[0001] The present invention relates to a portable electronic device comprising a housing having a front wall, a rear wall, a rounded edge connecting the front wall and the rear wall, and a screen extending over the front wall and over the rounded edge, the screen comprising a termination extending over the rear wall. [0002] A portable electronic device HW of the type mentioned above is described in international application WO 2024 / 056964. As shown in the cross-sectional view, the housing of the HW device comprises a first longitudinal wall 10 having a rounded outer edge, a second longitudinal wall 12, a front wall 15 forming the front face of the device, a rear wall 16 forming the rear face of the device, and a cover 17. The HW device also comprises a screen 20 which extends over the front wall 15, over the rounded edge 11 and over the rear wall 16. The rear wall 16 has a portion 16a parallel to the front wall 15 and a portion 16b inclined towards the interior of the housing.

[0003] The HW device offers the ergonomic advantage of being able to display information both on its front face 15 and on the rounded edge 11. However, its industrial-scale production can present challenges. Unlike some mobile phones that have a screen with a rounded edge at an angle of only a few degrees, the rounded edge 11 here has a 180° angle. A portable electronic device (HW1) comprising: - a housing (5) having a front wall (15), a rear wall (16, 16a, 16b), and a rounded edge (11) connecting the front wall (15) and the rear wall (16), and - a screen (20, 21, 22) extending over the front wall (15) and the rounded edge (11), the screen having a termination (20a, 20b) extending over the rear wall (16, 16a, 16b), characterized in that it comprises a retaining bar (30, 30') of generally longitudinal shape arranged parallel to the rounded edge (11) of the housing, the retaining bar comprising a proximal portion (31, 31') and a distal portion (32, 32'), the proximal portion (31, 31') being fixed to the housing, the distal portion (32, 32') being supported on the end (20b) of the screen in order to press it against the rear wall (16b) of the case. Device according to any one of claims 2 and 5, wherein the screen termination comprises a third part (20c) which is sandwiched between a support surface (15) present in the housing and the proximal part (31, 31') of the retaining bar. Device according to any one of claims 1 to 6, wherein the retaining bar (30, 30') is fixed to the housing by its ends (34, 34', 35, 35'). Device according to claim 7, wherein the retaining bar (30, 30') has, when detached from the housing, a concave shape, in order to ensure that a central part of the distal part (32, 32') of the retaining bar is in contact with the termination (20b) of the screen. A method for manufacturing a portable electronic device (HW1) comprising the steps of: - providing a housing (5) comprising a front wall (15), a rear wall (16, 16a, 16b), and a rounded edge (11) connecting the front wall (15) and the rear wall (16), and - arranging a screen (20, 21, 22) on the front wall (15) and on the rounded edge (11), and arranging a termination (20a, 20b) of the screen on the rear wall (16, 16a, 16b), a method characterized in that it also comprises the steps of: - providing a support bar (30, 30') of generally longitudinal shape comprising a proximal portion (31, 31'), a distal portion (32, 32') and an intermediate portion (33, 33') connecting the proximal portion (31, 31') and the distal portion (32, 32'),- arrange the retaining bar (30, 30') in the housing parallel to the rounded edge (11) of the housing, and arrange the distal part (32, 32') of the retaining bar on the termination (20b) of the screen,in order to attach it against the rear wall (16b) of the housing, and to fix the proximal part (31, 31') of the retaining bar in the housing. A method according to claim 11, comprising the steps of: - providing, on the rear wall (16, 16a, 16b) of the housing, a first part (16a) of the rear wall parallel to the front wall (15) and a second part (16b) of the rear wall inclined towards the inside of the housing, - arranging a first part (20a) of the screen termination on the first part (16a) of the rear wall, - arranging a second part (20b) of the screen termination on the second part (16b) of the rear wall, and - arranging the distal part (32, 32') of the retaining bar in support of at least one region of the second part (20b) of the screen termination. A method according to claim 12, comprising the steps of: - covering, with a protective sheet (23), parts of the screen extending over the front wall (15), the rounded edge (11), - covering the first part (20a) of the screen termination with a first part (23a) of a termination of the protective sheet, - arranging above the second part (20b) of the screen termination a second part (23b) of the termination of the protective sheet, the second part (23b) of the termination of the protective sheet (23) being parallel to the front wall (15) of the housing, and - arranging the distal part (32, 32') of the retaining bar extending into a volume (200) delimited by the second part (23b) of the termination of the protective sheet and the second part (20b) of the screen termination. Method according to claim 13, comprising a step of giving to the distal part (32') of the retaining bar (30') a beveled lower face (320) extending over the second part (20b) of the screen termination and coming into contact (CL) with it, and a flat upper face (322) serving as a support for the second part (23b) of the termination of the protective sheet (23). Method according to claim 14, comprising the step of giving the distal part (32, 32') of the retaining bar (30, 30') a tapered end shaped to occupy most of the volume (200) delimited by the second part (23b) of the termination of the protective sheet and the second part (20b) of the termination of the screen. Method according to any one of claims 12 and 15, comprising the step of arranging a third part (20c) of the screen between a support surface (15) provided in the housing and the proximal part (31, 31') of the retaining bar. Method according to any one of claims 11 to 16, wherein the retaining bar (30, 30') is fixed to the housing by its ends (34, 34', 35, 35'). Method according to claim 17, comprising a step of giving the retaining bar (30, 30'), before its assembly in the housing, a concave shape, in order to ensure that a central part of the distal part (32, 32') of the bar is in contact with the termination (20b) of the screen. Method according to any one of claims 11 to 18, comprising the steps of:- providing two fixing lugs (34, 34', 35, 35') at two ends of the support bar, and- providing in the housing two shoulders (130, 140) for receiving the fixing lugs of the support bar. Method according to any one of claims 11 to 19, comprising a step of assembling a display (21) and a touch module (22) together forming the screen (20).
