Description

Electronic device for processing advertising information and method of operation thereof

[0001] The present disclosure relates to a content providing technology, and more specifically, to an electronic device that processes advertising information to provide content including advertising information, and an operating method thereof.

[0002] With the widespread adoption of the Internet, various media platforms are being built to support personal broadcasting and content sharing. Content creators (or streamers) can then deliver their content to viewers through these platforms. This method of content delivery via media platforms does not impose any specific restrictions on channel creation or content topics, nor does it impose any specific restrictions on users' enjoyment of the content, making it easily accessible for both content creators and viewers. Consequently, the number of users (content creators and viewers) of content delivery services via media platforms is rapidly increasing.

[0003] In line with this trend, various measures have been proposed to revitalize media platforms. For example, media platform service providers have been providing media platform services based on a service operation structure that monetizes content creators to attract more content creators and provides rewards (or compensation) to viewers to attract more viewers. However, this service operation structure has the drawback of being dependent on each media platform, meaning that only certain users can enjoy its benefits.

[0004] In this regard, reference may be made to prior literature such as KR10-2013-0050791A and KR10-2020-0123664A.

[0005] The present disclosure provides an electronic device for processing advertising information to provide content including advertising information and an operating method thereof.

[0006] The present disclosure aims to provide an electronic device and an operating method thereof that provides a reward (or compensation) to a viewer based on the degree of exposure to advertising information through content.

[0007] The present disclosure aims to provide an electronic device and an operating method thereof that provides revenue to a streamer (or content creator) based on the degree of exposure of advertising information through content.

[0008] The problems to be solved by the present disclosure are not limited to the problems described above, and other problems not mentioned will be clearly understood by those skilled in the art from the description below.

[0009] In an operating method of an electronic device for processing advertisement information according to an embodiment of the present disclosure, the operating method may include a step of obtaining advertisement information from an external source, a step of obtaining streamer information from a streamer terminal of a streamer who produces content using a service provided from the electronic device, a step of confirming content to transmit the advertisement information based on the streamer information, a step of obtaining viewer information from a viewer terminal of a viewer who views the content, and a step of providing a page including the advertisement information to the viewer terminal when it is confirmed that advertisement information can be exposed based on the viewer information.

[0010] Additionally, the operating method may further include a step of checking the number of advertisement exposures to the viewer, and a step of providing a reward to the viewer if the number of advertisement exposures is greater than or equal to a preset first value.

[0011] Additionally, the number of times the advertisement is displayed may be calculated based on at least some of the playback time of the advertisement information and whether viewer input regarding the advertisement information is obtained.

[0012] Additionally, the reward may be determined in response to the number of times the advertisement is exposed.

[0013] Additionally, the operating method may further include a step of confirming advertising revenue generated based on the advertising information and a step of distributing at least a portion of the advertising revenue to the streamer.

[0014] In addition, the step of distributing at least a portion of the advertising revenue to the streamer may include a step of confirming whether the streamer can generate advertising revenue based on the streamer information, and a step of distributing at least a portion of the advertising revenue to the streamer based on a preset ratio if it is confirmed that the streamer can generate advertising revenue.

[0015] Additionally, the page may include a user interface for performing an interactive donation, which is a sponsorship for interaction between viewers and streamers regarding the content of the viewer.

[0016] Additionally, the advertising information may be positioned at either the top or bottom of the user interface, or may be positioned to be included in the user interface.

[0017] An electronic device for processing advertising information according to one embodiment of the present disclosure includes a transceiver, a memory for storing commands, and a processor, wherein the processor connected to the transceiver and the memory obtains advertising information from an external source, obtains streamer information from a streamer terminal, verifies content to transmit the advertising information based on the streamer information, obtains viewer information from a viewer terminal of a viewer viewing the content, and, when it is confirmed that advertising information exposure is possible based on the viewer information, provides a page including the advertising information to the viewer terminal.

[0018] According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, a computer program stored in a computer-readable storage medium, coupled with hardware, for executing an advertisement information processing method, the advertisement information processing method may include a step of obtaining advertisement information from an external source, a step of obtaining streamer information from a streamer terminal, a step of confirming content to transmit the advertisement information based on the streamer information, a step of obtaining viewer information from a viewer terminal of a viewer viewing the content, and a step of providing a page including the advertisement information to the viewer terminal when it is confirmed that advertisement information exposure is possible based on the viewer information.

