrier layer, wherein the at least one electrical conduction path is printed onto the carrier layer. The electrical conduction path can be printed onto the carrier layer using a screen printing process. The carrier layer can be a plastic film. The carrier layer can be a polyethylene terephthalate film (PET film). The carrier layer can be a polypropylene film (PP film). The carrier layer can have a layer thickness of less than 0.5 mm, preferably less than 0.2 mm. The carrier layer can be temperature- and / or moisture-resistant. The carrier layer can, for example, have permanent temperature resistance at ambient temperatures between -40°C and +85°C. Alternatively or additionally, the carrier layer can have a temperature resistance of at least 24 hours at an ambient temperature of 100°C.Alternatively or additionally, the carrier layer may have a temperature resistance of at least 48 hours at an ambient temperature of 55 °C and a relative humidity of 95%.
[0014] Furthermore, a filter insert according to the invention is preferred in which all electrical conduction paths of the conduction carrier are made of the same material. The material of the electrical conduction paths is preferably based on the same printing paste mixture or the same printing paste. Printing can therefore be carried out on the basis of only one printing paste mixture or only one printing paste. The conduction carrier preferably comprises only one printed layer. The conduction carrier is preferably based on a 1-layer print. In another preferred embodiment of the filter insert according to the invention, the conduction carrier runs along multiple sides of the filter insert. The conduction carrier can, for example, run along two or three sides of the filter insert. The conduction carrier can run along the top side and / or along the bottom side and / or along a side surface of the filter insert. For example, the conductor carrier comprises an electrode contacting section that runs along the top side of the filter insert and is electrically conductively connected to an upper polarization electrode. For example, the conductor carrier comprises an electrode contacting section that runs along the bottom side of the filter insert and is electrically conductively connected to a lower polarization electrode. For example, the conductor carrier comprises a supply contacting section that runs along a side surface of the filter insert and serves to electrically conductively contact the filter insert with the electrical supply module. The conductor carrier preferably runs along several planes, in particular planes that run at an angle to one another. The conductor carrier can comprise one or more kinks and / or bends.
[0015] In a further embodiment of the filter insert according to the invention, at least one polarizing electrode is formed as a component of the filter insert. The polarizing electrode can run parallel to the filter material and / or be in contact with the filter material. The polarizing electrode can be a flat material layer. The filter material and the polarizing electrode can form a material composite and / or be pleated.
[0016] A filter insert according to the invention is further advantageous in which the conductor carrier comprises at least one electrode contacting section that is electrically conductively connected to a polarizing electrode. The conductor carrier preferably comprises a first electrode contacting section that is electrically conductively connected to a first polarizing electrode, and a second electrode contacting section that is electrically conductively connected to a second polarizing electrode. Alternatively or additionally, the conductor carrier can comprise a supply contacting section for electrically conductively contacting the filter insert with the electrical supply module. The supply contacting section can comprise two contact regions, wherein the contact regions have a greater width than the electrical conduction paths adjoining the contact regions.
[0017] In a preferred embodiment of the filter insert according to the invention, the supply contact section is located in a contact projection region of the conductor carrier, which projects beyond the conductor receiving surface on which the conductor carrier is fixed. The contact projection region preferably projects beyond the conductor receiving surface via a lateral material strip, which can form the side lamination of the filter insert. Preferably, a first supply contact section is located in a first contact projection region of the conductor carrier, and a second supply contact section is located in a second contact projection region of the conductor carrier. The first and second contact projection regions are preferably spaced apart from one another and project beyond the conductor receiving surface on which the conductor carrier is fixed. The first and second contacting projection areas preferably project beyond the conductor receiving surface on the same side.
