[0003] The present invention relates to a tooth separation apparatus used in dental treatment for temporarily separating two teeth from each other without the formation of a permanent gap between the teeth.

[0005] A dental filling is a dental treatment used to repair decayed areas or fractures in teeth and restore tooth function. During this procedure, the dentist removes the damaged tooth tissue and fills the cavity with filling material. In addition to restoring tooth function, the filling helps to prevent decay and improve the aesthetic appearance of the tooth. Matrix strip is used in the filling of interfacial caries in the process of tooth filling in order to prevent the filling material from being made more or less than the contour of the tooth during the condensation process, to prevent damage to the surrounding soft tissues and to avoid going beyond the appropriate anatomical form. Matrices consist of matrix strip and holder. The round-shaped ready-made matrix strip is placed between the teeth and the matrix compression tool ensures that it wraps around the tooth. Although the matrix strip is not intended to separate the teeth from each other, it causes separation at the micro level. The purpose of applying matrix strips is to ensure that the interface filling is made in accordance with the tooth anatomy rather than separating the teeth from each other.

Said shaft (2) has a cylindrical structure and comprises a screw pitch on its upper surface. The said movement head (3) has a slot therein which also comprises a screw pitch and it fits onto the shaft (2) on this slot. By rotating the moving head, the moving head can move linearly on the shaft (2) in line with the match of the shaft (2) screw pitch and the housing screw pitch. There are movement arms extending from both sides of the moving head and can move forward and backward with the movement of the moving head (3). At the end of the mentioned movement arms, there is a reciprocal jaw (5) structure that will wrap around the tooth and the jaw (5) ends extend towards each other. There is a connecting arm (6) for moving the said transfer arms (4) forward and backward in such a way that the jaws (5) move towards or away from each other. The said connecting arm (6) is rotatably connected both to the shaft (2) and to the transmission arm (4). In this way, the movement of the transmission arm (4) can move the jaws (5) in a way that brings them closer to each other or moves them further away. There is a fixed conical part (7) at the ends of the mentioned jaws (5). The cross-sectional area of the mentioned conical part (7) has a structure that decreases as it moves away from the tip of the jaw (5) and the dimensions of the conical part (7) have the dimensions to be able to pass between the teeth and open the teeth by applying force.

To summarize the technique briefly for clarity: it allows the construction of a new interface that remains in the metric dimensions of the tooth with the matrix strips used in interface fillings. In addition, depending on the anatomy of the matrix strip used, there may be a gap between the two teeth after filling, which may vary depending on the thickness of the matrix strip, and it is not always possible to provide a single point contact (T), which is anatomically and physiologically important at the interface. When we make our filling by placing our matrix strip in contact with the neighbouring tooth, the interface of the tooth is shaped in the same anatomical form as the tooth but larger. After placing the filling, when we remove the interdental tooth separation apparatus (1), the neighbouring tooth returns towards the filled tooth with the desire of the periodontal ligaments to return, and this return continues until it contacts the newly made filling. If the anatomical form of the filling is complete, the most natural anatomical, physiological, biological relationship between the two teeth after filling is obtained by contacting at a single point (T) in the approximal middle third and unwanted excessive gaps between the two teeth are prevented. In previous techniques such as wedge (K), matrix strip use, etc., the excess gaps between the two teeth after filling can create a great handicap and cause many negative consequences. These problems are; accumulation of food between two teeth, food impaction between two teeth, caries formation in the neighbouring tooth, secondary caries formation in the filled tooth, unilateral chewing of the patient and related problems: TMJ problems, GIS problems, periodontal problems due to overuse in the overused area, periodontal problems due to underuse in the underused area, tartar formation in the teeth of the underused area, abrasions in the teeth of the overused area, and so on. With the tooth separation device (1) of the present invention; in dentistry, in filling between two teeth (approximal (A)), it is possible to ensure that there is no gap between the two teeth, to ensure point contact between the two teeth, to ensure that the occlusal and gingival embryos of the filled tooth, the distance between the two teeth and / or the elevation relationship between the two teeth can be made at an optimal level within physiological and biological limits.
