These embodiments are provided only to ensure that the disclosure of the present invention is complete and to fully inform those skilled in the art of the scope of the invention, and the present invention is defined only by the scope of the claims. Like reference numerals refer to like elements throughout the specification.

[0036] Hereinafter, the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.

[0037] Figure 1 illustrates a method of using an oral irrigator (1) according to various embodiments of the present invention.

[0038] Figure 2 is an enlarged view of the mouthpiece (30) of Figure 1.

[0039] Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, the oral irrigator (1) includes a main body (20), a mouthpiece (30), and a drain tank (10). According to various embodiments of the present invention, the oral irrigator may include a water supply tank (40). The water supply tank (40) may be replaced with a faucet and a pipe. Cleaning water supplied from the faucet or the water supply tank (40) flows to the mouthpiece (30). The cleaning water is connected to a water supply port (31) and sprayed into the oral cavity through a spray hole (32). The cleaning water sprayed into the oral cavity cleans teeth and gums and becomes contaminated water. The contaminated water may include bacteria, proteins, tongue coating, fallen oral cells, dental calculus, and food debris stuck on teeth. The contaminated water is stored in the drain tank (10) through a drain port (36).

[0040] The main body (20) is connected to the mouthpiece (30), and a space is formed to accommodate a water supply tank (40) and a drain tank (10). The main body (20) is formed with a pump, an analysis module (50), and a pipe through which cleaning water and contaminated water flow. If the water supply tank (40) does not exist, the main body (20) is connected to a faucet.

[0041] Figure 3 is a block diagram of an analysis module (50) according to various embodiments of the present invention.

[0042] Referring to FIG. 3, an oral irrigator (1) according to various embodiments of the present invention includes at least one processor (200).

[0043] The processor (200) controls the oral irrigator (1). The processor (200) controls the supply of cleaning water and the discharge of contaminated water. The processor (200) may also function as an analysis module (50). The processor (200) controls a light source (100), a capacity sensor (400), and a light sensor (300), and transmits and receives signals. As will be described later, the processor (200) can determine or estimate the degree of contamination of the oral cavity.

[0044] The light source (100) generates light. The light source (100) may generate visible light, infrared light, and ultraviolet light. The capacity sensor (400) can measure the capacity, volume, and level of the contaminated water. The light sensor (300) detects the amount and intensity of light.

[0045] Figure 4a illustrates the relationship between a drain tank (10) and an analysis module (50) according to various embodiments of the present invention.

[0046] Referring to FIG. 4a, the oral condition judgment system according to various embodiments of the present invention includes a mouthpiece (30) having a spray hole (32) for spraying cleansing water into the oral cavity and a suction hole (35) for sucking contaminated water mixed with foreign substances in the oral cavity; a drain tank (11) for storing contaminated water; and an analysis module (50) for analyzing the state of the contaminated water stored in the drain tank (11). The analysis module (50) includes a light source (101) disposed on a side of the drain tank (11) and irradiating light toward the drain tank (11); a light sensor (301) disposed in an opposite direction of the light source (101) with the drain tank (11) as the center and obtaining light transmitted through the drain tank (11); and a processor (200) for judging the intensity of light obtained by the light sensor (301) and estimating the amount of foreign substances discharged from the oral cavity based on the intensity of light.

[0047] The processor (200) can determine the level of foreign substances contained in the contaminated water based on the intensity of light. The light sensor (301) can continuously determine the intensity of light over time. The processor (200) can determine the change in the level of contamination of the contaminated water. Foreign substances, such as bacteria, proteins, blood, tongue coating, fallen oral cells, tartar, and food debris stuck on teeth, have different densities but have mass, so they fall over time and accumulate on the bottom surface of the drain tank (11). For this reason, the level of contamination of the contaminated water determined by the processor (200) may vary over time.

[0048] Figure 4b illustrates the relationship between a drain tank (13) and an analysis module (50) according to various embodiments of the present invention.

[0049] Referring to FIG. 4b, the oral condition judgment system according to various embodiments of the present invention includes a mouthpiece (30) having a spray hole (32) for spraying cleansing water into the oral cavity and a suction hole (35) for sucking contaminated water mixed with foreign substances in the oral cavity; a drain tank (13) for storing contaminated water; and an analysis module (50) for analyzing the state of the contaminated water stored in the drain tank (13), wherein the drain tank (13) has a receiving groove (13a, 15a) formed to protrude downwardly for receiving foreign substances settled on the lower surface.

[0050] Foreign matter falls and is deposited in the receiving grooves (13a, 15a). The receiving grooves (13a, 15a) can be formed in various shapes, and according to the embodiment of Fig. 4b, their diameters decrease as they move toward the direction of gravity. This shape allows for the concentration of foreign matter in a limited space, even if the amount of foreign matter is small.

