Description

Hair Dyeing KitTechnical field

[0001] The present disclosure relates to a hair dyeing kit comprising three agents, wherein one agent is a scalp protection agent. In particular, the present disclosure relates to a hair dyeing kit capable of protecting the scalp from damages or discomfort during dyeing.Background of the invention

[0002] Nowadays, changing the color and / or shape of hair has become popular among people of all ages and sexes. However, most of the commercially available hair dyeing and perming products are strong alkaline substances. When these hair products come into contact the user's scalp, damages or discomforts of the scalp may be caused, causing irritation, redness, itching, etc. Therefore, in order to protect the scalp from the damages or discomforts in the harsh conditions, a scalp protection agent can be applied to the scalp before applying hair dyeing and perming agents to the hair.

[0003] At present, the strong alkali-resistant dimethicone or mineral oil contained in the scalp protectants can isolate the scalp from hair dyeing and perming agents and achieve the effect of protecting the scalp. However, these compounds cannot offer complete protection and alleviation of scalp discomfort, and also can burden the scalp. Some prior arts propose adding biomolecules to alleviate the scalp stimulation, for example CN101289686 teaches using collagen protein and KR101277530B1 suggests adding amino acids. However, biomolecules are less stable in the composition and relatively expensive.

[0004] In order to conveniently achieve the scalp protection during the dyeing process, there is a need in the art to develop a hair dyeing kit having excellent scalp protection effect and cost efficient.Summary of the invention

[0005] It is an object of the present invention to provide a hair dyeing kit having excellent protection effect for scalp during the hair dyeing.

[0006] The object of the present invention is achieved by a hair dyeing kit comprising:

[0208] Optionally, the second agent can also contain at least one adjuvant conventionally used in the oxidation dye precursor-containing agent.

[0209] The term “adjuvant” is intended to mean an additive other than the above-mentioned compounds.

[0210] As examples of the at least one adjuvant that can be used, mention may be made of  antidandruff agents, anti-seborrheic agents, agents for preventing hair loss and / or for promoting hair regrowth, vitamins and provitamins including panthenol, sunscreens, mineral or organic pigments, plasticizers, solubilizers, acidifying agents, mineral or organic thickeners, opacifiers or pearlescent agents, antioxidants, hydroxy acids, fragrances, and preservatives.

[0212] Third agent

[0213] The third agent of the present invention comprises at least one oxidizing agent. The at least one oxidizing agent is chosen, for example, from peroxides such as hydrogen peroxide and urea peroxide, bromates and ferricyanides of alkali metals. Further non-limiting mention may be made of hydrogen peroxide. This oxidizing agent is for example constituted of aqueous hydrogen peroxide.

[0214] In the oxidization dyeing system, the second agent containing the colorants play a way more important role than the third agent, and hence, there is less requirement for the third agent as long as it comprises the oxidizing agent. Therefore, besides the oxidizing agent, the third agent may also comprise one or more substances as stated above for the second agent except for the colorant, such as at least one fatty substance, at least one surfactant, at least one chelator and / or at least one adjuvant, each of them has the same definition as stated above for the second agent. The third agent preferably is water-based.

[0215] Preferably, the mass ratio of the second agent to the third agent is in the range of from 1: 10 to 10: 1, such as 1: 5 to 5: 1, 1: 3 to 3: 1, preferably 1: 1.

[0216] Preferably, the third agent has a pH value of 2.0 to 6.5, such as, 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, 5.0 or 6.0 or any ranges between two above-listed values.

[0222] (ii) mixing the second agent with the third agent, and applying the obtained mixture to the hair.

[0223] The amount of the first agent applied to the scalp is not particularly limited as long as the scalp is covered by the first agent. The first agent is left on the scalp until the dyeing process is finished.

[0224] The mixture of the second agent and the third agent can be kept on the hair for 5 minutes to 2 hours, such as 10 minutes to 60 minutes. Further, the process may comprise a step of rinsing off the mixture from the hair.

