Description

[0001] DESCRIBTION

[0002] OPERATING MICROSCOPE FILTER

[0003] FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[0004] The present invention relates to the operating microscope filter, which is used to get clear and sensitive images by filtering the visible laser light during imaging and recording in surgeries where the operating microscope (3) and the medical laser device which creates visible laser light are used simultaneously.

[0005] BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0006] Operating microscopes (3) are surgical devices to use for magnification and wide angle viewing where requiring microsurgery like ophthalmic surgery, brain surgery, lumbar and cervical disc herniation surgery, spinal cord surgery, muscle and tissue injuries, vascular and nerve incisions, nerve transplantation and compression, muscle, bone, vascular and skin transplantation operations and tumor removal surgery. Medical laser devices with different technical features have been used in the surgeries mentioned above since the 1950s. The medical laser devices used have different wavelength specific according to the tissue and application, so that application or treatment is performed with visible or invisible laser beams.

[0007] Visible laser beams are created by the lasers in the 400 and 700 wavelength range. As the name suggests, laser beams in the 400-700 wavelength range are visible with the naked eye. Exposure to laser beam of 400-550 wavelength with the naked eye is extremely harmful as these beams will be absorbed by the retina tissue. For this reason, operating microscopes (3) protect the user with laser protection filters placed before the eyepiece used. Laser protection filters are used to transmit the light of the desired wavelength and block the light of the unwanted wavelength. In the manufacture of laser protection filters, which began to be used in the 1960s, special optical filter glass or plastics are often used as the basic material. Laser filters include optical filters such as bandpass, longpass, or notch. Different filters are also available for narrow wavelength selection or transmission widths. Imaging during surgery can be recorded for purposes such as archive, education and presentation. This imaging and recording takes place by sending the image taken from the operating microscope (3) to the image recorder and the screen. The visible wavelength laser beam obtained from the laser used during imaging and recording appears the same way in imaging and recording. This is an undesirable situation for situations that require clear and precise imaging and for presentations and visualizations to be made with surgical records. PURPOSE OF THE INVENTION

[0008] The operating microscope (3) can be used simultaneously with medical laser devices that produce visible laser beam. During such surgeries, surgical images can be recorded for archive, training and presentation purposes. Recordings are made by sending the image taken from the operating microscope (3) to the image recorder and the screen. However, the visible laser beam used in the recordings is reflected in the recording. The visible wavelength laser beam obtained from the laser used during imaging and recording appears the same way in imaging and recording. This is an undesirable situation for situations that require clear and precise imaging and for presentations and visualizations to be made with surgical records. The purpose of the invention is to filter (2) visible laser beams and prevent them from being reflected in the image and recording.

[0009] It is obvious that other purposes and advantages related to the invention can be understood by the reader and will be within the scope of this invention.

[0010] DESCRIPTIONS OF DRAWINGS

[0011] The invention will be explained with reference to the attached drawings, so that the features of the invention will be more clearly understood and appreciated. However, this is not intended to limit the invention to these particular embodiments. On the contrary, it is intended to cover all alternatives, modifications and equivalents that may be included within the scope of the invention as defined by the appended claims. It should be understood that the details shown are for the sole purpose of illustrating preferred embodiments of the present invention and are intended to provide the most useful and easily understandable description of both the embodiment of the methods and the rules and conceptual features of the invention.

[0013] Reference Descriptions:

[0014] 1 . Holder

[0015] 2. Filter

[0016] 3. Operating Microscope

[0017] Holder: This part is the part with internal dimensions fit the laser filter (2) properly and ensures that the laser filter (2) remains fixed, and will be fixed to the oeprating microscope before imaging and recording with the teeth or screws formed next to it.

[0018] Laser filter: Laser filter (2) that filters visible laser beams

[0019] Operating microscope: Surgical device that magnifies tissue and working area in microsurgical operations. DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION

[0020] The filter (2) will be placed and fixed in a holder (1 ). It will enable it to be mounted on the operating microscope (3) with the threads or screws on the holder. With this method, during surgeries where visible wavelength medical laser devices are used, the visible laser beam will be filtered during the recording and imaging of the image obtained from the operating microscope, thus providing clear imaging and recording.
