Description

Description Title of the invention: CLOSING DEVICE FOR A HOUSING, IN PARTICULAR A HOUSING CONFIGURED TO RECEIVE AN ELECTRONIC COMPONENT, AND AN ARRANGEMENT INCLUDING THE SUCH COMPONENT

[0001] The invention relates to a closure device for a housing, in particular a housing configured to contain at least one electronic component. The invention also relates to an arrangement comprising a housing and a closure device according to the invention. Finally, the invention relates to a method for assembling an arrangement according to the invention.

[0002] In the automotive industry, housings containing electronic components, particularly power electronics, typically include at least one emergency access hatch allowing access to the inside of the housing as needed. These hatches are usually closed with a single sheet metal cover. To ensure proper sealing against dust and moisture, the hatch is secured by clamping at multiple points, thus ensuring a uniform clamping of the cover onto the housing, which allows the cover's gasket to be compressed.

[0003] Such access panels have the disadvantage of requiring multiple tightenings and a larger-than-necessary access opening in the enclosure. Consequently, they may not be adequately shielded against electromagnetic fields. Furthermore, different access panel designs must be available for different enclosure designs.

[0004] The invention falls within this context and aims to provide a closure device for a housing and an arrangement including said closure device allowing simplified opening and closing of the access hatch as well as a watertight closure capable of limiting electromagnetic fields and preventing the entry of moisture or dust.

[0005] The invention thus relates to a closing device for an access hatch of a housing, in particular a housing configured to receive at least one electronic element, comprising: - at least one closure cap comprising a body configured to be placed in an opening of the housing, a rim configured to rest against a surface of the housing, a head and a sealing gasket; - a plate comprising a gutter, configured to receive the head of F, at least one closing plug so that it is able to be moved along said gutter, and at least one orifice; - at least one means of fixing the plate relative to the housing configured to be disposed in F at least one hole.

[0006] Notably : - F at least one closure cap is made of a metallic material, such as aluminum; and / or - the plate is made of a metallic material or a plastic material.

[0007] According to optional implementation examples: - the body and head of F, at least one of which has a closing cap, are made of material; or - the head of F at least one closing cap is added and fixed to the body.

[0008] Optionally, at least one closing plug is removable relative to the plate, the plate including a hole, opening into the gutter, of a dimension strictly greater than the head of at least one closing plug and configured to receive said head.

[0009] Optionally, F at least one closure cap includes at least one deformable tooth or slat configured to permit cooperation by clipping of F at least one closure cap with the housing.

[0010] According to one exemplary embodiment, the closure device comprises a plurality of closure plugs, each comprising a body, a head and a sealing gasket, each of said closure plugs being configured to cooperate with the plate.

[0011] The invention also relates to an arrangement comprising a closure device according to the invention and a housing delimiting an internal volume, in particular suitable for receiving at least one electronic element, and comprising at least one opening, suitable for receiving at least one closure plug of the receiving device, and at least one receiving area for at least one fastening means.

[0012] Notably : - F at least one closure cap of the closure device includes at least one shoulder and the opening of the case includes at least one support edge of F at least one shoulder; and / or - the case includes a flat portion, surrounding at least one opening F.

[0013] The invention also relates to a motor vehicle comprising an arrangement and / or a closing device according to the invention.

[0014] The invention also relates to a method for assembling an arrangement according to the invention, comprising positioning at least one closure cap (F) in a suitable position relative to the plate by sliding said closure cap in the guide for its insertion into at least one opening in the housing (F), positioning the assembly formed by the plate and at least one closure cap (F) on the housing so that at least one closure cap (F) is disposed in at least one opening (F), and then fixing the plate relative to the housing, by the intermediary of F at least one means of fixing, so as to press F at least one closing plug against at least one part of the housing.

[0024] Figure 9 is a schematic cross-sectional representation of an alternative embodiment of the arrangement.

