Abstract

The application provides a medical analyzer. The medical analyzer comprises: a vacuum pump; a discharge pipeline connecting the vacuum pump to a liquid container so as to discharge the liquid within the liquid container under a negative pressure generated by the vacuum pump; a degassing pipeline connecting the vacuum pump to a fluid source so as to remove gas dissolved in a fluid supplied by the fluid source under the negative pressure generated by the vacuum pump; and a control device configured to selectively communicate the vacuum pump to the liquid container or the fluid source. The application also provides a method for operating the above-mentioned medical analyzer. The medical analyzer according to the present application uses a single vacuum pump to realize both functions of discharging liquid and removing gas. In other words, it is not necessary to provide a separate vacuum pump for degassing, thus the cost of the medical analyzer can be significantly reduced, and the structure of the medical analyzer is more compact.

[0034] DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE EMBODIMENTS

[0035] The present application will now be described in detail below through exemplary embodiments with reference to the accompanying drawings. In several accompanying drawings, similar components and assemblies are represented by similar reference numerals. The following detailed description of the present application is for illustrative purposes only and is in no way a limitation of the present application, its application or usages. The embodiments described in this specification are not exhaustive and are merely some of  multiple possible embodiments. The exemplary embodiments may be implemented in many different forms, and should not be construed as limiting the scope of the present application. In some exemplary embodiments, well-known processes, well-known device structures, and well-known technologies may not be described in detail.

[0036] A medical analyzer according to the present application will be described below with reference to Fig. 1. It should be understood that the medical analyzer according to the present application should not be limited to the specific example shown in Fig. 1, but may be any suitable instrument to which the present invention is applied. For example, the medical analyzer may be a biochemical analyzer.

[0037] Fig. 1 is a structural schematic view of a portion of a medical analyzer 10 according to an embodiment of the present application.

[0038] As shown in Fig. 1, the medical analyzer 10 includes a vacuum pump 11, a discharge pipeline 13 connecting the vacuum pump 11 to a liquid container 12, and a degassing pipeline 15 connecting the vacuum pump 11 to a fluid source 14.

[0039] A membrane 18 is provided in the degassing pipeline 15. For example, the membrane 18 may be a gas-permeable but liquid-impermeable membrane. The fluid flowing out from the fluid source 14 flows through one side of the membrane 18, and a negative pressure is established on the other side of the membrane 18 by the vacuum pump 11, thereby the gas dissolved in the fluid supplied from the fluid source 14 is removed under the negative pressure. The degassed fluid is supplied to, for example, a sample tube, a reagent tube or a liquid container (for example, a cuvette) via a supply pipeline 19.

[0040] It should be understood that the membrane may be selected according to requirements and should not be limited to the specific examples described herein. It should be understood that the vacuum pump 11 may be used for any fluid from which gas needs to be removed, for example, it may be deionized water.

[0041] Similarly, the vacuum pump 11 may establish a negative pressure in the discharge pipeline 13, whereby the liquid (for example, waste liquid) in the liquid container 12 is pumped out under the negative pressure.

[0042] The medical analyzer 10 further includes a control device 16. The control device 16 selectively connects the vacuum pump 11 to the liquid container 12 via the discharge pipeline  13 to discharge the liquid in the liquid container 12, or connects the vacuum pump 11 to the fluid source 14 via the degassing pipeline 15 to remove the gas dissolved in the fluid supplied from the fluid source 14.

[0043] In the medical analyzer according to the present application, the cost of the medical analyzer may be significantly reduced and the structure of the medical analyzer may be more compact, since the vacuum pump may be alternately used to discharge the liquid in the liquid container and to remove the gas dissolved in the fluid such as deionized water.

[0044] In the example shown in Fig. 1, a first container 151 may be provided in the degassing pipeline 15. A vacuum chamber is defined in the first container 151, so that a stable negative pressure may be provided in the degassing pipeline 15, thereby improving the degassing performance. Similarly, a second container 131 may be provided in the discharge pipeline 13. A vacuum chamber is defined inside the second container 131, so that a stable negative pressure may be provided in the discharge pipeline 13, thereby improving liquid discharge performance.

[0045] It should be understood that the structures of the first container and the second container should not be limited as long as the functions described herein may be achieved. For example, the first container and the second container may have different structures or dimensions.

[0046] In the medical analyzer according to the present application, the first container and / or the second container are provided in the degassing pipeline and / or the discharge pipeline, so it is possible to provide more stable negative pressure (s) and thereby improve the reliability or stability of degassing and / or liquid discharge.

[0047] As shown in Fig. 1, a three-way directional valve 17 may be provided between the discharge pipeline 13, the degassing pipeline 15 and the vacuum pump 11. The three-way directional valve 17 may be switched between a first state in which the vacuum pump 11 is communicated with the liquid container 12 and a second state in which the vacuum pump 11 is communicated with the fluid source 14.

