Abstract
Description
Method and device for monitoring a solar power generation system
[0001] The present invention relates to a method and device for monitoring a solar power generation system.
[0002] With the recent rise in interest in eco-friendly energy technologies, the installation of solar power generation systems, which utilize solar energy to generate electricity, is on the rise. Solar power systems generate electricity by collecting solar energy through solar panels. This electricity is then fed into the home power grid for household use or stored in batteries for later use. Solar power generation systems are gaining popularity due to their environmental friendliness and potential long-term savings on electricity bills.
[0003] As technology for solar power generation systems develops, monitoring their operation and managing them are increasingly recognized as crucial technologies. Most solar power system management technologies focus on methods for detecting solar module failures and, if detected, on post-failure solutions.
[0004] However, conventional technology suffers from a lack of matching between the unique information of each solar module and the strings connected to them, making it difficult to adapt to the actual module layout. Furthermore, if a solar module is replaced due to failure or other reasons, conventional technology faces the challenge of easily matching the monitoring information from the previous module.
[0005] In addition to errors detected in the firmware within the solar module, no system has been developed to detect normal or abnormal power generation during the process of collecting information from the power generation measurement of the solar power generation system and transmitting it to the server. Therefore, there is a need to develop a technology that detects modules in which errors have occurred and visually displays them on a layout diagram corresponding to the actual layout of the modules.
[0006] The technical problem to be solved by the present invention is to provide a method and device for monitoring a solar power generation system capable of managing the layout of solar modules, tracking replacement history, detecting power generation, and sending alarms for rapid error response.
[0007] Another technical problem to be solved by the present invention is to provide a method and device for monitoring a solar power generation system, which can easily modify the layout diagram to correspond to the actual layout of the module, and can provide the actual location of a module in an abnormal state by checking whether the module is generating power normally and the amount of power generated through real-time monitoring.
[0008] The problems addressed by the present invention are not limited to those mentioned above. Other problems and advantages of the present invention not mentioned above can be understood through the following description and will be more clearly understood through embodiments of the present invention. Furthermore, it will be appreciated that the problems and advantages addressed by the present invention can be realized by the means and combinations thereof set forth in the claims.
[0009] In order to solve the above-described problem of the present invention, a method for monitoring a solar power generation system according to an embodiment of the present invention includes the steps of: receiving information about the solar power generation system from an inverter; determining whether an error in the inverter or an error in a solar module has occurred based on whether the information has been received; and outputting a layout diagram of the solar power generation system and sending an alarm based on the type of error in the solar module when an error in the solar module has occurred; wherein the determining step may include the steps of: determining whether an error in the inverter has occurred if the information is not received; determining whether an error in the solar module has occurred based on the information when the information is received; and determining the type of error when it is determined that an error in the solar module has occurred.
[0010] In the present invention, the step of determining may include a step of determining the type of error by obtaining a unique identifier of the solar module in which an error has occurred, when the information is received and an error has been determined to have occurred in the solar module based on the information.
[0011] In the present invention, the judging step may include a step of judging the type of error based on the number of solar modules with a maximum power generation of 0 and the period during which the maximum power generation is 0 among the received information.
[0012] In the present invention, the determining step may include a step of determining a first type of error when the number of the solar modules having the maximum power generation of 0 is one and the period during which the maximum power generation of 0 is 0 is longer than a predetermined time, determining a second type of error when the number of the solar modules having the maximum power generation of 0 is two or more and the period during which the maximum power generation of 0 is 0 is longer than a predetermined time, and determining a third type of error when the number of the solar modules having the maximum power generation of 0 is half or more of the total number of the plurality of solar modules and the period during which the maximum power generation of 0 is 0 is longer than a predetermined time.
[0013] In the present invention, the outputting step may include a step of outputting the layout diagram corresponding to the actual layout of the solar modules, with each type of error mapped in a different color.
[0014] In the present invention, the sending step may include a step of sending the alarm corresponding to the type of error to the solar power generation system to which the unique identifier is assigned.
