Description

[0001] MIXTURES AND COMPOSITIONS COMPRISING FLUMETYLSULFORIM AND METHODS OF USE THEREOF

[0002] Throughout this application various publications are referenced. The disclosures of these documents in their entireties are hereby incorporated by reference into this application in order to more fully describe the state of the art to which this invention pertains.

[0003] BACKGROUND

[0004] Fungicides are compounds, of natural or synthetic origin, which act to protect plants against damage caused by fungi. Current methods of agriculture rely heavily on the use of fungicides. In fact, some crops cannot be grown usefully without the use of fungicides. Using fungicides allows a grower to increase the yield and the quality of the crop, and consequently, increase the value of the crop. In most situations, the increase in value of the crop is worth at least three times the cost of the use of the fungicide.

[0005] 5-fluoro-4-imino-3-methyl-l-tosyl-3,4-dihydropyrimidin-2(lH)-one (flumetylsulforim) of Formula I is a fungicide which provides control of a variety of pathogens affecting economically important crops.

[0006] Compositions comprising flumetylsulforim were described in WO 2020 / 095181 and WO2021224802.

[0007] There is a need for flumetylsulforim compositions having increased stability in the presence of elevated amount of water and / or in the presence of fluorine containing compounds.

[0011] The subject invention is further directed to a combination of fluxapyroxad and rapeseed oil.

[0012] The subject invention is further directed to a method for the control and / or prevention of (i) fungal pathogen attack on a plant or (ii) plant and / or soil fungal disease, wherein the method comprises applying the composition or the combination described herein, to soil, plant, root, foliage, seed, locus of the fungus, and / or a locus in which the infestation is to be prevented.

[0013] The subject invention is further directed to a method for increasing stability of a liquid composition comprising flumetylsulforim and an oil.