[0225] Examples

[0226] The invention will now be described by way of the following examples. The following examples are intended to assist one skilled in the art to better understand and practice the present invention. The scope of the invention is not limited by the examples but is defined in the appended claims. All parts and percentages are based on weight unless otherwise stated. In all examples, the same name refers to the same substance.

[0227] Nano-emulsions

[0228] Nano-emulsions 1-5 were prepared according to the ingredients and amounts listed in Table 1, each amount in Table 1 being wt%based on the total weight of the nano-emulsion.

[0229] Taking nano-emulsion 1 as example, the preparation method was as follows.

[0230] (1) Mixing (a1) to (a6) together and heating to 80 ℃ under stirring to form a mixture 1;

[0231] (2) Mixing (a7) to (a10) and heating to 80 ℃ under stirring to form a mixture 2;

[0232] (3) Mixing the mixture 1 and 2 together at 80 ℃ under stirring to form a mixture 3; and

[0233] (4) Rapidly cooling the mixture 3 in an ice bath to room temperature under stirring to form a homogeneous nano-emulsion.

[0234] Nano-emulsions 2-5 were prepared using the same method except for using ingredients and amounts listed in Table 1.

[0235] Table 1: Nano-emulsions 1-5

[0236] First Agent A1 to A4

[0237] The first agents A1 to A4 were obtained by mixing the components listed in Table 2 at room temperature.

[0238] Table 2 # Carbomer 980 is a polyacrylic acid thickener,*Euxyl PE 9010 is a blend of Phenoxyethanol and Ethylhexylglycerin, as preservative, from Schuelke.

[0239] Test for scalp protection effect of the first agent A1 to A4

[0240] In the half-head model testing, one composition was evenly applied on one side of the head to fully cover the scalp of this side, while the other composition was evenly applied on the other side of the head to fully cover the scalp of this side. The applied amount of the composition per half head was approximately 3-4 g. Subsequently, a regular hair dyeing process was performed, and the model's scalp response was assessed using a 3S (Scalp-Symptom-Scale) questionnaire. The levels of five symptoms (itching, stinging, tightness, pain, and burning sensation) based on personal tolerance were rated. The scoring criteria range was from 0 to 4, higher scores indicating more pronounced symptoms.

[0241] Half-head model tests were conducted using agent A1 (BM) and agent A3 (Invention) (Test 1, in Table 3) , agent A2 (Com) and agent A3 (Invention) (Test 2, in Table 4) , as well as agent A3 (Invention) and agent A4 (Invention) (Test 3, in Table 5) . In one half-head test, the dyeing agent was the same, but in different tests, the dyeing agents were different. The test results are shown in Tables 3 to 5, respectively.

[0242] Table 3

[0243] It can be seen from the results in Table 3 that comparing with benchmark without nano-emulsion, agent A3 of the invention can significantly reduce discomfort (including itching, tightness and burning) during dyeing and after dyeing.

[0244] Table 4

[0245] It can be seen from the results in Table 4 that agent A2 containing 3%nano-emulsion achieved less satisfied performance, while agent A3 containing 5%nano-emulsion achieved improved performance (including itching, stinging, tightness, pain and burning) during dyeing and after dyeing.

[0246] Table 5

[0247] It can be seen from the results in Table 5 that two first agents containing different thickening agents according to the present invention achieved comparable performance in terms of the scalp protection effect.

[0248] The results among the above half-head model tests 1 to 3 cannot be compared directly, because the dyeing agents used in Tests 1 to 3 are different. But the results in each test can be compared directly because the same dyeing agent is used in each test.

[0249] Second agents and third agents

[0250] Second agents and third agents can be as follows.

[0251] Second agent B1 + third agent C1

[0252] Second agent B2 + third agent C2

[0253] Second agent B3 + third agent C3

[0254] Although some preferred embodiments have been described, many modifications and variations may be made thereto in light of the above teachings. It is therefore to be understood that the invention may be practiced otherwise than as specifically described without departing from the scope of the appended claims.