[0015] A device for monitoring a solar power generation system according to another aspect comprises at least one memory; and at least one processor; wherein the at least one processor receives information about the solar power generation system from an inverter, and determines whether an error in the inverter or an error in a solar module has occurred based on whether the information has been received, and if an error in the solar module has occurred, outputs a layout diagram of the solar power generation system based on the type of error in the solar module and transmits an alarm; and the at least one processor determines that an error has occurred in the inverter if the information has not been received, determines whether an error has occurred in the solar module based on the information if the information has been received, and determines the type of error if it has been determined that an error has occurred in the solar module.

[0037]
[0038] Figure 1 is an exemplary drawing for explaining an example of a device for monitoring a solar power generation system.
[0039] Referring to FIG. 1, a device (100) for monitoring a solar power generation system (hereinafter referred to as “device”) may include a memory (110) and a processor (120).
[0040] The device (100) illustrated in FIG. 1 only shows components related to the present embodiments, and it is obvious to those skilled in the art that other general components may be included in addition to the components illustrated in FIG. 1.
[0041] For example, the device (100) may be implemented as various types of devices such as a notebook PC, a desktop PC, a laptop, a tablet computer, a mobile device including a smart phone, a server device, an embedded device, etc. As a specific example, the device (100) may correspond to a smart phone, a tablet device, an AR (Augmented Reality) device, an IoT (Internet of Things) device, an autonomous vehicle, etc. that perform voice recognition, image recognition, image classification, etc. using artificial intelligence, but is not limited thereto. Furthermore, the device (100) may include a dedicated hardware accelerator (HW accelerator) mounted on the above-mentioned devices, and the device (100) may include a hardware accelerator such as an NPU (neural processing unit), a TPU (Tensor Processing Unit), a Neural Engine, etc., which are dedicated modules for artificial intelligence operation, but is not limited thereto.
[0042] The memory (110) is hardware that stores various data processed within the device (100), and may include a computer-readable recording medium. For example, the memory (110) may store data processed and data to be processed within the device (100). In addition, the memory (110) may store applications, drivers, etc. to be driven by the device (100). The memory (110) may include at least one of volatile memory and nonvolatile memory. The volatile memory may include dynamic random access memory (DRAM), static random access memory (SRAM), synchronous dynamic random access memory (SDRAM), phase-change random access memory (PRAM), magnetic random access memory (MRAM), resistive random access memory (RRAM), ferroelectric random access memory (FeRAM), etc. Non-volatile memory may include read-only memory (ROM), programmable read-only memory (PROM), electrically programmable read-only memory (EPROM), and electrically erasable programmable read-only memory (EEPROM).
[0043] In an embodiment, the memory (110) may include, but is not limited to, magnetic memory, CD-ROM, Blu-ray or other optical disk storage, hard disk drive (HDD), solid state drive (SSD), compact flash (CF), secure digital (SD), micro secure digital (Micro-SD), mini secure digital (Mini-SD), extreme digital (xD), or Memory Stick. In addition, the memory (110) may store an operating system and at least one program code (code for execution by a processor (120) operating with reference to FIGS. 2 to 8).
[0044] The processor (120) may control the overall functions for executing the device (100) with reference to FIGS. 2 to 8. For example, the processor (120) may control at least one other component (e.g., hardware or software component) of an electronic device connected to the processor (120) by executing software (e.g., program) stored in the memory (110) within the device (100), and may perform various data processing or operations to control the device (100) as a whole.
[0045] For example, the processor (120) can receive information about the solar power generation system from the inverter. In addition, the processor (120) can determine whether an error has occurred in the inverter or a solar module based on whether the information has been received. Specifically, if the information is not received, it is determined that an error has occurred in the inverter. If the information is received, it is determined whether an error has occurred in the solar module based on the information. If it is determined that an error has occurred in the solar module, the type of error can be determined. At this time, the processor (120) can determine the type of error based on the number of solar modules with a maximum power generation of 0 and the period during which the maximum power generation of 0 is received. More specifically, the processor (120) can determine that if the number of solar modules with a maximum power generation of 0 is one and the period of time during which the maximum power generation is 0 is longer than a predetermined time, it is a first type of error; if the number of solar modules with a maximum power generation of 0 is two or more and the period of time during which the maximum power generation is 0 is longer than a predetermined time, it is a second type of error; and if the number of solar modules with a maximum power generation of 0 is more than half of the total number of solar modules and the period of time during which the maximum power generation is 0 is longer than a predetermined time, it is a third type of error.