[0025] Figures 2 to 9 illustrate examples of embodiments of an arrangement 1 according to the invention. Figure 1 schematically illustrates a particular embodiment in which the arrangement 1 according to the invention is integrated, without limitation, into a vehicle 2, in particular a motor vehicle 2. The vehicle 2 considered may have a combustion engine, an electric motor, or a hybrid powertrain. For example, the vehicle 2 may be a passenger car or a commercial vehicle.

[0026] Throughout the description below, the terms "first", "second" and "third" are intended to distinguish similar elements and not to define a hierarchy within said elements.

[0027] In general, arrangement 1 includes a housing 3 and a closing device 4.

[0028] An outer enclosure surrounding one or more defined components is called a "housing 3". The housing 3 comprises a plurality of walls delimiting an internal volume 300. In particular, the housing 3 is suitable for receiving at least one electronic element, for example, power electronics, and is advantageously suitable for limiting electromagnetic fields emitted by it, as further explained below. Additionally or alternatively, the housing 3 is optionally suitable to allow the circulation of a fluid, in particular a liquid such as a coolant. The housing 3 includes at least one opening 31, leading into the internal volume 300, allowing in particular the formation of an access hatch, for example emergency access, to the contents of the housing 3. For example, the housing 3 is made of a metallic material, such as steel and / or aluminum.

[0029] In general, the closure device 4 according to the invention comprises at least one closure cap 5, a plate 6 and at least one fastening means 7. It is understood that the following description relating to the closure device 4 included in the arrangement 1 according to the invention, extends to the closure device 4 as such or to the closure device 4 intended to be used in the arrangement 1, in cooperation with the housing 3.

[0030] The plate 6 includes at least one opening 61, configured to receive F at least one fastening means 7, and a channel 62, in particular a through channel, configured to cooperate with F at least one closure plug 5. "Gutter" means a cutout, channel, groove, or other feature suitable for cooperating with F at least one closure plug 5, as further detailed below. "Through" means that the gutter 62 extends, for example, between a first face 601 of the plate 6, configured to face F at least one closure plug 5 and the housing 3 when the closure device 4 is assembled, and a second face 602, opposite the first face 601. Preferably, the gutter 62, or cutout, is closed at its various ends. According to an alternative embodiment, not shown, the gutter 62 is open on at least one side, that is to say it opens at one end of the plate 6.

[0031] Note that Figures 6 to 8 illustrate non-limiting examples of the shape of plate 6 and gutter 62. Preferably, plate 6 is planar or substantially planar, meaning it lies within the same plane. For example, it is rectilinear, circular, ovoid, T-shaped, L-shaped, or cross-shaped. Similarly, according to non-limiting examples, gutter 62 can be rectilinear, U-shaped, L-shaped, or cross-shaped. Gutter 62 extends along one or more defined directions, in particular, lying within the same plane.

[0032] Preferably, plate 6 is made of a metallic material, such as sheet metal, steel and / or aluminum. Alternatively, plate 6 is made of a plastic material, in particular a filled plastic material, such as polypropylene or polyamide.

[0033] The at least one closure cap 5 comprises a body 51, a head 52, and a sealing gasket 53. The closure device 4 advantageously comprises one or more closure caps 5 which may have similar or distinct shapes. The invention also allows adaptation to different shapes of the less an opening 31 by modifying the shape of F at least one closing plug 5. It is understood that the description here is made with reference to a closing plug 5 but may extend to all or part of a plurality of closing plugs 5.

[0034] The body 51 is configured to be placed in at least one opening 31 of the housing 3. The body 51 is also complementary in shape to at least one opening 31. It should be noted that, in the illustrated embodiment, at least one closure plug 5 has, but is not limited to, a cylindrical shape, in particular with a circular base configured to cooperate with a circular opening 31. Preferably, the body 51 comprises a hollow shape, including at least one side 51a, here a side 51a forming a circular periphery of the closure plug 5, and a cover 51b, connected to at least one side 51a and closing one side of said closure plug so as to close at least one opening 31. The body 51 thus comprises, in a non-limiting example, a U-shaped profile allowing for a reduction in mass and material. In an alternative not shown, the body 51 comprises a solid shape.

