Abstract
Description
Zipper tape, film with zipper tape, container with zipper tape, and method for manufacturing container with zipper tape
[0001] The present invention relates to a zipper tape, a film with zipper tape, a container with zipper tape, and a method for manufacturing a container with zipper tape.
[0002] For example, as described in Patent Document 1, a method for manufacturing a zipper tape-attached container is known in which a film to which a zipper tape has been previously attached is wound around a core and both ends of the film are joined to form a container body. In this manufacturing method, a content filling device can be incorporated into the core, and the content can be filled into the container at the same time as the container is manufactured.
[0003] International Publication No. 2018 / 207631
[0004] For example, in the manufacturing method described in Patent Document 1, a film with zipper tape is transported in the width direction of the zipper tape and wound around a winding core, but during this process, the flange portion extending from the engagement portion of the zipper tape may curl up, or the engagement portion may open as the flange portion curls up.
[0005] Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide a zipper tape, a film with zipper tape, a container with zipper tape, and a method for manufacturing a container with zipper tape that can effectively prevent the flange portion from curling up during the manufacture of the container.

[0009] Hereinafter, preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings. In this specification and drawings, components having substantially the same functional configurations are designated by the same reference numerals, and redundant description will be omitted.
[0010] 1 is a plan view of a container with zipper tape according to a first embodiment of the present invention. In the container with zipper tape 100, a zipper tape 120 is joined to a container body formed of a film 110.
[0011] The film 110 may be, for example, a single-layer or multi-layer thermoplastic resin film. The thermoplastic resin may be, specifically, low-density polyethylene (LDPE), linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE), or polypropylene (PP). PP may be homopolypropylene (HPP), random polypropylene (RPP), or block polypropylene (BPP). When the film 110 is a multi-layer film, the surface substrate may be biaxially oriented polypropylene (OPP), biaxially oriented polyethylene terephthalate (OPET), or biaxially oriented nylon (ONy). The film constituting the film 110 may also include a layer of a metal material such as aluminum or a layer of an inorganic material. A resin film containing any amount of bioplastic, such as biopolyethylene, may also be used. The film 110 is folded back at both longitudinal ends of the zipper tape 120, the ends are joined with a back seal portion 112, and a top seal portion 113 and a bottom seal portion 114 are further formed, thereby forming a bag-shaped container body including a first surface 111A and a second surface 111B facing each other.
[0012] The zipper tape 120 is a long member formed with a cross-sectional shape as described below, and is bonded to the first surface 111A of the film 110. The zipper tape 120 includes first and second members, each including a pair of engaging portions 121 and a flange portion as described below, and a tear strip 123. Examples of resins used to form the zipper tape 120 include low-density polyethylene (LDPE), linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE), and polypropylene (PP). Examples of PP include homopolypropylene (HPP), random polypropylene (RPP), and block polypropylene (BPP). These may be environmentally friendly bioplastics, or a mixture of a fossil fuel-derived resin and a biomass plastic such as biopolyethylene may be used. Further, examples of the resin forming each part of the zipper tape 120 include environmentally friendly biodegradable resins such as polylactic acid (PLA), polybutylene succinate (PBS), poly(butylene adipate / terephthalate) (PBAT), polycaprolactone (PCL), poly(caprolactone / butylene succinate) (PCLBS), poly(butylene succinate / adipate) (PBSA), poly(butylene succinate / carbonate) (PEC), poly(ethylene terephthalate / succinate) (PETS), poly(tetramethylene adipate / terephthalate) (PTMAT), polyethylene succinate (PES), polyvinyl alcohol (PVA-H), polyglycolic acid (PGA), and poly(hydroxybutyrate / hydroxyhexanoate) (PHBH). These biodegradable resins may be derived from biomass. The material of each part of the zipper tape 120 may contain, for example, one or more of the resins exemplified above, and may further contain known additives, such as a stabilizer, an antioxidant, a lubricant, an antistatic agent, or a colorant, as needed.
