[0010] Hereinafter, an embodiment will be described with reference to the drawings. Note that elements common to the various drawings are given the same reference numerals and redundant explanations will be omitted.
[0011] Embodiment 1. Peripheral Structure of a Motor Pulley Attached to an Escalator Motor Figure 1 is a diagram showing the peripheral structure of a motor pulley to which a motor pulley press-fitting auxiliary tool according to an embodiment is applied. A shaft hole 322 of the motor pulley 32 is press-fit onto the motor shaft 302 of the escalator motor 30. A threaded hole 304 is formed in the motor shaft 302. The threaded hole 304 is formed by cutting a thread into a blind hole formed along the axial direction from the tip of the motor shaft 302. A bolt 36 is fastened into the threaded hole 304, sandwiching a disk-shaped retaining plate 34 for retaining the motor pulley 32 therebetween.
[0012] 2. Configuration of the Motor Pulley Press-In Auxiliary Tool in the Embodiment During escalator maintenance work by a worker, the motor pulley of an escalator motor may be removed or attached. The work of press-fitting the motor pulley into the escalator motor can be done, for example, by hitting the motor pulley with a hammer or the like. However, such press-in work may place a load on each component and may be heavy work for the worker.
[0013] The motor pulley press-fitting aid of this embodiment is an aid used in such a motor pulley press-fitting operation. Figure 2 is a diagram for explaining the component configuration of the motor pulley press-fitting aid. The motor pulley press-fitting aid 10 shown in this figure includes a press-fitting long screw 12, a press-fitting plate 14, and a press-fitting nut 16.
[0014] The press-fit long screw 12 is used with one end threaded into the threaded hole 304. FIG. 3 is a diagram illustrating the configuration of the press-fit long screw. The press-fit long screw 12 includes a long thread portion 121, a first nut portion 122, a second nut portion 123, a washer portion 124, and a protrusion 125. The long thread portion 121 is a fully threaded bolt that can be threaded into the threaded hole 304 of the motor shaft 302. The long thread portion 121 is set to have a nominal diameter of 10 mm and a total length of approximately 250 mm, for example.
[0015] The first nut portion 122 is a high nut that is welded while being threaded onto the other end of the long thread portion 121. The first nut portion 122 has a width across flats of about 17 mm and a height of about 25 mm, for example.
[0016] The second nut portion 123 is a nut that is screwed onto the tip side of the long thread portion 121. The width across flats of the second nut portion 123 is, for example, 17 mm, the same as that of the first nut portion 122. A washer portion 124 is sandwiched between the second nut portion 123 and the first nut portion 122. The outer diameter of the washer portion 124 is larger than the width across flats of the first nut portion 122.
[0017] The protrusion 125 is a projection provided to protrude in the axial direction from the surface on the tip side of the long thread portion 121. The maximum radial dimension of the protrusion 125 is smaller than the inner diameter of the long thread portion 121. The amount of protrusion in the axial direction of the protrusion 125 is set so that the long thread portion 121 does not come into contact with the incomplete thread portion of the threaded hole 304 when the tip side of the long thread portion 121 is threaded into the threaded hole 304 and the tip side of the protrusion 125 is in contact with the bottom surface of the threaded hole 304. In one example, the protrusion 125 provided on the long thread portion 121 with a nominal diameter of 10 mm is set to be cylindrical, with an outer diameter of 7 mm and a height of 5 mm.
[0018] 4 is a diagram illustrating the configuration of the presser plate 14. The presser plate 14 is a disk-shaped plate material with a through hole 141 formed in the center. The through hole 141 is set to have a diameter larger than the outer diameter of the long thread portion 121 of the long press-fit screw 12. As an example, the presser plate 14 is a stainless steel member with an outer diameter of 55 mm, a through hole 141 of 11 mm, and a plate thickness of 10 mm.
[0019] 5 is a diagram illustrating the configuration of the press-fit nut 16. The press-fit nut 16 is a tall nut that is threaded onto the long press-fit screw 12. The press-fit nut 16 has, for example, the same width across flats as the first nut portion 122. As an example, the press-fit nut 16 is set to have a width across flats of approximately 17 mm and a height of approximately 25 mm.
[0020] 3. Motor Pulley Press-Fitting Method Using Motor Pulley Press-Fitting Auxiliary Tool Next, a procedure for press-fitting the motor pulley 32 using the motor pulley press-fitting auxiliary tool 10 of the embodiment will be described in detail.
[0021] 6 is a diagram illustrating the motor pulley preparation process in the motor pulley press-fitting work. As a preparation process, a worker positions escalator motor 30 so that tip 302a of motor shaft 302 faces vertically upward. Then, the worker positions motor pulley 32 by aligning shaft hole 322 directly above tip 302a of motor shaft 302.
