Description

[0001] Vehicle Speed Limiting System

[0002] The invention relates to the automotive industry, automobile transport, and in particular to traffic safety systems for vehicles with lifting mechanisms.

[0003] The prior art provides various methods for improving traffic safety of vehicles. Thus, a system for automatically lowering a vehicle's hydraulic lifting mechanism is known (RU Patent No. 2790890 Cl, published on 02 / 28 / 2023), based on the principle of comparing the vehicle speed and the pressure in the hydraulic system of the lifting mechanism. If the vehicle speed and the pressure in the hydraulic system of the lifting mechanism are higher than those set in the controller, then the controller's signal releases the pressure and the lifting mechanism lowers. This system ensures the lowering of the lifting mechanism when the vehicle is moving, but does not exclude the possibility of failure of the pressure sensor or actuator, as a result of which the lowering of the lifting mechanism will not occur.

[0004] A method is known for reducing accidents when driving a vehicle (dump truck) with a raised body (RU Patent No. 2519572, published on 20.06.2014). The gear shift mechanism control drive has an electromagnetic device for regulating gear shifting depending on the position of a push-button switch controlled by a pusher mounted on the body, while in the cabin there is an audible device triggered by the push-button switch. When unloading, the dump truck body is in an inclined position, i.e. raised, the pusher does not act on the push-button switch, a command is sent to the electromagnetic device to lock the gear shift mechanism, with the exception of first and reverse gears, and at the same time an audible signal is sent to the driver that the body is raised. When moving, the body, being in a horizontal position, acts on the push-button switch, the electromagnetic device receives a command to unlock the gear shift mechanism and the audible signal is turned off. This system ensures the gearbox lock and audible warning to the driver when the body is raised, but the signal from the pushbutton switch is not duplicated, and 30 there is a possibility of its failure (sticking in the pressed position), as a result of which the gearbox will not be locked. A device for signaling the position of the body of a dump truck is known (USSR Author's Certificate No. 1331694, published on 23.08.1987) - "Signaling device on vehicles used to indicate the dimensions of vehicles or their parts". This invention gives a visual signal to the driver about the state of the vehicle body, but does not limit the vehicle in any way in terms of speed.

[0005] The closest analogue to the claimed invention is a vehicle speed reduction system (RU Patent No. 2021156, published on 15.10.1994), comprising a synchronous generator, to the output circuit of which the working driving and auxiliary windings of the magnetic amplifier are connected via a rectifier, a traction generator exciter, the excitation winding of which is connected to the working winding of the magnetic amplifier, equipped with a vehicle body position sensor, a key element, an adjustment resistor and a control button, wherein a circuit of a series-connected key element, the control input of which is connected to the output of the position sensor, an adjustment resistor, a control button and an auxiliary winding of the magnetic amplifier is connected in parallel to the driving winding of the magnetic amplifier. In the event of a body lift while driving as a result of malfunction of the body tipping mechanism or incorrect actions of the driver, an abnormal situation is created: the vehicle itself suddenly reduces the speed of movement. The driver is forced to stop the movement and understand the reason for the sudden decrease in speed.

[0006] The disadvantages of the known solution are the low reliability of the speed limitation system based on one sensor of the position of the lifting mechanism, the lack of notification of the system about the decrease in speed, which can lead to additional emergency situations due to the need to stop the vehicle on the highway.

[0007] The technical objective of the claimed invention is the creation of a system for ensuring traffic safety and reducing the accident rate of vehicles with lifting mechanisms.

[0008] The technical result of the present invention is the automatic regulation of the speed of the vehicle when driving with a raised mechanism, increasing the upper dimension. The said technical result is ensured by the fact that the vehicle speed limitation system contains a speed limiting device (1) connected to the standard electrical wiring of the vehicle and made with the possibility of non-stop real-time monitoring of signals about the speed of the vehicle and the position of its lifting mechanism. The speed limiting device (1) is connected to a vehicle speed sensor (2), to two vehicle lifting mechanism position sensors (3) and to an actuator (4) with the ability to send a speed limiting control signal to the actuator (4) if at least one of the lifting mechanism position sensors (3) does not send a signal that the lifting mechanism is in the transport position. The speed limiting device (1) receives two signals about the position of the vehicle lifting mechanism from two sensors (3) independent of each other. The first sensor is an induction relay sensor, the second is a discrete pressure sensor.

[0009] The speed limiting system is equipped with a system for audible and visual notification of the driver about the operation of the speed limiting device (1).

[0010] The actuator (4) may be an electronic accelerator pedal, a throttle valve or a fuel solenoid valve of the vehicle.

[0011] The speed limiting system may be additionally equipped with a speed limit setting cancellation button (5), connected to the speed limiting device (1) and located in the vehicle cabin.

[0012] The speed limitation system may additionally comprise an electric field strength sensor (6) connected to the speed limitation device (1). The vehicle may be, in particular, a dump truck, a truck crane, a mobile lift, or a boom lift.

[0013] The speed limitation system operates as follows. An inductive relay sensor is installed directly under the lifting mechanism of the vehicle. Its operating principle is based on the interaction of the electromagnetic field generated by the sensor -relay's sensitive element (the inductance coil of the LC generator) with an external metal object of influence (the outer side of the bottom of the lifting mechanism). When an object hits an impact in the electromagnetic field zone of the coil, the generation stops, the demodulated voltage drops and the threshold device is triggered, which leads to a change in the state of the switching element (output key). In this way, a corresponding signal is formed, which is perceived by the speed limiting device (1) as information about the position of the lifting mechanism from the inductive sensorrelay.

