Abstract
Description
Coating composition for half shoes and half shoes
[0001] The present invention relates to a coating composition for a half shoe and a half shoe.
[0002] During rhythmic gymnastics, stress is concentrated mainly on the area of the sole of the foot from the ball of the big toe to the ball of the little toe. Therefore, half shoes, which only cover the front half of the foot, have the problem of being easily worn out due to the friction generated when landing from spins and jumps. Furthermore, due to the nature of the material, the soles of half shoes are slippery, which can increase the risk of the user falling during performances.
[0003] As a solution to the above problem, half shoes made of natural cowhide and having a non-slip bottom are provided (Patent Documents 1 to 3).
[0004] Patent No. 4643756 Patent No. 5120743 Patent No. 6582162
[0005] The above-mentioned half shoes use natural cowhide leather to provide a non-slip sole. However, in a humid environment or when the half shoes become wet due to the user's sweat, the natural cowhide leather sole becomes slippery. This may increase the risk of the user falling during performance. Furthermore, the durability of natural cowhide leather decreases when it becomes wet. Therefore, using half shoes in wet conditions may increase the risk of damage to the sole due to friction generated when the user turns or lands after a jump.
[0006] The present invention has been made to solve the above-mentioned problems, and has as its object to provide a coating composition for half shoes that can adjust the frictional force generated between the soles of wet half shoes and the floor or mat, and that can also prevent damage to the soles, and half shoes having a coating film of the coating composition.

[0012] A half shoe according to a sixth embodiment of the present invention has, on its sole, a coating film of a coating composition for half shoes that contains an acrylic resin, a viscosity modifier, ammonia water, a surfactant, and water.
[0013] The half shoe according to the seventh embodiment of the present invention has, from the sole, a first coating film which is a coating film of a coating composition for half shoes containing: composition (A) containing one or more vegetable waxes selected from jojoba wax and carnauba wax, one or more animal waxes selected from beeswax and lanolin, and mineral oil; composition (B) containing one or more vegetable waxes selected from jojoba wax and carnauba wax, one or more animal waxes selected from beeswax and lanolin, an organic solvent, and water; and a second coating film which is a coating film of a coating composition for half shoes containing an acrylic resin, a viscosity modifier, aqueous ammonia, a surfactant, and water.
[0014] The coating composition for half shoes of the present invention can adjust the frictional force generated between the sole of the half shoes and the floor or mat, even when the half shoes are wet, and can also prevent damage to the sole, thereby providing half shoes that allow the user to perform smooth turns and light jumps.
[0015] 1A and 1B are plan and bottom views of a half shoe according to an embodiment of the present invention;
[0016] 1. First Embodiment The following is a first embodiment of the present invention. However, it goes without saying that the present invention is not limited to this embodiment.
[0017] The coating composition for half shoes according to the first embodiment of the present invention (hereinafter referred to as "coating composition (1)") contains at least one of a composition (A) containing one or more vegetable waxes selected from jojoba wax and carnauba wax, one or more animal waxes selected from beeswax and lanolin, and mineral oil, and a composition (B) containing one or more vegetable waxes selected from jojoba wax and carnauba wax, one or more animal waxes selected from beeswax and lanolin, an organic solvent, and water.
[0018] The coating composition for half shoes according to this embodiment is used, for example, on the sole of a half shoe, and is preferably used for a half shoe 10 as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 . That is, the half shoe 10 shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 has an upper surface 110 made of natural leather (natural cowhide), a lower surface 120 made of natural leather (natural cowhide), an insole 140, a cover 150, an annular rubber string (first elastic body) 160, and an annular rubber string (second elastic body) 170. The upper surface 110 and the lower surface 120 are sewn together to form an opening 130. The cover 150 is sewn to cover a portion of the upper surface 110 and the lower surface 120. The annular rubber string 160 is sewn to a predetermined position on the upper surface 110, and the annular rubber string (second elastic body) 170 is sewn to a predetermined position on the lower surface 120.
