FIG. 5 is a diagram illustrating an example of a relationship graph according to the present disclosure. FIG. 6 is a block diagram illustrating an example hardware configuration of an information processing device according to the present disclosure.

[0012] Hereinafter, specific embodiments to which the present invention is applied will be described in detail with reference to the drawings. However, the present invention is not limited to the following embodiments. In addition, the following description and drawings have been simplified as appropriate for clarity of explanation.

[0013] An example configuration of an information processing device 10 will be described below with reference to FIG. 1 . The information processing device 10 can be used to visualize the relationships between multiple elements. In particular, the information processing device 10 can visualize updated parts when at least some of the multiple elements have been updated. The information processing device 10 can be used to understand the impact of updating elements.

[0014] 1 , the information processing device 10 includes an element information acquisition unit 11, an update information acquisition unit 12, and a display control unit 16. When a processor (e.g., a CPU) executes a program, the control unit of the information processing device 10 functions as the element information acquisition unit 11, the update information acquisition unit 12, and the display control unit 16.

[0015] The element information acquisition unit 11, also called element information acquisition means, acquires element information indicating a plurality of elements, including reference information in which one element references another element.

[0016] The update information acquisition unit 12, also called update information acquisition means, acquires update information indicating updates to at least a portion of the element information. The update information may include elements newly added to the element information, reference information newly referenced in the element information, modifications to at least a portion of the elements in the element information, deletion of at least a portion of the elements in the element information, etc.

[0017] The display control unit 16, also called a display control means, generates a relationship graph showing the relationships between elements based on reference information for the element information, and controls the display mode of updated parts of the generated relationship graph based on update information.

[0018] 2 is a flowchart showing an information processing method. The element information acquisition unit 11 acquires element information indicating a plurality of elements, including reference information in which one element references another element (S11). The update information acquisition unit 12, also referred to as update information acquisition means, acquires update information indicating updates to at least a portion of the element information (S12). The display control unit 16 generates a relationship graph indicating relationships between elements based on the reference information of the element information, and controls the display mode of updated portions of the generated relationship graph based on the update information (S13).

[0019] The information processing apparatus and method according to the embodiment described above can visualize the relationships between elements, and when an element is updated, can also visualize the updated parts.

[0020] <Exemplary Embodiment> Administrative processing systems for local governments are built in compliance with various laws. Periodic legal changes require vendors to understand the impact of legal changes on the system and modify the system accordingly. Here, laws include government and ministerial ordinances and local ordinances established by local governments. When developing administrative processing systems, government and ministerial ordinances can be collected from the e-Gov portal (https: / / www.e-gov.go.jp / ). Local ordinances can be collected individually from the websites of each local government.

[0021] As an example of legal reform, after the introduction of the My Number Card (Individual Number Card), the procedures required for moving were also changed. Below, we will explain an example of legal description obtained from the e-Gov portal, referring to this example.

[0022] (Notification of moving in) Article 22 Any person who moves in (meaning taking up a new address within the area of a city, town or village, excluding cases where the person is due to birth; the same applies hereinafter in this Article and Article 30-46) must notify the mayor of the city, town or village of the following particulars (in the case of a person who has never been recorded in the basic resident register of any city, town or village, the particulars set out in items 1 to 5 and item 7) within 14 days from the date of the move in. 1. Name 2. Address 3. Date of move 4. Previous address 5. For the head of household, a statement to that effect; for a non-head of household, the name of the head of household and the relationship to the head of household 6. Resident registration code before move (this refers to the resident registration code most recently entered on the resident registration of a person who has moved in by the mayor of the city, town or village that most recently entered it on the resident registration); 7. For persons who have moved in from abroad or other persons specified by Cabinet Order, the items set out in the preceding items and other items specified by Cabinet Order. 2. A person who files a notification pursuant to the provisions of the preceding paragraph (excluding a person specified in item 7 of the same paragraph) must submit the notification under the same paragraph together with a document regarding the change of address specified by Cabinet Order.

