[0002] The present invention relates to a stop and release device for temporarily stopping and releasing transport trolleys on an overhead conveyor system, comprising a latch adjustable between a release position and a locking position, according to the preamble of claim 1. The invention further relates to a singulation device for the singular release of one or more transport trolleys on an overhead conveyor system, as well as an overhead conveyor system comprising a profile rail on which at least one such stop and release device and / or such a singulation device is arranged.