[0014] The discrete pressure sensor is installed in the hydraulic system of the hydraulic cylinder of the lifting mechanism. The discrete pressure sensor has normally closed contacts in the absence of pressure. As soon as pressure appears in the hydraulic cylinder of the lifting mechanism (which is a mandatory condition for lifting and holding the lifting mechanism in the raised (non-transport) position), this pressure opens the contacts of the pressure sensor. In this way, a corresponding signal is formed from the discrete pressure sensor, which is perceived by the speed limiting device (1) as information about the position of the lifting mechanism.

[0015] The speed limiting device (1) supplies power to the electrical circuit of both sensors (3), while monitoring the receipt of a signal about the position of the lifting mechanism, which, in turn, consists in breaking the electrical circuit of the corresponding sensor. For this reason, in the event of mechanical damage (break) of the electrical circuit of any of the sensors, its failure, the speed limiting device (1) perceives this event as a corresponding signal about the non-transport position of the lifting mechanism and activates the speed limitation of the vehicle.

[0016] The advantage of installing two sensors is the duplication of the signal about the position of the lifting mechanism, which increases the degree of reliability of the system and in the event of mechanical damage (break) of the electrical circuit of any of the sensors, its failure, the speed limiting device perceives it as a signal about the non-transport position of the lifting mechanism, which also increases the degree of reliability.

[0017] The essence of the claimed invention is explained by Fig. 1 and Fig. 2, which show the diagrams of the claimed speed limiting system.

[0018] A sensor (2) of the current speed of the vehicle and two sensors (3) of the position of the lifting mechanism are connected to the speed limiting device (1) via a communication channel.

[0019] The output of the speed limiting device (1) is connected to the actuator (4) that regulates the speed of the vehicle by acting on the electronic accelerator pedal of the vehicle, on the electric throttle drive or the fuel solenoid valve.

[0020] The term "connected" or "connected" in this application shall be understood to mean any known communication channel by means of which signals can be transmitted or received.

[0021] When programming the speed limiting device (1), an additional speed limitation (limiting movement to a specified value (e.g. 10 km / h)) of the vehicle is set based on two signals received from two installed sensors (3) of the position of the lifting mechanism.

[0022] If the lifting mechanism of the vehicle is in the transport position, then the speed limiting device (1) receives signals from two sensors (3) of the position of the lifting mechanism and no additional speed limitation occurs.

[0023] If at least one of the signals from any of two sensors (3) of the lifting mechanism does not arrive at a setting for an additional speed limit is made and a control signal is sent to the actuator (4), which controls the data generated by the electronic accelerator pedal, the electric throttle drive or the position of the fuel solenoid valve, which does not provide the vehicle with the speed set in the additional restrictions, while the driver is given a light and sound signal above.

[0024] If one of the sensors (3) of the lifting mechanism position fails, or there is mechanical damage (break) to the power supply of the sensor (3) electrical circuit or the signal transmission line , at least one sensor (3), as well as the installation on the device (1) is implemented, limits the speed according to the additional restriction and a control signal is sent to the actuator (4), which does not allow vehicles to move at a higher speed set in the additional restriction, and also notifies the driver with a light and sound signal.

[0025] In some cases, there is a need for an adjustable vehicle with a lifting lifting mechanism. For example, at construction sites after unloading a dump truck cannot leave due to soft ground and wheel slippage. Drivers often use the dump truck body lift to additionally load the rear axle and increase traction with the ground. This function is implemented during the installation of the speed limitation system during transportation by programming the speed limiting device (1) and connecting an additional button (5) to the input device (1) that cancels the speed limits set in the driver's cab.

[0026] The driver can move and hold the instruments installed on the panel vehicle buttons (5) temporarily (while he holds this button) change the preset value of the permissible maximum speed of the vehicle when raising the lifting mechanism to the second preset value of the permissible speed of the vehicle in the device (1) limiting the speed, which includes the first (at a safe value, for example 20-30 km / 30 hours) and will be available all the time until the driver presses the button (5). This makes it possible to increase the rotation speed of the leading vehicles, which will allow the vehicle to continue moving if it encounters conditions in which there is insufficient traction with the surface on which the vehicle is located (mud, snow, ice, etc.). After the complete lowering of the lifting mechanical vehicle and the forward signal with two sensors (3), the speed limiting device (1) cancels the additional restriction of movement with the lifting lifting mechanism, and the vehicle can continue moving in the normal mode without restriction.

[0027] In cases where vehicles with a lifting mechanism are operating in closing the connection with the power lines to avoid a break in these lines by the raised lifting mechanism, the declared vehicle speed limiting system provides for a complete restriction of the movement of vehicles (0 km / h) with a raised lifting mechanism if it is in a transition row with power lines.

[0028] This function is implemented in the vehicle speed limitation system by programming the speed limitation device (1) and connecting to the input of the device (1) an additional signal from the field opening limitation sensor (6) located on the lifting mechanical vehicle.

[0029] An electric field strength sensor (6) is installed on the vehicle lifting mechanism, which detects the electric field strength emitted by the power transmission lines. When a vehicle with a raised lifting mechanism approaches a limited speed, set by the limitation with the raised lifting mechanism, to an area in which power transmission lines are located, the electric field strength sensor (6) sends a signal to the input of the speed limiting device (1). In the device (1), the previously set speed limit setting (0 km / h) is triggered when approaching a power transmission line and a signal is sent to the actuator (4), which completely blocks the movement of the vehicle, while a light and sound signal is sent to the driver. To continue driving, the driver must lower the lifting mechanism (return it to the transport position). Signals are sent from the sensors (3) of the lifting mechanism position to the speed limiting device (1) that the lifting mechanism is in the transport position and the speed limit setting (0 km / h) is removed. The vehicle can continue its movement without restrictions.
