[0002] Patent Document 1 discloses a vehicle in which the driver can grasp the direction of the wheels. When the wheels are automatically steered and the steering wheel is fixed, a display unit displays the direction of the wheels that are automatically steered.

[0009] (First embodiment) A steering wheel 1 mounted on a vehicle will be described with reference to Fig. 1 . The steering wheel 1 is provided in the driver's seat of the vehicle and is arranged to face the seat on which the driver sits. The steering wheel 1 is configured to be rotatable about a rotation axis 1a. The steering wheel 1 is an operator for steering the vehicle and is held by the driver. The steering operation by the driver is received by the steering wheel 1.
[0010] The steering wheel 1 includes a wheel body 2, a boss portion 3, and a steering display 20.

The steering display 20 has an annular shape and is arranged concentrically around the rotation axis 1a. The steering display 20 is arranged in a range inside the steering wheel 1 and outside the boss portion 3. The controller 50 can identify the steering angle of the steering wheel 1 by multiplying the steering angle of the wheel W by a predetermined coefficient (the reciprocal of the steering gear ratio) by the steering control. Because the steering angle of the steering wheel 1 is proportional to the steering angle of the wheel W, the driver can grasp the steering angle of the wheel W through the steering angle of the steering wheel 1.
[0041] In this embodiment, the steering information Ij is configured as an arc-shaped gauge displayed on the inside of the wheel body 2 in an arc shape that follows the circular shape of the wheel body 2. Claims
1. A display method for displaying information on a display visible to a vehicle driver, wherein, when the driving mode of the vehicle is an automated driving mode that does not require steering operation by the driver, information corresponding to the steering angle of the wheels is displayed on the display, and when the driving mode of the vehicle is not the automated driving mode, the information corresponding to the steering angle of the wheels is not displayed on the display.
2. The display method according to claim 1, wherein the display is provided on an operator that accepts steering operations by the driver.

The display method according to claim 2, wherein the vehicle is equipped with a steer-by-wire steering device in which a steering mechanism including the operator and a steering mechanism that steers the wheels are mechanically separated, and when the driving mode of the vehicle is the autonomous driving mode, the steering device prevents the operator from rotating.

The display method according to claim 2, wherein the vehicle is equipped with a steer-by-wire steering device in which a steering mechanism including the operator and a steering mechanism for steering the wheels are mechanically separated, and when the driving mode of the vehicle is the autonomous driving mode, the steering device rotates the operator in accordance with the steering angle of the wheels, and the information displayed on the display is displayed so as not to rotate in accordance with the rotation of the operator.
5. A display method as claimed in any one of claims 2 to 4, wherein the vehicle further comprises a second display visible to the driver in addition to the first display provided on the operator, and when the driving mode of the vehicle is the autonomous driving mode, information that would be displayed on the first display when the driving mode of the vehicle is not the autonomous driving mode is displayed on the second display.

The display method according to claim 4, wherein, when the rotation speed of the operator is equal to or less than a threshold value, operation information that can be touched by the driver is displayed on the display, and when the rotation speed of the operator is greater than the threshold value, the operation information is not displayed on the display.
8. A display method according to any one of claims 2 to 7, wherein displaying information according to the steering angle of the wheels includes displaying information according to the rotation angle of the operator required for the steering angle.
9. A display system comprising: a display visible to a vehicle driver; and a controller that controls information displayed on the display, wherein the controller displays information corresponding to the steering angle of the wheels on the display when the driving mode of the vehicle is an autonomous driving mode that does not require steering operation by the driver; and does not display information corresponding to the steering angle of the wheels on the display when the driving mode of the vehicle is not the autonomous driving mode.
