Abstract
Description
[0001] DESCRIPTION
[0002] Hinge with built-in stop mechanism
[0003] OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
[0004] The invention, as the title of this specification indicates, is a hinge with a built-in stop mechanism. This is an innovation that offers previously unknown advantages within current technology.
[0005] TECHNICAL SECTOR
[0006] The present invention falls within the fixed construction sector in the classification corresponding to locks, keys, door or window accessories and safes, especially in devices for moving the leaves from the open to the closed position or vice versa, brakes for leaves and equipment for leaves not provided elsewhere, related to the operation of the leaf.
[0007] STATE OF THE ART
[0008] The present invention arises from the need to avoid the purchase of additional stops, whether glued, screwed or mobile, which are placed on the floor to prevent doors from hitting the walls when opened.
[0009] Furthermore, these stops are inconvenient when cleaning the floor, and in the case of windows, the only alternative would be to place adhesive stops on the wall, which affects the aesthetics of the environment.
[0010] Consequently, this invention presents a hinge with a built-in stop mechanism that prevents unwanted impacts of doors against walls when opening, thus providing a practical and functional solution.
[0011] In turn, this hinge eliminates the need to purchase and install additional floor stops, resulting in a more comfortable and convenient cleaning experience. Currently, there is no known hinge with a built-in stop mechanism that has structural and constructive technical characteristics equal to or similar to those described in this specification, as claimed.
[0012] DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0013] The object of the present invention is the creation of a hinge with a built-in stop mechanism, which provides a notable innovation within its field of application in the current state of the art, the characterizing details that make it possible being conveniently included in the final claims that accompany this description.
[0014] The present invention concerns a hinge with a built-in stop mechanism, which prevents doors and windows, when opened, from hitting walls or other obstacles.
[0015] This invention presents a solution that prevents doors and windows from impacting against walls or other obstacles when opening.
[0016] This hinge is highly convenient, as it eliminates the need to purchase additional floor stops separately. Furthermore, there's no need to drill into the floor to screw or glue these stops in, which in turn prevents any hassle when cleaning or mopping the floor and any damage to the floor.
[0017] The hinge consists of a first hinge leaf that is connected to a second hinge leaf by means of a cylindrical pin that is inserted into a cylinder.
[0018] The stop mechanism consists of a tab and a projection. The tab is located on the outside of the cylindrical pin, while the projection is located on the outside of the cylinder.
[0019] The protrusion or boss acts as a fulcrum for the tab, restricting movement of the upper hinge leaf and preventing the hinge assembly from opening beyond a certain point.
[0020] In one embodiment, the stop mechanism can be adjusted using a washer with internal grooves located in the mouth of the cylinder. This washer engages a grooved surface of the cylindrical pin, allowing the stop angle to be adjusted as needed. To use the hinge, simply install it on the door or window, ensuring that the cylindrical pin is correctly inserted into the cylinder, with the tab on the correct side of the protrusion. Once installed, the hinge allows the upper hinge leaf to move relative to the lower hinge leaf, providing flexibility and facilitating the opening and closing of doors, windows, or other elements.
[0021] With the stop mechanism properly adjusted, the opening angle can be controlled to prevent the hinge from opening beyond a certain point. This hinge is a reliable and durable solution for applications requiring smooth, secure movement.
[0022] EXPLANATION OF THE FIGURES
[0023] To complete the description being made and in order to help better understand the characteristics of the invention, this specification is accompanied, as an integral part thereof, by some figures in which, for illustrative and non-limiting purposes, the following has been represented.
[0024] Figure 1 illustrates a perspective view of the hinge with built-in stop mechanism, showing the first embodiment.
[0025] Figure 2 illustrates a perspective view of the hinge with built-in stop mechanism, showing the second embodiment.
[0026] PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION.
[0027] The hinge with built-in stop mechanism comprises a set of hinges (1) with a built-in stop mechanism (2), which prevents the doors and windows, when opened, from hitting walls or other obstacles.
[0028] In a first embodiment, the stop mechanism (2) includes a tab (2.1) and a first projection or shoulder (2.5), each connected to the cylindrical pin (1.2) or to the cylinder (1.3), the connection being fixed. In such a way, when the tab (2.1) comes into contact with the first shoulder (2.5), it acts as a stop, preventing movement.
[0029] In another embodiment, the stop mechanism (2) includes a tab (2.1) joined to the cylindrical pin (1.2) or to the cylinder (1.3) being the fixed joint, and a washer (3) with internal grooves (2.3) that carries a second projection or projection (2.2), fitting the internal grooves (2.3) into a grooved surface of the cylindrical pin (1.2) and the washer (3) configured to rotate with respect to the axis of the cylindrical pin (1.2). In this way, depending on the position in which we leave the washer (3) we can regulate the maximum opening angle of the hinge.
[0030] Typically, the tab (2.1) will be attached to the outside of the cylindrical pin (1.2), while the second projection or protrusion (2.2) is present on the outside of the cylinder (1.3).
[0031] Having sufficiently described the nature of the present invention, as well as the manner of putting it into practice, it is not considered necessary to explain it further so that any expert in the field may understand its scope and the advantages derived from it, stating that, within its essence, it may be put into practice in other embodiments that differ in detail from that indicated by way of example, and to which it will also achieve the protection sought provided that its fundamental principle is not altered, changed or modified.