[0013] In the zipper tape-attached container 100, a tab is formed by a slit 131 that crosses the tear strip 123 in a portion of the zipper tape 120 in the longitudinal direction, specifically near one longitudinal end of the zipper tape 120. A protective film 141 is disposed on the opposite side of the first surface 111A of the film 110, covering at least a portion of the longitudinal section of the zipper tape 120, including the tab. The provision of the protective film 141 prevents a decrease in the airtightness of the container due to the formation of the slit 131. In the illustrated example, a slit 132 is also formed near the other longitudinal end of the zipper tape 120 to define an end point for tearing the first surface 111A by the tear strip 123, and a protective film 142 is also disposed to cover the section including the slit 132. The protective films 141 and 142 are formed, for example, from the same material as the film 110. It should be noted that the notch 132 can be replaced by, for example, a thin portion, in which case the protective film 142 need not be disposed. Also, if the hermeticity of the container can be ensured by other means in the portion where the tab is formed, the protective film need not necessarily be disposed.
[0014] FIG. 2 is a cross-sectional view taken along line II-II in FIG. 1 , showing the cross-sectional shape of the zipper tape. FIG. 3 is a partially enlarged view of FIG. 2 . As shown, the zipper tape 120 shown in FIG. 1 includes a first member 120A and a second member 120B. In cross-sectional view, the first member 120A includes a first engaging portion 121A, a first flange portion 122A extending from the first engaging portion 121A to a first widthwise side of the zipper tape 120, and a second flange portion 122B extending from the first engaging portion 121A to a second widthwise side. Here, the first widthwise side of the zipper tape 120 is specifically the side of the opening formed in the container body by the tear strip 123 when the zipper tape-equipped container 100 is constructed, and the second side is the side opposite the opening. Therefore, for the sake of simplicity, in the following description, the first side and the second side will also be referred to as the opening side and the non-opening side, respectively, but the first side and the second side can be distinguished even before the zipper tape 120 is attached to the film 110, and the above description does not limit the present invention to a state in which the zipper tape 120 constitutes the zipper tape-attached container 100 and an opening is formed in the container body.
[0015] The second member 120B includes, in cross section, a second engaging portion 121B, a third flange portion 122C extending from the second engaging portion 121B toward the opening side, and a fourth flange portion 122D extending from the second engaging portion 121B toward the non-opening side. Alternatively, as shown in FIG. 3, the second member 120B may not include a flange portion extending from the second engaging portion 121B toward the non-opening side. The second engaging portion 121B is engageable with the first engaging portion 121A, constituting the pair of engaging portions 121 shown in FIG. 1. Note that while the first engaging portion 121A is illustrated as a male engaging portion and the second engaging portion 121B as a female engaging portion, the gender roles may be reversed. Furthermore, various types of engaging portions, such as hook-shaped and knob-shaped engaging portions, may be used, and the number of engaging portions may not be limited to one but multiple pairs. With respect to the flange portions of the first member 120A extending in the same direction in cross section, the third flange portion 122C is formed longer than the first flange portion 122A, and the fourth flange portion 122D is formed shorter than the second flange portion 122B or is not formed at all. As shown in the drawing, when attaching the zipper tape 120 to the film 110, the first member 120A is joined to the first surface 111A of the film 110 at least a portion of each of the first flange portion 122A and the second flange portion 122B, and the second member 120B is joined to the first surface 111A of the film 110 at least a portion of the region of the third flange portion 122C that does not face the first flange portion 122A.
[0016] The tear strip 123 is disposed between the first engagement portion 121A and the opening-side end of the third flange 122C. More specifically, in this embodiment, the tear strip 123 is disposed between the opening-side end of the first flange 122A extending from the first engagement portion 121A and the thickened portion 127 formed at the opposing opening-side end of the third flange 122C, i.e., in a portion of the third flange 122C that does not face the first flange 122A. The tear strip 123 may be bonded to the first surface 111A of the film 110 along with other portions of the zipper tape 120. The first surface 111A can be torn to form an opening in the container by grasping and pulling the tear strip 123 from the tab formed by the notch 131. In the illustrated example, the notch 131 is also formed on the second member 120B side, so when the tear strip 123 is initially pulled from the tab, part of the second member 120B is also pulled along with it. However, the second member 120B breaks, for example, at the seal portion where the protective film 141, where the notch 131 is not formed, is joined to the second member 120B, and thereafter the tear strip 123 tears the first surface 111A while peeling off from the second member 120B, specifically the third flange portion 122C.