[0023] (Special provisions for moving-in notifications for persons who have been issued an Individual Number Card, etc.) Article 24-2 If a person who has been issued an Individual Number Card has filed a moving-out notification (meaning a notification filed pursuant to the provisions of the preceding Article; the same applies hereinafter in this Article), the provisions of Article 22, Paragraph 2 shall not apply to the first moving-in notification (meaning the first notification filed pursuant to the provisions of Article 22, Paragraph 1 by that person after the day they filed the moving-out notification; the same applies hereinafter in this Article). However, this shall not apply in cases specified by Cabinet Order.

[0024] The above-mentioned Article 22 provides for general notification of moving in. The above-mentioned Article 24-2 provides for moving in procedures when using an Individual Number Card. Article 24-2 refers to the provisions of Article 22, Paragraph 1 and Paragraph 2, etc.

[0025] As such, the law is full of unique descriptions and references to other provisions are scattered throughout, making it difficult for humans to decipher and understand the relationships between sentences. Furthermore, with the introduction of the Individual Number Card, a new provision, Article 24-2 (Special Provisions for Notification of Move-in of Persons Who Have Been Issued an Individual Number Card, etc.), has been added. This provision also contains references to other provisions. Administrative processing systems for local governments must identify and modify the scope of impacts of these legal changes, but for the reasons mentioned above, deciphering the provisions becomes extremely complex and difficult.

[0026] Therefore, there is a need for information processing devices that can easily grasp the relationships between provisions and the parts that have been updated due to legal amendments, and that can accurately grasp the impact of changes to administrative processing systems.

[0027] First, as mentioned above, each provision may have a hierarchy or correlation, so the data structure is not relational but a graph database is used, which makes it possible to visualize the reference relationships of each legal data acquired in XML (Extensible Markup Language) format, for example, and realize an information processing device that enables easier legal search.

[0028] 3 is a block diagram showing an example of the configuration of an information processing device according to some other embodiments. The information processing device 10a may include an element information acquisition unit 11a, an update information acquisition unit 12a, a function information acquisition unit 13a, a related function information acquisition unit 14a, a reference direction acquisition unit 15a, a display control unit 16a, and a search unit 17a.

[0029] The element information acquisition unit 11a acquires element information indicating multiple elements, including reference information in which one element references another. Here, the elements are individual provisions of laws and regulations, and the reference information is information indicating that one provision references another provision. An example of reference information is the provision of Article 22, Paragraph 1, in Article 24-2 above. Note that the method of acquiring legal data may involve accessing the e-Gov portal in accordance with the WebAPI specifications, sending data via HTTP communication, and receiving the results (legal data). Alternatively, legal data may be downloaded in bulk in XML (Extensible Markup Language) format.

[0030] The update information acquisition unit 12a acquires update information indicating at least partial updates to the element information. Figure 4 shows an example of update information, comparing the old and new provisions of a law amending the Basic Resident Register Act. In Figure 4, the upper row indicates the proposed amendment, and the lower row indicates the current version. The underlined sections indicate the amended portions. That is, the update information may include newly added provisions, newly referenced information in the provisions, and changes to some elements in the element information. In the proposed amendment shown in Figure 4, the newly added provisions are, for example, Chapter 4-3, Special Provisions Concerning Foreign Residents (Articles 30-45-30-51). The newly referenced information in the provisions are, for example, matters that must be included in Article 5 pursuant to Article 30-45. Note that the e-Gov provisions, which are the element information mentioned above, are reflected after the law is promulgated, and therefore do not reflect the proposed amendment.

[0031] The function information acquisition unit 13a acquires function information associated with an element. For example, the above-mentioned Article 22 is assigned function information called "transfer processing." The function information may be a function that a user can obtain in accordance with a provision, and concisely expresses the function of that provision. The function information may use at least a portion of the heading of the provision. Note that multiple provisions may have the same function information. Such function information may be determined by a person and input into an information processing device, or may be acquired by a generative model (details of which will be described later) installed in the information processing device.