[0046] In addition, the processor (120) may output a layout diagram of the solar power generation system and send an alarm based on the type of error in the solar module when an error occurs in the solar module. Specifically, the processor (120) may output a layout diagram that corresponds to the actual layout of the solar modules and maps the error type with different colors. In addition, the processor (120) may send an alarm corresponding to the type of error for the solar power generation system for which a unique identifier has been acquired.
[0047] According to one embodiment, the processor (120) may be implemented as, but is not limited to, a central processing unit (CPU), a graphics processing unit (GPU), an application processor (AP), a neural processing unit (NPU), an image signal processor (ISP), a sensor hub processor, or a communication processor (CP) provided in the device (100).
[0048]
[0049] FIG. 2 is an exemplary drawing for illustrating a method for monitoring a solar power generation system, and FIG. 3 is an exemplary drawing for explaining the configuration of a solar power generation system according to one embodiment.
[0050] Referring to FIGS. 2 and 3 together, at step 201, the processor (120) may receive information about the solar power generation system from the inverter (302).
[0051] A solar power generation system may include a plurality of solar modules (303), a plurality of inverters (302), and a hub server (301). The plurality of solar modules (303) may be connected to strings to form a solar panel, and the MLPE (Module Level Power Electronics) attached to the solar panel may transmit monitoring information including the amount of power generated, temperature, and defect information of each solar module (303) and unique information of the MLPE to the inverter (302). At this time, the unique information of the MLPE transmitted to the inverter (302) may include a serial number.
[0052] The inverter (302) can collect information for monitoring and unique information received from the MLPE and transmit them to the hub server (301). The hub server (301) is a device (100) for monitoring the solar power generation system of FIG. 1 and can include a memory (110) and a processor (120). Accordingly, the processor (120) can receive information for monitoring the MLPE, which is information about the solar power generation system, and unique information from the inverter (302).
[0053] In step 202, the processor (120) can determine whether an error has occurred in the inverter (302) or in the solar module (303) based on whether information has been received.
[0054] That is, if information is not received, the processor (120) can determine that an error has occurred in the inverter (320), and if information is received, can determine whether an error has occurred in the solar module (303) based on the information, and if it is determined that an error has occurred in the solar module (303), can determine the type of error.
[0055] Specifically, when the processor (120) receives information about a solar module (303) whose maximum power generation is 0 from the inverter (302), it can determine that an error has occurred in the solar module (303), and when it requests the inverter (302) to transmit information but does not receive the information for a predetermined period of time, it can determine that an error has occurred in the inverter (302).
[0056] In addition, the processor (120) may receive unique information of the MLPE from the inverter (302), and if it is determined that an error has occurred in the solar module (303) based on the unique information, the processor (120) may obtain a unique identifier (UID) of the solar module (303) in which the error has occurred. The unique identifier may mean a slot number unique to the solar module (303), and when the solar module (303) is replaced, the serial number of the solar module (303) may change, but the unique identifier obtained by the processor (120) may not change. Using this, the processor (120) may track the change history of the solar module (303) in the slot.
[0057] The processor (120) can determine the type of error that has occurred based on the number of solar modules (303) with a maximum power generation of 0 and the period during which the maximum power generation of the solar modules is 0 among the information received from the inverter (302), and a detailed description thereof will be described later with reference to FIG. 4.
[0058] In step 203, the processor (120) can output a layout diagram of the solar system and send an alarm based on the type of error.
[0059] The layout diagram of the solar power system is a virtual layout diagram corresponding to the actual layout of the solar power modules (303), and the user can monitor the information of the solar power modules (303) in real time using the layout diagram. The processor (120) can visually display the solar power modules (303) in which an error has occurred on the layout diagram based on the type of error that has occurred, and a detailed description thereof will be described later with reference to FIG. 5.
[0060] In addition, the processor (120) can send an alarm containing information about an error to the user. Specifically, the processor (120) can extract information about an error that occurred in the solar module (303) or the inverter (302), and can send an alarm to the user if the transmission conditions are satisfied. In this case, the transmission conditions may include, but are not limited to, whether to send an alarm for each error, the transmission cycle, whether the user agrees to receive alarms, the reception cycle, the receiving account, the receiving device, etc. In addition, the processor (120) may also send an alarm only for an error that occurred in the solar module (303) for which a unique identifier has been obtained.