[0017] To facilitate peeling, the resin forming the second component 120B and the resin forming the tear strip 123 may be a combination of resins with low compatibility. Non-limiting examples of resin combinations with low compatibility are low density polyethylene (LDPE) / random polypropylene (RPP), linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) / RPP (including some m-LL), LDPE / homopolypropylene (HPP), LLDPE / HPP (including some m-LL), LDPE / polystyrene (PS), LLDPE / PS (including m-LL), RPP / PS, HPP / PS, LDPE / polyethylene terephthalate (PET), LLDPE / PET, RPP / PET, HPP / PET, PS / PET, LDPE / nylon (Ny), LLDPE / Ny, RPP / Ny, HPP / Ny, or PS / Ny. If the first and second members 120A, 120B are made of a biodegradable resin, it is preferred that the tear strip 123 also be made of a biodegradable resin.
[0018] In this embodiment, the second flange portion 122B is formed with a sufficient length so that the zipper tape 120 can be stably joined to the film 110 on both sides of the engagement portion 121B. Meanwhile, the fourth flange portion 122D, which is not joined to the film 110, is formed shorter than the second flange portion 122B or is not formed at all. This prevents the fourth flange portion 122D from rolling up when the film 110 to which the zipper tape 120 is joined is wound around a core during the container manufacturing process, as described below. When the fourth flange portion 122D is formed, the length of the fourth flange portion 122D in the cross-sectional shape, i.e., the widthwise dimension w of the zipper tape 120 shown in FIG. 4 , from the end of the irregularly shaped portion of the second engagement portion 121B is preferably 4 mm or less, more preferably 3 mm or less, and even more preferably 2 mm or less. Meanwhile, the dimension w of the fourth flange portion 122D is preferably 0 mm or more, more preferably 0.5 mm or more, and more preferably 1 mm or more. This allows the zipper tape 120 to be stably unwound using the guide during the production of the zipper tape-attached film, and allows the zipper tape 120 to be stably joined without causing problems such as tilting of the zipper tape.
[0019] Furthermore, in this embodiment, the thickness of at least a portion of the second flange portion 122B is greater than the maximum thickness of the first flange portion 122A extending on the opposite side from the engagement portion. More specifically, as shown in FIG. 4 , the thickness t1 of the thick portion 124 formed on the second flange portion 122B is greater than the thickness t3 of the thick portion 126 formed on the first flange portion 122A or the thickness t4 of the rib 125C. If the fourth flange portion 122D is formed, the thick portion 124 is formed in an area of the second flange portion 122B that does not face the fourth flange portion 122D. Alternatively, the thickness t2 of the rib 125A formed on the second flange portion 122B is greater than the thickness t4 of the rib 125C formed on the first flange portion 122A or the thickness t3 of the thick portion 126. When the fourth flange 122D is formed, the rib 125A is also formed in a region of the second flange 122B that does not face the fourth flange 122D. By forming such thick portion 124 and rib 125A, a reduction in the overall thickness of the zipper tape 120 caused by the fourth flange 122D being relatively short or not being formed at all is suppressed.
[0020] By suppressing the reduction in the overall thickness of the zipper tape 120 in the area where the fourth flange portion 122D is not formed, the difference in the overall thickness of the zipper tape 120 on both sides of the engagement portion 121 is reduced, and for example, when joining the zipper tape 120 to the film 110, the first flange portion 122A and the second flange portion 122B can be stably pressed with a seal bar to join it to the film 110.
[0021] As an example, it is preferable that the difference between the maximum thickness t1 or t2 of the second flange portion 122B and the maximum total thickness of the first flange portion 122A and the third flange portion 122C be 100 μm or less. More specifically, it is preferable that the difference between the thickness t1 of the portion of the second flange portion 122B where the thick-walled portion 124 is formed or the thickness t2 of the portion of the rib 125A where the rib 125A is formed and the total thickness t3 + t5 or t4 + t5 of the first flange portion 122A and the third flange portion 122C be 100 μm or less. This difference is more preferably 50 μm or less, even more preferably 30 μm or less, and even more preferably 10 μm or less. Since the smaller the difference, the better, and there is no particular lower limit, but when the thickness of at least a portion of the second flange portion 122B in the width direction is equal to the maximum total thickness of the first flange portion 122A and the third flange portion 122C, the difference is 0 μm. Although FIG. 4 shows an example in which the fourth flange portion 122D is formed, the same applies to an example in which the fourth flange portion is not formed.
[0022] In addition, in order to reduce the difference in overall thickness of the zipper tape 120 or to guide the tearing of the film 110 by the tear strip 123, in addition to the thick portion 124 and the ribs 125A, 125B, a rib 125C and a thick portion 126 may be formed on the first flange portion 122A, and a thick portion 127 may be formed on the third flange portion 122C.