[0018] In a further preferred embodiment of the filter insert according to the invention, the contact projection area of the conductor carrier is designed to be deformable without damage, so that the contact projection area can be bent over by a contact element of the filter unit projecting into the insert receptacle when the filter insert is inserted into an insert receptacle of the filter unit. Preferably, the contact projection area is elastically deformed by the contact element of the filter unit projecting into the insert receptacle when the filter insert is inserted into the insert receptacle of the filter unit. The insert receptacle can be formed by an electrode frame of an ionizer of the
[0019] filter unit. In this case, the contact projection area also shortens the connection path between the ionizer and the filter insert. Alternatively, the insert holder can be a receiving chamber or a filter shaft of a filter housing of the filter unit. Because the contact projection area projects beyond the conductor receiving surface, there is no risk of the contact element pressing in the conductor receiving surface, which is supported, for example, by the side lamination of the filter insert. Sealing problems caused by pressing in the side lamination are thus effectively avoided. In addition, the contact element can be manufactured cost-effectively because it does not need to have spring properties. This also significantly reduces the assembly force required for installation. Furthermore, no additional installation space is required in the insert holder behind the filter insert for the contact element. In this case, a contact force is generated between the supply contact section and the contact elements due to the tendency of the contact projection area to deform back. This also leads to increased robustness against displacement and manufacturing tolerances. Due to the contact projection area, micro-movements during operation are not transferred to the contact point with the contact element, as the movement is compensated by the deformability of the contact projection area. The contact projection area can be a protruding contact tab.Preferably, a first contact projection region and a second contact projection region of the conductor carrier are designed to be deformable without damage, so that the first contact projection region can be bent by a first contact element of the filter unit projecting into the insert receptacle when the filter insert is inserted into the insert receptacle of the filter unit, and the second contact projection region can be bent by a second contact element of the filter unit projecting into the insert receptacle when the filter insert is inserted into the insert receptacle of the filter unit. The contact elements can be designed as contact brackets.
[0020] In an advantageous development of the filter insert according to the invention, the conductor carrier comprises at least one contact tab having an electrical conduction path, which is electrically conductively connected to the polarization electrode, wherein the electrical conduction path of the contact tab is wider than at least one other electrical conduction path of the conductor carrier. The conductor carrier preferably comprises a first contact tab having an electrical conduction path, which is electrically conductively connected to a first polarization electrode, and a second contact tab having an electrical conduction path, which is electrically conductively connected to a second polarization electrode. The electrical conduction paths of the contact tabs are preferably wider than at least one other electrical conduction path of the conductor carrier. The contact tab with its wide conduction path results in lower electrical resistance in the direction of the polarization electrode. This is particularly important when the filter unit has an ionizer and a polarization electrode serves as the ionizer's collecting electrode. In this case, it prevents unintentional buildup of voltage. The conduction path of the contact tab can, for example, be at least six times wider than another electrical conduction path of the conductor carrier. By varying the widths of the conduction paths, different electrical resistances can be implemented in certain areas. The use of multiple printing pastes or printing paste mixtures to implement different electrical resistances is no longer necessary. This significantly reduces printing complexity.
[0021] In a further preferred embodiment of the filter insert according to the invention, the at least one contact tab implements a contact offset in the longitudinal and / or transverse direction of the filter insert. The contact offset can be realized, for example, by an L-shaped or diagonally extending contact tab. The contact offset of the contact tab ensures reliable contact with a pleated polarization electrode, regardless of the direction of the pleats. This leads to a significant simplification of the process, particularly during bonding, and thus to a significant reduction in manufacturing costs.
[0022] In another preferred embodiment of the filter insert according to the invention, the at least one contact tab is electrically bonded to a polarization electrode using a cured electrically conductive adhesive. The electrically conductive adhesive can be a hot melt adhesive. This results in a simple and cost-effective electrically conductive fixation of the contact tab and thus a significant reduction in manufacturing costs.
[0023] The filter insert according to the invention is further advantageously developed in that the at least one electrical conduction path of the conductor carrier has widths that differ from one another in certain sections and / or the conductor carrier has several conduction paths with differing widths. The widths of the conduction paths can be selected depending on the resistance requirements of the electrical region.
[0024] Furthermore, a filter insert according to the invention is advantageous in which the at least one electrical conduction path of the conductor carrier has a meandering course in sections. In particular, if the conductor carrier has a voltage divider or is used as part of a voltage divider, a resistance path of suitable length can be implemented along the meandering course with minimal space requirements. This leads overall to an optimization of installation space and costs. Depending on the design of the voltage divider, a comparatively long resistance path may be required, across which the voltage then drops. Path sections running parallel to one another preferably have a minimum distance from one another to avoid arcing. The meandering course can also have a zigzag-shaped resistance path. This can save further space.Since there is no high voltage difference at the deflection points, the distance may be smaller here. The minimum distance between the path sections may be greater than 1 mm, in particular greater than 2 mm. The conductor carrier preferably does not have a dielectric protective layer on the one or more electrical conduction paths.