[0051] An oral condition judgment system according to various embodiments of the present invention includes a light source (103, 105) arranged on one side of a receiving groove (13a, 15a); and a light sensor (301, 303) arranged on the opposite side of the light source (103, 105) with the receiving groove (13a, 15a) as the center, and which obtains light irradiated from the light source (103, 105) and transmitted through the receiving groove (13a, 15a).

[0052] When the water tank (40) is filled with contaminated water, the amount of foreign matter precipitated may be small initially, but the amount of precipitated matter gradually increases over time. The light sources (103, 105) and light sensors (301, 303) are arranged around the receiving grooves (13a, 15a) to enable faster and more accurate determination of the amount of foreign matter precipitated.

[0053] Figure 4c illustrates the relationship between a drain tank (10) and an analysis module (50) according to various embodiments of the present invention.

[0054] Referring to FIG. 4c, the oral condition judgment system according to various embodiments of the present invention has a donut-shaped protrusion (15b) formed on the lower surface of a drain tank (15) with a receiving groove (13a, 15a) as the center, and a light source (105) and a light sensor (305) are accommodated within the protrusion (15b). The donut-shaped protrusion (15b) forms a space for accommodating the light source (105) and the light sensor (305), and ensures that the water supply tank (40) is fixed in an accurate position.

[0055] Figure 5 is a flowchart illustrating a method for determining an oral condition according to various embodiments of the present invention.

[0056] Referring to FIG. 5, a method for determining an oral condition according to various embodiments of the present invention includes a step (S510) in which a light source (101, 103, 105) irradiates light toward contaminated water discharged after cleaning the oral cavity; a step (S530) in which a light sensor (301, 303, 305) obtains light that has passed through the contaminated water; and a step (S570) in which the amount of foreign substances discharged from the oral cavity is estimated based on the intensity of the light obtained by the light sensor (301, 303, 305). The processor (200) estimates the amount of foreign substances based on the intensity of the light.

[0057] A method for determining an oral condition according to various embodiments of the present invention includes a step (S550) of storing the intensity of primary light obtained by a light sensor (301, 303, 305); a step (S571) of remeasuring the light that has passed through the contaminated water after a predetermined settling time has elapsed and storing the intensity of secondary light obtained by the light sensor (301, 303, 305); and a step (S573) of comparing the difference between the intensity of primary light and the intensity of secondary light.

[0058] The processor (200) stores the intensity of the primary light, and stores the intensity of the secondary light when the settling time (e.g., 1 minute) has elapsed. The processor (200) determines the difference in the intensity of the light.

[0059] A method for determining an oral condition according to various embodiments of the present invention includes a step (S575) of determining that the amount of foreign matter discharged from the oral cavity is high if the difference between the intensity of the primary light and the intensity of the secondary light is greater than a predetermined value.

[0060] The method for determining the oral condition according to various embodiments of the present invention includes a step (S577) of determining that the amount of foreign matter discharged from the oral cavity is low if the difference between the intensity of the primary light and the intensity of the secondary light is less than a predetermined value. The processor (200) can determine that a large number of foreign matter is contained if the difference in the intensity of the light is greater than the predetermined value. If there is a large number of foreign matter, the degree of change depending on the sedimentation time may be large.

[0061] The above judgment method (S575, S577) may vary depending on the location of the sensor. If the light sensor (301, 303, 305) is located at the top of the drain tank (10), the cleaning water above becomes increasingly clearer. If the light sensor (301, 303, 305) is located at the bottom of the drain tank (10), the cleaning water below becomes increasingly turbid. Foreign substances may fall due to gravity. The settling time may be adjusted depending on the density, content, and type of foreign substances.

[0062] The settling time may vary depending on whether or not you brush your teeth. If you use an oral irrigator (1) after brushing your teeth, the settling time may be longer due to the large amount of food debris contained. The processor (200) may also learn the user's usage patterns to set different settling times. If you use an oral irrigator (1) after brushing your teeth, the settling time may be longer.

[0063] If you are a physically disabled person with limited mobility, you can use an oral irrigator (1) as a substitute for brushing your teeth, and in this case, you can set the soaking time to a short time.

[0064] Figure 6 is a flowchart illustrating a method for determining an oral condition according to various embodiments of the present invention.

[0065] Referring to FIG. 6, a method for determining an oral condition according to various embodiments of the present invention includes a step (S610) in which a light source (101, 103, 105) irradiates light toward contaminated water discharged after cleaning the oral cavity; a step (S630) in which a light sensor (301, 303, 305) obtains light that has passed through the contaminated water; a step (S650) in which the intensity of the light obtained by the light sensor (301, 303, 305) is stored; and a step (S660) in which a sedimentation time, which is the time until the intensity of the stored light reaches a predetermined value, is calculated.

