AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing methods for calculating the arcing temperature of power batteries are not accurate enough and are complex, making it difficult to effectively prevent safety damage caused by arcing.

Method used

By setting up a test circuit in the power battery, an electric arc is formed using a conductive component capable of forming an electric arc. The spectral lines radiated by the electric arc are analyzed, and the arcing temperature is determined by combining the local thermodynamic equilibrium conditions.

Benefits of technology

It improves the detection capability and accuracy of arcing temperature, simplifies the calculation process, and can better prevent safety accidents caused by arcing of power batteries.

Abstract

A method and apparatus for determining an arcing temperature. The method comprises: providing a first conductive portion and a second conductive portion with reference to a material that is capable of forming an arc in a power battery, during testing, connecting the first conductive portion and the second conductive portion to a circuit to form a test loop (S110), then separating the first conductive portion from the second conductive portion to form an arc (S120), and then analyzing spectral lines radiated by the arc to determine the arcing temperature (S130). By analyzing the spectral lines of spectra, a local thermodynamic equilibrium condition, for example, can be used to analyze the intensity of the spectral lines, to obtain the arcing temperature, so that the detection capability is higher, and detection is simpler and more accurate.