[0019] The coating composition (1) is preferably applied to the bottom surface portion 120b (sole) of the lower surface portion 120 of the half shoe 10. The bottom surface portion 120b is preferably not brushed or not brushed. When the coating composition (1) is applied to the bottom surface portion 120b that is not brushed or not brushed, the bottom surface portion 120b becomes moderately moist and the components contained in the coating composition (1) permeate the bottom surface portion 120b, making the bottom surface portion 120b more flexible. The method for applying the coating composition (1) to the bottom surface portion 120b is not particularly limited, and any known method can be used. The coating composition (1) only needs to be applied to at least a portion of the bottom surface portion 120b.
[0020] When a user performs on a floor, the frictional force generated between the bottom surface 120b and the floor is small, allowing the user to easily rotate and maintain rotation. On the other hand, when a user performs on a mat, the frictional force generated between the bottom surface 120b and the mat is relatively large, making it more difficult for the user to rotate and maintain rotation than when performing on a floor. However, the coating film formed by applying the coating composition (1) can appropriately adjust the frictional force generated between the bottom surface 120b and the mat and floor, even when the bottom surface 120b is wet. Furthermore, the coating composition (1) can make the bottom surface 120b more flexible. Therefore, whether on a mat or floor, the user can rotate more easily and maintain a stable rotation during their performance. It can also prevent the user from accidentally falling. Furthermore, the coating film can prevent excess moisture from seeping into the bottom surface 120b. Thus, the coating composition (1) can provide half shoes that allow users to perform smooth rotations and light jumps.
[0021] The coating film can also protect the bottom surface 120b of the half shoe 10 from dirt and friction that occurs during the user's performance. The coating film can also maintain the flexibility of the bottom surface 120b even after the half shoe 10 has dried. The coating film also has a moderate gloss, which can improve the appearance of the half shoe 10. The coating film can also improve the durability of the bottom surface 120b. In this way, the coating composition (1) can suppress deterioration of the half shoe due to use.
[0022] The coating composition (1) contains at least one of the composition (A) and the composition (B). The coating composition (1) containing both the composition (A) and the composition (B) can be obtained by mixing and stirring the composition (A) and the composition (B). Known methods can be used to mix and stir the composition (A) and the composition (B). In this case, the mixing ratio of the composition (A) to the composition (B) can be, in mass %, 1:9 to 9:1, 2:8 to 8:2, or 3:7 to 7:3.
[0023] Composition (A) <Vegetable Wax> One or more vegetable waxes selected from jojoba wax and carnauba wax can be used. Jojoba wax is particularly preferred. The vegetable wax facilitates penetration of the coating composition (1) into the bottom (bottom surface 120b) of the half shoe and can suppress temperature changes in the formed coating film. The amount of vegetable wax blended can be 40% by mass or more and 95% by mass or less, 50% by mass or more and 95% by mass or less, or 60% by mass or more and 95% by mass or less, based on the total amount of composition (A).
[0024] <Animal Wax> One or more animal waxes selected from beeswax and lanolin can be used. Lanolin is particularly preferred. Animal wax can make the sole of the half shoe flexible, thereby reducing stiffness of the dried sole. The amount of animal wax blended can be 5% by mass or more and 30% by mass or less, 5% by mass or more and 25% by mass or less, or 5% by mass or more and 20% by mass or less, based on the total amount of composition (A).

The amount of mineral oil to be blended can be 5% by mass or more and 30% by mass or less, 5% by mass or more and 25% by mass or less, or 5% by mass or more and 20% by mass or less, based on the total amount of composition (A).
[0026] Composition (B) <Vegetable wax> One or more vegetable waxes selected from jojoba wax and carnauba wax can be used. The amount of the vegetable wax blended can be 10% by mass or more and 50% by mass or less, 15% by mass or more and 50% by mass or less, or 20% by mass or more and 50% by mass or less, based on the total amount of composition (B).
