Abstract
Description
[0001] tape
[0002] The invention relates to an adhesive tape, in particular for construction purposes, with an improved carrier material.
[0003] Single-sided adhesive tapes enable, among other things, the sealing of all types of penetrations, joints, and cracks that need to be sealed, especially during the interior construction of buildings. Adhesive tapes are subject to stringent requirements regarding their temperature resistance, chemical resistance, stretchability, adhesive strength, durability, and sealing ability.
[0004] Today, single-sided adhesive tapes based on elastic plastics are primarily used to efficiently seal penetrations and joints. These tapes are usually protected on the adhesive side before use. The well-known sealing tapes based on butyl rubber, thanks to their stretchability, allow for flexible bonding of all penetrations through vapor retarders, vapor barriers, and air / wind barriers, such as rafters, purlins, vent pipes, and electrical conduits.
[0005] CH686673 is a stretchable and tear-resistant single-sided adhesive tape for construction purposes. Several decades have passed since this tape was developed, and the requirements, standards, and materials in the construction industry have changed.
[0006] The present invention is therefore based on the object of creating an improved adhesive tape which takes into account the latest developments and requirements in the construction sector.
[0007] Furthermore, the improved adhesive tape should represent a marketable and competitive development. In particular, the adhesive tape should be manufactured in a resource-efficient manner.
[0008] Furthermore, the adhesive tape should be suitable for use in the construction sector, in particular for sealing purposes in the construction sector.
[0009] In addition, the adhesive tape should be easy to produce and largely free of solvents and, in particular, free of household toxins.
[0010] Furthermore, the adhesive tape should be durable and have strong adhesion to surfaces and materials commonly used in the construction industry.
[0011] This object is achieved with an adhesive tape having the features specified in claim i. Advantageous embodiments of the invention are specified in further claims.
[0012] The adhesive tape, which is particularly suitable for use in the construction sector, comprises a film-shaped carrier layer having a first surface, which is at least partially covered by an adhesive layer, and a second surface. Furthermore, the adhesive tape comprises a reinforcing layer extending over a large area along the carrier layer.
[0013] According to the invention, the carrier layer comprises a plastic recyclate material which is obtained from the processing of industrial and / or consumer waste.
[0014] The tape has a reduced ecological footprint during production. Recyclable materials are reused and do not need to be disposed of.
[0015] If necessary—for example, during dismantling—the adhesive tape can be removed from the component and recycled again. The adhesive tape is therefore suitable for the circular economy.
[0016] The carrier layer and reinforcement layer are preferably bonded together. Particularly preferably, the carrier layer and reinforcement layer are glued together. The recycled plastic material of the carrier layer is particularly preferably a "post-consumer recycled" (PCR) material according to DIN EN ISO 14021. In a further preferred embodiment, the recycled plastic material of the carrier layer is a "post-industrial recycled" (PIR) material according to DIN EN ISO 14021.
[0017] More preferably, the recycled plastic material has a quality defined according to DIN SPEC 91446. This ensures consistent quality in the production of the adhesive tape.
[0018] In a preferred embodiment, the weight fraction of recycled plastic material in the carrier layer is more than 20%, preferably more than 30%, and particularly preferably more than 50%. This significantly reduces the ecological footprint of the adhesive tape.
[0019] In particularly preferred embodiments according to the invention, the adhesive layer is covered over a large area by a liner extending along the adhesive tape. This prevents the adhesive layer from accidentally sticking together when rolled up. The liner preferably comprises a recycled plastic material.
[0020] In a preferred embodiment, the adhesive layer comprises an acrylate-based adhesive, preferably methyl acrylate-based. The adhesive layer preferably has a basis weight of at least 0.05 kg / m² in the ready-to-use state. 2 , preferably at least 0.08kg / m 2 , particularly preferably at least 0.2 kg / m 2More preferably, the adhesive layer has a maximum basis weight of 3.0 kg / m 2 , preferably a maximum of 2.0 kg / m 2 , particularly preferably maximum 1.5kg / m 2 on.
[0021] The adhesive tape adheres well and permanently to materials commonly used in construction. This ensures consistent and long-lasting performance of the adhesive tape when installed.
[0022] In a particularly preferred embodiment, the carrier layer comprises polyolefin and / or polypropylene and / or polyethylene and / or polyester or combinations or copolymers thereof. The carrier layer is thus simple and inexpensive to produce. In further preferred embodiments, the carrier layer comprises ethylene-vinyl acetate and / or thermoplastic elastomeric ester-ester block copolymers and / or polybutylene terephthalate and / or
[0023] Polyvinyl chloride and / or polystyrene.
[0024] In a preferred embodiment, the adhesive tape is designed such that the carrier layer is at least 25 μm thick, preferably at least 30 μm thick, more preferably at least 40 μm thick. The carrier layer is preferably at most 200 μm thick, more preferably at most 150 μm thick, and particularly preferably at most 100 μm thick. The adhesive tape thus has a total thickness suitable for construction applications.
[0025] In a preferred embodiment, the reinforcement layer comprises a recycled plastic material. The reinforcement layer preferably comprises at least one thread layer. The thread layer can comprise longitudinal, transverse, and / or diagonal threads, and combinations thereof. The reinforcement layer provides the adhesive tape with mechanical stability, preventing accidental tearing of the adhesive tape or pieces thereof during installation. At the same time, the adhesive tape remains easy to cut, making it simple to process.
[0026] The adhesive tape is preferably free of household toxins, especially according to Emicode®. The adhesive tape preferably meets the EC1+ class according to Emicode®. Therefore, the adhesive tape does not pose a health hazard, even if it is left on building elements for years.
[0027] The adhesive tape preferably has an sd value (according to DIN EN ISO 12572) between 0.1 and 50 m. The adhesive tape is particularly preferably vapor-barrier-resistant. The adhesive tape is therefore suitable for use in the building envelope.
[0028] In a particularly preferred embodiment of the invention, the carrier layer is at least partially elastic. In a further preferred embodiment of the invention, the adhesive tape is stretchable. The term "stretchable" is used herein as commonly understood by a person skilled in the art.
[0029] The adhesive tape preferably has a peel strength according to the FINAT FTM 1 standard of more than 15 N / 25 mm, preferably more than 12 N / 25 mm, and more preferably more than 10 N / 25 mm. The adhesive tape thus exhibits high and long-lasting adhesive strength.
[0030] The production of an adhesive tape according to the invention is preferably carried out by processes known from the prior art, such as extrusion, co-extrusion, lamination, calendering, doctor blade coating, coating processes, rolling processes, melt casting processes, cast film processes or combinations thereof.
[0031] The use of an adhesive tape according to the invention for use in the construction sector is also the subject of this invention. In particular, the use of an adhesive tape according to the invention for sealing penetrations, joints, or cracks in the construction sector is the subject of this invention.
