Fine particles of dust and other pollutants in gas streams are agglomerated to form larger particles which are more easily filtered in downstream processing. In one embodiment, particles in successive portions of the gas stream are charged with opposite polarity, and the gas stream is introduced into an Evasé portion (12) to slow it down. Particles of different sizes have differential deceleration and therefore mix generally in the direction of flow, leading to agglomeration of oppositely-charged particles. In another embodiment, a gas stream is divided into substreams in respective parallel passages, and the particles in adjacent passages are charged to opposite polarity. Deflectors at the downstream end of the passages cause substreams of particles of opposite polarity to mix, with resultant agglomeration of oppositely charged particles.

Embodiments include systems and methods for integrated control of environmental conditions in an equipment enclosure. For example, a novel airflow inlet structure can be installed into a primary airflow path of the equipment enclosure. The airflow inlet structure can include an integrated electrostatic filter sub-structure and an integrated electromagnetic radiation (EMR) control sub-structure. During operation of equipment within the enclosure, air drawn through the equipment enclosure can flow through the primary airflow path in such a way as to flow through the electrostatic filter sub-structure; and the EMR control sub-structure can control EMR emitted by the equipment, such that EMR leaving the enclosure is attenuated to below a threshold level.

A unitary-enclosure housing apparatus and arrangement for protecting and cooling the high voltage electronic conditioning and filtering circuitry components used for providing a high-voltage waveform to an electrostatic precipitator device includes a hermetically sealed dielectric liquid coolant filled tank/housing having one or more side-mounted hollow-panel type radiator structures for dissipating heat from the coolant. The disclosed unitary-enclosure housing apparatus and the particular arrangement of the internal electronic components results in a relatively external small footprint while containing both the transformer-rectifier (TR) set and high-voltage resistor-capacitor (R-C) filter components associated with a high-voltage electrostatic precipitator device in a single unitary package. Air or gas cleaners enhance the uniformity of the current density between an emitter and one or more receptor electrodes by positioning one or more insulators or effective resistors between the emitter and the receptor electrode. Therefore, assembling errors can be limited to a minimal value; an anode plate dust collecting area is greatly improved simultaneously; a complex cathode wire framework suspension installation system and a complex cathode rapping ash removal device are left out so that sources of faults produced frequently are eliminated; and smoke dust emission concentration of the combined type electric deduster is reduced a value of 1 to 0mg/Nm<3>. The technology of the combined type electric deduster is suitable for large, middle and small electric dedusters.

An embodiment of the invention discloses a flue gas treatment device. According to the flue gas treatment device, a wet-type electric precipitator and a flue gas heater are integrated in an integrated flue shell, and the occupied area of the wet-type electric precipitator and the flue gas heater which are integrated together is smaller than the occupied area of the wet-type electric precipitator and the flue gas heater which are arranged separately. In addition, because the integrated flue shell does not have a bidirectional filtering flue, the flue gas flowing uniformity is high, flow equalizing orifice plates are not required to be arranged in the flue, resistance of flue gas is low, power consumption of a fan is reduced, and the efficiency of a power plant is improved.