[0061] Users can modify information such as whether or not they agree to receive alarms, the reception cycle, the receiving account, the receiving device, etc., and can modify the transmission conditions in bulk or in part. When the transmission conditions are modified, the processor (120) can send an alarm based on the updated transmission conditions.
[0062] Additionally, the processor (120) can send an alarm containing information about when an error is resolved or solved.
[0063] Accordingly, when an error occurs, is detected, or is resolved or solved, the processor (120) can send an alarm containing information about the error to users, including power generation operators, power plant installers, etc., and the types of alarms may include, but are not limited to, messages, mails, app push alarms, etc.
[0064] In addition, the processor (120) can continuously send an alarm for a solar module (303) that is not connected to a string, and the processor (120) can send an alarm that collects errors that have occurred in the solar power generation system at predetermined intervals.
[0065]
[0066] FIG. 4 is an exemplary drawing for explaining a method for determining the type of error that occurred in a solar module according to one embodiment.
[0067] Referring to FIG. 4, the processor (120) can receive (401) information about the solar power generation system from the inverter (302), and can determine whether an error has occurred in the inverter (302) or the solar module (303) based on the received information. Specifically, if the processor (102) does not receive information from the inverter (302), it can determine that an error has occurred in the inverter (302), and if it receives (401) information from the inverter (302), the processor (120) can collect information received from the inverter (302) for a predetermined period of time to determine whether an error has occurred in the solar module (303), and if it is determined that an error has occurred in the solar module (303), it can determine the type of error.
[0068] In addition, the processor (120) can perform one of insertion, modification, and deletion of the received information in a database (DB), and the processor (120) can extract and compare the information received from the inverter (302) with information about a solar module (303) that has previously occurred or has an error from the database to determine whether an error has occurred and the type of error. For example, the third type of error may be a higher-level error than the second and first types of errors, and the second type of error may be a higher-level error than the first type of error, but is not limited thereto.
[0069] The processor (120) can determine that a first type of error has occurred in the solar power generation system if there is one module whose maximum power generation amount is 0 for a predetermined period of time, and in one embodiment, the predetermined period of time may be 72 hours, but is not limited thereto.
[0070] For example, the processor (120) may receive information about a first solar module whose maximum power generation for 24 hours is 0 from the inverter (302), collate it with information about the first solar module whose maximum power generation for the past 48 hours is 0 in the database, and determine (411) that a first type of error has occurred in the solar power generation system based on the state (410) that the first solar module has a maximum power generation for 72 hours of 0. A detailed description thereof will be described later with reference to FIG. 6.
[0071] The processor (120) can determine that a second type of error has occurred in the solar power generation system if there are two or more modules whose maximum power generation amount is 0 for a predetermined period of time, and in one embodiment, the predetermined period of time may be 48 hours, but is not limited thereto.
[0072] For example, the processor (120) may receive information about the first and second solar modules whose maximum power generation for 24 hours is 0 from the inverter (302), collate the information with the database about the first and second solar modules whose maximum power generation for the past 24 hours is 0, and determine (421) that a second type of error has occurred in the solar power generation system based on the state (420) that the first and second solar modules have a maximum power generation for 48 hours of 0. A detailed description thereof will be described later with reference to FIG. 7.
[0073] The processor (120) may determine that a third type of error has occurred in the solar power generation system if the number of modules with a maximum power generation of 0 for a predetermined period of time is more than half of the total number of modules, and in one embodiment, the predetermined period of time may be 24 hours, but is not limited thereto.
[0074] For example, the processor (120) receives information about the first to sixth solar modules whose maximum power generation amount for 24 hours is 0 from the inverter (302), and if the number of solar modules (303) constituting the solar power generation system is 10, it can determine (431) that a third type of error has occurred in the solar power generation system based on the state (430) in which the first to sixth solar modules have a maximum power generation amount of 0 for 24 hours. A detailed description thereof will be described later with reference to FIG. 8.
[0075]
[0076] FIG. 5 is an exemplary drawing for explaining a method by outputting a layout diagram of a solar power generation system according to one embodiment.