[0023] Furthermore, when the protective film 141 is present as in the illustrated example, a reduction in the overall thickness of the zipper tape 120 in the region where the fourth flange portion 122D is not formed is suppressed, thereby enabling the protective film 141 to be stably bonded to the film 110 and the zipper tape 120. More specifically, the peripheral portion of the protective film 141 is bonded to the film 110 on both sides of the zipper tape 120, the third flange portion 122C of the second member 120B, and the second flange portion 122B of the first member 120A. For example, if the second flange portion 122B has a thick portion 124, the protective film 141 can be stably bonded to this thick portion. Stable bonding of the protective film 141 to the second flange portion 122B at the peripheral portion more reliably prevents a reduction in the airtightness of the container due to the formation of the notch 131.
[0024] As described above, in the first embodiment of the present invention, by forming the fourth flange portion 122D, which is not joined to the film 110 of the zipper tape 120, shorter than the second flange portion 122B or by not forming the fourth flange portion 122D, it is possible to prevent the fourth flange portion 122D from rolling up when the film 110 to which the zipper tape 120 is joined is wound around a core in the container manufacturing process. Furthermore, by making the thickness of at least a portion of the second flange portion 122B larger than the thickness of the first flange portion 122A, it is possible to improve the stability of joining, for example, when joining the zipper tape 120 to the film 110 or when joining the protective film 141 to the film 110 and the zipper tape 120.
[0025] FIG. 5 is a cross-sectional view of a zipper tape-attached container according to a second embodiment of the present invention. This embodiment differs from the first embodiment in the arrangement of the tear strip 123, but the remaining configuration is similar, so a detailed description thereof will be omitted. In this embodiment, the tear strip 123 is provided at the opening end of the first flange 122A. As shown in the example, a thinned portion 122E may be formed at the opening end of the first flange 122A, and the tear strip 123 may be laminated on the side of the thinned portion 122E facing the second component 120B. In this case, the tear strip 123, pulled from the tab, peels away from the third flange 122C, tearing a portion of the first flange 122A, such as the thinned portion 122E, along with the first surface 111A, to form an opening in the container.
[0026] FIG. 6 is a cross-sectional view of a zipper tape-attached container according to a third embodiment of the present invention. This embodiment differs from the first embodiment in the arrangement of the tear strip 223, but the remaining configuration is similar, and therefore a detailed description thereof will be omitted. In this embodiment, the tear strip 223 is formed at the opening end of the first flange 122A. Therefore, the first member 120A, including the first flange 122A, and the tear strip 223 are formed, for example, from the same material. Furthermore, a release layer 224 is provided between the tear strip 223 and the third flange 122C. By providing the release layer 224, the tear strip 223 can be easily peeled from the third flange 122C when pulled, even if the first member 120A and the second member 120B of the zipper tape 120 and the tear strip 223 are formed from the same material. The first member 120A, the second member 120B, the tear strip 223, and the release layer 224 may be formed from a combination of resins with low compatibility, such as those mentioned above.
[0027] FIG. 7 is a cross-sectional view showing a modified example applicable to each of the above-described embodiments. In the above-described embodiment, examples have been described in which thickened portions 124, 126, and 127 and ribs 125A, 125B, and 125C are formed on the zipper tape 120, but these configurations are not required. For example, as shown in the figure, each flange portion may not have a rib or thickened portion, and the second flange portion 122B may be thickened overall in the first region R1 where the second flange portion 122B does not face the fourth flange portion 122D. While the thickened portion 128 is illustrated as a stepped portion, it may instead be a portion in which the second flange portion 122B gradually becomes thicker toward the non-opening end. Furthermore, ribs and thickened portions do not necessarily have to be formed uniformly on all flange portions; for example, ribs or thickened portions, or both, may be formed only on some flange portions. Furthermore, if the hermeticity of the container can be ensured by other means in the portion where the tab is formed, a protective film, as shown in the figure, may not necessarily be disposed.
