Description

[0001] FLOW REGULATOR

[0002] Field of the invention

[0003] The utility model is framed within the technical sector of sanitary appliances, and specifically refers to a device for regulating the flow rate of a toilet cistern when the flusher is activated.

[0004] Background of the invention

[0005] In the context of modern sanitation and plumbing systems, cistern flushers are essential devices that allow water to be released from the cistern into the toilet to facilitate waste evacuation. Traditionally, these flushers are designed to release a fixed volume of water, determined by the cistern's capacity and the mechanics of the flusher itself. However, this fixed configuration often results in higher water usage than necessary for effective waste evacuation, leading to inefficient and excessive water consumption.

[0006] In response to these needs, the invention of a flow-regulating device like the one proposed offers a practical and efficient solution. The device allows for simple modification of existing flushers, providing the ability to adjust water flow without the need to replace the entire cistern or make complex structural changes.

[0007] Description of the invention

[0008] The present invention relates to a flow-regulating device, specifically designed for installation in cistern flushers to control the amount of water released during each flush. The device is a component comprising a cylindrical portion and a means for securing said cylindrical portion to the flusher's shutter. By reducing the cross-sectional area of the water flow from the cistern to the toilet bowl, the cistern's flushing flow rate is reduced.

[0009] Optionally, the means for securing the cylindrical portion to the flusher shutter consists of a set of resilient fins projecting vertically from the upper base of the cylindrical portion. The fins are configured to fit securely within the central recess of the cistern shutter, providing a means for anchoring the device without the need for additional tools or modifications to the existing flusher, and are capable of holding the device in place during operation of the cistern flusher. Optionally, the resilient fins are configured to provide universal compatibility with a variety of cistern flusher shutter diameters.

[0010] Optionally, the height of the cylindrical portion can be selected to determine the discharge rate. Thus, the cylindrical portion can be divided into different parts along its longitudinal axis, allowing one or more parts to be separated. Thus, a shorter cylinder would leave more space for water flow, potentially increasing the flow rate. Conversely, a taller cylinder would reduce this space, thus reducing the discharge rate.

[0011] In order to save water with the device of the present invention, the flusher must be adjusted so that the volume of water released matches the duration of the flush.

[0012] Brief description of the drawings

[0013] To complement the description being made and in order to help better understand the characteristics of the invention, in accordance with a preferred example of practical embodiment thereof, a set of figures is attached as an integral part of said description, in which the following has been represented for illustrative and non-limiting purposes:

[0014] Figures 1 to 4 show different views of the flow regulating device, according to an embodiment of the present invention.

[0015] Figures 5 and 6 show the flow regulating device mounted on a cistern discharger during operation, according to an embodiment of the present invention.

[0016] Description of the embodiments of the invention

[0017] In view of the aforementioned figures, and in accordance with the numbering adopted, one can observe in them an example of a preferred embodiment of the invention, which comprises the parts and elements indicated and described in detail below.

[0018] The base of the device is a cylindrical portion (1) formed by annular segments numbered 1 to 4, each representing a flow rate regulation level. These segments are designed to be separable from each other along predefined grooves (3), allowing the user to adjust the height of the device and therefore the volume of water discharged. Optionally, each separable annular segment provides a predefined increment in water flow rate regulation, thus allowing for precise and customizable adjustment.

[0019] At the top of the device, there is a set of elastic fins (2) that protrude vertically. These fins are configured to fit securely within the central recess of the cistern's shutter (4), providing a means of anchoring the device without the need for additional tools or modifications to the existing flusher.

[0020] In use, the flow control device is inserted into the cistern's flush valve, with the elastic flaps securing it in place. The height of the device determines the water level retained in the cistern before flushing.