[0025] In a further development of the filter insert according to the invention, the at least one electrical conduction path of the conductor carrier forms a voltage divider or is a component of a voltage divider. A suitable polarization voltage can be tapped via the voltage divider, in particular via the length of the resistance path. Different conductor carriers can thus provide different polarization voltages. The filter material can be protected from breakdown damage by a series resistor. The conductor carrier eliminates the need for additional wiring.
[0026] The filter insert according to the invention is further advantageously developed in that the conductor carrier comprises an information code. The information code can comprise coded information. The information code can be, for example, a QR code or a barcode. The information code can be printed together with the at least one electrical conductor path. The information code can be formed from the same material as the at least one electrical conductor path. The information code can be used to identify the filter insert. The information code can be an identification code.
[0027] In an advantageous development of the filter insert according to the invention, the polarization electrode is designed as an electrically conductive polarization layer. The polarization layer preferably runs parallel to the electrically insulating filter material and / or is in surface contact with the electrically insulating filter material.
[0028] Furthermore, a filter insert according to the invention is preferred in which two electrically conductive polarizing electrodes, each formed as a polarizing layer, are separated from each other by the electrically insulating filter material. An electrical voltage can be applied to the polarizing layers to polarize the filter material. The electrically insulating filter material and the two electrically conductive polarizing layers preferably form a pleated layer composite.
[0029] The object underlying the invention is further achieved by a filter unit of the type mentioned above, wherein the filter insert of the filter unit according to the invention is designed according to one of the embodiments described above. Regarding the advantages and modifications of the filter unit according to the invention, reference is first made to the advantages and modifications of the filter insert according to the invention.
[0030] In a preferred embodiment, the filter unit according to the invention comprises a high-voltage ionizer, wherein the electrical supply module is configured to supply current to the ionizer. The electrical supply module thus serves to supply current to the filter insert for the purpose of polarizing the filter material and to supply current to the ionizer. A polarizing electrode of the filter insert can serve as the collecting electrode of the ionizer.
[0031] The object underlying the invention is further achieved by a method of the type mentioned at the outset, wherein the production of a conductor arrangement within the scope of the method according to the invention comprises the following steps: producing at least one electrical conduction path on a conductor carrier and arranging the conductor carrier carrying the electrical conduction path in a conductor receiving region of the filter insert.
[0032] By means of the method according to the invention, a filter insert according to one of the embodiments described above is preferably produced.
[0033] The provision of the electrically insulating filter material and the electrically conductive polarizing electrode is preferably carried out by providing a layer composite of an electrically insulating filter material and two electrically conductive polarizing electrodes separated from one another by the electrically insulating filter material, to which an electrical voltage can be applied in order to polarize the filter material.
[0034] The method according to the invention is further advantageously developed in that the conductor carrier is fixed to a conductor receiving surface in the conductor receiving region of the filter insert, in particular by gluing the conductor carrier to the conductor receiving surface. The conductor carrier can, for example, be a self-adhesive carrier film or a self-adhesive carrier label, or can be glued to the conductor receiving surface by means of an adhesive, for example a hot-melt adhesive. The method according to the invention is further advantageously developed in that the production of the at least one electrical conduction path on the conductor carrier takes place by printing the at least one electrical conduction path onto a carrier layer of the conductor carrier. Alternatively or additionally, the production of the at least one electrical conduction path on the conductor carrier comprises the production of a voltage divider, in particular a printed voltage divider, on the conductor carrier.
[0035] The method according to the invention is further advantageously developed in that at least one electrode contacting section of the conductor carrier is electrically conductively connected to the polarization electrode, in particular by bringing into contact and / or gluing a contacting tab of the conductor carrier to the polarization electrode.

[0050] Figure 1 shows a filter insert 10 of a filter unit 100 that can be used in a motor vehicle. The filter unit 100 serves, for example, as the interior air filter of the motor vehicle.
