[0002] The subject of the present invention is a waste container with a container closing mechanism designed, in particular, for families with an infant, which is intended primarily for used disposable diapers, but also other hygienic waste. In addition, the subject of the invention is the method of operation of a waste container with a container closing mechanism.
[0003] Many solutions of diaper containers are known from the state of the art, for example from the international patent description WO2006126879A2 entitled "Device for placing and containing soiled objects therein" with the priority date of 23.05.2005. NL 1029093 a device is known for placing and storing objects in it, in particular soiled objects such as soiled diapers, consisting of from the container and lid. Wherein said cover comprises a hollow tubular member which is open at least at one end in which a body capable to the reciprocating movement is located. Said cover is rotatable relative to the container between a first position in which the object can be placed in the tubular element from the outside, and a second position in which the body can move downwards in the tubular element due to force of gravity to push the object into the container. A special feature is that the device consists of a sleeve made of a flexible material disposed within a tubular member, the sleeve being closed near its first end, the body being connected to the sleeve near the closed end of the sleeve, and the sleeve being attached to the tubular member along its circumferential edge near its second end.

[0025] The advantage of the present solution is the use of the mechanism for closing the waste container, the catches of which increase the functionality of the container with a minimum number of components in the waste container. The lower ends of the catches in their external / extended position allow permanent connection of the cover to the rotating drum contained therein, through a cap, with the tank while using the waste container, i.e. at the time when waste including diapers, is placed in it. However, when the ends of the catches are pushed inwards, thanks to the use of heads on the side surfaces of the rotatable drum acting at specific positions of the drum on the upper part of the catches, the tank is detached from the cover, while simultaneously locking the cap with the cover. One can easily lift the connected cover with the cap while lifting the bag filled with waste. The end of the bag does not leak, as its inlet opening is constantly sealed by its interlocking between the circumferential ring of the cap and the outer surface of the drum. This solution means that the filled bag can be twisted under the cap and only then can the end of the bag be slid out, thus optimizing the escape of unwanted odours.
[0026] An additional advantage of the developed waste container is also the ability to easily keep the container clean due to an additional insert placed in the drum chamber, which can be easily removed and washed. It is also preferable to use a material with bactericidal properties for the insert, e.g. a mixture of plastic with silver. Therefore, the developed solution allows to maintain hygiene and prevents the growth of bacteria, which is extremely important, especially since the commonly developed waste container is used in living quarters where infants are also present.

[0041] Example 1. Waste container with container closing mechanism
[0042] The subject of the invention is a waste container with a container closing mechanism intended, in particular, for used diapers or other hygienic waste. The container consists of a tank 1 preferably of a square cross-section with rounded corners. The tank 1 is a solid that has a base, side walls, but there is no upper plane. The tank 1 has a cap 2 instead of its upper plane, and via the cap 2 it engages with the cover 3. The cap 2 is applied on the tank 1, preferably having a concave peripheral lower lip 4 sliding into the interior of the tank 1. The outer contour of the cap 2 and the lower surface of the cover 3 corresponds to the outer contour of the upper surface of the tank 1. On the other hand, the cover 3 is connected to the tank 1 and the cap 2 in a detachable manner by means of catches 5 rotatably connected to the cover 3. The ends of the catches 5 pass through the suitably shaped cap 2, are compressed by the internal components of the tank 1, after which they expand and lock in the tank 1 (as described in more detail below).
[0043] A rotatable drum 6 is located inside the cover 3. A generally cylindrical chamber 7 is located in the solid of the drum 6. The chamber 7 has a circular inlet / outlet opening 8 on one side. Waste is temporarily placed in the chamber 7. [0047] The head 18 is located on the lateral surface of the drum 6, preferably on both sides of the flattening 13, if the flattening 13 is made near the axis of rotation of the drum 6. The head 18 has a variable thickness, i.e. it is gradually thickened. The head 18 cooperates with the lever 19 constituting the upper end of the catch 5 of the cover 3 located above the hooks 20 of the catch 5. The hooks 20 (constituting a kind of pins protruding from the catch 5) connect to the splines 21 located on the inside of the cover 3, allowing the catch 5 to rotate. In addition, between the surface of the lever 19 and the inner surface of the cover 3, above the splines 21, a spring 22 is located to repel the lever 19 from the inner surface of the cover 3 wall, causing the lower part of the catch 5 to be automatically set in an external position allowing the container to be assembled for use (allowing waste to be disposed into the container). The lower portion of the catch 5 comprises a lateral overrun surface 23 and a substantially horizontal catching surface 24. After placing the cap 2 on the tank 1, a bag 25 is inserted into the tank 1 through the inlet opening 11 by winding the upper inlet end of the bag 25 on the circumferential ring 10 and the upper outer surface of the bag 25 abuts the inner surface of the circumferential ring 10. The cover 3 is applied to the cap 2. At the stage of applying the cover 3, the ends of the catch 5 pass through the through cut-outs 26 of the cap 2 and then the overrun surfaces 23 (23a and 23b) of each catch 5, due to the elasticity of the end of the catch 5, compress each other, i.e. approach each other due to the pressure of the lateral surface 27 of the catching head 28 located on the upper inner surface of the tank 1 wall. When the catching surface 24 of the catch 5 is below the lower surface of the catching head 28, the lower part of the catch 5 is expanded and the overrun surfaces 23 (23a and 23b) move away from each other, and the catching surface 24 begins to adhere to the lower surface of the catching head 28. The waste container is assembled, i.e. the tank 1, the cap 2 and the cover 3 are joined together. The waste container is ready to be filled with waste (diapers). In the assembled waste container, the external surface 29 of the drum 6, irrespective of the position of the inlet / outlet opening 8 of the drum 6 chamber 7, presses the upper wall of the bag 25, at the inlet opening of the bag 25, to the inner surface of the circumferential ring 10 of the cap 2.