[0028] FIG. 8 is a diagram showing a zipper tape-attached film according to an embodiment of the present invention. The zipper tape 120 described above may be joined to, for example, a roll-shaped film 110 before being formed into a container body, to provide a zipper tape-attached film 300. In this case, the width direction of the film 110 coincides with the longitudinal direction of the zipper tape 120. As described above as the configuration of a zipper tape-attached container, at least a portion of each of the first flange 122A and the second flange 122B of the zipper tape 120 and at least a portion of the region of the third flange 122C that does not face the first flange are joined to the film 110. Furthermore, when protective films 141 and 142 are disposed, the protective films 141 and 142 are disposed on at least a portion of the zipper tape 120 in the longitudinal direction so as to cover the tab notches 131 and 132 from the opposite side to the film 110. As will be explained below, the container body is formed by the film 110 on both longitudinal ends of the zipper tape 120, so the width L1 of the film 110 is at least twice the length L2 of the zipper tape.
[0029] FIG. 9 shows modified examples of tabs applicable to each embodiment. In the illustrated example, the slit 131 forming the tab includes multiple portions 131A, 131B, 131C, and 131D sandwiching a non-formed portion 133 therebetween. The tab is formed by breaking the non-formed portion 133 to connect the multiple portions 131A, 131B, 131C, and 131D to one another. This prevents the tab formed by the slit 131 from lifting up when the zipper tape is wound into a film with a zipper tape, as shown in FIG. 8 . For this purpose, it is effective to provide the non-formed portion 133 between the portions 131A and 131B corresponding to one end of the tab when viewed in the width direction of the zipper tape, and the non-formed portion 133 between the portions 131C and 131D corresponding to the other end of the tab. In this case, the non-formed portion 133 between the portions 131B and 131C does not necessarily have to be formed. These examples are not limiting, and the notches 131 forming the tabs may be divided into more or fewer portions than those shown in the examples. Also, the shape of the tabs is not limited to the examples shown in the drawings, and any other shape is possible.
[0030] FIG. 10 is a diagram illustrating a manufacturing process for a zipper tape-attached container according to an embodiment of the present invention. In the illustrated example, the manufacturing apparatus 500 includes a supply mechanism 501 for supplying the zipper tape-attached film 300 described above, a winding core 502, a conveyor belt 503, and a rear seal forming unit 504. The zipper tape-attached film 300 is wound around the winding core 502 and transported from top to bottom by the conveyor belt 503. The winding core 502 has a substantially circular cross section at its upper portion, allowing the zipper tape-attached film 300 to be smoothly wound into a cylindrical shape. The cylindrically wound film 110 is folded back on both sides in the width direction, i.e., on both longitudinal ends of the zipper tape 120, thereby forming the first surface 111A and the second surface 111B of the container body described above. The area to which the zipper tape 120 is joined becomes the first surface 111A. The rear seal forming section 504 forms the rear seal portion 112 by joining both widthwise edges of the wound film 110 by a method such as heat sealing. The area where the rear seal portion 112 is formed becomes the second surface 111B.
[0031] In an embodiment of the present invention, when the zipper tape-attached film 300 is wound around the winding core 502 in the above-mentioned manufacturing process, it is possible to prevent the flange portion of the zipper tape 120 that is not joined to the film 110, specifically the above-mentioned fourth flange portion 122D, from rolling up, or the engagement portion 121 from opening as a result of the flange portion rolling up.
[0032] Manufacturing apparatus 500 further includes seal bars 505 and 506, a cutter 507, and a receiving table 508. Seal bars 505 and 506 include portions that face each other on both the upper and lower sides of cutter 507, and these facing portions form top seal portion 113 and bottom seal portion 114 in film 110 by a method such as heat sealing. Cutter 507 moves toward and away from receiving table 508, cutting film 110 in the width direction near top seal portion 113 and bottom seal portion 114.
[0033] Here, the above-mentioned winding core 502 is hollow, and a filling device 509 is inserted into the interior from above. The filling device 509 discharges the contents in synchronization with the sealing bars 505, 506 sandwiching the film 110. This allows the contents to be filled into the storage space formed above the bottom seal portion 114. When the sealing bars 505, 506 separate, the contents are transported downward over the sealing bars 505, 506 together with the film 110, and then the sealing bars 505, 506 sandwich the film 110 to form the top seal portion 113, thereby sealing the storage space.
[0034] The zipper tape-attached container 100 can be manufactured by the manufacturing process described above. Note that the above process is an example, and various modifications are possible. For example, the film 110 without the zipper tape 120 attached may be supplied, and the manufacturing process of the zipper tape-attached film 300, which includes joining the zipper tape 120, forming the incisions 131 and 132, and joining the protective films 141 and 142, and the manufacturing process of the zipper tape-attached container described above may be carried out as a series of processes.