[0051] The filter insert 10 comprises a pleated layer composite 12 consisting of several layers. The layer composite 12 comprises an electrically insulating filter material 14 and two electrically conductive polarizing electrodes 16a, 16b. The polarizing electrodes 16a, 16b are designed as polarizing layers. A lower polarizing layer 16a is located below the filter material 14. An upper polarizing layer 16b is located above the filter material 14.
[0052] On the outer lateral edges of the pleated layer composite 12

[0054] The filter insert 10 further comprises a conductor arrangement 20 having two electrical conduction paths 22a, 22b. The electrical conduction path 22a is connected to the polarization electrode 16a of the layered composite 12. The conduction path 22b is connected to the polarization electrode 16b of the layered composite 12.
[0055] On the outer side of the material strip 18a is a conductor receiving surface 24. The conductor receiving surface 24 has a conductor receiving region 26 in which a conductor carrier 28 is arranged. The conductor carrier 28 is a carrier film or a carrier label. The conductor carrier 28 is glued to the conductor receiving surface 24.
[0056] The conductor carrier 28 carries the electrical conduction paths 22a, 22b of the conductor arrangement 20. The conductor carrier 28 can be manufactured separately from the rest of the filter insert 10 and subsequently arranged in the conductor receiving area 26. Thus, the conductor carrier 28 allows for cost-effective production and economical implementation of a wide variety of variants.
[0057] Fig. 2 shows that the conductor carrier 28 runs along a total of three sides of the filter insert 10. Namely, the conductor carrier 28 runs along the top side of the filter insert 10, along the bottom side of the filter insert 10, and along one side surface of the filter insert 10.
[0058] The conductor carrier 28 comprises supply contact sections 30a, 30b, which are arranged on the side surface of the filter insert 10 and serve for electrically conductive contact of the filter insert 10 with an electrical supply module 102 of the filter unit 100.
[0059] In addition, the conductor carrier 28 comprises two electrode contact sections 32a, 32b. The electrode contact section 32a runs along the underside of the filter insert 10 and is electrically conductively connected to the lower polarization electrode 16a. The electrode contact section 32b runs along the top side of the filter insert 10 and is electrically conductively connected to the upper polarization electrode 16b.
[0060] The electrical conduction paths 22a, 22b are printed electrically conductive tracks and are made of the same material. The material of the electrical conduction paths 22a, 22b is based on the same printing paste mixture.
[0061] Figures 3 and 4 show a filter insert 10 in which the supply contact sections 30a, 30b are connected to one another via an electrical conduction path 22. The electrical conduction path 22 of the conductor carrier 28 has a meandering course in sections and forms a voltage divider 34 with a resistance path 36. The electrode contact section 32a, which is connected to the lower polarization electrode 16a, branches off from the
[0062] Resistance section 36. The branch is continued along the
[0063] A suitable voltage level for the polarization of the filter material 14 is tapped from the resistance path 36 by means of the polarization electrodes 16a, 16b.
[0064] Fig. 5 shows a filter unit 100 with a filter insert 10, an electrical supply module 102, and an ionizer 104. The electrical supply module 102 serves to supply power to the filter insert 10 and to supply power to the ionizer 104. The supply module 102 is electrically conductively connected to an electrode frame 106 of the ionizer 104 and provides a high voltage to the ionizer 104. The high voltage is also applied to the supply contact sections 30a, 30b of the filter insert 10 via the contact elements 108a, 108b. A reduced voltage is applied to the polarization electrodes 16a, 16b of the pleated layer composite 12 via the voltage divider 34.
[0065] Fig. 7 shows a conductor carrier 28 designed as a carrier film or carrier label. The conductor carrier 28 comprises a carrier layer 38 defined as electrically non-conductive, with the electrical conduction path 22 being printed on the electrically non-conductive carrier layer 38. By definition, volume resistances > 10 A 9 Ohm*m, advantageous > 10 A 12 ohms*m, as electrically non-conductive carrier layers. The electrical conduction path 22 can be printed onto the carrier layer 38, for example, using a screen printing process. The carrier layer 38 can be, for example, a plastic film with the above-mentioned properties regarding electrical resistance, such as a PET film, a PE film, or a PP film. For example, the carrier layer 38 has a layer thickness of less than 0.5 mm. The meandering course has a zigzag-shaped resistance path 36.