[0077] Referring to FIG. 5, the processor (120) can output a layout diagram (500) of a solar power generation system, and the user can check the layout diagram (500) using an application (App) (531) or a web (532). At this time, the layout diagram (500) may mean a visualization of solar panels (510, 520) based on the layout in which the solar modules (303) are actually installed. In addition, the user can move the position of the solar modules (303) on the layout diagram (500) using a drag and drop method, etc.
[0078] The user can monitor the solar panels (510, 520) or solar modules (303) using the layout diagram (500). Specifically, the processor (120) can map information such as real-time power generation, accumulated power generation, and temperature of the solar modules (303) received from the inverter (302) to the corresponding solar modules in the layout diagram (500). Accordingly, the user can monitor the layout, status, normal power generation, and information transmission of each solar module through the layout diagram (500), and can check the power generation and replacement history for each slot.
[0079] The processor (120) can visualize and express the solar modules (511, 521) in which an error has occurred and which have become abnormal. Specifically, the processor (120) can map an icon corresponding to the type of error to the solar modules (511, 521) in which an error has occurred, and can map by reflecting a color code for each type of error. For example, when a first type of error has occurred, the processor (120) can output a layout diagram (500) in which the solar modules (511, 521) or solar panels (510, 520) in which an error has occurred are mapped in yellow. In addition, when a second type of error has occurred, the processor (120) can output a layout diagram in which a plurality of solar modules or solar panels in which an error has occurred are mapped in orange. In addition, when a third type of error has occurred, the processor (120) can output a layout diagram in which a plurality of solar modules or solar panels in which an error has occurred are mapped in red.
[0080] In addition, when multiple types of errors occur, the processor (120) can output a layout that reflects only the icon or color code corresponding to the type of error of the highest level, and when the type of error of the upper level is resolved, the processor can output a layout that reflects the icon or color code corresponding to the type of error of the lower level.
[0081]
[0082] FIG. 6 is an exemplary drawing for explaining a first type of error that occurred in a solar module according to one embodiment.
[0083] Referring to FIG. 6, the processor (120) can determine that a first type of error has occurred in the solar power generation system if the number of solar modules (303) whose maximum power generation amount is 0 during a first time period in the same inverter (302) is one. In the following description, for convenience of explanation, the first time period will be described as 72 hours, but the present invention is not limited thereto.
[0084] For example, the processor (120) can receive information about solar modules A, B, and C whose maximum power generation is 0 from the inverter (302) and update the database (601). That is, the processor (120) can receive the time (colec_dtds) at which the information about the maximum power generation of the solar modules being 0 is received from the inverter (302), the location of the solar panel including the solar module (site_id), the inverter number (inverter_id), the name of the solar module (module_id), whether the solar module is assigned a unique identifier (is_assinged_uid), etc. and reflect them in the database (601). At this time, if the number is not assigned to the inverter, the processor (120) can <null>It can be reflected as Y if a unique identifier is assigned to the solar module, and Y if not. <null>It can be reflected in, but is not limited to,
[0085] The processor (120) is connected to an inverter to which an identifier has been assigned, and can extract information (602) about a solar module to which a unique identifier has been assigned, and if a transmission condition is satisfied, can send an alarm including information about the same to a user. At this time, the information included in the alarm sent to the user may include, but is not limited to, the location of the solar panel (site_id), the inverter number (inverter_id), the type of the solar module (device_type_cd), the type of error (alarm_cd), the time at which the database was updated when an error was determined to have occurred (update_dt), the name of the solar module (module_id), etc.
[0086] For example, the processor (120) may receive information about a solar module whose maximum power generation is 0 from 2023-06-26 00:00:00 to 2023-06-26 23:59:59 at 2023-06-27 00:00:00 and reflect it in the database (601). At this time, module A may mean a solar module whose inverter is not assigned an identifier and whose solar module is not assigned a unique identifier. Accordingly, although the processor (120) receives information about module A having a maximum power generation of 0 on June 27, 28, and 29, 2023, module A does not satisfy the transmission conditions because the inverter is not assigned a number and the solar module is not assigned a unique identifier, so the processor (120) may not send an alarm including information about module A to the user.
[0087] Module B may refer to a solar module connected to inverter 1 and having a unique identifier assigned to the solar module. Accordingly, the processor (120) may send an alarm containing information about module B to the user based on the information received on June 27, 28, and 29, 2023, that the maximum power generation of module B is 0.