[0022] 7 is a diagram illustrating the preparation process for the motor pulley press-fitting auxiliary tool. As shown in this figure, the worker screws the press-fitting nut 16 into the tip of the press-fitting long screw 12, and then inserts it through the through hole 141 of the holding plate 14.
[0023] 3-3. Screwing Process of the Long Press-Fit Screw Figure 8 is a diagram illustrating the screwing process of the long press-fit screw in the motor pulley press-fitting auxiliary tool. As shown in this figure, an operator threads the tip end of the long press-fit screw 12 through the shaft hole 322 of the motor pulley 32 and into the threaded hole 304 of the motor shaft 302. In the screwing process, for example, a spanner wrench 40 is used. Here, the operator prepares a spanner wrench 40 that matches the size of the first nut portion 122 and turns the first nut portion 122 in the tightening direction until the protrusion 125 contacts the bottom of the threaded hole 304.
[0024] Figure 9 is an enlarged cross-sectional view of the internal structure of region A in Figure 8. As shown in this figure, the axial dimension of protrusion 125 is set so that when protrusion 125 is in contact with the bottom of screw hole 304, the complete thread portion of long press-fit screw 12 does not come into contact with the incomplete thread portion of screw hole 304.
[0025] 10 and 11 are diagrams illustrating the process of tightening the press-fit nut using the motor pulley press-fitting auxiliary tool. In the tightening process, the worker tightens the press-fit nut 16 as shown in FIG. 10. If the worker continues to tighten the press-fit nut 16 even after the press-fit nut 16 comes into contact with the retainer plate 14, the retainer plate 14 is urged toward the motor pulley 32. As a result, the motor pulley 32 is gradually press-fit onto the motor shaft 302 as shown in FIG. 11.
[0026] 12 is a diagram illustrating the removal process of the motor pulley press-fitting auxiliary tool. In the removal process, an operator uses a spanner wrench 40 to turn the first nut portion 122 of the long press-fitting screw 12 in the loosening direction. This removes the long press-fitting screw 12 from the threaded hole portion 304 of the motor shaft 302.
[0027] 13 is a diagram illustrating the process of attaching the pressure plate. In this process, the worker places the pressure plate 34 in the center of the motor pulley 32 and screws the bolt 36 into the screw hole 304. This secures the pressure plate 34 to the tip of the motor shaft 302.
[0028] 4. Functions and Effects of the Motor Pulley Press-Fitting Auxiliary Tool The motor pulley press-fitting auxiliary tool described above provides the following functions and effects.
[0029] According to the configuration of the motor pulley press-fitting auxiliary tool 10, by tightening the press-fit nut 16 threaded onto the long press-fit screw 12, the press plate 14 is urged toward the motor pulley 32 along the axial direction of the long press-fit screw 12. This makes it possible to safely and easily press-fit the motor pulley 32 into the tip of the motor shaft 302.
[0030] According to the configuration of the protruding portion 125 of the press-fit long screw 12, the protruding portion 125 comes into contact with the bottom surface of the screw hole 304, so that the fully threaded portion of the press-fit long screw 12 does not come into contact with the incompletely threaded portion of the screw hole 304. This makes it possible to prevent the fully threaded portion of the press-fit long screw 12 from being damaged.
[0031] The outer diameter of the press-fit nut 16 is larger than the diameter of the through-hole 141 of the press plate 14. With this configuration, the press plate 14 can be biased toward the motor pulley 32 by tightening the press-fit nut 16.
[0032] The width across flats of the first nut portion 122 of the long press-fit screw 12 is equal to the width across flats of the press-fit nut 16. With this configuration, a common spanner wrench 40 can be used, improving work efficiency.
[0033] The outer diameter of the washer portion 124 of the long press-fit screw 12 is larger than the width across flats of the first nut portion 122. With this configuration, it is possible to prevent the spanner wrench 40 that tightens the first nut portion 122 from shifting in position, thereby improving work efficiency.
[0034] Tall nuts are used for the press-fit nut 16 and the first nut portion 122. With this configuration, the efficiency of the nut tightening operation using the spanner wrench 40 can be improved.
[0035] 5. Modifications The motor pulley press-fitting auxiliary tool of this embodiment may employ the following modifications.
[0036] The press-fit long screw 12 does not necessarily require the configuration of the first nut portion 122, the second nut portion 123, the washer portion 124, and the protrusion 125. In addition, there are no limitations on the two-face width and height of the first nut portion 122 and the two-face width and height of the second nut portion 123.
[0037] 5-2. Pressing Plate 14 There are no limitations on the outer diameter, thickness, and material of the pressing plate 14 as long as the strength required for the press-fitting operation can be ensured.
[0038] 5-3 Press-Fit Nut There are no limitations on the width across flats and height of the press-fit nut 16.