[0032] The related function information acquisition unit 14a may also acquire related function information and its elements that are functionally related to the function information associated with the acquired element. This related function information may be acquired if it is functionally related to the function information of a certain article, even if the article does not have reference information. For example, the moving-in processing function is operationally related to certificate issuance, family register linkage, and national health insurance linkage, so related function information for these may also be acquired. This is because, when a legal amendment is made to an element in a modification of the administrative processing system, the function information of the element and its functionally related function information may also need to be revised in terms of the user interface or the system, regardless of whether or not there is a reference relationship.

[0033] The reference direction acquisition unit 15a acquires the reference direction by inputting element information indicating multiple elements including reference information into a generative model (described later). The reference direction of each article may be acquired by a computer using LLMs (Large Language Models) such as ChatGPT. This makes it easier to visualize the relationships between sentences that are difficult for humans to understand.

[0034] Here, we will explain the generative model (i.e., language model). A language model is a model that learns the relationships between words in a sentence and generates related strings related to a target string from the target string. By using a language model that has been trained with sentences and passages from various contexts, it is possible to generate related strings with appropriate content related to the target string.

[0035] For example, a case where a language model is used in question answering will be described. The language model receives an input question such as "What kind of country is Japan?" as a target string. The language model generates a string such as "Japan is an island country in the Northern Hemisphere..." as an answer to the question.

[0036] The method of training the language model is not particularly limited, but as an example, the language model may be trained to output at least one sentence that includes an input character string.

[0037] As a specific example, the language model is a Generative Pre-trained Transformer (GPT) that outputs a sentence including an input string by predicting a string that is likely to follow the input string. Other examples of language models include a Text-to-Text Transfer Transformer (T5), a Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers (BERT), a Robustly optimized BERT approach (RoBERTa), and an Efficiently Learning an Encoder that Classifies Token Replacements Accurately (ELECTRA).

[0038] Furthermore, the character strings generated by the language model are not limited to natural languages. For example, the language model may output an artificial language (such as program source code) for a character string input in a natural language. For example, the language model may accept an input question such as "How do I retrieve data containing a specific character string from a database?" as a target character string. The language model may output program source code for performing database processing. Alternatively, the language model may output a natural language corresponding to a character string input in an artificial language.

[0039] Furthermore, the content generated by the language model is not limited to character strings. For example, the language model may generate image data, video data, audio data, or other data formats corresponding to the input character string.

[0040] Returning to Fig. 3, the description will be continued. The display control unit 16a generates a relationship graph showing the relationships between elements based on the reference information of the element information, and controls the display mode of updated parts in the generated relationship graph based on the update information. Various modifications of the display mode are possible, but examples of the display mode of the relationship graph and updated parts will be described below using Figs. 5 and 6.

[0041] FIG. 5 illustrates an example of a relationship graph according to some embodiments. FIG. 5 illustrates an example of a user interface displayed by the display control unit 16a of the information processing device. The relationship graph is based on a graph database. A graph database is a database with a graph structure, which is particularly useful for storage and retrieval. A graph can represent relationships between nodes using three elements: nodes, edges, and properties. In FIG. 5, circular nodes represent each provision. Arrowed edges indicate the reference direction between provisions. The relationship between nodes can refer to the reference direction indicating which provision references which other provision, assuming that each node is a provision. When a node includes a property, the element information is the provision, and the property can be at least a portion of the constituent elements within the provision or a summary of the provision. The constituent elements within the provision can include each component of the provision, such as the subject, object, timing, and procedure that make up the provision.

[0042] Furthermore, as shown in FIG. 5 , the relationship graph can identifiably display the nodes of added provisions and edges indicating the reference direction based on the update information described above. In FIG. 5 , unchanged provisions are indicated by nodes in solid circles. Unchanged reference directions are indicated by solid arrows. The added provision (Article 30-45) is indicated by a dashed circle. Furthermore, the reference relationship between the added provision (Article 30-45) and the reference source (Article 22) is indicated by a dashed arrow. Examples of identifiably displaying the information may be modified in various ways that are understandable to those skilled in the art, such as using different colors, different line thicknesses, or different character types. The display control unit 16a may display all provisions that have a reference relationship with a certain provision.