[0088] A C module may refer to a solar module in which the inverter is not numbered and the solar module is assigned a unique identifier. Accordingly, although the processor (120) received information on the maximum power generation of the C module being 0 on June 27, 28, and 29, 2023, the processor (120) may not send an alarm containing information about the C module to the user because the C module does not meet the transmission conditions due to the inverter not being numbered.
[0089] Accordingly, the processor (120) can determine that the error that occurred in the solar power generation system is a first type of error (CM001) based on the fact that among the information about modules A, B, and C received on June 27, 28, and 29, 2023, only one module, module B, satisfies the transmission conditions, and can send an alarm including information about this to the user.
[0090]
[0091] FIG. 7 is an exemplary drawing for explaining a second type of error that occurred in a solar module according to one embodiment.
[0092] Referring to FIG. 7, the processor (120) may determine that a second type of error has occurred in the solar power generation system if the number of solar modules (303) whose maximum power generation amount is 0 during a second time period is two or more in the same inverter (302). For the convenience of explanation, the second time period will be described as 48 hours below, but the present invention is not limited thereto. In addition, the processor (120) may be connected to an inverter to which an identifier has been assigned, extract information (702) about a solar module to which a unique identifier has been assigned, and if a transmission condition is satisfied, may send an alarm including information about the same to a user.
[0093] For example, the processor (120) may receive information about solar modules A, B, C, D, and E whose maximum power generation is 0 from the inverter (302) and update the database (701). At this time, module D may refer to a solar module connected to inverter 1 and having a unique identifier assigned to the solar module. Accordingly, the processor (120) may send an alarm including information about module D to the user based on the information received on June 28 and 29, 2023, that module D has a maximum power generation of 0.
[0094] The E module may refer to a solar module connected to inverter 1 and having a unique identifier assigned to the solar module. Accordingly, the processor (120) may send an alarm containing information about the E module to the user based on the information received on June 28 and 29, 2023, that the maximum power generation of the E module is 0.
[0095] Accordingly, the processor (120) can determine that the error that occurred in the solar power generation system is a second type of error (CM002) based on the fact that among the information about modules A, B, C, D, and E received on June 28 and 29, 2023, the modules that satisfy the transmission conditions are modules B, D, and E, and can send an alarm including information about this to the user.
[0096]
[0097] FIG. 8 is an exemplary drawing for explaining a third type of error that occurred in a solar module according to one embodiment.
[0098] Referring to FIG. 8, the processor (120) may determine that a third type of air has occurred in the solar power generation system if the number of solar modules (303) with a maximum power generation amount of 0 during a third time period is more than half of the total number of solar modules (303) connected to the same inverter (302). For the convenience of explanation, the third time period will be described below as 24 hours, but is not limited thereto. In addition, the processor (120) may be connected to an inverter to which an identifier has been assigned, extract information (803) about a solar module to which a unique identifier has been assigned, and if a transmission condition is satisfied, may send an alarm including information about the same to a user.
[0099] For example, the processor (120) may receive information about solar modules A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, and K, whose maximum power generation is 0, from the inverter (302) and update the database (801). At this time, modules F, G, H, I, J, and K may refer to solar modules that are connected to inverter 1 and have a unique identifier assigned to the solar module. Accordingly, the processor (120) may send an alarm including information about modules F, G, H, I, J, and K, to the user based on the information received on June 30 and July 1, 2023, that the maximum power generation of modules F, G, H, I, J, and K is 0.
[0100] According to one embodiment, according to the database (802) reflecting the number of modules connected to each inverter, the number of solar modules connected to inverter No. 1 is 10, so the processor (120) can determine that a third type of error (CM003) has occurred in the solar power generation system if there are 5 or more solar modules among the solar modules connected to inverter No. 1 whose maximum power generation amount is 0 during the third hour.
[0101] Accordingly, the processor (120) can determine that the error that occurred in the solar power generation system is a third type of error (CM003) based on the fact that among the information received on June 30, 2023, the modules that satisfy the transmission conditions are modules B, D, and E, and among the information received on July 1, the modules that satisfy the transmission conditions are modules B, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, and K, and can send an alarm including information about this to the user.