[0035] Optionally, but preferably, in order to optimally limit the propagation of electromagnetic fields, the body 51 includes a continuous periphery. In other words, here, the side 51a is continuous and delimits at least part of the periphery of the body 51 from at least one closing plug 5.

[0036] At least one closure cap 5, in particular at least the body 51 of said cap, is made of a metallic material, such as aluminum, an aluminum alloy, or steel. This design ensures metal-to-metal contact between at least one closure cap 5 and the housing 3 in order to limit the propagation of electromagnetic fields emitted within the housing 3.

[0037] Optionally, the body 51 includes a rim 54 configured to bear against a surface of the housing 3, in particular an external surface 301 of the housing 3, opposite the internal volume 300, and / or an intermediate surface 302, delimiting at least one opening 31 and connecting the external surface 302 to an internal surface 303, facing the internal volume 300, of the housing 3. Such a principle aims to optimize the limitation of the propagation of electromagnetic fields outside the internal volume 300. In this case, the rim 54 is included in the cover 51b of the body 51. According to an exemplary embodiment, illustrated in [Fig.3], 5 or 9, the body 51 is dimensioned such that a largest dimension measured at the rim 54, here of the cover 51b, is strictly greater than a largest dimension measured at the rest of the body 51, for example measured at a portion of the body 51 configured to be inserted into at least one opening 31 of the housing 3, here at least one side 51a. A "largest dimension" is understood here to mean a diameter or a diagonal of the body 51, depending on its shape.

[0038] Optionally, but preferably, the housing 3 includes a flat portion 32, surrounding F at least one opening 31 so as to allow suitable support of F for at least one closing plug 5. In particular, said flat portion 32 includes at least a part of the external surface 301 of the housing 3. As illustrated in [Fig. 3], 5 or 9, the flat portion 32 optionally forms a raised area relative to the rest of the wall comprising F at least one opening 31. Alternatively, such a flat portion 32 forms a recess in said wall.

[0039] The head 52 forms an outgrowth extending beyond the rest of the body 51. Preferably, the body 51 and the head 52 of at least one cap are made from a single piece of material. In other words, the body 51, for example the lid 51b, and the head 52 form a single unit that cannot be separated without resulting in the degradation, or even destruction, of at least one cap 5.

[0040] According to alternative embodiments, not shown, the head 52 is attached and fixed to the body 51 of the closure cap 5, for example riveted, screwed, glued or welded to the body 51.

[0041] The head 52 is configured to be inserted into the groove 62 of the plate 6 and to be moved in the slide formed by the latter in different positions, in particular for the purpose of placing F at least one closing plug 5 comprising said head 52 in the at least one opening 31 of the housing 3. The groove 62 is thus shaped and dimensioned so as to be able to receive the head 52 and to cooperate with it.

[0042] The head 52 includes, in particular, a base 52a, connected to the body 51, which is here connected to the cover 51b. The head 52 further includes a stop element 52b, forming a free end of the head 52 and configured to extend against the plate 6 along an extension axis 50 of the base 52a. The extension axis 50 of the base 52a extends, in particular, along a direction transverse to, or even orthogonal to, the extension direction of the gutter 62 of the plate 6 or at least one of the extension directions of the gutter 62. The stop element 52b may, in particular, have a circular or substantially circular shape. The base 52a may, in particular, have a shape complementary to the gutter 62 and, optionally and without limitation, may have a cylindrical shape, for example, with a circular base 52a.

[0043] Specifically, the stop element 52b has a dimension strictly greater than one dimension of the base 52a, said dimensions being defined in a plane including the extension axis 50 of the base 52a and measured orthogonally to said axis. These dimensions correspond here to the largest dimension of the base 52a and the stop element 52b, for example, a diagonal or a diameter. Consequently, the base 52a is dimensioned to allow its cooperation and movement within the groove 62 of the plate 6, while the stop element 52b has a dimension strictly greater than a width of the gutter 62. In other words, the stop element 52b is thus dimensioned and shaped so as to extend in relation to at least part of the material of the plate 6 when the closing device 4 is assembled.