[0019] According to the present disclosure, effective advertisement delivery to viewers can be achieved by providing content including advertisement information to viewers.

[0020] According to the present disclosure, by providing rewards (or compensation) to viewers based on the degree of advertisement exposure, the viewer's concentration and favorability toward the delivered advertisement can be increased.

[0021] According to the present disclosure, by providing revenue to streamers (or content creators) based on the degree of advertisement exposure, the motivation of streamers to create content can be encouraged.

[0072] At step S420, the second electronic device (120) according to an embodiment of the present disclosure may determine whether the advertisement exposure time for the corresponding viewer is longer than a preset threshold time (T). If the second electronic device (120) determines that the advertisement exposure time for the viewer is longer than the preset threshold time (T), the procedure may proceed to step S430. On the other hand, if the second electronic device (120) determines that the advertisement exposure time for the viewer is shorter than the preset threshold time (T), the procedure may return to step S420. In some embodiments of the present disclosure, the advertisement exposure time may be calculated from the time at which a page including advertisement information is provided to the viewer terminal (140).

[0073] At step S430, the second electronic device (120) according to an embodiment of the present disclosure can determine whether a user input has been obtained through the user terminal (140). In an embodiment of the present disclosure, the user input may be an input for advertisement information provided to the viewer terminal (140), and may be at least a part of an input for a URL corresponding to the advertisement information and an input for stopping the exposure of the advertisement information. If it is determined that the user input has been obtained by the second electronic device (120), the procedure may proceed to step S450. On the other hand, if it is determined that the user input has not been obtained by the second electronic device (120), the procedure may proceed to step S440.

[0074] At step S440, the second electronic device (120) according to the embodiment of the present disclosure can check whether the advertisement provided to the viewer terminal (140) has ended. If it is determined that the advertisement provided to the viewer terminal (140) by the second electronic device (120) has ended, the procedure may proceed to step S450. On the other hand, if it is determined that the advertisement provided to the viewer terminal (140) by the second electronic device (120) has not ended, the procedure may return to step S430.

[0075] At step S450, the second electronic device (120) according to an embodiment of the present disclosure may issue a reward to the viewer. According to the embodiment, whether or not to issue a reward to the viewer and the reward to be issued may be determined based on information related to the exposure of advertising information to the viewer.

[0079] In step S520, the second electronic device (120) according to an embodiment of the present disclosure may determine whether the streamer is capable of generating advertising revenue. In some embodiments, whether the streamer is capable of generating advertising revenue may be determined based on whether advertising revenue exceeds a preset threshold revenue. In other embodiments, whether the streamer is capable of generating advertising revenue may be determined based on at least a portion of the service usage time and broadcast frequency of the streamer who provided content through a service provided by the second electronic device (120). If it is determined that the streamer is capable of generating advertising revenue, the procedure may proceed to step S530. On the other hand, if it is determined that the streamer is unable to generate advertising revenue, the procedure may be terminated.

[0080] In step S530, the second electronic device (120) according to the embodiment of the present disclosure can check whether the number of times the streamer's advertisement is exposed is greater than or equal to a preset threshold value N (where N is a natural number greater than or equal to 1). In the embodiment, the second electronic device (120) can calculate the number of times the advertisement is exposed through all contents of a specific streamer or the number of times the advertisement is exposed through some contents of a specific streamer. If the number of times the streamer's advertisement is exposed is greater than or equal to the preset threshold value N, the procedure can proceed to step S540. On the other hand, if the number of times the streamer's advertisement is exposed is less than the preset threshold value N, the procedure can be terminated.

[0081] At step S540, the second electronic device (120) according to an embodiment of the present disclosure may calculate advertising revenue. In an embodiment, the second electronic device (120) may calculate advertising revenue for a streamer or for specific content of a streamer.

[0082] At step S550, the second electronic device (120) according to an embodiment of the present disclosure may distribute the advertising revenue calculated at step S540. In an embodiment, the advertising revenue may be distributed based on a preset ratio or based on a streamer level identified by the second electronic device (120).