[0027] One or more animal waxes selected from beeswax and lanolin can be used. Beeswax is particularly preferred. The amount of animal wax blended can be 10% by mass or more and 50% by mass or less, 15% by mass or more and 50% by mass or less, or 20% by mass or more and 50% by mass or less, based on the total amount of composition (B).
[0028] <Organic Solvent> Known organic solvents such as ethylene glycol, diethylene glycol, glycerin, and propylene glycol can be used as the organic solvent. These can be used alone or in combination. The addition of an organic solvent makes it easier for the components of the coating composition (1) to be mixed uniformly. The amount of the organic solvent can be 5% by mass or more and 50% by mass or less, 10% by mass or more and 50% by mass or less, or 15% by mass or more and 50% by mass or less, based on the total amount of the composition (B).
[0029] <Water> The addition of water makes it easier to uniformly mix the components of the coating composition (1). The amount of water to be added may be 5% by mass or more and 50% by mass or less, 10% by mass or more and 50% by mass or less, or 15% by mass or more and 50% by mass or less, based on the total amount of the composition (B).
[0030] <Other Components> The coating composition (1) may contain other wax components, oils and fats, antibacterial components, resins, and the like.

[0033] The coating composition (2) is used on the bottom of the half shoe, and is preferably used on the half shoe 10 as shown in Figs. 1 and 2 in the same manner as in the first embodiment.
[0034] The coating film of the coating composition (2) formed on the bottom surface portion 120b (hereinafter, simply referred to as the "coating film" in this embodiment) can smooth the surface of the bottom surface portion 120b, thereby appropriately adjusting the frictional force generated between the bottom surface portion 120b and the mat or floor, even when the bottom surface portion 120b is wet. Furthermore, the coating composition (2) can make the bottom surface portion 120b more flexible. This allows the user to rotate more easily and maintain stable rotations during performances on both the mat and the floor. It can also prevent the user from accidentally falling. Furthermore, the coating film can prevent excess moisture from seeping into the bottom surface portion 120b. Thus, the coating composition (2) can provide half shoes that allow the user to perform smooth rotations and light jumps.
[0035] The coating film can also protect the bottom surface 120b of the half shoe from dirt and friction that occurs during the user's performance. The coating film can also maintain the flexibility of the bottom surface 120b even after the half shoe 10 has dried. The coating film also has a moderate gloss, which can improve the appearance of the half shoe. The coating film can also improve the durability of the bottom surface 120b. In this way, the coating composition (2) can suppress deterioration of the half shoe due to use.
[0036] <Vegetable Oil> One or more vegetable oils selected from almond oil and olive oil can be used. Vegetable oils can make the soles of the half shoes flexible, thereby reducing stiffness of the dried soles. The amount of vegetable oil to be added can be 5% by mass or more to 30% by mass or less, 5% by mass or more to 25% by mass or less, or 5% by mass or more to 20% by mass or less, based on the total amount of the coating composition (2).
[0037] <Vegetable butter> Vegetable butter including macadamia butter can be used. Vegetable butter can make the bottom of the half shoe flexible, thereby reducing the stiffness of the dried bottom. The amount of vegetable butter can be 5% by mass or more and 30% by mass or less, 5% by mass or more and 25% by mass or less, or 5% by mass or more and 20% by mass or less, based on the total amount of the coating composition (2).
[0038] <Animal Wax> Animal waxes including beeswax can be used. Animal waxes can make the soles of the half shoes flexible, thereby reducing the stiffness of the dried soles. [0040] <Other Components> The coating composition (2) may contain other wax components, oils and fats, antibacterial components, resins, and the like.
[0041] 3. Third Embodiment The following is a third embodiment of the present invention. However, it goes without saying that the present invention is not limited to this embodiment. A coating composition for half shoes according to the third embodiment of the present invention (hereinafter referred to as "coating composition (3)") comprises the above-mentioned coating composition (2), and a composition (other composition) containing one or more vegetable waxes selected from jojoba wax and carnauba wax, one or more animal waxes selected from beeswax and lanolin, an organic solvent, and water.