[0044] Thus, when at least one closing plug 5 is mounted in the plate 6, the base 52a of the head 52 extends into the gutter 62 while the stop element 52b and the body 51 of the at least one closing plug 5 extend on either side of the plate 6. In other words, the plate 6s is configured to be interposed between the body 51 and at least a part of the head 52, in this case the stop element 52b, of the at least one closing plug 5 along at least one direction.

[0045] According to a preferred embodiment, at least one end cap 5 is removable relative to the plate 6 so that it can be mounted on or removed from it as needed. The plate 6 then includes at least one hole 63, opening into the gutter 62 and configured to receive the head 52 of at least one end cap 5. The hole 63 is thus through-hole, that is, it extends from the first face 601 to the second face 602 of the plate 6, and is open to the gutter. 62 so as to allow the movement of the head 52 of at least one closing plug 5 from the hole 63 to the gutter 62 and vice versa. To this end, the hole 63 is shaped and dimensioned so that it has a dimension strictly greater than the head 52 of at least one closing plug 5, in particular a dimension strictly greater than the largest dimension of the stop element 52b of the head 52.

[0046] The sealing gasket 53 is positioned on the closure plug 5 so as to be interposed between the plug and the opening 31 of the housing 3, in particular the intermediate surface 302 delimiting the opening 31, when at least one closure plug 5 is placed in the opening 31. For example, the sealing gasket 53 is positioned on the body 51 of at least one closure plug 5. In particular, it is positioned continuously around the periphery of the body 51, here of at least one side 51a. Thus, when the closure device 4 is positioned on the housing 3, the sealing gasket 53 is pressed between at least one closure plug 5 and the housing 3. It thus prevents the entry of water or dust into the internal volume 300 of the housing 3. According to some embodiments, the sealing gasket 53 is a flat gasket or an O-ring.Alternatively or additionally, the sealing gasket 53 is optionally disposed on the body 51 so as to be positioned in support of the flat portion 32 and / or the external surface 301 of the housing 3 when the arrangement 1 is assembled.

[0047] At least one fastening means 7 is capable of holding the plate 6, and by extension at least one closing plug 5 connected to it, relative to the housing 3. at least one fastening means 7 is disposed in at least one opening 61 of the plate 6. Preferably, at least one fastening means 7 is disposed at a non-zero distance from at least one closing plug 5 when the closing device 4 is assembled. For example, the fastening means 7 is a rivet or a screw.

[0048] According to an exemplary embodiment, illustrated in [Fig. 6], at least one opening 61 is located along the path of the gutter 62, in particular at least partially contained within the gutter 62. In such an exemplary embodiment, the at least one opening 61 and the hole 63, configured to allow the insertion of at least one removable closure plug 5, are optionally coincident. The at least one opening 61 then has the dimensional characteristics described above with reference to the hole 63. Alternatively, as illustrated in [Fig. 7] or [Fig. 8], the at least one opening 61 is located outside the path of the gutter 62. In particular, the closure device 4 comprises a plurality of fastening means 7. The plate 6 then comprises as many openings 61 as the closure device 4 comprises fastening means 7.

[0049] In particular, at least one fastening means 7 or fastening means 7 are arranged so as to apply a homogeneous force on different points of the plate 6.

[0050] The housing 3 includes at least one receiving area 33 and at least one fastening means 7. For example, the housing 3 includes one or more recesses. In particular, said recesses are connected to at least one of the walls of the housing 3.

[0051] Figure 9 illustrates examples of alternative embodiments of the closure device 4, including at least one closure plug 5, which can be applied mutatis mutandis to the above description and can be implemented separately or in combination.