[0048] In the example shown in Fig. 1, the three-way directional valve 17 may have three ports 17a, 17b and 17c. The port 17a is communicated with the vacuum pump 11, the port 17b is communicated with the liquid container 12, and the port 17c is communicated with the fluid  source 14. The port 17a may be selectively communicated with the port 17b or the port 17c. When the port 17a is communicated with the port 17b, the vacuum pump 11 may be communicated with the liquid container 12, whereby the liquid in the liquid container 12 may be discharged. When the port 17a is communicated with the port 17c, the vacuum pump 11 may be communicated with the fluid source 14, whereby gas in the fluid may be discharged.

[0049] The three-way directional valve 17 may be controlled or switched by the control device 16. The three-way directional valve 17 may be alternately switched to enable the vacuum pump 11 to be communicated with the liquid container 12 or the fluid source 14. For example, based on the operation characteristics of the medical analyzer, the three-way directional valve 17 may be switched at a predetermined timing sequence. The predetermined timing may be predetermined and stored in a memory (not shown) of the control device 16.

[0050] It should be understood that the three-way directional valve 17 shown in Fig. 1 is only one example of a reversing device according to the present application. The reversing device should not be limited to the three-way directional valve shown in Fig. 1, but may be varied as long as it may realize the functions described herein. For example, the reversing device may include on-off valves respectively provided in the discharge pipeline and the degassing pipeline.

[0051] As shown in Fig. 1, a sensor 153 may also be provided to sense the pressure in the degassing pipeline 15. The sensor 153 may be provided at any suitable position. For example, the sensor 153 may be provided in the first container 151 in the degassing pipeline 15 to sense the negative pressure in the first container 151.

[0052] The sensor 153 may send the sensed pressure to the control device 16. The control device 16 may control the operation of the vacuum pump 11 or switch the three-way directional valve 17 based on the received sensed pressure.

[0053] It should be understood that the arrangement of the sensor should not be limited to the specific example shown in the accompanying drawings or described herein, but may be varied as long as the functions described herein may be realized. For example, the sensor 153 may be provided on the vacuum side of the membrane 18.

[0054] In the medical analyzer according to the present application, the negative pressure for degassing is sensed by the sensor, so that the abnormality during degassing may be found and  handled in time to prevent the detection result from being affected. Therefore, the detection accuracy and distribution performance of the medical analyzer may be improved.

[0055] It should be understood that the structure of the medical analyzer according to the present application should not be limited to the specific example shown in Fig. 1, but may be varied as long as the functions described herein may be realized.

[0056] A method for operating a medical analyzer according to an embodiment of the present application will be described below with reference to Fig. 2. Fig. 2 is a flowchart of a method S10 for operating the medical analyzer 10.

[0057] As shown in Fig. 2, in step S11, the medical analyzer 10 is first started and operated.

[0058] The vacuum pump 11 is started so that it is communicated with the liquid container 12 to discharge liquid, such as waste liquid, from the liquid container 12. When a fluid (e.g., deionized water) is supplied from the fluid source 14, the vacuum pump 11 is switched to be in communication with the fluid source 14 so as to remove the gas in the fluid flowing out from the fluid source 14. The control device 16 alternately places the vacuum pump 11 to be in fluid communication with the liquid container 12 and the fluid source 14, so as to alternately discharge liquid from the liquid container 12 and gas in the fluid (e.g., deionized water) , see step S13.

[0059] Referring to step S15, the pressure in the degassing pipeline 15 is sensed by the sensor 153. This enables real-time monitoring of the degassing process. If the negative pressure in the degassing pipeline 15 is too small, the gas in the fluid may not be discharged well or completely, thereby resulting in inaccurate detection result. The control device 16 may control the vacuum pump 11 based on the sensed pressure, for example, by starting or stopping the operation of the vacuum pump 11, switching the state in which the vacuum pump 11 is communicated with the liquid container 12 or the fluid source 14, and so on.

[0060] In step S17, it is determined whether the negative pressure sensed by the sensor 153 is within a normal range (threshold range) . If the sensed negative pressure is within the normal range, the method returns to step S11 and the medical analyzer is continued to operate. If the sensed negative pressure is outside the normal range, an alarm may be issued to warn an operator of abnormal degassing. For example, the alarm may be issued in the form of light and / or sound. After receiving the alarm, the operator may manually intervene or stop the  operation of the medical analyzer to eliminate the fault. After the fault is eliminated, the operation of the medical analyzer may be resumed again.

[0061] It should be understood that the method for operating the medical analyzer according to the present application should not be limited to the specific example shown in Fig. 2, but may be varied as long as the functions described herein are realized. For example, if there is no contradiction, the order in which the various steps of the method are performed need not be the same as described herein, but may be varied. For example, a certain step may be added or omitted depending on the operation requirements of the medical analyzer.
