Abstract
Description
[0001] AUTONOMOUS PARKING SYSTEM WITH MECANUM WHEELED PLATFORM
[0002] Field of the Invention
[0003] The invention relates to autonomous parking systems.
[0004] In particular, the invention relates to a parking system which enables vehicles to be parked by placing them on a platform and transporting them safely and at a reasonable speed to the desired location by means of the mecanum wheels contained therein.
[0005] State of the Art
[0006] Nowadays, there are many systems for parking vehicles. Some of these are underground systems with lifts, while others are above ground systems that provide multi-storey car parking. The increasing number of vehicles in daily life creates the problem of vehicle parking, which makes it necessary to build the mentioned parking systems and the like.
[0007] In the state of the art, in car parking systems, vehicles can be parked by a driver taking the vehicles onto the platform and then moving the platform. In some parking systems, for example in the case of tracked parking systems, the vehicle is lifted onto the platform and then moved by means of the drive train (conveyors, tracks and chains). The main purpose here is to deliver the vehicle safely to the parking area.
[0008] In the tracked parking system mentioned in the known state of the art, the power required for movement is taken from the motor unit. The motor transfers the motion it produces to shafts, gear wheels, conveyors and toothed chains. The disadvantages of the state of the art are low speed, maintenance difficulties arising from the use of too many components, and high cost. However, the most important technical disadvantage is the use of complex mechanisms in the transition between axes (from x-axis to y-axis).
[0009] As a result of the researches made on the subject, document No CN108149989A is encountered. The relevant document relates to a versatile mobile motor vehicle transport platform with mecanum wheels. The present technique is a versatile motor vehicle transport platform, but does not include a support wheel that supports the forces acting on the upper platform and transmits the movement along the x and y axis, preventing the use of excess mechanisms in the system. As a result of the research made on the subject, another document No CN208396400U is encountered. The relevant document describes parking, in particular a three- dimensional garage with a versatile transport trolley. The present technique wherein A parking system equipped with mecanum wheels is mentioned, is a versatile motor vehicle transport platform, but does not include a support wheel that supports the forces acting on the upper platform and transmits the movement along the x and y axis, preventing the use of excess mechanisms in the system.
[0010] As a result due to the abovementioned disadvantages and the insufficiency of the current solutions regarding the subject matter, a development is required to be made in the relevant technical field.
[0011] Object of the Invention
[0012] The present invention aims to solve the abovementioned disadvantages by being inspired from the current conditions.
[0013] The main object of the present invention is to reveal a parking system which enables vehicles to be parked by placing them on a platform and transporting them safely and at a reasonable speed to the desired location by means of the mecanum wheels contained therein.
[0014] Another object of the present invention is to ensure that the forces acting on the platform are supported thanks to the support wheels.
[0015] Another object of the present invention is to ensure that the main platform moves in the desired direction with the independent and simultaneous movements of the support wheels in x and y directions.
[0016] Another object of the present invention is to create a lower cost, easier to install, and less total mechanism thickness option to the currently used conveyor-based systems that can move in x and y directions.
[0017] In order to fulfil the abovementioned aims, the invention is an autonomous parking system, which ensures that vehicles are parked safely at the desired location at a reasonable speed, comprising,
[0018] At least one lower platform to which all parts of the system are connected, An upper platform that is placed on the upper part of the lower platform and allows the vehicle to be lifted onto the lower platform,
[0019] • Mecanum wheels located inside the lower platform and enabling the upper platform to move on the lower platform from one axis to the other axis, namely from x-axis to y-axis, and
[0020] • At least one servo motor that provides the necessary drive to the mecanum wheels on the lower platform characterized by comprising the following;
[0021] • The support wheel, which includes the main wheel rotating on the vertical axis and the rollers rotating around the main wheel, providing motion transmission in the direction perpendicular to the current direction of movement, supporting the forces acting on the upper platform, reducing the load on the mecanum wheel, rotating in the same way as the movement of the upper platform without any drive and moving in the x and y axis directions mentioned.
[0022] The structural and characteristic features of the present invention will be understood clearly by the following drawings and the detailed description made with reference to these drawings and therefore the evaluation shall be made by taking these figures and the detailed description into consideration.

[0036] Detailed Description of the Invention
[0037] In this detailed description, the preferred embodiments of the inventive autonomous parking system are described by means of examples only for clarifying the subject matter.
[0038] The autonomous parking system of the invention, which allows vehicles to be parked safely at a reasonable speed at the desired location, basically comprises a lower platform (1), an upper platform (2), mecanum wheels (3), servo motors (4) and support wheels (5).
[0039] The aforementioned lower platform (1), located on the single platform of the autonomous system shown in Figure 1 , ensures the connection of all parts of the system to it. The aforementioned upper platform (2) is placed on the upper part of the lower platform (1) and enables the vehicle to be taken onto the lower platform (1). Here, the lower platform and the upper platform become a closed whole structure, that is, the main platform. As can be seen in Figure 3, there are mecanum wheels (3) which is located inside the lower platform (1) and consists of the upper platform (2), which allows the structure to move on the lower platform from one axis to the other axis, that is, from the x-axis to the y-axis. Each of these wheels is similar to traditional wheels, but with 45° angle circular rollers built into the surface of each wheel. These rollers allow the wheel to rotate freely. The four mecanum wheels on each lower platform are placed at a certain angle. While the crossed mecanum wheel pairs are facing one direction (e.g. +x), the other crossed pair are facing the opposite direction (e.g. -x). The system according to the invention comprises at least one servo motor (4) which provides the necessary drive to the mecanum wheels (3) located on the lower platform (1). Servo motor (4) is connected to each mecanum wheel (3) and the motors can be controlled independently. Thus, the speed and direction of each wheel can be adjusted independently.
[0040] The inventive system also comprises support wheel (5), which includes the main wheel rotating on the vertical axis and the rollers rotating around the main wheel, providing motion transmission in the direction perpendicular to the current direction of movement, supporting the forces acting on the upper platform (2), reducing the load on the mecanum wheel (3), rotating in the same way as the movement of the upper platform (2) without any drive and moving in the x and y axis directions mentioned. Said support wheel (5) is used as a support element in addition to the main platform carrier of the system (3), which is capable of multi-directional movement, allowing and facilitating multi-directional movement, while at the same time reducing the loads on the mecanum wheel with an appropriate sharing.
[0041] With the support wheels, which are the most important distinguishing feature of the inventive system, movements in x and y directions can be performed independently and simultaneously. This allows the platform to move in the desired direction. The vast majority of systems with similar purposes change their driving direction by steering one or more of their wheels, or by using wheels that allow movement in only one direction. Therefore, the disadvantage of a wheel that facilitates direct lateral movement is eliminated by the support wheel.
[0042] If we briefly talk about the working principle of the system subject to the invention; 4 mecanum wheels located in the lower platform are driven by a motor. As can be seen in Figure 7, direction and movement are given to the upper platform (2) by rotating the mecanum wheels (3) in different directions. In contrast to current techniques, in the system of the invention, the entire platform does not move and the upper platform (2) moves on the lower platform (1). The support wheels (5) are capable of travelling in both directions in order to respond quickly to these changes in direction, and said support wheels are preferably omni wheels in one embodiment of the invention.