[0052] Optionally, the at least one closure plug 5 includes at least one shoulder 8, or even a plurality of shoulders 8, while the at least one opening 31 of the housing 3, for example the intermediate surface 302 defining the contour of said opening 31, includes at least one bearing edge 34 of the at least one shoulder 8. In particular, the opening 31 includes as many bearing edges 34 as the closure device 4 includes shoulders 8. Conventionally, a "shoulder" is understood to be a step-like structure serving as a bearing surface. In this case, the at least one shoulder 8 is configured to extend into contact with the at least one bearing edge 34 of the at least one opening 31 so as to limit the propagation of electromagnetic fields emitted within the internal volume 300 of the housing 3 to the environment outside the housing 3.

[0053] According to alternative embodiments, the at least one closure plug 5 comprises the at least one shoulder 8 in addition to, or instead of, the rim 54 as described above. The at least one shoulder 8 extends continuously, for example here so as to fit within a circular or substantially circular shape, and has a complementary shape profile to a profile of the bearing edge 34. Optionally but preferably, when F at least one closing plug 5 includes at least one shoulder 8, the sealing gasket 53 is disposed at the level of said shoulder 8.

[0054] When F at least one closure cap 5 includes F at least one shoulder In addition to the rim 54, said shoulder 8, or plurality of shoulders 8, is interposed between the rim 54 and at least one part of the body 51 of F, and at least one closing plug 5 along at least one direction. The rim 54 then bears against the external surface 301 of the housing 3, while at least one shoulder 8 bears against the intermediate surface 302 of at least one opening 31, so as to ensure the implementation of a plurality of electromagnetic field seals by metal-to-metal contact. The at least one shoulder 8 and the body 51 then extend into the opening 31 and / or into the internal volume 300 of the housing 3 while the rim 54 of the at least one closing plug 5 extends into the environment outside the housing 3 and is superimposed on one of its walls, in contact with the external surface 301.

[0055] Alternatively, where at least one closure plug 5 includes at least one shoulder 8 instead of the rim 54, or where the rim 54 and said shoulder 8 are coincident, F shoulder 8; or the plurality of shoulders 8, is in support of the intermediate surface 302 of at least one opening 31 and an external face 500 of at least one closure plug 5, configured to be turned towards the external environment and to bear the head 52, extends in continuity or substantially in continuity with the external surface 301 of the housing 3 so that at least one closure plug 5 is flush.

[0056] Optionally, the at least one closure plug 5 includes at least one elastically deformable element 9, such as a deformable tooth or blade, configured to allow the at least one closure plug 5 to be clipped into the housing 3. This design advantageously prevents the at least one closure plug 5 from falling unexpectedly when it is not yet secured by the plate 6, particularly during the assembly or disassembly of the closure device 4 on the housing 3. In this way, it is necessary to exert force on the at least one closure plug 5 in order to extract it from the at least one opening 31.

[0057] For example, in the case of a tooth 9a, as illustrated in [Fig. 9], said tooth 9a is disposed at a free end of the body 51 configured to extend into the internal volume 300. In particular, said tooth 9a is configured to extend into contact with an internal surface 303 of the housing 3, facing the internal volume 300, specifically into contact with an edge of at least one opening 31. For example, the at least one closure plug 5 comprises a plurality of teeth 9a arranged at regular intervals on the periphery of the body 51 or a single tooth 9a extending continuously along the periphery of the body 51. A similar principle applies with one or more deformable lamella(s).

[0058] As indicated above, the closure device 4 optionally comprises a plurality of closure plugs 5, each comprising at least a body 51, a head 52, and a sealing gasket 53. It should be noted that all or some of the various alternatives and options described above can then be applied to all or some of said plugs. Each of the closure plugs 5 is then configured to cooperate with its own specific opening 31 and with the closure plate 6. This principle advantageously allows a wide variety of shapes and sizes of closure plugs 5, and consequently of openings 31, to be combined with the same plate, which can have variable shapes as described above. Conversely, a plurality of closure plugs 5 of similar shapes can be combined with the same plate 5.The invention thus makes it possible to propose a large number of forms of closure devices, and by extension of access hatches inside a housing, and can thus be applied to a wide range of housing models 3. It is understood that the arrangement 1 according to the invention can also comprise a plurality of closure devices 4 according to the invention.