[0066] The processor (200) compares the intensity of the primary light obtained by the light sensor (301, 303, 305) with the intensity of the secondary light obtained by the light sensor (301, 303, 305) after a predetermined settling time has elapsed, and if the difference value is greater than a predetermined value, it determines that the amount of foreign matter discharged from the oral cavity is high.

[0067] The processor (200) may continuously measure the intensity of light and set the time until a predetermined amount of light is reached as the settling time. Through this process, the processor (200) may learn different settling times for each user.

[0068] A method for determining an oral condition according to various embodiments of the present invention includes a step of estimating the type of foreign substances contained in contaminated water based on the sedimentation time (S670); and a step of determining an oral health condition based on the estimated foreign substances (S680).

[0069] The processor (200) can also learn the sedimentation time of each user based on pre-learned results and determine the type of foreign substance in the oral cavity. For example, the processor (200) can estimate the oral health status of each user by learning the sedimentation time of blood, tongue coating, shed oral cells, and dental calculus.

[0070] Figure 7 illustrates the relationship between a drain tank (10) and an analysis module (50) according to various embodiments of the present invention. Figure 8 is a flowchart illustrating a method for determining an oral condition according to various embodiments of the present invention.

[0071] Referring to FIGS. 7 and 8, the oral condition judgment system according to various embodiments of the present invention includes a mouthpiece (30) having a spray hole (32) for spraying cleansing water into the oral cavity and a suction hole (35) for sucking contaminated water mixed with foreign substances in the oral cavity; a drain tank (10) for storing contaminated water; and an analysis module (50) for analyzing the state of the contaminated water stored in the drain tank (10). The analysis module (50) includes a light source (107) for irradiating light toward the drain tank (10); a plurality of light sensors (311, 312) arranged in opposite directions with respect to the drain tank (10) and perpendicular to the optical axis (7x) of the light source (107); and a processor (200) for comparing and judging the intensities of light obtained by the plurality of light sensors (311, 312) and estimating the amount of foreign substances discharged from the oral cavity based on the compared intensities of light.

[0072] The light sensors (311, 312) may be respectively positioned on the upper and lower sides of the drain tank (10). The light sensor (311) positioned on the upper side can measure a higher light intensity than the light sensor (312) positioned on the lower side. The light sensor (312) positioned on the lower side can measure a lower light intensity due to sedimenting foreign substances. The ratio of the light intensity measured by each light sensor (311, 312) may gradually increase.

[0073] The processor (200) can determine that sedimentation is complete when the ratio of light amounts becomes constant. The processor (200) can also define the time until the ratio of light amounts becomes constant as the sedimentation time, thereby determining the aforementioned sedimentation time.

[0074] A method for determining an oral condition according to various embodiments of the present invention includes a step (S810) in which a light source (107) irradiates light toward contaminated water discharged after cleaning the oral cavity; a step (S830) in which an upper sensor (311) and a foreign substance sensor (312) located at different positions each obtain light that has passed through the contaminated water; a step (S850) in which the difference in intensity of light obtained by the upper sensor (311) and the difference in intensity of light obtained by the foreign substance sensor (312) are calculated; and a step (S871) in which, if the difference in intensity of light is greater than a predetermined value, the oral contamination level is determined to be high.

[0075] A method for determining an oral condition according to various embodiments of the present invention includes a step (S873) of determining that the oral contamination level is low if the light intensity difference value is less than a predetermined value.

[0076] If the difference in light intensity is greater than a predetermined value, the processor (200) can determine that there is a lot of foreign matter and thus determine that the oral contamination level is high.

[0077] The foreign substance sensor (312) is positioned closer in the direction of gravity than the upper sensor (311). The foreign substance sensor (312) may be positioned at the bottom of the drain tank (10), and the upper sensor (311) may be positioned at the top of the drain tank (10) or higher than the drain tank (10).

[0078] Fig. 9 illustrates the relationship between a drain tank (10) and an analysis module (50) according to various embodiments of the present invention. Fig. 10 is a flowchart illustrating a method for determining an oral condition according to various embodiments of the present invention.

[0079] Referring to FIGS. 9 and 10, the oral condition judgment system according to various embodiments of the present invention includes a mouthpiece (30) having a spray hole (32) for spraying cleansing water into the oral cavity and a suction hole (35) for sucking contaminated water mixed with foreign substances in the oral cavity; a drain tank (19) for storing contaminated water; and an analysis module (50) for analyzing the state of the contaminated water stored in the drain tank (19), wherein the analysis module (50) includes a capacity sensor (400) for measuring the capacity of the contaminated water stored in the drain tank (19); and a processor (200) for judging the oral condition based on the difference between the capacity of the cleansing water and the capacity of the contaminated water.

