Description

[0001] Fastening hooks or fastening system for attaching bags or containers

[0002] Description:

[0003] The present invention relates to a fastening hook or fastening system for attaching bags or containers to a receiving device, in particular to a carrier such as a luggage carrier with luggage carrier tubes of two- or three-wheeled vehicles, by means of fastening hooks which can be attached to a holding device, such as a rail, arranged on the bag or container.

[0004] Mounting hooks with spring-loaded latches are commonly used to prevent a bag from detaching from a bicycle rack. Most bags have two mounting hooks, with the latches of these hooks connected by a flexible handle. This handle allows the bag to be released from the rack when lifted, and conversely, releasing the handle locks the bag securely to the rack. To ensure a secure and rattle-free fit for different rack tube diameters, various adapter inserts are usually included. These inserts must be changed by the user when attaching a bag to a rack with a different diameter, which can be inconvenient, and the inserts can also be lost.

[0005] For modern luggage carriers, an adjustment range of 10 to 16 mm to fit luggage carrier tubes has proven practical. Simple hooks with a hook body and a hook attachment with molded locking lugs, lacking a pivoting latch, have been known for some time.

[0006] There is a risk that bags attached in this way may not stay securely on the luggage rack on uneven or rough roads.

[0007] Furthermore, they are not laterally adjustable, allowing the bag to be attached to various racks in different positions. At the same time, it is important that bicycle bag mounting hooks are as small as possible, both to have an attractive appearance and to offer high load-bearing capacity and durability due to the small levers between the hook's functional parts.

[0008] Ideally, a fastening hook or fastening system with the aforementioned fastening hooks would be desirable, which is stable and optimized for handling, fulfills all the aforementioned tasks, and can be individually attached to luggage carriers with different diameter tubes, preferably without tools.

[0009] The aim and purpose of the invention is therefore to create a fastening hook with a spring-loaded latch and a handle that prevents rattling of the hook on the luggage carrier, both vertically and laterally, for different tube diameters, without the need for additional adapters. This is achieved while maintaining lateral adjustability of the hook on the bag or mounting rail, and ensuring the bag is securely locked in place when the handle is released or when the bag is pressed against the luggage carrier.

[0010] The hook is designed to be as small as possible and therefore exhibits high fatigue strength. In a preferred embodiment, adjustment is envisioned that requires no tools at all.

[0011] Another positive feature of an inventive bicycle pannier hook is that the contact points on the luggage carrier are made of a soft, elastic, and abrasion-resistant material to prevent scratching of the carrier. Ideally, all or almost all of the functions described above are combined in a single bicycle pannier hook, which presents a significant challenge with regard to the choice of dimensions and the design of individual elements.

[0012] This problem is solved by the features of the characterizing part of claim 1. Further developments and advantageous embodiments of the invention are included in the further claims.

[0013] According to the invention, a fastening hook or fastening system for attaching bags or containers to a receiving device, in particular to a carrier such as a luggage carrier with luggage carrier tubes of two- or three-wheeled vehicles, is provided by means of fastening hooks which can be attached to a holding device, such as a rail, arranged on the bag or container, wherein the fastening hook has a hook base body, a hook attachment part and a spring-operated latch with a handle, and that several positioning points between the hook base body and the hook attachment part are located essentially on an inclined plane with respect to the road surface and transversely with respect to the luggage carrier's mounting tube, and that by appropriately selecting the positioning point, the fastening hook can be engaged with minimal play between the spring-operated latch, the hook base body and the hook attachment part on the luggage carrier tube with its different dimensions.

[0014] In a preferred embodiment, the mounting hooks are arranged with their hook bases slidably and lockably in a rail, thus allowing their position to be adjusted as needed. A mounting hook part can be screwed onto the hook base, creating an insertion area between the hook base and the mounting hook part for attachment to a luggage carrier tube. A latch, which is pivotally or rotatably mounted in the hook base or mounting hook part, closes the opening between the hook base and the mounting hook when the bag is attached to the luggage carrier tube with its mounting hooks. The latch itself is spring-loaded, automatically locking the mounting hook to the luggage carrier tube. This connection or lock can be released by means of a handle against the spring force. The handle itself is connected to the latch by means of a screw connection or is directly molded onto it and unlocks the connection of the fastening hook on the luggage carrier tube when the release is activated, which preferably occurs directly when lifting the bag at the handle.

[0015] In a preferred embodiment, the screw connection and adjustment of the hook attachment part to the hook base is achieved on an angled surface of the hook base. The corresponding surfaces of the hook base and the hook attachment part are preferably equipped with a corresponding detent mechanism which, firstly, improves the connection during screwing and, secondly, allows for very precise adjustment of the diameter of the luggage carrier tube to which the hook is to be attached when the screw connection is loosened.

[0016] When adjusting the hook to the desired or required diameter of the luggage carrier tube, the screw connection is first loosened, and the two corresponding sections of the hook base are aligned with the mounting hook part. It is then secured by tightening the screw connection or, alternatively, by clamping it using an extender or similar device, preferably without tools. In the preferred embodiment, the screw connection is equipped with captive elements, meaning that while the screw connection can be loosened, the screw cannot be completely removed from its guide and is thus secured against removal.

[0017] After the fastening hooks are engaged and the handle is released, the rotary latch moves between the opening between the hook base and the hook attachment, securing the bag against unintentional removal or falling off during travel. The rotary latch is either rotatably mounted on an axis or runs as a profile element along a defined track formed by at least three points. For added stability, the rotary latch has a stop against the hook attachment. In another preferred embodiment, a mounting plate, preferably located on the hook base, connects the latch to the spring and the handle by means of a screw or alternative fastening. The M-shaped spring can be inserted into or fixed in the mounting plate.

[0018] The aforementioned preferred embodiments and the movable, corresponding contact areas of the hook base with the mounting hook part allow a wide range of luggage carrier tube diameters to be accommodated and their secure attachment to one another to be ensured. A preferred range of luggage carrier tube diameters lies between 9 and 12 millimeters, and this is indicated by markings in one embodiment of the mounting hook.

[0019] The invention is described in more detail below with reference to drawings, which show:

[0020] Fig. 1 - Fig. 3

[0021] A fastening hook or fastening system 1 in different perspectives with screw fastening from the side of the hook base body 2.

[0029] Fig. 9 - Fig. 16

[0030] A fastening hook or fastening system 1 in different perspectives with screw fastening from the side of the hook base body 2.

[0031] Figures 1 to 3 show a fastening hook 1 which has a hook base 2 in which the size of the open area between the hook base and the fastening hook 3 can be adjusted by means of a screw connection. A latch 3 is rotatably arranged in the hook base 2 and locks the area between the hook base and the fastening hook 3 by means of a spring force 5. This lock can be released by means of a handle 6 when the bag is removed from the luggage carrier tube. In a preferred embodiment, the fastening hooks 1 are arranged on a rail 7 attached to a bag or container.

[0032] The embodiments according to Fig. 9 to Fig. 16 achieve a large range of possible diameters of the luggage carrier tubes on which the fastening hook can be used, through the area of the correspondence surfaces between the hook base body 2 and the hook attachment part 3 and the resulting possible opening area between the two hook part elements.

[0033] Having described preferred embodiments of the invention with reference to the accompanying drawings, it should be noted that the invention is not limited to these specific embodiments and that various changes and modifications to it can be carried out by a person skilled in the art without deviating from the scope of the invention as defined in the accompanying claims.
