Abstract
Description
[0001] STIMULATING SYSTEM WITH TASTE, SOUND, LIGHT AND VIBRATION FEATURES TO PREVENT THUMB SUCKING HABITS
[0002] TECHNICAL FIELD
[0003] The invention relates to a stimulating system with taste, sound, light and vibration features to prevent thumb sucking habits of infants in the 2-5 age group during their developmental periods.
[0004] PRIOR ART
[0005] Thumb sucking in children between the ages of 2-5 is a natural behavior of many children and usually ends spontaneously by the time they are a few years old. However, in some children, this habit may last longer and cause various problems. It is therefore very important to stop the thumb sucking habit before it becomes a habit in this age range.
[0006] There are several health risks associated with thumb sucking. Especially in children, when this habit is not stopped, deformation or irregularities occur in the teeth. If the child is still engaging in thumb sucking behavior when the permanent teeth begin to erupt, there may be problems with the placement of the front teeth, gaps in the teeth or difficulty in biting. The child may have difficulty making the "S" sound correctly. In addition, abnormal tooth development is likely to result in distortion of facial features. Moreover, if the habit of thumb sucking continues until around age 5, when a child starts going to school, it is a serious source of social stigma and can cause inferiority behavior and have a profound impact on one's social adjustment. Therefore, there are a variety of thumb sucking apparatuses or bitter-tasting apparatuses and devices available to prevent thumb sucking in infants during their developmental stages. However, these devices have not fundamentally solved the thumb sucking habit in infants. In the known art, the statement "help a baby say goodbye to the habit of biting hands and protect your fingers from injury with a glove” is included. Therefore, a complete solution to this problem is needed. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0007] The invention relates to a stimulating system with taste, sound, light and vibration features to prevent thumb sucking habits of infants in the 2-5 age group during their developmental periods. This system is not only useful in terms of physical features, but is also very important in terms of integrating technology into the product with the developing technology. In addition, in this arduous struggle of families to get their children to give up the habit of thumb sucking, the system enables daily or weekly monitoring of their children's thumb sucking habit and provides statistical analysis to see if there is progress in quitting. In addition, families who use our invention inject at least one of their own known bitter liquid, which the child does not like, into the thumb. Thus, families can adjust the liquid according to the allergy status of their children and do not feel uneasy because they put the liquid that their children taste themselves. In summary; thanks to this system: Damage to the tooth structure is prevented. Deterioration of the palate structure is prevented. Tongue and speech problems are prevented. Infections caused by thumb sucking are prevented. Since the thumb sucking habit enables the child to be socially affected and it is prevented from continuing in later ages, it is prevented from being socially affected.

[0019] The invention is characterized by the components of the body (1 ), thumb section (2), thumb fluid sac (3), porous structure (4), pressure sensor (5), stimulant (6), wristband (7) and main controller (8).
[0020] The body (1 ) is made of soft silicone structure in the form of half gloves. It must pass through both sides to be firm and is tied by the wrist. The body (1 ) covers a part of the hand and extends to the thumb. The structure covering the thumb is made of a soft material that does not prevent the joint from folding. It wraps around the wrist and opens and closes from here.
[0021] The thumb section (2) includes a pressure sensor (5) that covers the thumb and detects the pressure that occurs when the baby sucks the thumb. This pressure sensor (5) consists of two thin layers surrounding the thumb on the outer part of the thumb. In the case of thumb sucking, the pressure sensor (5) creates a short circuit with the contact of the metals with each other with the pressure applied on it and transmits the resulting signal to the main controller (8) in the wristband (7). The thumb section (2) includes the thumb fluid sac (3) and the porous structure (4) and the pressure sensor (5) that detects the thumb sucking condition. The thumb fluid sac (3) is located on the posterior surface of the thumb section (2). The thumb fluid sac (3) is injected by the family with a liquid preferred by the family (a taste such as lemon juice, salt water that the child will not like when he / she puts it in his / her mouth). This liquid comes out of the pores with the pressure that occurs when the child puts his thumb in his / her mouth. It is ensured that the child who does not like the taste of the liquid in it takes his / her thumb out of his / her mouth. The other structure in the thumb section (2), the porous structure (4) in accordance with the standards, allows the thumb to breathe. The other structure in the thumb section (2), the porous structure (4) in accordance with the standards, allows the thumb to breathe.
[0022] The wristband (7) of our invention is adjusted according to the wrist thickness of the child by attaching two metals. The main controller (8) placed in the wristband (7) detects the pressure by communicating with the pressure sensor (5). The main controller (8) is not visible from the outside and the baby cannot reach this main controller (8). The main controller (8) shall be capable of making an audible, vibrating and light warning by processing and evaluating the signal from the thumb part and shall be capable of transmitting this data to the internet interface using the Wi-Fi communication protocol. Therefore, the main controller (8) provides communication and warning functions and communicates to the parent how many times the child sucks thumb by contacting the phone. The parent adjusts the stimulus to at least one of the acoustic stimulus, vibratory stimulus, light stimulus, and night mode (the mode in which there is no acoustic stimulus, vibration, and light stimulus, but only the fluid that comes when the child puts his / her thumb in his / her mouth) when the child sucks his / her thumb. Naturally, when the stimulus (6) puts the child's thumb in his / her mouth, it gives the warning as set by the parent. Adjustments and arrangements in the device for warning are provided by telemetry sensors communicating with the Wi-Fi protocol by phone. In order to change the warning, the parent connects to the online interface program of the device and determines the desired feature of the device as active or passive mode.
[0023] Through the main controller (8) in our invention, it is ensured that the family is stimulated with the audible and light stimuli that the child sucks his / her thumb, and at the same time, the family follows this action of the child through the mobile application with Wi-Fi communication. In addition, the thumb fluid sac (3) in this system supports the family and the child to stop sucking the child's thumb. The material injected into the thumb fluid sac (3) is left to the initiative of the family. This situation makes the family feel safer and the child feels safer because the child adjusts the tastes he / she likes and / or dislikes according to his / her allergic condition. In addition, the number of suction and warning modes of the child are controlled by the selection of the system through the mobile application. With the mobile application, the system is used in 3 states as silent, audible and vibration mode.