[0080] The capacity sensor (400) can estimate the capacity by measuring the water level of the contaminated water, or can estimate the capacity by measuring the mass of the contaminated water.

[0081] Xerostomia is a condition in which the mouth becomes dry due to reduced or almost no saliva production. Patients with xerostomia typically produce significantly less saliva than the average person. The processor (200) determines that if the difference in saliva volume is less than a predetermined value, the likelihood of xerostomia is high.

[0082] Additionally, patients with xerostomia may experience increased shedding of oral cells due to insufficient lubrication from saliva. Furthermore, while normal individuals maintain adequate oral bacterial control due to adequate saliva volume and composition, patients with xerostomia may experience a decrease in the antibacterial effect of saliva, leading to an increase in bacterial counts. If the processor (200) determines that the amount of light measured in the contaminated water is below a predetermined value, it determines that the likelihood of xerostomia is low.

[0083] In order to more accurately determine the condition inside the oral cavity, if it is determined that the oral irrigator (1) was used immediately after a meal without brushing teeth, the processor (200) may suspend the determination of the oral condition and request the user to reuse the oral irrigator (1).

[0084] A method for determining an oral condition according to various embodiments of the present invention includes a step (S1010) of terminating the drainage of contaminated water mixed with foreign substances in the oral cavity; a step (S1060) of calculating the difference between the volume of discharged contaminated water and the volume of water supplied to an oral irrigator (1); and a step (S1071, S1072) of determining the possibility of dry mouth based on the difference in volume.

[0085] A method for determining an oral condition according to various embodiments of the present invention includes a step (S1030) in which a capacity sensor (400) measures the height of contaminated water filled in a drain tank (19); and a step (S1050) in which the capacity of the contaminated water is estimated through the measured height of the contaminated water.

[0086] As described above, according to the method and system for judging the oral condition of the present invention, it is possible to judge dry mouth, oral health, and whether or not teeth are brushed based on the degree of light quantity, difference in light quantity, and difference in amount of toothbrush.

[0087] Although the preferred embodiments of the present invention have been illustrated and described above, the present invention is not limited to the specific embodiments described above, and various modifications can be made by a person having ordinary skill in the art to which the invention pertains without departing from the gist of the present invention as claimed in the claims. Furthermore, such modifications should not be understood individually from the technical idea or prospect of the present invention.

The stage where the drainage of contaminated water mixed with foreign substances in the oral cavity is completed; A step of calculating the difference between the volume of the discharged contaminated water and the volume of water supplied to the oral irrigator; and A method for determining an oral condition, comprising a step of determining the possibility of dry mouth based on the difference value of the above capacity.

9. In paragraph 8, A step in which a capacity sensor measures the height of the contaminated water filled in the drain tank; A method for determining an oral condition, further comprising: a step of estimating the volume of contaminated water through the height of the measured contaminated water; 10. In paragraph 9, An oral condition judgment system that determines that there is a high possibility of dry mouth if the difference between the estimated volume of contaminated water and the supplied water volume is less than a predetermined value.

11. A system for judging the oral condition, comprising a mouthpiece having a spray hole for spraying cleansing water into the oral cavity and a suction hole for sucking contaminated water mixed with foreign substances in the oral cavity; a drain tank for storing the contaminated water; and an analysis module for analyzing the condition of the contaminated water stored in the drain tank. The above analysis module, A light source disposed on the side of the drain tank and irradiating light toward the drain tank; An optical sensor positioned in the opposite direction of the light source with the drain tank as the center and obtaining light transmitted through the drain tank; and An oral condition judgment system including a processor that judges the intensity of light obtained by the above-mentioned light sensor and estimates the amount of foreign substances discharged from the oral cavity based on the intensity of the light.

12. In paragraph 11, The above processor, An oral condition judgment system that compares the intensity of primary light obtained by the above-described optical sensor with the intensity of secondary light obtained by the above-described optical sensor after a predetermined settling time has elapsed, and determines that the amount of foreign matter discharged from the oral cavity is high if the difference is greater than a predetermined value.

13. In paragraph 11, The above drain tank, An oral condition assessment system in which a receiving groove protrudes downward to receive foreign substances deposited on the lower surface.

14. In paragraph 13, An oral condition judgment system in which a donut-shaped protrusion centered on the receiving groove is formed on the lower surface of the drain tank, and the light source and the light sensor are accommodated within the protrusion.