[0042] The coating composition (2) and the other compositions can be mixed and stirred by known methods. The mixing ratio of the coating composition (2) to the other compositions can be 3:1 to 1:1 by mass.
[0043] 4. Fourth Embodiment The following is a fourth embodiment of the present invention. It should be noted that the present invention is not limited to this embodiment.
[0044] A coating composition for half shoes according to a fourth embodiment of the present invention (hereinafter referred to as “coating composition (4)”) contains an acrylic resin, a viscosity modifier, aqueous ammonia, a surfactant, and water.
[0045] The coating composition (4) is used on the bottom of the half shoe, and is preferably used on the half shoe 10 as shown in Figs. 1 and 2 in the same manner as in the first embodiment.
[0046] Furthermore, the coating film of the coating composition (4) formed on the bottom surface portion 120b (hereinafter, simply referred to as the "coating film" in this embodiment) can smooth the surface of the bottom surface portion 120b, thereby appropriately adjusting the frictional force generated between the bottom surface portion 120b and the mat or floor, even when the bottom surface portion 120b is wet. The coating composition (4) can also make the bottom surface portion 120b more flexible. This allows the user to rotate more easily and maintain stable rotations during performances on both the mat and the floor. It can also prevent the user from accidentally falling. The coating film can also prevent excess moisture from seeping into the bottom surface portion 120b. In this way, the coating composition (4) can provide half shoes that allow the user to perform smooth rotations and light jumps.
[0047] The coating film can also protect the bottom surface 120b of the half shoe 10 from dirt and friction that occurs during the user's performance. The coating film can also maintain the flexibility of the bottom surface 120b even after the half shoe 10 has dried. The coating film also has a moderate gloss, which can improve the appearance of the half shoe 10. The coating film can also improve the durability of the bottom surface 120b. In this way, the coating composition (4) can suppress deterioration of the half shoe due to use.
[0048] <Acrylic Resin> The acrylic resin is obtained by polymerizing a monomer containing at least one of acrylic acid and its esters, and methacrylic acid and its esters. One or more acrylic resins can be used in combination. The acrylic resin can improve the adhesive strength of the coating film of the coating composition (4) to the sole and improve the durability of the coating film. The acrylic resin can also maintain the flexibility of the sole of the half shoe after drying. The amount of the acrylic resin can be 1% by mass or more and 15% by mass or less, 5% by mass or more and 15% by mass or less, or 5% by mass or more and 10% by mass or less, based on the total amount of the coating composition (4).
[0049] <Viscosity Modifier> Examples of viscosity modifiers include cellulose derivatives such as carboxymethyl cellulose and hydroxyethyl cellulose; and gums such as guar gum, xanthan gum, gum arabic, aguar gum, cellulose gum, and locust bean gum. These may be used alone or in combination. Among these, carboxymethyl cellulose is particularly preferred. The viscosity modifier can appropriately adjust the viscosity of the coating composition (4). Furthermore, the addition of the viscosity modifier facilitates uniform mixing of the components of the coating composition (4). The amount of the viscosity modifier may be 1% by mass or more and 10% by mass or less, 1% by mass or more and 8% by mass or less, or 1% by mass or more and 5% by mass or less, based on the total amount of the coating composition (4).
[0050] <Ammonia water> Ammonia water can adjust the pH of the coating composition (4). Furthermore, the addition of ammonia water makes it easier for the components of the coating composition (4) to be mixed uniformly. The pH of the coating composition (4) can be adjusted to 5.0 to 10.0. The amount of ammonia water to be added can be less than 1 mass % of the total amount of the coating composition (4).
[0051] <Surfactant> Examples of surfactants include nonionic surfactants, anionic surfactants, cationic surfactants, and amphoteric surfactants. These can be used alone or in combination. The addition of a surfactant makes it easier for the components of the coating composition (2) to be mixed uniformly. The amount of surfactant added can be less than 1% by mass of the total amount of the coating composition (4).