The end of the catch 5 is moved to the inside of the tank 1, and thus the catch 5 is released from the catching head 28 of the tank 1 and it is possible to lift the cover 3 together with the cap 2 with the filled bag 25 pressed between the outer surface 29 of the drum 6 and the inner surface of the circumferential ring 10 of the cap 2. Odours do not come out from the bag. The catching head 28a of the cap 2 has a recess 30 in which there is a catching surface 24 of the catch 5 when the catch 5 is moved towards the inside of the container, i.e. it is located in an internal position, which ensures, regardless of the position of the handle 16, that the cap 2 does not detach from the cover 3 with the drum 6 when the whole assembly, including the filled bag 25, is lifted upwards. Under the cap 2, the user twists the bag 25 by closing its outlet and by pulling out the end of the bag 25 from between the outer surface 29 of the drum 6 and the inner surface of the circumferential ring 10 of the cap 2. After removing the bag 25, the user manually slides the lower part of the catches 5 outwards (to the external setting of the catches 5) by extending the catching surface 24 from the recess 30, which is assisted by the expanding spring 22. The waste container is ready to be reassembled with an empty bag 25.

[0054] A waste container with a container closing mechanism (in particular for used diapers, but also for other hygienic waste) according to example 1, wherein the lateral surface of the drum 6 has two heads 18, preferably on both sides, the thickness of which increases in the direction opposite to rotation. [0056] A waste container with a container closing mechanism (in particular for used diapers, but also for other hygienic waste) according to example 1 or 2, in which a removable insert 31, preferably roll-shaped without a top surface, is arranged in a chamber 7 of the rotating drum 6. The shape of the insert 31 corresponds to the shape of the chamber 7 of the rotatable drum 6. Removing the insert 31 from the chamber 7 allows it to be effortlessly washed, which makes it easier to keep the interior of the chamber 7 clean. The catching lock 32a of the insert 31 together with the catching lock 32b of the chamber 7 protect the insert 31 against unwanted removal of the insert 31 from the chamber ? of the drum 6 during use of the container.