[0059] The invention also relates to a method for assembling an arrangement 1 according to the invention, comprising a housing 3 and a closure device 4 as described above. It is understood that the above description applies mutatis mutandis to the method according to the invention, and vice versa.

[0060] The method generally comprises positioning at least one end cap 5 in a suitable position relative to the plate 6 for insertion into at least one opening 31 in the housing 3. This positioning is achieved by sliding, for example, by a translational movement, the end cap 5 along the track formed by the groove 62, relative to the plate 6. When the closure device 4 comprises a plurality of end caps 5, this operation is repeated for each of said end caps. It should be noted that it is not then necessary to position the at least one end cap 5 precisely, as the position of said end cap can be adjusted subsequently during the positioning of the assembly formed by the plate 6 and the at least one end cap 5.

[0061] The method then includes positioning the assembly formed by the plate 6 and at least one closure plug 5 on the housing 3. The at least one closure plug 5 is then disposed in the at least one opening 31 and the at least one orifice 61 of the plate 6 is disposed opposite the receiving area 33 of the at least one fastening means 7.

[0062] The method finally includes securing the plate 6 relative to the housing 3 by means of at least one fastening means 7, such as to press at least one closure plug 5 against at least a portion of the housing 3. For example, the plate 6 is riveted and / or screwed relative to the housing 3. The tightening of at least one fastening means 7 ensures, in particular, that the rim 54 of at least one closure plug 5 is pressed against the external surface 301 of the housing 3, while the sealing gasket 53 is compressed between at least one closure plug 5, in particular the body 51, and the edge of the opening 31, in particular the intermediate surface 302. Alternatively or additionally, where at least one closure plug 5 includes at least one shoulder 8 and the housing 3 includes at least one bearing edge 34 as described above, the pressing of at least one closure plug 5 ensures contact between at least one shoulder 8 and the support edge 34.The sealing gasket 53 is then optionally compressed between them. Such a plating ensures a metal-to-metal contact, limiting the propagation of any electromagnetic fields emitted within the internal volume 300 to the external environment, while also providing adequate sealing to prevent the entry of fluid or dust into the internal volume 300.

[0063] Optionally, the method according to the invention includes, prior to positioning F at least one closure plug 5 relative to the plate 6, a step of bringing F at least one closure plug 5 and the plate 6 into cooperation.

[0064] According to a preferred example, when at least one closure plug 5 is removable and attached, such cooperation can be achieved by inserting the head 52 of at least one closure plug 5 into at least one hole 63 of the plate 6, and then moving said plug along the gutter 62 so that the head 52 extends opposite at least a part of the material of the plate 6, in order to be able to form a stop against it and thus keep at least one closure plug 5 attached to the plate 6.

[0065] Alternatively, when F at least one closure cap 5 is attached and the head 52 of F at least one closure cap 5 is attached and fixed to the body 51, such cooperation can be achieved by positioning the body 51 on one side of the plate 6 and positioning the head 52 so that it extends at least partially on a second side of the plate 6 and at least partially through the groove 62 of the plate 6. The plate 6 is then at least partially interposed between the body 51. The head 52 is then fixed to the body 51, for example by gluing, welding or screwing, and at least one closing plug 5 is then integral with the plate 6 and capable of being moved along the groove 62 by means of the head 52. Similar to what was indicated above, head 52 then extends opposite of at least part of the material of the plate 6 in order to be able to form a stop for it and thus maintain F at least one closing plug 5 attached to the plate 6.

[0066] The present invention thus proposes an arrangement comprising a housing, particularly suitable for containing power electronics components, and a closing device for said housing, particularly for forming an emergency access hatch. The invention advantageously reduces the number of screw-on fasteners while ensuring a uniform fit of a closing element, here at least a closing plug. Furthermore, the invention provides a closing device that can be adapted to a wide range of housings and access hatch openings to the internal volume of said housing.

[0067] The present invention is not limited to the means and methods described and illustrated herein, and also extends to any equivalent means or methods and to any technically operative combination of such means insofar as they ultimately fulfill the functionalities described and illustrated in this document.
