Description

[0001] POOL CLEANING AND RENOVATION SYSTEM

[0002] DESCRIPTION

[0003] Field of the invention

[0004] The present invention relates to a renewal and cleaning system for swimming pools, although it is also applicable to spas, water parks, fountains, aquariums, etc.

[0005] Background of the invention

[0006] For proper water maintenance in swimming pools and other similar facilities, it is necessary to renew the water and clean the filters periodically.

[0007] Currently, filter backwashes are performed by drawing water from a surge tank.

[0008] Normally, and according to ISO / DIN standards recommendations for proper filter maintenance, filters should be washed at least once a week.

[0009] This means that during cleaning, the pool loses a significant amount of water and energy, and even, depending on the volume, the temperature of the pool water drops.

[0010] Carrying out water renewal and filter washing in this conventional manner involves considerable volume and energy losses.

[0011] As everyone is aware, climate change is causing drought problems worldwide, so minimizing water and energy losses is very important.

[0012] Description of the invention

[0013] Therefore, one objective of the present invention is to provide a pool cleaning and renewal system that allows maximum water and energy savings.

[0014] The system of the invention resolves the aforementioned drawbacks, presenting other advantages that will be described below.

[0015] The pool cleaning and renewal system according to the present invention is described in claim 1, and the dependent claims include additional features that are optional.

[0016] In particular, the pool renewal and cleaning system comprises a filter that cleans the water coming from a pool and comprises a cleaning tank, which receives water coming from said filter and water coming from a mains power supply, a heat exchanger being arranged at the inlet to said cleaning tank.

[0017] Thanks to this feature, the water from the pool is reused and returns to the pool at a suitable temperature, equal to or similar to the water present in the pool, which saves water and energy.

[0018] The pool cleaning and renewal system according to the present invention preferably also comprises meters that control the amount of water entering the cleaning tank, so that the water temperature can be controlled precisely.

[0019] According to a preferred embodiment, the meters are pulse and / or flow meters and are preferably arranged before the heat exchanger.

[0020] The pool renewal and cleaning system according to the present invention also preferably comprises a recovery tank that receives water from the filter.

[0021] According to a preferred embodiment, the recovery tank is a decanter and comprises a float that can be moved along a support bar. The pool recovery and cleaning system according to the present invention also preferably comprises a supply tank, which receives water from the pool.

[0022] Furthermore, the pool cleaning and recovery system according to the present invention preferably also comprises a surge tank that receives water from a mains power supply.

[0023] Brief description of the drawings

[0024] For a better understanding of what has been explained, some drawings are attached which, schematically and solely as a non-limiting example, represent a practical case of implementation.

[0025] Figure 1 is a diagram of the pool cleaning and renewal system according to the present invention;

[0026] Figure 2 is a diagram of the pool renewal and cleaning system according to the present invention during filling of the cleaning tank;

[0027] Figure 3 is a diagram of the pool renewal and cleaning system according to the present invention during filling of the pool;

[0028] Figure 4 is a diagram of the pool renewal and cleaning system according to the present invention during cleaning of the pool filter;

[0029] Figure 5 is a diagram of the pool renewal and cleaning system according to the present invention during filling of the recovery tank; and

[0030] Figure 6 is a schematic view of a part of the recovery tank of the renewal and cleaning system for swimming pools according to the present invention.

[0031] Description of a preferred embodiment A diagram of the components of the renewal and cleaning system according to the present invention is shown in Figure 1.

[0032] In this figure 1 a swimming pool (1) is represented which comprises an outlet duct (11) and an inlet duct (12).

[0033] The renewal and cleaning system comprises a filter (2) through which the pool water is filtered for cleaning and a series of water tanks that manage the water as will be described below.

[0034] The water coming directly from the pool (1) through the outlet pipe (11) reaches a compensation tank (3), which is also connected to a mains water source, so that if necessary, mains water is supplied to the pool (1).

[0035] The renewal and cleaning system also comprises a cleaning tank (4) which receives renewal water from the pool (1), from the filter (2) when it is emptied for air washing, and any water that may be in the pipes. From the cleaning tank (4) it returns to the filter (2) by means of pumps (5), as will be explained later in relation to Figure 2.

[0036] The renewal and cleaning system also comprises a supply tank (6), in which water is accumulated that comes from the renewal of the pool (1) and which is used for services such as showers or irrigation.

[0037] The renewal and cleaning system also comprises a recovery tank (7), into which water from washing the filter (2) is received and which is used for grey water services, for example, for use in toilets.

[0038] It should be noted that Figure 1 shows other components such as valves, pumps, etc., which are not described in this description because they are common in pool cleaning and renewal systems, as is evident to a person skilled in the art. Figure 2 shows how the cleaning tank (4) is used. The operating principle is that at intervals of, for example, seven days per wash, the water in the pool (1) is gradually renewed, filling the cleaning tank (4) and, in the case of pool water renewals, the supply tank (6).

[0039] The water that reaches the cleaning tank (4) is mainly water from the pool (1), and to a lesser extent water from the network.

[0040] At the entrance to the cleaning tank (4) there is a heat exchanger (8), so that the temperature of the supply water that returns to the pool (1) is very similar to the temperature of the water in the pool (1).

[0041] This return of water to the pool (1) from the cleaning tank (4) at the desired temperature is carried out in a controlled manner, making the inlet and outlet flow equal, using counters (9), for example, pulse and flow.

[0042] With this system the level of the pool (1) does not vary, since the water that comes out is the same as the water that comes in, under the control of the counters (9) and through control algorithms of a control medium.

[0043] As shown in Figure 3, the system must take into account that if feed water is needed due to a low level, the system shuts down to recover the level. Thus, the surge tank (3) is filled with water from the mains.

[0044] Figure 4 shows the water circulation during filter (2) cleaning. When the filter (2) needs to be washed, the pumps (5) draw water from the cleaning tank (4) and the used water, instead of going to the sewer, is stored in the recovery tank (7).

[0045] This water, in a few hours, through a settling process, can be used as grey water, for example, for toilets. To ensure this time is as short as possible, the recovery tank (7) comprises a float (71) that moves along a support bar (72), and includes a flexible suction tube (73), so that it allows taking water from the highest level of the recovery tank (7), which is of better quality, since it decants and the lower waters are those with more dirt.

[0046] In this way, water can be collected from the top even if the level in the recovery tank (7) drops. This saves significant time in using the water.

[0047] Although reference has been made to a specific embodiment of the invention, it is evident to a person skilled in the art that the cleaning system described is susceptible to numerous variations and modifications, and that all the details mentioned can be replaced by other technically equivalent ones, without departing from the scope of protection defined by the appended claims.