[0060] Method of operation of the waste container with the container closing mechanism according to example 1 or 2 or 3 or 4, wherein the successive steps include: a) assembly of the waste container by applying a cap 2 to the top of the tank 1 (as shown in fig. 1 - operation a); b) a bag 25 is inserted into the tank 1 through the inlet opening 11 by winding the inlet end of the bag 25 on the circumferential ring 10, such that the upper outer surface of the bag 25 abuts the inner surface of the circumferential ring 10 (as shown in fig. 1 - operation b and fig. 2); c) through the cap, the cover 3 is attached to the tank 1 by means of catches 5 (as shown in fig. 1 and fig.2 - operation c), wherein each outwardly extending end of the catch 5 slides into the corresponding through cut-out 26 in the cap 2 and in the final stage of applying the cover 3, the overrun surfaces 23 (23a and 23B) of each catch 5, due to the elasticity of the end of the catch 5, compress each other, i.e. come closer to each other, i.e. the lower part of the catch (5) with the lateral overrun surface (23a) approaches the lower part of the catch (5) with the lateral overrun surface (23b) due to the pressure on the overrun surface (23) due to the pressure of the lateral surface 27 of the catching head 28 located on the upper inner surface of the tank 1 wall, then, when the catching surface 24 of the catch 5 is below the lower surface of the catching head 28, the lower part of the catch 5 is expanded and the overrun surfaces 23 (23a and 23b) move away from each other, and the catching surface 24 begins to adhere to the lower surface of the catching head 28, the catches 5 in the tank 1 are blocked, and thus the tank 1 is connected to the cover 3 through the cap 2; d) in the assembled waste container (as shown in fig. 3, fig. 3a, fig. 3b - use of the container) the external surface 29 of the drum 6, irrespective of the position of the inlet / outlet opening 8 of the drum 6 chamber 7, presses the upper wall of the bag 25, at the inlet opening of the bag 25, to the inner surface of the circumferential ring 10 of the cap 2; e) as a result of using the assembled waste container, the bag 25 is filled with waste (as shown in fig. 3a, fig. 3b - use of the container); f) the handle 16 together with the drum 6 is rotated to the extreme lower position, i.e. to the downward resistance (as shown in fig. 3, fig. 3c, fig. 3d - disengagement) and then the head 18 (of variable, increasing thickness) of the drum 6 gradually, increasingly presses on the lever 19 located in the upper part of the catch 5 and as a result of rotation of the catch 5, which is enabled by its hooks 20, the lower part of the catch 5 moves to the internal position (moves to the centre of the tank 1, when previously the outer lower surface of the catch 5 was at the inner wall of the tank 1). The lower part of the catch 5 is displaced and the catching surface 24 of the catch 5 moves to the interior of the tank 1 from the lower surface of the catching head 28 of the tank 1 to the lower surface of the catching head 28a of the cap 2 located in the cut-out 26 of the cap 2 and the catch 5 is released from the catching head 28 of the tank 1. The catching surface 24 of the catch 5 placed in the recess 30 of the lower surface of the catching head 28a of the cap 2 prevents accidental disconnection of the cover 3 from the cap 2 regardless of the handle 16 position (as shown in fig. 4 - operation a); g) the cover 3 connected to the cap 2 and the filled bag 25 pressed in the upper part of the bag 25 at its opening is lifted, with the external surface 29 of the drum 6 to the inner surface of the circumferential ring 10 of the cap 2 (as shown in fig. 4 - operation b); h) under the cap 2, the bag 25 is twisted by closing the opening of the bag 25 (as shown in fig. 4 - operation c) and by pulling out from the inlet opening 11 of the cap 2 the end of the bag 25 from between the outer surface 29 of the drum 6 and the inner surface of the circumferential ring 10 of the cap 2 (as shown in fig. 5 - operation d); i) the lower part of the catches 5 is extended outwards (to the external position) by extending the catching surface 24 of the catches 5 from the recess 30 of the catching head 28a of the cap 2 beyond the catching heads 28a of the cap 2, wherein the extension is assisted by the expanding spring 22 (as shown in fig. 5 - operation e); j) the cap 2 is freely detached from the cover 3.

Claims
AMENDED CLAIMS received by the International Bureau on March 20, 2026 (20.03.2026) CLAIMS1. A waste container with a container closing mechanism, wherein the container for waste is composed of a tank (1), a cap (2) constituting a detachable part of the tank (1) and a removable cover (3) with a rotating drum (6) located therein containing a waste chamber (7) and a handle (16) connected to the drum (6) enabling the drum (6) to rotate inside the cover (3) and the drum (6) has a chamber (7) with an inlet / outlet opening (8) characterized in that the lateral surface of the drum (6), at the axis of rotation of the drum (6), has a head (18) of variable thickness and the cover (3) has a catch (5) attached to its lower, internal surface, the catch (5) has a lever (19) in its upper part and under the lever (19) there are hooks (20) rotatably connected with the inner splines (21) located on the inside of the cover (3), further the catch(5) has an overrun surface (23) in its lower part and a catching surface (24) in its lower part and the tank (1) has at least one catching head (28) on its inner wall with a lateral surface (27), while the cap (2) has at least one catching head (28a) in each through cut-out (26).2 The waste container with the container closing mechanism according to claim 1, characterised in that each lateral surface of the drum (6) has two heads (18) of variable thickness, wherein the thickness of each head (18) on the same lateral surface of the drum(6) is increased in direction opposite to rotation of the drum (6), i.e., the thickness of one head (18) increases in the direction of the rotation of the drum (6), and the thickness of the other head (18) increases in direction opposite to rotation of the drum (6).3 The waste container with the container closing mechanism according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the catch (5) in its lower part has two overrun surfaces (23), i.e. the overrun surface (23a) and the overrun surface (23b).4 The waste container with the container closing mechanism according to claim 1 or 2 or 3, characterized in that the lower part of the catch (5) has elastic properties.5 The waste container with the container closing mechanism, according to anyone of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the tank (1) has two catching heads (28) on opposite inner walls of the tank (1).
6. The waste container with the container closing mechanism, according to anyone of claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the cap (2) in each through cut-out (26) has two catching heads (28a).
7. The waste container with the container closing mechanism, according to anyone of claims 1 to 6, characterized in that the catching head (28a) has a recess (30).