[0043] FIG. 6 is a diagram illustrating an example of a relationship graph according to another embodiment. The display control unit 16a may display the acquired function information on the relationship graph. In FIG. 6, function information (a rectangular dashed line) for a transfer-in processing function is superimposed on the node of Article 22. Furthermore, the method of displaying function information can be modified in various ways that are understandable to those skilled in the art. For example, the function information may be displayed by attaching a tag to a property. In FIG. 6, one piece of function information is displayed per node, but one piece of function information may also be displayed per multiple nodes.

[0044] The display control unit 16a can also display one or more elements of related function information functionally related to the function information of the Article 22 node (moving-in processing function) nearby ( FIG. 5 ). For example, the related function information for the moving-in processing function includes family register linkage, national health insurance linkage, and certificate issuance, so these elements (articles) are displayed in association with each other ( FIG. 5 ). Furthermore, the display control unit 16a can also superimpose related function information on the element. That is, the moving-in processing function, family register linkage, national health insurance linkage, and certificate issuance are superimposed on each element. Note that related function information can be acquired even if there is no reference relationship with a certain element, as long as it is functionally related. This is because system developers may need to redesign the user interface.

[0045] Furthermore, the display control unit 16a may change the display mode of elements affected by the update in the generated relationship graph so that they are identifiable. In FIG. 6 , Article 30-45 is the updated part and is indicated by a bold dashed circle node, while Article 22, its reference source (the element affected by the update), is indicated by a dashed circle node. The reference relationship between the added article (Article 30-45) and the reference source (Article 22) is also the updated part and is indicated by a bold dashed arrow. Examples of identifiable display are possible, and may include various modifications understandable by those skilled in the art, such as different colors, different line or character thicknesses, or different character types. While the added article (Article 30-45) is not assigned any function information, the content of the article may be determined and included in the transfer processing function rectangle, or new function information may be assigned.

[0046] This allows users such as system developers to accurately understand the impact of legal changes on their systems. Users such as system developers can also provide their clients with the basis for system modifications due to legal changes.

[0047] Instead of or in addition to a relationship graph, the display control unit 16a may display a group of articles, including referenced and updated articles, arranged in order. When a reference is selected, the referenced article may be displayed. A group of articles indicates a format in which multiple articles are arranged in order. That is, instead of or in addition to the relationship graph, the display control unit 16a of the information processing device may output and display legal update information on the screen in the form of a comparison of old and new articles (see FIG. 4) or in the form of a proposed amendment (see the upper part of FIG. 4). In this case, the display control unit 16a of the information processing device may display the referenced article (e.g., "Article 30-45") by selecting the amended reference information (e.g., "Pursuant to the provisions of Article 30-45"). For example, a pop-up for "Pursuant to the provisions of Article 30-45" may be displayed by hovering the mouse over or clicking "Pursuant to the provisions of Article 30-45." This allows users, such as system developers, to decipher the relationships between complex sentences and understand reference relationships.

[0048] The search unit 17a searches for necessary information from a storage unit that stores the above-mentioned element information, update information, function information, and related function information, etc., by inputting a term (e.g., a required function, the year of legal revision, etc.) or a question. For example, by inputting a required function, a user can obtain related provisions, and the display control unit 16a can display a relationship graph of the obtained related provisions. The user can also display a relationship graph of past legal revisions to investigate how past legal revisions affected system modifications. The database can store past legal revision information, a comparison table of old and new laws, a relationship graph of revisions, and legal data.

[0049] Although the present disclosure has been described above with reference to the embodiments, the present disclosure is not limited to the above-described embodiments. Various modifications that can be understood by those skilled in the art can be made to the configuration and details of the present disclosure within the scope of the present disclosure. Furthermore, each embodiment can be combined with other embodiments as appropriate.