[0052] <Water> By using water as a main component of the coating composition (4), irritation to the user's skin can be suppressed. The amount of water to be blended can be 50% by mass or more and 90% by mass or less, 70% by mass or more and 90% by mass or less, or 80% by mass or more and 90% by mass or less, based on the total amount of the coating composition (4).
[0053] <Other Components> The coating composition (4) may contain other wax components, oils and fats components, antibacterial components, resins, and the like.
[0054] 5. Fifth Embodiment The following is a fifth embodiment of the present invention. It should be noted that the present invention is not limited to this embodiment.
[0055] A coating composition for half shoes according to a fifth embodiment of the present invention (hereinafter referred to as "coating composition (5)") contains an acrylic resin, a viscosity modifier, aqueous ammonia, a surfactant, and water, and is applied onto a coating film of another coating composition for half shoes (hereinafter referred to as "another coating composition") containing composition (A) containing one or more vegetable waxes selected from jojoba wax and carnauba wax, one or more animal waxes selected from beeswax and lanolin, and mineral oil, and composition (B) containing one or more vegetable waxes selected from jojoba wax and carnauba wax, one or more animal waxes selected from beeswax and lanolin, an organic solvent, and water. That is, in this embodiment, the other coating composition and coating composition (5) are applied in that order, starting from the sole.
[0056] The coating composition (5) is used on the bottom of a half shoe and is preferably used for a half shoe 10 as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 in the same manner as in the first embodiment. In this embodiment, another coating composition is first applied to the bottom surface 120b, which is not brushed or has not been brushed, and then the coating composition (5) is applied on top of that coating film. This allows the other coating composition to adequately moisten the bottom surface 120b, and the components contained in the other coating composition penetrate into the bottom surface 120b, making the bottom surface 120b more flexible. Furthermore, when the coating composition (5) is applied on top of the coating film of the other coating composition (hereinafter referred to as the "first coating film"), the first coating film prevents excess moisture from penetrating into the bottom surface 120b, thereby maintaining the condition of the bottom surface 120b, including its moistness.
[0057] The first coating film and the coating film of the coating composition (5) formed on the bottom surface portion 120b (hereinafter referred to as the "second coating film," and the first and second coating films collectively referred to as the "multiple coating films") can more appropriately adjust the frictional force generated at the interface between the bottom surface portion 120b and the mat or floor during a user's performance, even when the bottom surface portion 120b is wet. The coating composition (5) also makes the bottom surface portion 120b more flexible, making it easier for the user to rotate and maintain stable rotation during performance. It can also prevent the user from accidentally falling. The multiple coating films can further prevent excess moisture from seeping into the bottom surface portion 120b. Thus, the coating composition (5) can provide a half shoe that allows the user to perform smooth rotations and light jumps. The method for applying the coating composition (5) and other coating compositions to the bottom surface portion 120b is not particularly limited, and known methods can be used. The other coating composition may be applied to at least a portion of the bottom surface portion 120b, and the coating composition (5) may be applied to at least a portion of the first coating film.
[0058] Furthermore, the second coating film smoothes the outermost surface of the bottom surface 120b and appropriately adjusts the frictional force generated at the interface between the bottom surface 120b and the mat or floor during a user's performance, even when the bottom surface 120b is wet. This makes it easier for the user to rotate during their performance and allows them to maintain stable rotation. It also prevents the user from accidentally falling. In this way, the coating composition (5) can provide half shoes that allow the user to perform smooth rotations and light jumps.
[0059] Furthermore, the multiple coating films can better protect the bottom surface 120b of the half shoe 10 from dirt, friction, and the like that occurs during the user's performance. Furthermore, the multiple coating films can maintain the flexibility of the bottom surface 120b even after the half shoe 10 has dried. Furthermore, the multiple coating films have a moderate gloss, which can improve the appearance of the half shoe. Furthermore, the multiple coating films can improve the durability of the bottom surface 120b. Thus, the coating composition (5) can further suppress deterioration of the half shoe due to use.
[0060] The coating composition (5) may be the same as the coating composition (4) described above, and the other coating composition may be the same as the coating composition (1) described above.