The waste container with the container closing mechanism, according to anyone of claims 1 to 7, characterized in that between the outer surface (29) of the rotatable drum (6) and the inner surface of the circumferential ring (10) there is a lateral surface of the bag (25) at the opening of the bag (25).9 The waste container with the container closing mechanism, according to anyone of claims 1 to 8, characterized in that between the lever (19) of the catch (5) and the inner wall the cover (3) there is a spring (22).10 The waste container with the container closing mechanism, according to anyone of claims 1 to 9, characterized in that the drum (6) is made of flexible plastic or the cover (3) is made of flexible plastic or the cap (2) is made of flexible plastic.11 The waste container with the container closing mechanism, according to anyone of claims 1 to 10, characterized in that there is an insert (31) in the chamber (7) of the rotatable drum (6).12 The waste container with the container closing mechanism according to claim 11, characterized in that the insert (31) has a concave or convex catching lock (32a) on its lateral external surface and the chamber (7) has a convex or concave catching lock (32b) on its inner surface that is either circumferential or punctual, respectively.13 The waste container with the container closing mechanism according to claim 11 or 12, characterized in that the insert (31) is made of metal or plastic that contains silver.14 The method of operation of the container closing mechanism, wherein the waste container is composed of a tank (1), the cap (2) constituting a detachable part of the tank (1) and a detachable cover (3) with a rotating drum (6) located therein containing a waste chamber (7) and a handle (16) connected to the drum (6) enabling the drum (6) to rotate inside the cover (3) and the drum (6) has the chamber (7) with an inlet / outlet opening (8), characterised in that: a) the waste container is assembled by applying the cap (2) to the top of the tank (1);b) a bag (25) is inserted into the tank (1) through an inlet opening (11) by winding the inlet end of the bag (25) on a circumferential ring (10), such that the upper outer surface of the bag (25) abuts the inner surface of the circumferential ring (10); c) through the cap (2), the cover (3) is attached to the tank (1) by means of catches (5), wherein each outwardly extended end of the catch (5) slides into the corresponding cut-out (26) of the cap (2) and in the final stage of applying the cover (3), the lower part of the catch (5) with a lateral overrun surface (23a) approaches the lower part of the catch (5) with a lateral overrun surface (23b) due to the pressure on the overrun surface (23) of a lateral surface (27) of a catching head (28) located on the upper inner surface of the tank (1) wall, then when a catching surface (24) of the catch (5) is below the lower surface of the head (28), the lower part of the catch (5) is expanded and the overrun surface (23a) and the overrun surface (23b) move away from each other, and the catching surface (24) begins to adhere to the lower surface of the catching head (28), the catches (5) are blocked in the tank (1), and thus the tank (1) is connected to the cover (3) through the cap (2); d) in the assembled waste container, an external surface (29) of the drum (6), irrespective of the position of the inlet / outlet opening (8) of the drum (6) chamber (7), presses the upper wall of the bag (25), at the inlet opening of the bag (25), to the inner surface of the circumferential ring (10) of the cap (2); e) as a result of using an assembled waste container, the bag (25) is filled with waste; f) the handle (16) and the drum (6) are rotated to the lowest position, i.e. to the downward resistance and then the head (18) of a variable and gradually increasing thickness progressively presses against the lever (19) located in the upper part of the catch (5) and as a result of the rotation of the catch (5), which is enabled by its hooks (20), the catching surface (24) of the lower part of the catch (5) moves from the side wall of the tank (1) to the inside of the tank (1) from the lower surface of the catching head (28) of the tank (1) to the lower surface of the catching head (28a) of the cap (2) located in the cut-out (26) of the cap (2), and then the catch (5) is released from the catching head (28) of the tank (1), wherein the catching surface (24) of the catch (5) is preferably located in the recess (30) in the lower surface of the catching head (28a) of the cap (2) to prevent accidental disengagement of the cover (3) from the cap (2);g) the cover (3) connected to the cap (2) and the filled bag (25) pressed in the upper part of the bag (25) at its opening is lifted, with the external surface (29) of the drum (6) to the inner surface of the circumferential ring (10) of the cap (2); h) under the cap (2), the bag (25) is twisted by closing the opening of the bag (25) and by pulling the bag (25) the end of the bag (25) is pulled out through the inlet opening (11) of the cap (2) from the space between the outer surface (29) of the drum (6) and the inner surface of the circumferential ring (10) of the cap (2); i) the lower part of the catches (5) slides outwards, i.e. to the external position, extending the catching surface (24) of the catches (5) beyond the catching heads (28a) of the cap (2) and the cap (2) is freely detached from the cover (3).
5. Method of operation of the waste container closing mechanism according to claim 14, characterised in that the extension of the lower part of the catch (5) to the external position is supported by an expanding spring (22) located between the catch (5) lever (19) and the inner surface of the cover (3).
6. Method of operation of the waste container closing mechanism according to claim 14 or 15, characterised in that an insert (31) is extended from the chamber (7) of the drum(6), cleaned and introduced to the chamber (7) of the drum (6).