[0066] The conductor carrier 28 has two contact tabs 40a, 40b, wherein the contact tab 40a is electrically conductively connectable to the polarization electrode 16a and the contact tab 40b is electrically conductively connectable to the polarization electrode 16b. The contact tabs 40a, 40b comprise the
[0067] Electrode contacting sections 32a, 32b and, due to the L-shape, each implement a contacting offset in the longitudinal and transverse directions of the filter insert 10.
[0068] Furthermore, the line carrier 28 comprises an information code 42 designed as a QR code, via which the filter insert 10 can be identified.
[0069] Figure 8 shows a filter insert 10 in which the pleats of the pleated layer composite run parallel to the material strip 18a. The contact tabs 40a, 40b are electrically conductively connected to the polarization electrodes 16a, 16b by means of a cured adhesive 44. The strip of cured adhesive 44 runs perpendicular to the direction of the pleats of the pleated layer composite 12.
[0070] Figure 9 shows a filter insert 10 in which the folds of the pleated layer composite 12 run perpendicular to the material strip 18a. The strip of cured adhesive 44 runs perpendicular to the direction of extension of the folds of the pleated layer composite 12.
[0071] Fig. 10 shows method steps in the production of a filter insert 10. In method step 200, a pleated layer composite 12 is first provided, consisting of an electrically insulating filter material 14 and two electrically conductive polarization electrodes 16a, 16b separated from one another by the electrically insulating filter material 14, to which an electrical voltage can be applied in order to polarize the filter material 14.
[0072] Subsequently, in method step 202, a conductor arrangement 200 is produced which has one or more electrical conduction paths 22, 22a, 22b electrically conductively connected to the polarization electrodes 16a, 16b.
[0073] The creation of the conductor arrangement comprises, in method step 202a, providing a carrier layer 38 of a conductor carrier 28. In step 202b, the carrier layer 38 is printed with an electrically conductive material to create the one or more electrical conduction paths 22, 22a, 22b. In step 202c, the conductor carrier 38 carrying the electrical conduction paths 22, 22a, 22b is arranged in a conductor receiving area 26 of the filter insert 10 and glued onto a conductor receiving surface 24.
[0074] Fig. 11 shows a filter insert 10 in which the supply contact sections 30a, 30b are located in contact projection areas 46a, 46b of the conductor carrier 28. The contact projection areas 46a, 46b protrude beyond the conductor receiving surface 24 of the material strip 18a. The supply contact sections 30a, 30b, which are located in the projecting contact projection areas 46a, 46b, serve to electrically conductively contact the filter insert 10 with an electrode frame 106 of an ionizer 104 of the filter unit 100. In other embodiments, the supply contact sections 30a, 30b serve to electrically conductively contact the filter insert 10 with mating contacts in a filter shaft of the filter unit.
[0075] The conductor carrier 28 further comprises two contact tabs 40a, 40b, wherein the contact tab 40a is electrically conductively connected to the polarization electrode 16a and the contact tab 40b is electrically conductively connected to the polarization electrode 16b.
[0076] Figures 12 and 13 show that the contacting projection areas 46a, 46b of the conductor carrier 28 are designed to be elastically deformable without damage, so that the contacting projection areas 46a, 46b are bent over by contacting elements 108a, 108b of the filter unit 100 projecting into the insert receptacle 110 when the filter insert 10 is inserted into an insert receptacle 110 of the filter unit 100.
[0077] When inserting the filter insert 10 into the insert holder 110 of the filter unit 100, the filter insert 10 is pushed in the insertion direction E onto the contact elements
[0078] 108a, 108b. The contacting elements 108a, 108b are designed as contacting brackets. After the contacting projection areas 46a, 46b have been bent by the contacting elements 108a, 108b, the tendency of the contacting projection areas 46a, 46b to recover ensures the generation of a contacting force between the supply contacting sections 30a, 30b and the
[0079] Contact elements 108a, 108b.
